  • Apartment is very clean and quaint, within walking distance to downtown. Easy check-in. Hosts were great. I will stay here again in the future.

  • This stylish space is the perfect place to stay! Jim has carefully chosen high end furnishings that make this suite extra comfortable. The tall windows let lots of light into the rooms so which makes them feel open and airy. You’ll feel like a local staying here in the center of town. Jim & Lydia’s hospitality is top notch. Highly recommend this rental!

    Gail2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jim was very welcoming and has put a lot of work into these suites. Clarion has a cute small town feel and, combined with Jim's suite, makes for a great weekend escape. My friends and I enjoyed exploring the town and Jim was a great source of information for things to do in the area. The book of information he has put together was also of great use for both the area and the suite. We plan on coming back in the future to continue exploring!

    Nick2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Lidia’s space is amazing. It’s in the heart of Clarion, close to several restaurants and local breweries. I’ve stayed in several AirBnBs, and this is the most stylish place I’ve ever stayed in. They have put a lot of thought and care into the suite. My stay was very comfortable, and check in was a breeze. Jim also included local tips and sent me information about a local event happening the evening that I stayed, which was much appreciated. I highly recommend!

Make the most of your Allegheny Mountains getaway at ‘Freedom 94 acres’ a 2-bedroom, vacation rental cabin in Brady! From the covered deck with a fire pit and grill to the rustic interior, perfect for up to 6 guests traveling together. Fish at the Allegheny River, hike mountain trails, or hit the hunting stands by day and atv trails by night, play games in the living area, and enjoy the cabin’s serene mountain setting! 200 yd shooting range.
The cabin has a master bedroom and a large loft bedroom with 3 beds on the second floor. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of plates silverware and glassware for a party of 6. A coffee machine is on both floors. Keurig on the first and tradition al on the second floor. There is a gas oven. A microwave. A dishwasher. Two fridges. Extra kitchen utensils pizza cutter pots pans. Block of knives. Cell phone charger for apple devices. There is a deck on the front of the property with 8 chairs two tables and a fire pit. Trails run throughout the property half of them are wooded and half are in fields. The property is on a mountain. It is fairly flat Where the cabin is located with rolling hills and a pond. A few acres are mowed in the spring and summer months. There is also a picnic pavilion 20x 30 covered with picnic tables.
Very private wooded setting. Close to hiking trails. Hunting lands. Atv trails. The city is small and fun. A few restaurants are nearby that offer local foods and drinks. My favorites in Brady are the Old bank Riverview and All Star.
  • This cabin is fantastic, especially for the price. The hosts are very helpful and communicative, and the hospitality is unlike anything else. The stay was very much a “my house is your house” kind of feel. The location is great as well, especially if you’re looking for a place to unwind and get away, it’s incredibly peaceful. Couldn’t have asked for a cozier place. Also, make sure to check out the town, the locals are very friendly!

    Alexandra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was WONDERFUL! Exactly what I was looking for to get out of the city for a few nights. The road to get back to it would be a little rough this time of year without having 4x4, but it is what is to be expected to find such a great property. Plenty of sleeping room and so much land outside. The pond right there on the property is a special bonus! Very much looking forward to visit again when it is warm!!

    Malinda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely adorable. Much more space than we were expecting it to have. Will for sure be coming back again when the weather is nice! The driveway was definitely a little rough to get in and out of with a small and low to the ground car like I have but we managed to make it with very few issues. Definitely not recommended if it’s going to be muddy.

Our cottage is a beautiful Arts and Crafts style home located on the Allegheny River, just north of Foxburg, PA. The kitchen and bath are newly redone and the rest of the house refinished keeping in mind the period of construction.
The cottage has lovely hardwood floors, living room, dining room & kitchen plus an enclosed sun porch. The bath and two bedrooms are on a step up level. The third bedroom "kids room" is on on the second floor and only accessible via an outdoor stairway.
  • Norma's place was beautiful. I appreciated all the details that made it feel cozy and like home. Great host with great communication.

    Hanna2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect weekend getaway. We loved spending a cold January weekend at Norma's cabin. The scenery was beautiful with on-site river access, nicely landscaped yard and birds and wildlife. While feeling remote and serene, this location is very close to restaurants, wineries and quaint shops in nearby towns. Less than ten minutes by driving to one winery that we enjoyed, August Falls, where the owners greeted you in their home and freely share their knowledge of dry and sweet wine plus generous free sample pours. We really appreciated the cleanliness, thoughtful touches and amenities that the cabin offered and we were able to cook all of our meals there for the weekend (by choice wanting to stay in during the cold snowy/rainy days). Thanks, Norma, for such a lovely stay and for allowing our fur babies to enjoy this vacation too. We definitely recommend you try this stay and will not be disappointed.

