  • Quaint and lovely spot along the river. Liz was a thoughtful and respectful host. Definitely recommend

  • The place is so quiet and beautiful! Plus, it is very nice to see the birds in the morning! I will definitely go back in summer!

  • LIz 's place is an amazing home away from home. I had long-term stay with Liz since I had to work at Springfield hospital for a month. I had night and day shifts and Liz's place was a comfortable place to come home to. The place is clean and plenty of space for me and my stuff and the host was very accommodating. The kitchen is stacked with pots/pans/plates and utensils that I was available to use. Liz has lots of tips about restaurants and place to visit, even where to get your car fixed since my car broke down while I was there. I would definitely recommend her place and I will definitely stay here again.

  • Great place to camp! Dennis and his wife are lovely people. There is a clean bathroom, outdoor shower and a common room inside their bed and breakfast that you can use their keureg, use a real bathroom and hang out during the day time. My wife and I had a great experience!

    Will2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A dream for any camper on the road looking for a quaint, quiet stay! We pitched our tent right alongside a small garden, fire pit, and an apple tree. Dennis offers an outdoor shower and sink as well as the cleanest and freshest outdoor toilet I’ve ever encountered! Access to some of the amenities inside the guesthouse make this such an outstanding value. Be sure to check the rich history of the town of Acworth as well as the house itself! Would stay here again anytime!

    Nicole2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have been more pleased with this space! The gardens and yard are so beautiful and Dennis was amazingly kind---hospitality through the roof! He went out of his way many times to make sure we were comfortable, above and beyond what we expected for just camping out back of a guesthouse. This place is such a treat, don't miss staying here!!

Tiny house with a twist -- it's a train! Well-appointed caboose in peaceful setting on a certified tree farm located just a few miles from I91 & 89, with easy access to attractions in both New Hampshire and Vermont: Dartmouth College, Mount Ascutney, Lake Sunapee, two national parks, covered bridges, hiking, biking, hang gliding and more... Enjoy 'smores by the fire pit and cool off in our large private pond during the summer - or come leaf-peeping in the fall. Available 6/15-10/15.
Retired B&M caboose with authentic stove and railroad memorabilia.
Claremont is a small city in west central NH. Our property is rural, but it's only 2 miles from historic downtown and major shopping corridor.
  • I would HIGHLY recommend Liza's place to an individual or couple traveling in the area. A unique and wonderful experience. Drive through the gorgeous New Hampshire countryside, walk around the farm, meet the animals, and stay in a train caboose! We stayed there for two nights and wish we could have stayed two more. The property is beautiful, quiet, and only a 10 minute drive into town. The caboose is very private and clean. Great views of the rolling meadows, and peaceful forest right outside the front door.

    Sean2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This authentic caboose was very charming, but you do need to be able to walk a short distance and climb into the caboose. If you are looking for a place to get away from the hussle and bustle of city life, this is a great place to do it.

    Karen2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Most definitely my most memorable AirBnB stay! It's not very often you get to stay in a vintage railroad car! The car had everything we needed for out visit to the area and it's location on a beautiful farm was an added bonus. Liza was a great host and had excellent local information! She was also incredibly responsive to our questions and needs. I will definitely be a return guest.

    Warren2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The caboose is the best place we have stayed. It was off by itself, cozy, and we felt right at home - there was everything we needed to cook simple meals, shower, and some board games and a Bluetooth speaker which made the rainy evening in special as well. Liza and her husband are awesome, we chatted for a bit on our last evening before walking the lit path to the caboose. And we got to meet their animals, who were adorable and friendly. We were definitely well taken care of and the caboose is close to plenty of great hiking and things to do. Perfect spot for a long weekend!

    Almeda2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very unique and fun experience for my nephew and I. Liza's place was absolutely perfect, very well kept up. this was one of our greatest and best experiences or we had Liza went out of her way to help us out show us around the farm we got to meet all of the Little critters. Liza and her family a great wonderful people I would recommend this to anybody that's looking to get away for unique stay. Her communication was absolutely the best from day one she was able to answer all my questions and then some. The caboose was a nice little cozy place set on the farm where they have their home but it's private secluded but easy to get to. My nephew and I are looking forward to staying there in the future again. We could not be any more happier with Liza hospitality and just overall positive nature.

    Matthew2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! So much more than a unique getaway. A restful adventure. Thank you so much!

    Richard2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great Space for a long weekend. Very unique in a beautiful area. Would go back.

    Alexandra2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our stay, the memories from this will be with us always. It was such a unique experience that anyone that is in this area needs to experience. Liza was so accommodating to us before and during the stay. We were in the area from Pennsylvania for a three day event that was about 45 minutes from the caboose, and it was well worth the drive every day. One of my favorite things was coming back at night and the path to the caboose being all lit up. Liza had many extra added touches throughout the caboose that made it feel just like home . We enjoyed it so much - we contacted Liza during our stay to add another night!

