This is a great get away from the city! The beds are comfortable, the pool is fun, the bbq is good for grilling and the scenery is outstanding. I recommend this location for anyone who likes a rustic experience with friends. Romilda was very helpful with her communication and Maria, the caretaker, is warm and friendly. An extra bonus: I saw 20 blue and yellow macaws in the trees while hiking the the hills past the pond.

The house is lovely and it was very clean. Mariana greeted us when we arrived and showed us to the room. She checked on us briefly every morning and was friendly.

Olá, Fomos muito bem recebidos durante todo o final de semana. A Romilda estava a noite para nos receber, e durante os outros dias, a Mariana, que cuida da casa, estava sempre disposta a nos ajudar com que precisava. As descrições da casa são realmente como estão descritos, quartos e banheiros iguais a de um hotel. Área de lazer é muito boa, e o local foi fácil de encontrar através do mapa que a Romilda ofereceu posteriormente a compra. Recomendo a experiência a todos.

Tudo muito bom na viagem. O conjunto do local era muito agradável. A natureza ao redor era encantadora, com muitas árvores, flores, aves, tranquilidade e sensação de segurança. A estrutura da casa era muito cômoda: quartos amplos, piscina (não aquecida, mas com água morna por causa do sol), todos os utensílios domésticos de que necessitamos, cozinha bem equipada, área de lazer muito aconchegante (fazendo dela o local mais frequentado da casa). Inclusive, a casa era muito maior do que imaginávamos, de modo que ficamos todos muito confortáveis. Além disso, o senhor Messias e a dona Mariana eram muito simpáticos e prestativos.

We had a wonderful time at Caraivas, it's a beautiful place particularly for those who are in search of peace and quiet. The trail to the waterfall which is located within the reserve is breathtaking. I will recommend it to all my friends!

We had a fantastic stay in a truly amazing place. Lovely cottage which comfortably hosted six of us. Camp fires and stretching in the morning with massages down by the river as well. We'll be back, i'm sure.

lovely location up above Pirenopolis, in the woods, in a very quiet setting. Food is wonderful, cabin right size and comfortable, and the feel of the place is very peaceful and relaxing. Massage was great!

Foi uma experiência muito nova pra nós estar na Reserva Caraívas: algo totalmente diferenciado do conceito de hotelaria ao qual estamos acostumados. Gostamos da oportunidade de prepararmos nossa própria refeição, mesmo na cozinha coletiva, como foi o nosso caso e não vi dificuldades em levar a nossa própria roupa de cama e banho (ainda mais porque fomos bem instruídos previamente sobre isso). A cachoeira é muito bonita mas é mais para contemplação do que para banho já que seu poço é estreito e raso. Mas ainda assim passamos algumas boas e agradáveis horas lá. A trilha que dá acesso a ela é um tanto longa e difícil pra quem não está tão preparado fisicamente, uma vez que possui muitos aclives e declives, ser bastante pedregosa e após chuvas recentes alguns trechos ficam escorregadios devido à umidade. Ah! Estar calçado com tênis é fundamental! No quarto em que fiquei, que era contíguo a outro, tivemos algum probleminha com ruídos. Numa próxima oportunidade eu escolheria um chalé. Por se tratar de um ambiente de mata, insetos são previsíveis. Repelentes são bem-vindos e anti-alérgicos podem ser necessários. Interessante guardar alimentos em recipientes bem fechados para evitar formigas. E o que fechou com chave de ouro meu final de semana foi foi a sessão de massagem que recebi da Alexa (paga à parte)! O espaço de massagem é uma tenda às margens do rio, sob os sons da água corrente e do vento nas folhas das árvores! Simplesmente encantador! Se você está apto a uma proposta de hospedagem mais simplificada, um verdadeiro contato com a natureza e desejoso de se desconectar literalmente da vida urbana, esse é o lugar.

A experiência superou nossas expectativas. A casa em que nos hospedamos (Dhyana) é um refúgio idílico, com uma bela cachoeira a menos de 100 mt. Tudo é muito rústico, sem sinal de celular e wifi, o que torna o fim de semana perfeito para pais que querem curtir filhos que gostam de navegar pela internet (jogos, muitos jogos na mala para brincar com os filhos de todas as idades!). A casa não tem quartos. As camas ficam no mezanino (uma queen e três single) e uma cama extra no andar de baixo. Levem roupa de cama, travesseiros e toalhas. A propriedade fica a uns 10 km de Pirenópolis, sendo a maior parte do trajeto feita em terra batida. Minha recomendação é que se programem, de modo a ir à cidade apenas uma vez, para almoçar ou jantar, e aproveitem o restante do dia nos arredores, em especial nas muitas e belas cachoeiras.

A Reserva Caraivas e um ótimo lugar pra quem procura descanso e maior contato com a natureza! Possui belas cachoeiras na propriedade, e fica apenas a 4km da Cachoeira do Abade. Adorei o Chalé que fiquei, assim como o café da manhã. A Jeanne não pode me recepcionar, mas fui muito bem recebida pela Vilma, que organizou tudo para mim. Único ponto negativo e não ter sinal de celular, fora isso, tudo certo!