    Heather2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Norma's River Cottage is a lovely cottage with interesting architecture, an inviting living room, a great view of the river, and comfortable homey furnishings. It was a perfect winter weekend getaway for us, and we read, played games, and watched a movie with a (gas) fire in the fireplace and the simple beauty of the river flowing by outside. The Allegheny Grille in Foxburg (5 minutes away) was a nice place for dinner one evening. Otherwise we cozied up and enjoyed the cottage. If your looking for a charming place to relax, this is a great option.

    Melvin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place! Really cute and relaxing. We had the gas fire going the whole time. Peaceful view out the back of the wide Allegheny River. Great communication with the host.

    Daniel2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This amazing gem provided a wonderful place for our family get together. Great location and everything about the cabin says Norma cares about her cabin and the people that stay there. Highly recommend unless you want to stay the same days we do!!! 😊

    Marion2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We found the cottage very warm and inviting for our small family. This is the type of place we could find ourselves returning again and again.

    Phill2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a quick getaway from the city and Normas place fit the bill perfectly. Unfortunately it was rainy and cold so we didn’t get to enjoy the river right out the back door. It was still very peaceful and very close to outdoor activities that we were hoping for. We will definitely come back when the weather is warmer with a boat and bikes!

    Marin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Riverview cottage is a must see and stay! Beautifully restored and has everything that you need to completely relax! Norma is an amazing hostess and really thinks of everything. You will feel very at home and be well taken care of. We loved it and plan to return!

  • Great place to stay, our family enjoyed the nostalgicness of Grandma’s Place... we would stay again when traveling through. Miss Lucy obviously put a lot of time and effort into making this a great place to stay. She communicates quickly and isn’t shy about giving recommendations. Thank you Miss Lucy!

    David2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy’s place was more than we could have ask for. It was very comfortable for a lengthy stay. Cable and WiFi work great. Kitchen is large and appliances work great. Bed is comfortable. Exceptionally clean. Lucy is gracious and very accommodating. Would not hesitate to stay at Lucy’s Grandma’s house again. Nice neighborhood and very close to town.

    David2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if planning to go to Groundhog Day at Gobbler’s Knob!

    Angela2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy is a wonderful host and person. Her home was perfect for a 6-week stay. Close to a grocery store and quiet neighborhood. Lucy’s home was very comfortable, clean and she provided breakfast food items which was a very generous touch. I would stay at Grandma’s house again without hesitation. Great WIFI and Cable TV. No problem with anything. Lucy’s communication is great. Thank you, Lucy.

    David2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy’s place has a lot of charm and was bigger than expected. There was a baby gate which was very useful for the stairs. Everything was super clean. It’s also very convenient off of the interstate. Overall, a really great place to stay.

  • Grandma's Place was great! Lucy was very quick in her responses and check-in was easy. The location was perfect for our needs and the home was cozy and comfortable....and it was a pleasant surprise to find it decorated for Christmas! I will definitely check for the availability next time I plan to be in the area.

    Bonnie2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Grandma’s Place was perfect! Easy to find right off the expressway, easy parking (for 1 vehicle), seasonal decorative touches throughout the house, and spotless!! Thank you Lucy for great communication and leaving the lights on for us as we came in after dark!

I live with my boyfriend and we have 2 dogs. The dogs are extremely friendly, but they will be completely out of the guest's way! We are very friendly and love to meet new people!
The room available is a private spare bedroom that contains 1 queen bed, closet, desk, and dresser. Directly across from the private bedroom is a large master bathroom. The house also has 2 living rooms, one upstairs with a fireplace and one downstairs with a fire place. The kitchen is open to anyone, and we will always have water and coffee provided. There is also a front porch and a back porch. The front porch has a nice view of the front yard and the backroad that the house is on. The back porch is a very large deck that runs the length of the house, with a patio underneath. It has a great view of the open land and woods that the house is on along with the pond. It's great for relaxing and enjoying country life! *update* we are currently doing some landscaping/renovations and putting in a pool and pavilion, so the lower yard may be under construction during your stay. It’s about 100+ yards away from the house, so it will have zero impact on your stay, and you will not even be able to see it unless you take a walk down the hill, through the property.
We are located on a back road outside of town. There is a small local store about a mile from our house if you would need anything, a few unique places to eat within 2-10 miles, and a gas station at the top of the hill. We are about 10 minutes from the actual town of Clarion, which is where majority of the attraction are like Clarion University, Walmart, movie theater, golf course, the mall, YMCA, and various other shops and restarunts. We are also about 10 miles from Cook Forest which has campgrounds, hikes, canoe rentals, horse back riding, go carts, deer ranch, swimming, and much more. There are also 2 very popular winery’s near by, one is the Red Bandana and the other is Derek Creek Winery. Both beautiful indoor and outdoor seating with great views and awesome wine! We are in walking distance to Rail 66 Country trails, or “rails to trails”, which is a beautiful paved path that runs about 13 miles through the woods and along side scenic views. It’s great for walking, running or riding bikes!
  • Wonderful place to stay! Amanda has a great home and is very dog friendly! We super appreciated her hospitality and look forward to staying again in the future.