Take a break from cities and enjoy social isolation in nature! Air exchange system and super sanitized between guests. If you’re healthy, come recreate on land or water. If you’re sick, you are welcome here to recover, just alert host so proper protection can be worn during cleaning and disinfecting after your stay. Water views from all rooms inside. Easy access to I-91. Private entry under a covered patio space which includes a grill and outdoor seating. Fire pit, too.
While this space is perfect for anyone who wants a get-away--a place to relax, meditate, go fishing, write, listen to birds or the chance to see a bald eagle--the unique attraction and outstanding quality here is the river, and a myriad of ways to enjoy it: grill and dine outside, enjoy a campfire, pitch a tent and sleep under the stars, relax on the dock, take out a kayak or pedal boat, or bring your own boat (the launch is 5 miles south) and you can moor it here. Inside is a studio-style main room. The kitchen area has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, Keurig, hot plates, pots/pans/dishes, toaster, and toaster oven. Pantry and fridge are stocked with all the basics and much more. Continental breakfast items provided, or order off a brunch menu! A multi-purpose table with two chairs allows you to eat inside and watch the river, or use it as a work space/desk. The smart HDTV is a 43" flat screen surround sound, Blu-ray DVD player (Please bring your own cable/satellite, sling or streaming subscription information to access your favorite channels). DVDs, games, books, and puzzles available. Day bed is great for naps or an extra guest. Air mattress can be set up for a third bed. The bedroom has a view of the river, too, a queen-sized bed, ample closet/hanging space. Birds are grand amusement in the morning. It is possible to camp here as well, so two can sleep inside, and two outside. Possibilities abound. The bathroom includes a tiled rain shower, multi-purpose sink for washing up dishes, and linens/soaps you may need. Radiant floor heating through-out the apartment, and it stays nice and cool in the summers. Bedroom is air-conditioned in the summer. Modern ventilation system throughout home keeps air clean and fresh.
The Odyssey is on state-maintained route 5, Connecticut River Road, which is home to several small organic vegetable farms and farm stands, a few dairy cows, maple syrup producers, a Christmas tree farm. This 10-mile stretch of road connects the towns of Windsor, Weathersfield, and Springfield. Within 10 minutes is a small grocery store (Ralph's in Charlestown), several local restaurants, bike trails, hiking opportunities at Mount Ascutney. Okemo, Dartmouth/Hanover/Norwich are 35 minutes away.
  • Liz’s place was *perfect* for our ski weekend. It is only 30 min from Okemo and an hour from Killington. Her place allows guests a private entrance in back, with a convenient lock box. Your view is of the river - beautiful! The queen bed is very comfortable and the bedroom has a charming seaside theme. Plenty of closet space. She keeps it sparkling clean and fresh. She has thought of pretty much everything and provides a well stocked pantry and fridge (!) , kitchen appliances, cleaning supplies, binder of recommendations, laundry machines, local homemade maple soap, a chalkboard note to welcome us by name, etc. Our two kitties came with us and were very happy and relaxed there. Would love to return!

  • Liz is a fantastic host! She was so quick with responses and had everything set up when we arrived. The place was so clean and organized. Her “special touches” made our stay even more enjoyable. The view from this place is incredible and it’s a great escape from the busy everyday life which is just what my fiancé and I needed! Also love that it’s dog friendly. Our dog Jax had a blast running in the snow! Thanks again Liz!

  • Liz's place is in one fabulous location with a grand view of the Connecticut River. Liz is the greatest of hosts. The bedroom has one very comfortable bed mattresses. A wonderful yard where you can hang out in peace and enjoy the cutest critters that come out to eat treats. Everything you need (and more) it there. You can leisurely paddle up and down the river or go for a swim if so inclined. We loved it.

    John2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third time staying at Liz's peaceful apartment. You cannot beat the amenities that Liz provides or the peaceful view of the river. It's a wonderful place for a vacation.

    Susan2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The CT River Odyssey is a wonderful place to enjoy relaxation with an amazing view of the river. Liz is a great host and provides you with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Making S’mores by the fire pit and being visited by the resident chipmunks was a favorite of the kids. You will have a great time here!

    Alyssa2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our best Airbnb experience so far. We loved eating brunch on the patio, watching the chipmunks dilligently collecting food from the bird feeder, toasting marshmallows over the fire, kayaking/paddle-boarding/pedal-boating along the river... it was the perfect place to relax for a few days. Liz is an excellent host!

Off-grid yurt in the woods. Get away from the Coronavirus pandemonium and hide out in the middle of nowhere. A perfect spot for shelter in place quarantine. Keep warm by the wood stove. Hike on the many miles of trails right outside the door. Have a fire in the fire pit. Get back in touch with a simpler life.
The yurt is barebones. Only a futon , 2 shelves, and a woodstove are in it. You will need to provide cooking supplies, bedding, lighting and water. Very pretty glamping bug out location. Feel free to spread out and use the firepit, tent platform, and explore the forests. Be prepared for a camp like experience. There is no running water on site. Bugs, rain, snow, mud, etc. outdoors. Inside the yurt is beautiful.
Secluded, quiet location with miles of trails. Wonderful rivers, mountains, waterfalls, lakes, and forests.

Recently renovated apartment in historic house in the middle of charming Sunapee. Minutes to skiing in winter (deck view of Mt Sunapee) and state park beach in summer, walking distance to harbor. Very quiet, end of street surrounded by woods! Hear summer concerts in the park from the deck. 40 minutes' drive from Concord, Hanover; 30 from Claremont, 60 from Manchester airport. Looking for guests who will respect the property and other tenants. We prefer not to have children under ten years old.

The Monet-Metcalf is an exposed-beam 1888 cottage, and is located on the 19th C. Cornish Art Colony estate of The Butternuts. We're nestled along the CT River in pastoral Cornish, NH, while only minutes from Dartmouth and a region rich in historic, artistic, natural and intellectual sites and events in both VT & NH. Cornish is the town that mesmerized Augustus Saint Gaudens, Maxfield Parrish, Willard Metcalf and J.D. Salinger—we think you'll understand why. Killington and Sunapee skiing nearby!
This 1888 cottage, built by our Great Aunt and Uncle, is on 36 acres on a bluff above the CT River. There is easy access to the BnB from Rte 12 A, which is just beyond the pines on the outer edge of the front lawn of the property. This cozy, 2-story space has two bedrooms tucked under the eaves on the second floor, and a living room, eat-in kitchen with full amenities, and the bathroom (large shower, no bathtub) on the first floor. For swimming, boating and fishing, there is direct CT River access provided by the town of Cornish, just south of our property. We do have air conditioning on the second floor if needed in the summer months.
We are situated in the heart of the Upper Valley, a buzzing four-season cultural area punctuated with picturesque New England towns and landscapes. Please refer to the guidebook map for our suggestions for the best hikes, lakes, skiing, excellent dining, shopping (tax free in New Hampshire!), apple-picking, kayaking, local breweries and distilleries, and more!
  • Jo is an excellent host! She is very easy to communicate with and very acomidating. She even provided breakfast for my check in day, which was awesome as I worked the overnight at the hospital that previous night. She always made sure she didnt have any thing going on in the mornings when I came home from work. Its very nice to have a landloard that thinks of a quite environment for night nurses during the day. I also had to make some adjustments to my stay and she was acomidating to that as well! Jo is the best host I've ever had on air bnb. 10/10 would stay again!