This little hideaway is a perfect way to balance a busy day of tourism in the nearby historic town of Pirenopolis. The chalet is set into a hillside; a little brook runs behind the property and a beautiful water lily pond made for a very peaceful setting. The variety of bird life was amazing; toucans were outside our windows in the morning. Use of stone and wood made the cabin rustic and beautiful. It was clean (on short notice) and the caretaker provided adequate directions, as it is really "in the woods". We would recommend arriving during daylight hours. Relaxing on the patio for meals in the coolness of the evening and morning was a relief from the heat of the lavrado....We are sorry we didn't get to meet Murielle, but enjoyed our stay!

Our experience at this place was simply remarkable and unforgettable. This petite house offers a real experience of what's like living in the Brazilian rural area. Very clean and more than that, the design of the house brings the tipping point between simplicity and elegance. We spent a weekend there (a couple) and we had a great time. THE BED IS AWESOME. You must go to the water falls in Pirenopolis. The abade one is simply impressive (although its over developed). Bring your own water to drink and an olive oil so you can replenish it and everyone after you will enjoy nice meals there. Our alarm clock was a curious bird nocking against the window, every morning, but not that punctually. If you aren't lucky enough to experience it with no electricity (as we did), use candles and incense, and your night will be remarkable as mine was. If you go at night, pay lots of attention to get the right path. Aos brasileiros, a estadia foi simplesmente incrível para um casal. A casa é super limpa, a cama é ótima, super completo o chalé (até com máquina de pão) silêncio, paz e elegância rústica. A estrada de terra é muito boa. Leve sua água, e espírito de contemplação. Vá as cachoeiras e transforme essas palavras em boas memórias.

It was a real treat to be able to come back to Sitio Galeria during my travels in Brazil this year and I like to thank Murielle for accommodating me during her busy time with volunteers helping in the land. One can see how much work they all have been doing, there were flowers around the place and it all looked beautiful. I enjoyed my walks up and down the hill and around the pond but one of the things I found most refreshing was going to the spring and soak my feet in the fresh clean water coming down in the rocks, such a feeling!!! I was so glad to be in the wild and yet so close to civilization. Murielle was very kind and as I was on my own she very kindly had me for lunch and supper most days for a very modest extra sum , that gave me the opportunity to meet some of her volunteers, really nice young people travelling through Brazil and enjoying the experience of helping. I thoroughly enjoyed Murielle’s cooking it was delicious, her vegetarian cooking was full of flavours and the variety of dishes were really amazing and delicious not to forget her home-made bread. As it is the rainy season sometimes the electricity went off, which in some ways added to the excitement of being in the wild as we had to use candles and the place looked even more beautiful with candle light. The chalet had everything I needed with an excellent new cooker since my last visit last year. I was able to get myself breakfast every day and any snacks I felt like after my walks in the grounds. It is a very relaxing atmosphere to be in such a natural rustic cottage and at the same time having all the facilities, fridge, cooker, all necessary pots and pans as well as crockery and cutlery, the bed linen and towels were all provided so having a shower after my sometime muddy walks was very refreshing. Murielle’s very kind neighbour on the farm next door let me use the internet to check my mail, I was most grateful for their kindness and gentle manner, true traditional old farmers doing things the old traditional ways a real privilege to be able to have contact with such people. I cannot say enough about how kind and accommodating Murielle was helping me feel at home in such a remote place, she was kind enough to collect me from the bus station on my arrival from Brasilia and take me back at the end of my stay, I hope I can make the trip again next year, a week in such relaxing environment does wonders for one’s health physically and mentally, away from it all, telephones, internets etc. Just contact with nature and good healthy food. Muriele made me feel very much at home.

This place is awesome. Challe a perfect place to stay with the nature but at the same time the city is only a 20 min drive away. Specially the neighbor Djalma is a kind hearted person. Provided us with some freshly drawn milk, natural mineral water and farm fresh oranges which makes our trip really enjoyable. Last but not the least Murielle is a great host. We will come back soon in near future for sure.

The chalé was just what we wanted, a peaceful place to stay and rest. There was a very cute welcoming cat when we arrived. Everything was very clean and organized, the kitchen was very well equipped, so it was easy to prepare some quick meals. Also, it's quite close to the city, Pirenópolis, and the beautiful waterfalls.

What a beautiful place... I'm charmed, enchanted. Exactly what I was looking for : a peaceful space to rest, cosy, close to Nature... forest, river, birds, animals... So much love. I recommend this place for the persons who know how to appreciate being in Nature. For sure, there is insects, and the only building around is a farm, you need to drive a bit to get into the town, but that precisely what makes this place unique, for me ! I'll be back, I hope. Absolutely loved it!!! I stayed here with my brother, his wife, and their two small children and it was very comfortable and private. Perfect for a real jungle experience. I got to show my nieces some monkeys in the back yard! Murielle is the nicest person you will ever meet. She immediately picked up my niece and started showing her around. She also baked us some fresh bread which we had for breakfast along with some of her delicious homemade cheese. I highly recommend this little chalet in the the woods if you are looking to get away from the bustle of city life. Delightfully serene!

My stay at Murielle's place was magical, a perfect place to relax, amazing scenery and beautiful walks. Murielle was a perfect host, very helpful and made my stay very comfortable, she kindly cooked a meal for me and was delicious. I would recommend this place as the perfect retreat to explore, the cottage was very clean and had all I needed. I would love to come back and stay longer.