    Elizabeth2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot, Amanda and JJ are excellent hosts and make you feel right at home. We had everything we needed, and given that they spend most of their time downstairs it's much more like having your own place than it is renting out a single room. Would highly recommend, and would definitely go back.

    Matthew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to just relax and get some work done. The house is beautiful and the owners are awesome people. There was never a moment I felt 'away from home' besides the fact they have dogs and I do not. I like dogs so they did not bother me much. Amanda and JJ were more then willing to aid me in any way I may have needed, even offering to pick stuff up from the store while they were out if I needed. The room was spotless and quiet. They even had a box fan already set out for that white noise I absolutely need to sleep well. Good thing since I forgot to pack one. Again, the house its self is beautiful. The pictures dont give it the proper justice. I would recommend that if you are in the area and need a place to stay this should be your spot. The room is very affordable but you also get a full kitchen and living room. There is much more to explain but my thumbs are getting tired of typing. Just take my word here they are probably the cheapest room you can find and give you much more then you paid for. I'm glad I stumbled across their listing and will absolutely stay here again if I get the chance to.

    Charles2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect place to get away! Amanda and JJ were very hospitable hosts and offered more amenities than I expected. They provided tips for local places to eat and explore. There is always someone there to answer any of your questions, but they also give you plenty of space for you to relax and enjoy the comforts of their home. Highly recommend if you are looking for this kind of Airbnb. Would stay here again!

    Jessica2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for one night and had a great time. The place is gorgeous, also Amanda is really friendly and helpful. As a solo female traveler I felt safe here.

    Jeanine2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the area! Really appreciate the tips on things to do. Very easy to talk to. Loved the dogs although a bit more dog hair than I’m used to. Very thoughtful details! Gave us the right amount of privacy. Roommate was very nice as well.

    Tara2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was so welcoming and friendly! I really enjoyed my stay at her place!

    Kristin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's place is located in a beautiful place surrounded by trees. Her cabin is very well taken care, her hospitality is out of the world. She had all different kinds of drinks and food in the fridge that was super fantastic. The room was just as described. Couldn't ask for a better place in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the neighborhood

Half-acre wooded lot with 88' of riverfront and gorgeous river view on the deep water of the Clarion River. Completely remodeled in 2019. Beautiful window-wall view of the river from the kitchen, living room, and sleeping loft. Big deck with wrap-around porch. Oak ceilings, hickory laminate floors, chestnut kitchen cabinets, skylights in loft. New motion floodlights from Bungalow to the Clarion River. Large riverfront deck with lights and electric. Enough off-street parking for 4-6 cars.
It's on the 2019 Pennsylvania River of the Year, the same Clarion River that now graces its own USPS stamp. This splendid Clarion River Bungalow now has it all to match its has-it-all riverfront location, which is about 5 minutes from downtown Clarion. The Bungalow is also less than 10 minutes from Clarion University, Walmart, and Clarion Oaks Golf Course.
It's all about the Clarion River!

  • Ken and Laura were amazing hosts. Their cottage left us wanting or needing nothing at all - they have everything right there for you. The bed was very comfortable and we spent most of our time by the fireplace. The cottage is private and wooded, yet close to the main road. We were very thankful that they had k-cups waiting for us as we forgot our own. We hope that come back for another stay sometime soon. We highly recommend Cozy Oaks!

  • Cozy cabin with everything you need. Ken was awesome to work with and was so helpful during our stay.

    Vanessa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy Oaks is an ideal location for a get away for a couple or a single individual. The amenities are modern with a touch of old school. There is an all-American spareness to it. The bed was unbelievably comfy. It is nicely accessible to the side, off the main road. The host is easy to communicate with, which means quite a bit to me. I would go back there for sure, and recommend it without hesitation as one of the better Airbnbs likely to be found in that area.