  • Jo and Shawn are absolutely wonderful hosts!!! I had a tough time getting here my first night (3 tornadoes in CT) and Jo was so wonderful to wait up for me, leave me something to eat since I had been driving 12 hours, and greet me with a smile and a hug! The cottage is so cozy and the location is amazing!! I highly recommend staying here and seeing all this charming town has to offer!!!

    Jessica2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jo was an excellent host- very accommodating and always made sure I had everything that I needed. She made a point to let me know that she was available whenever I needed something. She even helped me out with the dog who was sick while I was away at work. The apartment itself was quaint and very quiet. Jo was more than open to discussing ways to improve the stay for those in the future. The house is in the middle of the woods, so there are some gnats/mosquitoes which can be expected. Overall an excellent experience, and if I find myself in the area again, I would love to stay with Jo!

This custom build apartment is located just 10 minutes from I91. In the winter you are 30 minutes away from some of the best skiing around. Located on 85 private acres with great views this is the perfect winter get away. In the summer you can relax by the firepit, hike in the woods, work in the gardens (just kidding), collect breakfast from the chickens or visit some of the local breweries. We are as close or as far away as you would like us to be with our house right next door.
  • A beautiful apartment with a country cabin feel. A great view from the back and a welcoming host. My wife and I had a relaxing stay and would recommend this to anyone going to stay in the area.

  • Awesome private apartment with a quick 30 minute drive to Okemo Mountain!

    Jordan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We chose this barn apartment for a ski weekend at Okemo Mountain. The pictures do not do the space justice at all. The drive up to the barn is beautiful in itself. The space is gorgeous, and the details provided by the host (farm fresh eggs! Hershey’s kisses! Coffee! A stocked medicine cabinet with toiletries!) were thoughtful and adorable. The barn is located a short drive to the mountain and the town of Chester has a couple of cute spots to eat (we loved Heritage Cafe for a pre-ski breakfast and coffee). Extra blankets and a postcard view....we loved it so much that we canceled our Airbnb for Burlington next month and rebooked with them for another ski weekend at Okemo next month.

  • Bethany’s property was absolutely beautiful. Tucked away up on the hill, it was a perfect escape but still close enough to everything you need. Although the snow made it a little tough to get up the driveway, she was super helpful in assisting our way in. The barn loft was very cozy, very clean and a very welcoming feel. There were all the amenities we needed to feel right at home. Communication was great start to finish. Loved the stay here and will absolutely be back to enjoy the warmer weather and explore all the private property! Thanks Bethany!

  • A very comfy and cozy studio with warm and thoughtful touches. The blankets were so comfortable and perfect to snuggle with. We were very at home in the studio with the thoughtful touches of fresh farm milk and eggs. We will definitely come back. I think it’s a great spot for any season. We went in the winter but I would love to come back anytime of year.

  • Bethany's is a super cute, large, studio apartment above her garage, and it's full of rustic touches like a sliding barn door on the bathroom and vintage quilt artwork. There were eggs from Bethany's chickens and fresh, raw milk for your coffee. We'd stopped at The Vermont Country Store just a few miles before and picked up some great cheese that we used in an omelette. Perfect! We had a Subaru, so no trouble getting up the snowy road. Bethany was very helpful when T-MOBILE failed to operate in Southern Vermont. If you use that carrier, make sure you do the old fashioned thing and write down your directions!

  • Kada's space is exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was the perfect place for us while we skied the days away and needed a relaxing comfortable space to come back to. It's great for a couple or a family looking for a private, relaxing environment. We would definitely book a stay here again.

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A warm, cozy home away from home set on a beautiful piece of land. Kada added special touches that added to the magic of our stay. Thank you 😊 Your thoughtfulness is appreciated!

  • Kada's home is a great place to stay for an Okemo ski weekend! 25 minutes from the mountain, the private apartment has a mini-kitchen (w/ coffee maker, refrigerator, plates/utensils, microwave), living room area, private bath and many thoughtful touches to ensure you have all you need.

    Lindsey2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, hosts were great and very prompt with responses. A few things to note is there is not a full kitchen and the house is at the end of a long unpaved road.

    Tim2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kada & her family were great hosts! The space was very clean and well put together. We enjoyed our stay during our Okemo ski trip.

    Brandon2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kada was great from the moment of booking until checking out. Gave us some great recommendations, and it was an easy drive to Okemo Mountain to ski.

    Aj2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kadas place was perfect for a couple days of skiing! Tucked in the woods, extremely cozy, very short and beautiful drive from Okemo!

    Stephen2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming hosts as well as beautifully lit fence/path on way up the driveway. Nice parking spot right outside apartment entrance. Awesome modern/rustic decor. It was a short two night stay for skiing at Okemo which was about 25-30 min away. So nice to come back to this cozy apartment, get warm and rested for the next day . I highly recommend this apartment and host. Hope to be back again

  • Great little apartment close to Sunapee. Very clean and cozy, and having a kitchen and coffee maker made breakfast super easy every day. Steve was also a very warm and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay near the Sunapee area.

    Charles2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great 1BR apartment located only a few minutes from Sunapee. We stayed during a big snowstorm, and Steve got up early to snowblow the driveway so we could get out and ski early. Having the bedroom upstairs away from the common area and kitchen was also a plus. Overall a great value and will definitely look to stay here again!

  • Perfect place for a moms’ weekend away! Quiet, clean and on an absolutely gorgeous property. We especially loved exploring the cider mill and taking a moonlight walk in the snowy fields. Also, Jamie’s recommendation of Saturday dinner at Skunk Hollow Tavern was perfect. The food was yummy and the atmosphere was quirky Vermont at its liveliest.

    Laura2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Picturesque, tranquil and so relaxing. Jamie provided everything for a wonderful escape in a beautiful cozy cabin. Warm roaring fire, walks on the trails in the snow, and quaint towns a short drive away. I’m already planning a return trip!

