  • Rachel's place is gorgeous, cosy and sparkling clean. I have never slept so well, with the dark skies and tranquility of the Eco Village! When I checked in, Rachel had left fresh bread, milk, eggs and cereals. What a lovely welcome! I will be back next year. 5 stars all round Rachel, you should be proud, you're the perfect host! Best wishes Deirdre x

  • Rachel's accommodation in Cloughjordon was lovely. We stayed for one night as we were attending a wedding in Cloughjordon House, this worked out brilliantly as there was only a few minutes walk through a garden door between the two locations. The accommodation is very well set up, spotlessly clean and has all amenities you need. Rachel was a lovely host and welcomed us with a warm and friendly demeanour. We would highly recommend.

  • Wonderful! On every level

    Nikki2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is definitely one of the best Airbnb's I have stayed in. It was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. A lot more roomy that I thought too from the photos. Rachel and Dara supplied a range of items for breakfast (bread, eggs, cereal, muesli, yoghurt, milk, blueberries even!) which was much more than expected. Less than a 5 minute walk to CJH through the "ecovillage gate" if you are attending a function/cooking classes there. I would 100% recommend this accommodation.

  • This is a great place to stay, especially if you are attending a wedding at cloughjordan house. Extremely close to the venue. The accommodation was really clean, modern and had some really nice touches. Would definitely recommend it.

Overall, the stay was outstanding and beyond our expectations. She was kind enough to let us stay for extra hours than the actual check-out time. Thanks again Jody.

  • Eamonn is a lovely host and had the fire lighting on arrival, fab house in great location close to motorway. Clean house with all essentials needed.

    Gavin2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here. Eamonn was very helpful with suggestions of activities and sites to see. This house is very clean, well maintained, and spacious. The house is located in a rural area but within 1-2 hours drive to other towns. We were only minutes away from a shopping plaza that had anything we might need. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet location to stay. On a clear night we saw hundreds of stars from the bedroom window.

    Lisa2019-03-20T00:00:00Z

  • The Loft is by far one of the cosiest places myself and my girlfriend have stayed in. In the heart of the Irish countryside, you'll find yourself staying in a modern and stylish apartment that is cared for by wonderful hosts that manage to make you feel right at home whether you come from 10 minutes away or 100 miles away. As we booked it for Valentine's day, little touches were added by our hosts that really made the experience that much more wonderful.

    Jody2020-02-15T00:00:00Z

My apartment is situated overlooking the market square in a newly developed Eco village attached to the older local village.I have a twin room available for rent in the apartment. All facilities available in the adjoining village. Try eco life!
what i most like is the feeling of Peace and the beautifull skies..night and day. At the same time I feel that Im in the hub of eco living here and since i overlook the market square...separated by our stream I see all the comings and goings and the children at play. I have no need of TV..I can sit on my verandah and thats enough.
  • Lovely location & a great setting.

Recently awarded 'Most Unique Listing in Ireland' by Airbnb! This cabin is nestled in a tranquil woodland setting, with uninterrupted panoramic views over Lough Derg all the way to the Sliabh Aughty hills in Galway. The cabin is far away from busy roads and street lights and is a haven of birdsong, starry nights and spectacular sunsets with "one of the best views we have ever woken up to". Fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom and lofted bedroom; and is suitable for all seasons.
You have a seperate entrance and car parking facility. We live adjacent to the cabin but it is not overlooked. The cabin was designed and built by Stephen (a master carpenter) who was inspired by the 'Tiny Homes Movement' which advocates living simply on a smaller scale. It is built from locally sourced timber, is fully insulated and has low voltage led lighting; all designed to increase sustainability and minimise the environmental impact. Although small in scale, the cabin contains everything you could need for a perfect holiday experience.
This area is far from the busy tourist trails and is a well-kept secret haven of natural beauty. However, our central location means you are only an hour from the 'Wild Atlantic Way' and less than two hours from Dublin.
  • A perfect little place to get away and relax. We had a lovely despite most places being closed due to covid-19. We spent more time walking and sight seeing and zero time in the pub, it was actually great. Would definitely recommend you check this place out.