    David2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The wonderful cabin in a quiet and peaceful place gave me the wonderful time. The hosts responded very quickly but everything was perfect so we contacted only for checking in.

    Irina2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cabin for a getaway. The host responded quickly to all my questions. The location was exactly what we wanted. The extra touches like snacks and water and coffee waiting for us after our trip were wonderful. We would definitely stay again.

This fully furnished cabin sleeps 8! Lovely rustic cabin to enjoy the peace and total privacy of Cook Forest in Northwestern Pa. 2 bedrooms with one Queen bed, 2 sets of Bunk Beds and a full sleeper sofa. Bath with shower, full kitchen. Remote, but minutes from activities and shops.
This cabin is very secluded and private. Nothing but relaxation and peaceful quite. You will need 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle to reach this property. Only 1/2 mile to the Clarion River, and 3 miles to Cook Forest.
The Neighborhood is total Forest. No other cabins within site. Very private.
  • Nancy’s place was the perfect retreat in the forest. It had everything we needed, was clean and welcoming. Nancy was quick to respond to all of our messages. The cabin was close to everything in Cook Forest

    Joscelyn2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a secluded getaway that is also surprisingly close to all of the area attractions, this is the place for you! The drive to the cabin makes the trip!

    Anthony2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. No other houses in view. The driveway is one that you definitely want a 4WD SUV or truck as a car frame will not be able to make it to the lodging. There is WiFi, but do not plan to have super fast access. It was perfect for what we wanted: able to get away somewhere quiet and decompress, but able to check email and do basic web searches. We saw 7 deer within an hour of each other from inside the house the one evening. It is such a wonderful place, we are already making plans to come back in the summer when we can enjoy the sun porch and fire pit.

    Andrea2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! We had a wonderful weekend!

    Jeanene2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a remote secluded cabin this place is for you! You definitely need at least a small SUV with AWD to get to it, but that only added to the adventure aspect. We were traveling 2 adults, a senior dog and a 5 1/2 month old baby and found the space to be adequate but cozy. The cabin was very clean and it was wonderful that we could go on hikes without having to get in the car. We enjoyed our stay and have discussed going back next year.

    Kelly2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful getaway from the hassle of every day life. Cabin was very cosy and very very clear. Especially for being in the woods. No bugs or critters either. We hope to go back.

    Gena2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was absolutely perfect for a quiet and relaxing get away. The cabin itself is beautiful and clean, and comes with basically everything you need besides food and beverages. The nearby hiking trails were a treat. There was an outdoor fire pit and an indoor fireplace with wood for both. Being that we came in October we used the indoor fireplace which made the cabin extra cozy, but there is also a furnace to heat the place if needed. Nancy was very quick to respond with any questions we had and offered help if needed. The driveway as stated in other reviews is rough, but I thought it added to the rustic adventure we were looking for. We had no problems getting in or out of the driveway, even after it had rained a bit. Overall would definitely recommend, and hope to go back in the future!

  • We celebrated our 1st Anniversary and Valentines weekend at the cottage. It was a great getaway from our busy lives. Our dog enjoyed running around and playing in the huge yard as well. Maria was very responsive to anything that came up. We can’t wait to come back in the summer with our children and check out the other properties on the grounds.

    Aaron2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Maria's cottage was the perfect weekend getaway, its close enough to anything you might need, but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Even on a snowy weekend, the place was easy to access, warm, and homey. We'll definitely consider it again for future weekends away.

    Jan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Maria greeted us at the door, showed us around and gave us some great tips for local places to check out. She was super friendly and quick to respond throughout the whole booking process. The cabin was very clean, rustic and cozy. We enjoyed taking a walk on the property around the ponds and visiting a few local restaurants.

The original front door is via a covered wooden porch which features a swing, tables & chairs and leads directly into the living room. From the living room there is a hallway leading to the master bedroom and middle bathroom. The 2nd guest bedroom is accessed from the living room together with the 2-part loft sleeping area via an open wooden staircase. The side entrance is located off the patio and accesses into the dining room. Although the cabin is primarily for vacation purposes there are tables in both the dining room and kitchen which provide ample space for using a laptop with good lighting and numerous electrical sockets in close vicinity. Note: Both bathrooms comprise of a toilet, sink and shower. Enjoy various wildlife close by the cabin and on the grounds including a variety of birds, herds of white-tail deer both morning & evening, possums, wild turkey and many others.
Cook Forest State Park is a popular vacation area located in the Pennsylvania Wilds (Northwest PA) attracting people from across PA as well as neighboring States. The main vacation time is between Memorial Day and Labor Day which is when the majority of local amenities are open. The area is also popular at other times of the year such as holiday weekends (Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year) and during the various hunting and fishing seasons. Winter time is also a great time to escape the city and snuggle up in a log cabin in front of a roaring fire so we take bookings all year round.