    Mary Ellen2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is stunning. It is tucked away in a cozy part of Vermont. Very remote and a perfect to escape the world. There are hiking trails on property and Jamie provided us snowshoes so we could get out and enjoy the surroundings. The fire place was super easy to use and made snuggling up on the couch extra awesome. Despite all the remoteness there are tons of restaurants about 15 minutes away and Jamie gave lots of recommendations.

    Sheila2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin exceeded our expectations. We didn’t want to leave! Gorgeous property and Jamie’s recommendations for food to enjoy in the area were perfect. We had plans to go out all evening and the place was so amazing we sat by the fire, enjoyed the views and played cards instead. We will definitely be back!

  • Ogden Mill Farm cottage is the perfect getaway. The cabin was just what we needed and wanted. In fact the cabin and surrounding farm exceeded our expectations. It was so lovely and quaint and the perfect getaway for my husband and I, sans children. We loved exploring the property and going into town to snowshoe up Mt. Tom as suggested by our host Jamie. I think my favorite moment was just sitting by the fire with the snow falling and good book. It was paradise. We hope to visit again and maybe we will share the experience with our children next time.

In the heart of Sunapee Harbor is “Topside”, a charming suite for guests who want to engage in the active Sunapee life. Topside is perfect for 2 people and cozy for 4. An efficient use of space offers a queen sized bed, pull out love seat couch(fourth sleeping area is a single-sized air mattress), kitchenette stocked with snacks and basic cooking needs, private bathroom, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, board games, and your own tree-top deck. Very clean, stylish, and comfortable!
Topside is a CLEAN space - after each guest stay we thoroughly wash and sanitize all linens, towels and surfaces to protect our in-coming guests. Your health is important to us!! During your time at Topside, we provide an activities guide for some ideas of "what to do" in the region. In the summer, enjoy a 2 minute stroll to the harbor and taste from the award-winning seasonal restaurants, while sitting on the town patio watching boats come and go. Walk or drive the 1 mile to private Dewey Beach for swimming and all forms of small boating. Or, bring your own boat to launch right in the harbor and park your trailer in our convenient driveway! For hikers, trail runners, or bikers, over 100 miles of a trail network system starts right out our driveway. In the winter, a 10 minute drive brings you to one of the most guest-centered ski mountains in New England. The “We Are Sunapee” experience excels in offering ski and riding instruction at The Learning Center. There are trails for all levels of skiers or riders, with excellent ski lodge accommodations.
We bought our home in Sunapee Harbor in the fall of 2017, envisioning sharing our “Common Cottage” and grounds with family, friends, and guests. The house was built in the early 1900s as a ship captain’s home for one of the captains of the steamers which brought early vacationers from the southern end of the lake to Sunapee Harbor. We imagine the guests on those steamers setting foot on the harbor dock and breathing in the fresh clean air, hearing the lapping of the pristine water, and feeling the sun on their backs. We also imagine our house captain smiling at the joy his venture brought to harbor guests. Wanting to carry that heritage forward, the heart of Common Cottage is to provide a place for people to engage in meaningful experiences.
  • A fantastic Airbnb property! Lisa and Peter are terrific, thoughtful hosts. Check-in/out simple and communication was clear and timely. Spotlessly clean, stylish, every comfort and detail considered. Location to local ski/snowboard resorts can't be beat. Had a great overnight stay and would do so again without hesitation.

    Gary2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Topside is super clean, cozy and has all of the amenities you will need! Lisa supplied a lot of snacks and information for surrounding things to do and see. She replied quickly to any messages and made us feel at home! Highly recommend and will be staying there again in the near future!!

  • Perfect spot during my snowboarding trip. Incredibly clean and organized. Breakfast basics stocked in the fridge, comfortable setting, cozy comfortable apartment. Small touches like travel sized toiletries in case you forgot something and phone chargers. Wonderful Airbnb can’t wait to stay here again.

    Andrew2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I decided to stay here since we had an early morning arrival at Mount Sunapee for a ski race. The convenient location was what we were looking for, but we would definitely return for an even longer stay since it was a wonderful and comfortable place to stay. Lisa was great to communicate with, her check-in instructions and driving details made our arrival very simple, even at night. The studio apartment has everything you need, and the small kitchen was perfect for us to make a quick breakfast before leaving. We did not meet the hosts, but plenty of information is left for the guests to get to know the Sunapee area.

    Kristin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is an amazing host who put a lot of thought into the space. My partner and I had a wonderful time, and would definitely go back!

  • Just about the best airbnb I've stayed at, home away from home. The big things: Very tidy and clean, no musty hotel smells Well stocked with bedding and toiletries Simple guidelines, reasonable asks Lisa is clearly a very thoughtful host. The little things: White noise machine, heat, and lights on when you walk in Snacks, coffee, and a few items in the fridge for you as a headstart before getting anything yourself Binder with details, info on some restaurants in the area Would look forward to booking again for a solo/small trip

Your private woodlands retreat awaits. Nestled atop a beautiful 10 acre meadow with 25 acres of woods for you to enjoy; this rustic cabin is a perfect romantic hideaway. Two trout ponds are steps from your door for fishing and swimming. Just a few minutes from Mt. Ascutney's hiking and mountain-biking trails and in the middle of fantastic cycling country. Sunset Cabin is a marvelous spot for enjoying fall foliage and exploring Vermont's quaint towns and covered bridges.
This is a magical place. The cabin is comfortable, rustic, and private, with brand new furniture, bedding, and linen. But what's special about it is it's extremely romantic setting overlooking meadows, ponds, gardens, mountains, and woods.
Hiking, mountain-biking, trail running, The Climb (www.theclimbfitness.com) (gym, indoor/outdoor pools) - 2 miles away. Dartmouth College and Hanover - 22 miles away. Year round activities - Okemo resort - 22 miles Killington resort - 33 miles Woodstock - 12 miles Quechee Gorge - 15 miles Harpoon Brewery - 8 miles
  • Well looked after cabin on their property. Beautiful scenery and quick responses to any questions about the area.

    Bryan2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sunset Cabin was the perfect place to unplug and relax, but also close enough to several restaurants and local attractions if that is also something you are interested in. We loved enjoying the property with our pups and unwinding at night in the peace and quiet. Can’t wait to enjoy a longer stay next time!