  • Steve and Aine are wonderful hosts. They picked and dropped us in Nenagh city centre as we didn't have our own vehicle. They provided us with all the essentials we asked for and helped quickly. The house itself is so full of amenities that we enjoyed every bit of the "Human nest." Enjoyed the nature at it's best. Birds chirping and the smell of the wet ground and grass was therapeutic and made us feel content. Amazing place to stay. Go for it. ♥️🙂

  • Location in a very quiet neighborhood and not far from the city center and markets (a good quality convenience store nearby). The house is very comfortable, clean and cozy. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment, the dishes are very good and there is availability of coffee and tea (we love it!).The host wasn't present in our stay, but was always available and attentive. We had a lot of privacy and for that we appreciated that the choice was right. Highly recommend and hope to return.

Self contained guest suite, with own door access. The bedroom has beds that can be configured as either two twins or a king sized bed. There is a small reading nook as part of the bedroom. Why not visit the Governor's House and Gatehouse, which was part of the old County Gaol, operational during the 1800s. Lough Derg is only a few kilometres away and is a great spot for fishing and watersports.
  • Ruth is a terrific host who was quick to greet us immediately on checkin and offer some local food and drink places to visit. Furthermore, due to uncertainty with the corona virus we weren’t sure where we were going to stay or possibly even be trapped in Ireland. Ruth was quick to offer up her place to us until we got sorted, and was nothing but nice and thoughtful with recommendations on what to do. Thank you Ruth!!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed for two night and loved every minute. Both nights we cooked on the barbecue but there are plenty of local places to eat. It was quite chilly at night but with the wood burner and all the extra blankets provided we didn’t overly notice it. Could not recommend the tipi enough. Jeremy and Nuala were outstanding hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely try and stay again.

  • Brilliant night ‘glamping’ in true style. Jerry met us at the door and showed us the gorgeous tipi. There was a comfy double bed inside with a chair and foot stall, a picnic basket with cutlery, some plates and beers for us, and lots of extra blankets should we need them. Jerry was very kind and helpful, as was his lovely wife. We bought some food in a supermarket and used the microwave to have a night in the tipi watching movies on an iPad. The solar lights are a great touch and make the tent look really cosy. There was also a small wood burner outside that we didn’t use as it was nice and warm anyway, and a table a chairs which were where we had breakfast before heading off for a day paddle-boarding.

    Tadhgh2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely friendly hosts. Great breakfast. Would highly recommend

    Dean2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The tipi was really quirky and had great attention to detail inside. We were really surprised at the space, as there was more than many double rooms I've stayed in in some hotels! Unfortunately the town had no running water at the time we stayed, but we were given plenty of extra drinking water which was really appreciated given that the water situation was out of their control. A really good stay if you are looking for a cheaper and somewhat different experience.

An 18th century village townhouse located in the centre of Cloughjordan at the entrance to The Eco Project and 3 minute walk from Cloughjordan House. The house is a two storey with light bright rooms. The property is comfortably furnished in an eclectic style. The bedrooms are on the first floor while the shared bathroom is located on the ground floor. The house is ideally located for walks in the Knocknacree woodlands and Scohaboy bog while also being on the Beira Breifne Route. Train access.
Our home is a special place to experience with its location in a typical Irish village. The house was built around 1700 and our family have been here since 1870. The traditional trade of Farriery had been the family business down through the years. Helen now uses the former forge space as her painting & ceramic art studio. We have maintained the property to demonstrate its quaintness by our eclectic mix of modern and antique items within our home.
Cloughjordan is a historical village in "The Calm of Middle Country" as described by local Poet and Patriot Thomas Mac Donagh. The village hosts Irelands first Eco Village Project. The village is a 10 minute walk to the lovely Knocknacree Woodlands with its award winning walks. Cloughjordan House dates from the 13th century and was the foundation of the village. The local church boasts of one of Irelands finest stain glass windows by artists Harry Clarke and Evie Hone. The locality is dotted with 15th century tower houses, churches and Mills. A great location to explore Irelands heritage. The village has a local Heritage Centre / Musuem open every day and dedicated to our greatest citizen and signature of The Proclamation Thomas Mac Donagh. The Eco Village project makes for very interesting walks and tours demonstrating sustainable living in a modern setting.
  • Highly recommended.