All 5 star reviews, superhost status! Small intimate log cabin that lives large in the heart of Cook Forest. Minutes from Clarion , Cooksburg and Leeper. No phone, no TV, no internet, sketchy cell service, Cook Forest as it’s meant to be!
Great things come in small packages. This log cabin is very well appointed. Attention has been paid to every detail. The vaulted ceilings provide a space that feels very open and airy.
Deadwood is moments away from the beautiful CLARION river, designated a national scenic waterway. You are only minutes away from two trailheads, the historic BAKER trail and the NORTH COUNTRY trail. You can easily walk to the river and cross the Gravel Lick bridge over the Clarion River.
  • Cabin looks better than the pictures! Great secluded location.

    Carl2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, super clean and well-appointed cabin near Cook’s Forest. Best for couples or families with 2-3 children who are old enough to climb ladder to sleep in loft. Easy to cook outside on grill or fire pit or inside on small oven/stove. Upscale small kitchen with very nice dishes, pots, pans, etc. Jean though of everything! Great place for quiet reading, writing, and playing games. Loved being able to disconnect from TV, internet & cell phones (no Verizon signal).

  • The cabin was the perfect size for 3 adults. I loved it! The loft is super cute and cozy, but probably not suitable for those afraid of heights or with mobility issues. The larger outdoor fridge was a pleasant surprise...I’m guessing it’s a fairly new amenity.

  • Beautiful house, great layout, nicely decorated, well taken care of. Lovely property, we especially loved the creek a few steps away in the backyard. There are lots of little details in the cabin that make it feel very cozy and welcoming. And the amount of light that pours in through the windows was especially enjoyable in the middle of February. Dave and Lisa are excellent hosts!

    Patty2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I just visited Dave’s place with a few friends to celebrate my 40th birthday, and the place was even nicer than I’d hoped. I brought all kinds of extra stuff in fear that we might run out of some basics, but they had everything; a huge closet of towels, all kinds of paper towels and plates, a variety of spices in the kitchen and all kinds of cooking gadgets I didn’t expect. I was worried for absolutely nothing! The hot tub was great, and it started snowing hard while we were out on the back porch hanging out. It was so beautiful that we felt like we were in a snow globe! The fireplace was big and beautiful too, and the furnishings were largely artisanal and make of gorgeous hardwood. Every room had its own additional heat source, and all my friends said that their beds were very comfortable. There was a stack of extra sleeping bags and pillows up in the loft, too, so really I could have arrived with just food and pajamas and I wouldn’t have needed anything else. At some point an unscheduled ping pong tournament occurred as well. I could go on for a long time about the fancy fire pit, the nice grill, the ample parking, the convenient but private location, but I gotta stop somewhere. Just book the thing, you won’t regret it.

    Ramsey2020-02-15T00:00:00Z

  • I can’t say enough about this cabin! We rented this space for the weekend to celebrate our son’s 16th birthday. He brought four of his friends, and my husband and I were there to supervise and cook. When we checked in, we got a phone call from Dave to walk us through how everything worked. I really appreciated that, and found it very helpful. We didn’t have to pack much , except clothing and food, which was awesome. There was enough space so the boys could hang out and we didn’t get in their way. The hot tub and game room really added to the fun. There are three TV’s, a DVD player and DVDs to watch. For the size of the space , and the amenities provided , the price is a great value. Dave and Lisa’s cabin is beautifully decorated, clean, and a great place to spend time. We will definitely be back!

    Jennifer2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dave was very helpful, letting us know right away about the hot tub needing a last minute clean. He also came on our second day to make sure it was up and running nicely! Very nice place to stay with our young kids and adults too. Thank you!