    Annette2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best airbnb I've ever stay with. Great heat, hot shower, amazing property and thoughtful touches throughout the space. It is indeed a magical gateway for us.

    Pei-Yi2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a quintessential Vermont getaway. The cabin had everything you could need with an added touch of rustic charm. We, along with our pup, enjoyed everything about the space. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy your loved ones and surroundings.

    Becca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest cabin in the world

    Linda2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is exactly what it says on the tin. No hidden surprises. A clean, remote, rustic, quiet, Vermont cabin. Bringing my partner here for a birthday weekend I was looking for somewhere the complete opposite of our current home in Boston and centralized to good food, good hiking, and good ... farm-going. This provided all of that and more. Highest possible recommendation for any couple looking to get away from the city and enjoy time in nature. Don't miss the Harpoon brewery up the road or the Path of Life Garden. Mt. Ascutney has tons of ascents, including driving, so can be as hard or easy as you like. Quechee Gorge is around the corner, as are tons of farms... Really, Sunset Cabin is the perfect getaway.

    Andrew2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was wonderful! My pup and I had an awesome time running free and exploring the property. The cabin is so charming and cozy, my fiancée is jealous she missed it so we’re planning a return trip!

    Connor2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sunset Cabin is an absolute treasure. Everything we needed and more. We were drawn to this property as our pup, while amazing, is often slow to warm with other people and dogs. This property was PERFECT for us (and pup!) Simple. Clean. And private as all heck. Be sure to feed the fish in the pond. It was a highlight for us each morning and evening!

The Artist's Loft is a very comfortable, one-bedroom BnB on our historic, Cornish Arts Colony property. The building is surrounded by woods and lawn on our 36 acre property. The view of Mt. Ascutney across the river and in VT is inspiring. The Artist's Loft is cozy, quiet, and comfortable in all seasons, with Rinnai heating in the cooler and cold months, and an air conditioner in the bedroom for summer. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and a day bed sofa in the living room.
The main house was an 1812 structure which was renovated by the splendid renovations of Boston architect Daniel Appleton in 1890, for the current owner's great Aunt and Uncle Beaman. The house has lovely, large spaces characteristic of Victorian summer houses of the time. The Beamans lived in New York City, but spent summers in "Little New York," as they and their friends called it, in Cornish. Later the summer residents came to be called the Cornish Art Colony, as many artists, writers, and composers sought refuge here from the stultifying summer heat of city life. The Cornish Art Colony flourished from 1882 to 1916; Cornish is nestled along the Connecticut River, which forms the boundary between NH and VT. There are many additional attractions from the Art Colony in our village, including Saint Gaudens' National Historic Site, which is across 12A from this location. The natural beauty is superb, including scenic views of the river, the covered bridge, Mt. Ascutney, and many hiking and walking trails.
Cornish is a quiet village, with no "town" center. The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge, just south of the Butternuts, is the longest two-span covered bridge in North America. The views of Mt. Ascutney from this property are superb. The Cornish boat landing and dock are just south of the property. Across the covered bridge is Windsor, VT, which has a grocery, pharmacy, excellent restaurants, quaint shops, a village green with weekly summer concerts, and the Artisans' Park, with its organic food offerings, canoe and raft rentals, Simon Pearce glassblowing facility, Harpoon Brewery with restaurant. Up Rte 12A from the property is the tax-free shopping of the West Lebanon shopping malls, and Hanover, NH, with Dartmouth College and many additional shops and restaurants. To the west, beyond Windsor, is Woodstock, VT, with its fine stores, restaurants and Pentangle Arts. Just across the river from West Lebanon is White River Junction, VT, which has art shops and craft shops, and is a flourishing arts center, including Northern Stage. Mt. Ascutney has numerous hiking trails, including those to the top, which has spectacular views. . On the hot days in summer, the swimming areas of Hartland dam and Wilder dam in Vermont are a short distance away, and are delightful spots along the Connecticut River. Cornish also has a boat dock on the CT River for kayaks or canoes, and this is just south of our property. The excellent skiing areas on Mt. Sunapee are thirty minutes southwest.
  • Definitely rustic but very clean slept great comfortable bed thank you so much for having your home available

  • I had a great stay at The Buttercups. A beautiful property and Jo is a wonderful host.

    Toni2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a woodsy place full of opportunities to relax in a natural setting. There is a compelling history to the property that shows in the old buildings. Jo makes every effort to see to your comfort. She brought us into the house because of water damage to the loft -- too much rain in New England this year. We shared stories and laughs over toast and jam.

    David2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • What I loved most about this place was our amazing host, Jo. She was so sweet, accommodating for us when arriving very late and she truly made us feel welcomed. The Artist's Loft had everything we needed for a fair price.

I live on a country dirt road in a 100+ year old New Hampshire farm house less than 5 miles from Mt Sunapee skiing and state beach. My guest accommodations feature a large private bedroom, private bath, and long private covered porch complete with rocking chairs. Guest quarts are separated from main house by shared entry with locking doors to each. Features a lovely view of the back side of Mt Sunapee, with nature pond and animals. Well-behaved and housebroken dogs on leash are considered.
The guest room has a large recliner that reclines almost flat and can serve as another bed in a pinch or watch TV/read near the lovely electric stove for extra heating in the winter. The large en-suite bathroom includes a large handicap accessible shower with seat. Need to do some work? We have a small work space as well as coffee, tea, and small fridge to keep you going! But don't forget to enjoy your time at Meadowsweet Farm, so make sure to use the private porch and take in the country air and watch the goats play.
I live in the rural small town community of Goshen, New Hampshire, population of 801, on a town maintained dirt road just off a tar road that locals call "the highway". It is in reality a winding road with homes dotted along it, leading to route 103 which directly runs to the Mt Sunapee Ski Resort and state beach. I am less than 5 miles from Sunapee Lake and another few miles from Sunapee Harbor. There are local restaurants, stores, quaint tourist attractions, and Sunapee Lake tours.
  • This was an ideal AirBnB experience. Heidi was available as needed but also respected our space and privacy. The room is very comfortable with a smart TV and space heater in addition to the Keurig stocked with coffee and tea which was so nice to have in the morning. And it was a joy to watch the goats out the window! We only stayed one night but it is definitely somewhere we want to return to! The location is fantastic for winter and summer activities in Mount Sunapee area.