  • My girlfriend and I had a great two night stay at Helen & Seamus’s whilst attending a wedding at Cloughjordan house. Very comfortable, clean and quiet with great communication and easy check-in and out. Great breakfast too. Would definitely recommend.

  • I booked this place for my parents for a wedding they were going to up the road. They had nothing but positive things to say afterwards. Such an interesting and hospitable couple! Excellent breakfast and good location. Plenty to visit in the area

  • Helen and Seamus’s home is beautiful we couldn’t have asked for better accommodation and hosts!

  • Helen and Seamus, were wonderful hosts. And made us feel very comfortable in their home.

  • We stayed the night after a wedding at Cloughjordan House. We were met by Helen who is just hilarious, the usual welcoming Irish wit and charm. The house is much bigger on the inside than it looks. It has a really nice charming feel to the place. It's spotlessly clean and has lots of space. We dropped off our stuff a rushed off to the wedding. Following a fantastic wedding (the venue is gorgeous BTW) we came back which is no more that a 1min drive or a 7 minute walk. We had a fantastic nights sleep, the beds were super comfortable and the bedding was really high quality. When we finally dragged ourselves out of bed we Helen had prepared a very nice and clean (not greasy) Irish breakfast with fresh bread toast. During breakfast we met Seamus who gave us tips on the best places to visit in Ireland. He was brilliant, I wouldn't mind sharing an evening and a few drinks with him. It was perfect for what we wanted for the wedding.... ;)

  • Helen and Seamus were both super welcoming and we had a lovely couple of days. Thoroughly recommended.

    Thomas2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • What wonderful hosts! This was more of a BnB style of hosting, with a delicious hot brekky cooked for us both mornings with all the trimmings - we felt truly spoilt. Helen and Seamus were both very accommodating, and a pleasure to talk with. The room and bed is very comfortable - Keith read a book in the mornings whilst Katie slept off the wedding festivities :)

  • Connie is a wonderful host, who gave us good tips about what to see, where to shop for groceries etc. (she even offered to drive us to and from the local Pub since we were a little unsure about driving at night!) The house is very well set up and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here immensely.

  • I could not reccomend this place more. It was perfect. Host is more than accommodating, and so friendly. The view is amazing! Wish we could have spent more time there! And there was even a pool table and darts we were able to enjoy! Best Airbnb I have ever been too.

  • So far the beat Airbnb Host ever!! We have stayed with lovely hosts but Cornelia and her husband made this trip second to none. The house is more than you can see from the photos. Is super cozy, great views, many small touches dont have the space to list them all. Everything is thought of. View and fenced gardens for dogs probably our favourite highlights. But the hospitality takes first place. Will definitely return!!!

  • Connie’s house is amazing. We loved sitting in the conservatory and taking in the view of the lake. We did not want to leave. The house is in a perfect location for day tripping. We were supremely happy with our stay.

  • A group of 5 of us stayed in the 3 bedroom chalet for a wedding in Coolbawn Quay - was a great base for the weekend and a 5 min drive from the venue. The house was great with kitchen, living area, patio and nice bedrooms. Amazing setting with a big garden, very quiet and peaceful. Beattie the dog gave us a great welcome and was so friendly. Agnes was easy to deal with during the booking and check in process and was even kind enough to drop us to the wedding venue to collect a car the next day. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend.

  • Rachel was a fantastic host from start to finish. As we were attending a wedding with an early ceremony, she organised an early checkin for us which we are very appreciative of. The room was spotless and spacious as was the adjoining bathroom. Rachel made sure we knew the best way to get around the surrounding area during our stay which was very helpful. Also the breakfast herself and her husband made us the next morning was lovely and was something we were not expecting, a lovely gesture. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area. Thanks Rachel!!