  • Words can’t express the amazing time we had for Christmas. This home exceeded our expectations. The Christmas decorations and tree was beautiful. Dave and his wife went above and beyond to provide everything you would need. I would recommend this home to any and everyone and you won’t be disappointed. The weather was perfect. The game room was a plus for our family. The rooms where cozy and the hot tub was a plus as well. The land was amazing with the creek being a awesome site. This is one Christmas we will never forget. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

  • This place was incredible. My friends and I (8 of us total) came to Barbara and Tom's cabin for a long weekend trip. We thought we knew what to expect from the photos, but it was so much better. The cabin is a lot bigger than it looks and when you walk in you immediately feel at home. We were worried about being cold, especially in Februar, but we found ourselves opening windows because the fireplace kept the cabin so warm. It was fantastic, especially as I freeze easily. We didnt get to meet Barbara, but her husband Tom was there for the weekend. Tom is awesome! He is a relaxed guy that is very accommodating and has a great sense of humor. It snowed pretty hard while we were there and he helped us get our bags down the hill on our last day with his truck when our van couldnt handle it. We would absolutely stay here again. We all agreed that the cabin was our favorite part of our weekend (we were there for different events in town). Definitely stay here if you are thinking about it! Side Note: do not take their listings note for four wheel drive lightly. It might be easier in the summer, but it got a little slick in the winter. Our truck handled it the first day, but we had issues after it snowed hard. Thankfully Tom's truck was able to handle it for our bags. We were more than happy to walk up the hill and take in some of the beautiful views, but make sure your car can handle it.

There you will find a gas station and small grocery store as well as a few restaurants and bars. Foxburg is up the road another 5 mins and offers the Allegheny Grille situated on the riverfront, winery, seque tours, pizza shop, chocolate shop, historic golf course, library and an inn. The Wright River Retreat is a stone cottage situated on 18.5 forested acres on the West bank of a private cove of the Clarion River. The Wright Retreat is a destination for all four seasons (as can been seen in the pictures). Whether it's a beautiful sunrise off of the river on a spring morning, a swim in the refreshing river in the summertime, a boat ride on the river to look at the fall foliage, or a ski through the snow-covered hemlocks, the Wright Retreat has something for every season.
The Wright Retreat cottage is located on an 18.5-acre tract of forest land on the Shippenville side of the Clarion River, however, it is less than 10 minutes from downtown Clarion, Clarion University, Walmart, and Clarion Oaks Golf Course. The National Park Service North Country Hiking Trail is also less than a 5-minute drive from the Cottage, as is Interstate 80. The Cottage is also a perfect place for small parties and events, such as weddings, bridal showers, family reunions, and the like (upon request).
The private Wright River Retreat stone cottage is located at the end of a half-mile private lane on an 18.5-acre tract of forest land on the Shippenville side of the Clarion River, however, it is less than 10 minutes from downtown Clarion, Clarion University, Walmart, and Clarion Oaks Golf Course.
  • Bryan and Liz were wonderful hosts. The property is gorgeous. It is wonderful to feel so far removed from everything, yet be within 5-10 minutes away from "civilization." The view of the river can't be beat. The cozy cabin, beautiful fireplace, spiral staircases, and rich history are unrivaled. Our only regret it not coming during warmer temperatures so as to take full advantage of the magnificent front porch.

  • This a beautiful cabin with a large porch facing the clarion river. There is a large gas grill for cooking outdoors, and if you choose to stay in, the kitchen provides you with everything you need including a cupboard full of seasonings. There are 2 bathrooms with showers, no tub, one downstairs and one upstairs located off the master bedroom. Bedrooms are located in the loft( not closed) on opposite sides of the cabin. Master bath has a washer and dryer. The host provided many extras : books , games, movies, laundry soap for the washer, clean towels and linens, and cleaning supplies. There are steps leading down to a dock at the river and canoes and paddles if you choose to be adventurous . The main space in the cabin is set up comfortably, providing different cozy areas all within the same great room. Also, there is great phone reception ( I have Verizon) and WiFi . The cabin is very secluded but not far from the main road. You would need a 4 wheel drive if going here in the snow. We had a wonderful weekend here.... Just look at the listing ... the pictures say it all !

  • You will enjoy the water and the water views from the large deck.

    Colin2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Best place on the River! We had two families. The kids loved the water and rope swing. Adults loved hanging out on the front porch. We brought boats and the dock makes it very convenient. WiFi works good and you also get good cell service. Very easy to get to off of I80. We also found a local business that allowed us to leave our boat trailers so we didn’t have to take them down the road to the cabin. We seen lots of deer and turkey. We are already planning our 2020 trip.

This is a lovely, freshly renovated, cape cod style home on 5 acres located near a great golf course, Cooks Forest and Clear Creek State Park and the Allegheny National Forest. Only 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh and 2 hours from Ohio border. Outside deck leads to 16’x32’ in-ground pool, charcoal grill and fire pit.
This is a place to RELAX! Great views from deck, the stars are amazing and deer sightings every night! We have WiFi and Directv if you can’t stand the quiet. Many, many great trails and canoeing in nearby Cook’s Forest. 20 min drive to Clarion University and 3 miles from Clear Creek State Park. Golfers!! Lovely Pinecrest Country Club is 10 minutes from house and is open to the public.
Located on a beautiful and quiet country road in Jefferson County near all the great activities offered by Cooks Forest and Clear Creak State Park. But you really don’t need to go anywhere- relaxing on the deck by the pool is great too!
  • Beautiful country setting, the house is decorated beautifully, you can tell she loves the place! It is well maintained and has everything you can think of!