  • We loved our stay at Heidi’s farm. The room / suite is super cozy and has all the amenities you need. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch overlooking the property after our ski day. Heidi was thoughtful and easy to communicate with. Well located to mount sunapee. Thank you Heidi, we hope to be back!

    Crystal2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • There's nothing to hide with this place. The pictures of the surrounding area and space look beautiful because the space IS beautiful. I came up to ski and this room was a blessing to come back to after an exhausting day. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the coffee/tea station was a very thoughtful touch. Accommodations aside, Heidi was incredibly responsive and even offered to take us down to the barn to see the goats after we expressed interest. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone interested in exploring the area.

    Jacob2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for a relaxing stay. You can simply go about your business or say hello to Heidi at any time as she is easily available, delightful to talk with and super friendly.

  • This was a perfect space for a weekend up at Sunapee. Heidi was always quick with communication and check-in was very easy. The room was very comfortable and clean, and it included all of the amenities I could possibly need. The area was quiet and a very quick drive to Mount Sunapee. Overall I highly recommend this room and this host!

Welcome to 13 Hills! Set in the picturesque Monadnock region, our earth-sheltered home offers magnificent views, serenity, and comfort, With an open concept living/kitchen/dining/media area with a stone fireplace, an 1100 square foot terrace with firepit and year-round hot tub, this is not your usual B&B. Your room has a king-size memory foam bed, bureau, 42 inch TV, DVD & internet services, a full bath with tiled shower, and panoramic vistas. Full breakfasts of your choosing are our specialty!
Our 1800 square-foot home is earth-bermed, making it naturally warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. We have solar electric with battery back-up, so we always have electricity even if the grid is down for an extended time (and a gas generator as a back-up to that!). The house features a great room with a dining area, stone fireplace, living room, kitchen and media area. Your bedroom features a king-sized memory foam mattress, chair, bureau, night stands, lamps, clock radio, luggage stands, a 42 inch TV with Netflix, Amazon and Hulu, and a Blu Ray DVD. Open the curtains and you'll be treated to our wonderful view of Beryl Mt. and the hills beyond. A crib (and baby monitor) is available in the room across the hall, which is why the listing shows 1 bedroom but 2 beds. The full bathroom has a newly-tiled shower and blue-tooth speaker. Robes and slippers are in your closet for use to/from the hot tub, where swim suits are optional. Smoking is permitted in the enclosed porch and outside. Complimentary coffee and tea service is in your room for your convenience. The 1100 square foot terrace features a fire pit for nighttime enjoyment, chairs, picnic table, and 2 grills, one of which is vegetarian-only. Our treadmill, also with a 42" TV and streaming services, is available for use in the year-round greenhouse, next to your room. Our rescue dog, Hannah, is a mixed breed who loves attention, so if you don't like dogs, we're not the right place for you. To see the most recent video of our house search "Byll & Cheryl's Earth-Sheltered Home Update 2016" on YouTube. This search will also pull up all of the other construction videos and previous updates. For an aerial look at the house, search for "13 Hills - A Unique Earth-Sheltered Destination". We also have a pool room in our upper garage, which is available to guests. We host Tuesday night pool sessions for our friends, and you are welcome to join us. A dart board and darts are also in the pool room. Our house is surrounded by hills, so we have great sledding, cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. Our main highway is a favorite of bicyclists, offering a 22 mile loop of primarily flat terrain paralleling the Cold River. Beryl Mountain offers good hiking and a variety of stones and crystals. Pitcher Mountain is just 20 minutes away and affords the closest panoramic views of the entire region. Mt. Monadnock, one of the most-climbed mountains in the world, is about an hour away. The major towns in the area - Keene, Claremont and Springfield, VT - are all about 25-30 minutes away. 13 Hills is registered with the State of New Hampshire as a Bed and Breakfast and our license number is 062015. We were recently awarded the highest customer satisfaction award by Booking.com. Visit our Facebook page - 13HillsBnB.
South Acworth is a quiet, off-the-beaten-track village that boasts a community-run country store that dates to 1865. Many local craftspeople and artisans have their wares available for purchase there, and the store stocks all the necessities and last-minute items. The Cold River runs through the town, and is bordered by hills on both sides, so we are often treated to fog views in the valley below us. Rt. 123A, which parallels the river for 11 miles, has been recently paved, making it a great bicycle route as it's fairly flat with just enough hills to make it interesting. Our community church features a recently renovated steeple and the town library, founded in 1891, houses an extensive stuffed bird collection. Beryl Mountain, of which we have a magnificent view, is the source of the beryls used in making the first atomic bomb and is a favorite with rock hounds. There is easy access in town to the vast NH snowmobile trail system, and we have great hills for sledding and cross-country skiing. There are 4 downhill skiing areas and 2 touring areas within an hour's drive, the closest being Mt. Sunapee, about 35 minutes away. Our own hills are perfect for easy sledding, snow-shoeing or cross country skiing. The nearest town of any size is Walpole, home of Ken Burns of PBS fame and a very good restaurant - The Restaurant at Burdick's. Keene, Claremont and Springfield are all about 25-30 minutes away and offer a wider array of shopping, dining and movies.
  • Hannah and Byll greeted us when we drove up and both of them were sweet all throughout our stay. The personalized parking spot was a nice touch. The bed is on the softer side. The view from the bedroom is spectacular and the personal bathroom is spacious and well-appointed. The room had everything we could think of needing closet, dresser, nightstands, alarm clocks, USB docking station, TV with Netflix and other options, local info, etc. We enjoyed our time in the hot tub and it was great to have use of house slippers, robes, and a flashlight! Byll's breakfasts were delicious and filling, and the use of home-grown ingredients was a treat! We highly recommend staying here!

  • You will definitely enjoy your stay with Byll and Cheryl and Hannah! Byll and Cheryl are very good at communicating every step of the way! They and their home are very welcoming and accommodating! Byll and Cheryl clearly let us know all the details we needed to know about our stay and were available to answer the few questions we had. The view from their home is beautiful as are the grounds! Byll’s breakfasts are scrumptious and his coffees taste delicious!! Hannah is a sweetheart! You will love her too! Hurry and make your reservation and enjoy your stay!!

    Darlene2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Byll and Cheryl welcomed us into their unique home with a great view. The breakfasts were great, Hannah the dog was adorable, and taking a dip in a hot tub under the stars when it is 5 degrees outside was also really nice. Would recommend for folks looking for a weekend away!

    Peter2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised and more! Hannah was the star attraction. Amazing view.

    Kathi2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay for a relaxing weekend away. The house and property are beautiful, and they put so much thought into everything. The breakfasts were delicious. We loved that the food was grown by the hosts or came from local friends. They were kind and friendly. There was even a binder with important information about the place, local attractions and maps, and details on how to use the tv, WiFi, and hot tub. They were very accommodating for anything we needed and made us feel welcome. Hannah was an adorable addition to the stay, too.

    Amber2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to see a constant view and get the peace the city doesn’t offer. Great people, great views, it was a home away from home. You will enjoy your time in the hot tub, watching tv, exploring the views around. It is a great place to escape reality for a bit :)

    Rachel2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s everything that they say it is, and more. Beautiful, comfortable, inviting and warm. Can’t wait to stay there again.

  • I stayed with my husband and two small children. The location is very convenient, the home was clean and we had everything we needed during the stay.

  • We had a great stay at Rene's Airbnb! It was very clean and comfortable, and so cozy for our weekend away. It's convenient to Mt. Sunapee and walking distance to a number of restaurants in Sunapee. We were there in the winter and it was nice and warm, especially with the extra heating stove on in the kitchen. Rene was super responsive to any questions we had, and provided recommendations for the area. We hope to be back!

  • Great location

    Caroline2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this little apartment for our family of 4. Plenty of room to spread out. Quick drive to Mt Sunapee for our ski weekend. Great location- if you don’t feel like cooking the gas station/convenience store with essentials &dunkin at the corner few houses down, the wildwood Smokehouse (and covered bridge up the hill), and the harbor not too far off though some spots are closed for the winter. Kitchen is well equipped and cozy with the stove. Beds are comfy, bathroom spotless. I almost don’t want to write this review and have this place booked up for our next trip!

    Tanya2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

This is a big beautiful house with a giant backyard and epic views of Mt. Ascutney. Come and enjoy our home, share the peace and beauty of Vermont. This location is central to skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and horse events.
Our house has two large bedrooms available as single private rooms that are priced separately (Two king sized beds). The second bedroom may be reserved through Fire Ridge Farm II. Great for people traveling together. FYI we are a solar powerhouse! 45 solar panels on our barn contribute to the electricity needs of our neighbors.
You will be amazed and delighted at the sheer majesty of the surroundings. Our view of Mt. Ascutney is magnificent. The house is private and quiet, with all of the convenience of high speed internet. Soak in the hot tub and watch the Milky Way, satellites and shooting stars in our clear night sky. Listen to the owls at night and the songbirds during the day. Pretty much the perfect Vermont experience.
  • Susan's home is lovely- it is beautiful in a gorgeous location. My husband and I loved the bonus of the hot tub and sauna! It was a nice walk to the village store and cafe, and an easy drive to my husband's conference.

  • Susan and Ralph are delightful hosts. We had a great sleep on a very comfortable bed. The tea and coffee was excellent. The views and conversations were lots of fun. Thank you for all the local tips of how to see the best autumn colors. This is an awesome place to stay.

    Heather2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts! Awesome view in the morning that can’t be beat! Great communication. Great area. Great value. Great bed! Just keep in mind, you are sharing space in a home that is lived in and there could be other guests. If you are fine with that, this is a fantastic choice!

    Charles2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph are the epitome of perfection in Airbnb hosts. As much privacy as we needed but super hospitality as well! Susan's selection of coffees is to die for, and my husband fell in love with Ralph's workshop in the barn. We knew about the area because family lives nearby, but we also found that we were acquainted with one another's families via our nephew and Susan's daughters. Perfect weather for a fall VT wedding...couldn't have asked for a nicer experience/folks to stay with. Definitely the spot to stay across from Mt. Ascutney...anytime of year!

    Nancy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph have a wonderful and comfortable place with a spectacular view. Their spacious home with plenty of private space allows guests to relax at their own pace. Fire Ridge Farm is as authentic Vermont as it gets.

If an historic, 19th c. Cornish Art Colony cottage nestled in the woods is to your liking, the first floor Maxfield Parrish Suite in our 1766 cottage is for you! The Maxfield Parrish retains the rustic charm amid pastoral beauty that has drawn travelers, artists, intellectuals and writers to our region for over 200 years. Exposed beams, 1766 & 1888 detailing, French windows, and updated utilities combine in this cozy Victorian cottage, with skiing, historic sites & arts offerings all nearby.
This spacious suite of four rooms and a large porch combines authentic, cottage architecture from 1766 and 1888 with updated utilities. This is the large first floor of the 1766 building; there is a 2-room Artist's Loft BnB above it. There is easy access to the BnB from Rte 12 A, which is just beyond the pines on the outer edge of the front lawn of the property. The living room is adjacent to the open kitchen with dining area. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, chaise lounge, large closet and bay window seat. The study/second bedroom with queen-size futon bed, comfy reading chair and writing desk opens through 1888 French doors to the large porch looking out onto Mt Ascutney. The bathroom has a shower over a claw-foot tub among its amenities. This BnB is fully stocked with everything you need to have a relaxing visit, and more: books, games, television-as-monitor, DVD player, and high-speed internet. This is an authentic 1766 building, which you will quickly notice with, e.g., window jambs, gunstock corners, original beams, 1766 corner cupboard in the Master bedroom. The space has the quirks of its actual age in window jambs and other details. If you'd like a modern copy of an actual 1766 building, this is not the place for you!
  • Jo's place is amazing. It's everything that was described on the website and more. Jo is the most gracious hostess we have ever had and a great tour guide. The place was very spacious and quaint. We felt like we had gone back in time. The location is excellent for touring New Hampshire and Vermont. We would definitely book it again if we were in the area.