    Anna2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house and location was perfect for relaxing! The pool, patio furniture and fire pit were great features outside. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs, and Ruth Ann was so accommodating towards them! The inside was very charming and the main floor was so spacious with a wonderful open floor plan! The bedrooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was neat and tidy, and she even included tons of brochures and dining/attraction suggestions. It was nice having an idea of what's good around the area. This is definitely the perfect place if you're looking to get away and relax!

    Stephanie2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to get away for the weekend.

    Dan2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • A group of 7 went to celebrate my husband's birthday during Memorial day weekend and we were blown away with how awesome Ruth Ann was at accommodating us! The house is in pristine condition, super quaint and cute, and has an amazing HEATED private pool! Secluded with no close neighbors, but still 15 mins driving distance to the main road (food, beer, gas, activities), it was the perfect location! Surrounded by an open field and wooded area, all you hear is the occasional tractor and the birds chirping. The house is fully stocked with anything you would need, we only needed to bring food and drinks. Equipped with a laundry station, charcoal grill on a side deck, poolside bonfire, and a great kitchen. Bedrooms were a good size and the beds were cozy! Everything was super clean and decoratively up-to-date. Bathrooms were stocked with toiletries, and the kitchen has all the supplies you will need for indoor cooking and grilling! They also had firewood and kindling for the bonfire. It's located in a tranquil little town with cute activities all around, everything is outlined in a welcome binder on the property. Cell phone service is not so good (Verizon, T-Mobile), but there is a landline there that you can use. There is also Wi-Fi, DirecTV, and a RoKu set up for watching TV and movies. It was the perfect little getaway! We loved our stay and can't wait to go back!

Shady Pines Cottage is just off of Route 36 in Tionesta Township. The minute you make the turn from Route 36, you immediately enter an old country lane with stone and gravel. The lane is a beautiful cul-de-sac with trees of every kind, and only a dozen properties or so that are spaced far apart from one another. Shady Pines Cottage is one of only a few properties available year round. The cottage is quiet and private. Folks never bother you. Sometimes they wave hello from the lane but don't always see you because the porch sits so far back from the lane. Chances are you will enjoy the amazing front porch more than you realize. Deer, turkey, and a fox all come through the front of the property on a regular basis. There are numerous turkey early every morning. Enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the porch swing while watching squirrels and chipmunks run back and forth between the trees. There are incredibly beautiful birds of all species throughout the trees on the property, and the large pine trees surround you in the front, so the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks all come pretty close to the porch. There's nothing quite like watching the sun come up in the morning through our trees and beautiful flower gardens out front. Although the front of the property is very large and sits back a nice distance from the lane, the side and backyards are enormous. Behind the backyard are woods with a private pathway and walking trail. A very generous and well-proportioned 2 acres! Whenever family and friends come to visit, they enjoy the property so much that no one ever wants to leave to visit other places in the area. The property is truly beautiful year round in every season.
  • Very cozy, and the decor is truly one of a kind! The view is beautiful in the morning after a night of snow. So serene. They had anything we needed and then some! Thank you so much again!

    Amanda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This home is so comfortable and cosy. It has everything you could need. We felt so relaxed, and went on some beautiful hikes in the forest. I’m hoping we can visit again for a beautiful get-away and retreat.

    Lily2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! Immediately upon opening the door there was wine and chocolates there to welcome us to Ted’s home. It was sparkling clean and they provide everything you need including pots and pans , towels, bed linens, dishes, and silverware. This was my first time booking through Airbnb and this certainly set the bar high for any future bookings. Likely will return to this little slice of paradise.

    Olivia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage! Kept us nice and warm in the middle of winter.

    Mairead2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is everything we hoped for and more. It truly feels like a home away from home. My girlfriend and I decided just a few days before Christmas to spend the holiday here. It was decorated to perfection, and Ted even left us a christmas card, wine, and some sweets. Perfect for me, as I love wine and sweets. The home comes with a fully equipped kitchen. I mean FULLY. It has EVERYTHING. We prepared christmas and christmas eve feasts, it was amazing. The homey touches and decorations really make this place. The board games, the books, the dvds. We took full advantage of all of these leisure activities. We wanted to get away and clear our heads and relax... and I can honestly say... I never had such a great time doing nothing!

    Jon2019-12-26T00:00:00Z

  • Roy and Darlene’s place was amazing, stunning, gorgeous — All of the above! I wanted a private, secluded stay for a solo wkend getaway from the city, and it fulfilled all of my expectations and more. Upon entering, I internally said “Wow,” as it is beautifully crafted and decorated with thoughtful touches and style. And, it was spotless - Double wow. Roy and Darlene were also quick with responses, super sociable, and while I wasn’t able to meet them (they were away), they did not hesitate to invite me back to meet them. So sweet and gracious! I definitely highly recommend! 👍🏼👍🏼

  • Exactly as advertised

  • If you are looking for a cozy getaway to rest your heads while scoping out the Forest, this is the place to be! Jules and his son go out of their way to make their guests comfortable, and are great to chat with! The back deck, the woods around you, the lack of television to distract you are just a few things which lend themselves to a wonderful “recharge” here at the Brass Lantern.

  • If you want to get away from it all and relax in nature, this is a great place to do that. Excellent value, fine people, and everything you need.

    Tommy2018-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our first time in the area so the lodge is a the perfect rustic but comfy place to stay. Jules was always available to help with hiking suggestions, local info, etc. We particularly liked hanging out on the porches & decks as well as the blazing bonfire last night.

  • I brought tablet, used their wify so we can watch movie through Netflix, nice deck since I'm smoking , bar and restaurant 10 minutes from there. Clean rooms

  • Thank you for an enjoyable stay. I loved the bonfire and sitting by it and star watching as the full moon rose.

Our 2 houses are nestled among hickory and walnut trees creating a peaceful, quiet atmosphere . Each window of the rustic Carriage House has a different view of the country beauty. The picture windows showcase the shady pond where lily pads abound. Read a book on the cute bridge over the ponds or fish along the banks. The private Jacuzzi tub of the large ground floor bathroom are an added benefit to this listing.
Our property boasts of a large event barn built in 1899! The beautiful Farm house is original to the property and is well preserved and furnished accordingly. The Carriage House was renovated into the guest house it is today in the mid-90's. The original stone foundation is exposed on the lower level and the original wood-framed roofing peaks in cathedral style--it is truly one-of-a-kind! We host guests at both house and for large groups we can coordinate a rental of the whole property for added intimacy.
The quiet country road has a collection of farms and houses. The overall atmosphere is quite peaceful.
  • Great place. Views were amazing. After a long day of traveling it was exactly what we needed. Waking up and having coffee with views of the pond was relaxing.

  • The Carriage House has all the basics covered. It feels like home, with lots of farm country charm. It's set in a quiet and picturesque setting. The night skies were filled with stars and the only sounds are those of geese flying over and the clip-clop of Amish buggies passing by. Maria is a very accommodating and responsive host. A great, relaxing stay!

  • My friends and I drove from Detroit to see Punxsutawney Phil & stayed at Maria’s on the way. We all were amazed at how cozy it was!! The sauna and jacuzzi were our favorite, & the booklet on “bundling”. Maria was such a friendly and helpful host, everything was very clean and comfortable! We can’t wait to return!

  • Awesome time, exactly what we were looking for!

    Donny2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third time staying at the Carriage House and, once again, it met all expectations. I am a frequent user of vrbos and there is always a little trepidation when entering for the first time, but this property is actually more beautiful than the pictures!!

    Danielle2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at The Carriage House. All the basics have been thought of and are available from basic kitchen supplies, towels, extra blankets, heaters and camping lights. We stayed during the first real chilly weekend of fall but stayed warm by the fire pit or in the warmth of the charming house. We loved roaming the property and fishing with our kiddo and dog. We can’t wait to stay again this summer to enjoy the pool. Highly recommend!

  • It's our second time staying at the cabin in Allegheny National Forest. We love that it's completely isolated, nobody else around at all, yet only a short drive from Marienville if we need anything. The North Country Trail runs along the back of the property and is great for any length of hike you feel up to. Perfect for a fall weekend away from town.

  • If you want some space back in the woods this is the place. It's friendly, quiet and extremely clean. Amanda made the directions very clear and we found the place easy, even coming in at night. We hit the trails during the day and cooked a big dinner and made smores in the firepit outside. Lovely place. Highly recommend to anyone.

    Kavita2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's cabin was very comfortable for our group. We enjoyed sitting on the deck while grilling food and soaking in the greenery all around the house. There are some great trails within walking distance or a short drive, and small markets close to the area. I would definitely try to stay there again in the future.