  • The space at the Maxfield Parrish suite in Cornish NH is a treasure . It retains the charm of says gone by . Saint Gaudens gardens are right down the road . Lots to see & do in every direction , Beautiful Mt.Ascutny that you can see from the porch. The Artisan Park , lake Sunapee , Woodstock Vt , delightful township of Plainfield , organic farms for your produce . I could go on & on . We will be returning to Jos’s home .....

    Sylvia & John2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jo and her place were great! The space was exactly what I had hoped for; plenty of room, lots of privacy, a well stocked kitchen, relaxing study and lovely porch for sunset viewing. The place was rustic in the exact right way, with all the modern conveniences. Jo was a fantastic host, she started me with all the breakfast necessities (OJ, bread, eggs, milk, syrup, jam and more) and even asked if I needed her to pick anything up at the store. She was very respectful of my space, which I appreciated, but was extremely responsive when I needed anything at all (shampoo, a blown fuse etc). I can't wait to get back and enjoy all this airbnb and the surrounding area have to offer!

    Jesse2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jo is a great host and our employee enjoyed their stay. Great communication and was very friendly! Will definitely stay with her again in the future!

    Brenda2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very cosy and cute place. Owner was super nice, and we would definitely recommend this place.

    Keiko2018-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the Maxfield Parrish suite in early September. Jo was wonderful about our not-quite-certain arrival times, and was super responsive to our questions. We were grateful for the possibility of bringing our dog although in the end she stayed home with a friend. We love quirky or antique places with lots of character and this fit the bill. Along with the charm of its centuries' old structure and its inherent wabi-sabi, the space is very comfortable, cozy but roomy, and clean. Bathroom and kitchen stuff all worked well--we used the oven to make a pie with local apples. The unit is in an older farm building on the same grounds as the host's house, and there's another unit in the building. That didn't impact our stay at all, just thought I'd mention it for other travelers. There's a fantastic porch off the side room, where we enjoyed lunch and the view of Mt. Ascutney. It's an easy shot to Hanover/Lebanon/White River Junction, and Cornish itself and the surrounding area is lovely. We had a fun hike up behind the old mill house that connects to the National Historic Monument at St. Gaudens house. Would certainly go back!

    Sandy2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jo's place is a little bit hard to find at first but once you get there, it's an adorable old house. Jo is SO friendly and lets you set the pace at how much or little you would like to communicate with her during your stay. The Roku on the TV was such a good touch. The front door is a little jammed and the back doors that lead out from the porch to the bedroom could use a better lock (you can still push/pull the doors open even when the bar is locked) but if you're not a paranoid city person like me, it's really not a problem at all. Jo was so great and left a jar of local apple butter and a handwritten note for my friends and I halfway through our stay. She really is an exceptional host and the house is very spacious and comfortable. We cooked dinner there one night and the kitchen is very comfortable to cook in. There aren't many options of nearby places to go to but the places we went were close by and amazing! A short trip away from the Harpoon Brewery and some great food spots :)

    Mary2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a nice stay at a unique historic property. It’s every inch a 1700’s vintage home, lots of character but with modern conveniences.

Suzy And Todd’s home is located in Windsor, Vermont, United States. The farm is located on a quiet dirt road. The dirt roads are great for strolling or bike riding. The scenery is full of rolling hills and beautiful farmland. We are close to many popular Vermont attractions. We are only 11 miles from both Woodstock and Quechee. There is always something fun to do in both Woodstock and Quechee including walking around Woodstock Village, visiting the Billings Farm and Museum, VINS, glassblowing at Simon Pearce, and Quechee Gorge. We are also a short drive from Ascutney Mountain, Hanover, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College, King Arthur Flour in Norwich, and Harpoon Brewery in Windsor. In the winter, there are plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the area. Our farm is right down the road from the VAST Trail System for snowmobiling and we are a 45 minute drive from both Killington and Okemo Mountains for downhill skiing.
  • If you're looking for a quiet get away with a beautiful view, this is the perfect place. Todd was a very easy going guy and we look forward to returning to the farm. The cabin was clean and updated and we were welcomed with eggs and scones. We also enjoyed a walk around the property in the snow covered woods. Next time we'll try out the fire pit. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

  • Fat Sheep Farm is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a country experience in Vermont. It is quiet and somewhat secluded, but not a far drive from any of the surrounding towns. The cabin we stayed in was very clean and cozy. The view from our front porch was beautiful and their 60 acre property was the perfect place to get our dog out for a walk. We hope to come back and enjoy Fat Sheep Farm in the warmer months!

The Stone Schoolhouse is in an amazing location - 100 yards from the historic Bartonsville Covered bridge -Five minutes from I 91 exit 6 -Five minutes from Chester VT -Two miles from The Vermont Country Store -Located in the heart of Southern Vermont skiing, hiking and biking The light airy 1840 house itself is charming, filled with art, books and enticing artifacts. The property includes a lovely woodland screened chalet. You will have the entire house to yourself.
The house has a complete kitchen and an extensive library. There is an amazing vinyl 33 collection and operating stereo. There is also a lovely screened chalet for peace and quiet and enjoying moonlight and sunrises and beautiful evenings. I live next door on a small organic farm with chickens, bees, apple orchard and vast garden. I am very knowledgable about the area and want to make your stay the best. Marvie
Lower Bartonsville is very rural and in the country. A beaver colony lives across the road from the school house. There is a little swimming hole under the bridge and two nearby farm stands and plenty of nearby hiking and biking. I can help you with all the trails and bike routes. And five minutes away in Chester you have a large variety of restaurants, grocery store, gas station and many intriguing shops and events.
  • Great option for a couple. The house was very cozy and full of interesting items

    Andrew2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Marvie's place is unique and inspiring. Someone special collected these items, and we felt lucky to be able to enjoy them. Marvie provided a lot of special touches that made us feel welcome. There is plenty of heat and hot water, the schoolhouse is super clean, and the king-sized bed is very comfortable. Staying here was effortless and fun. It is highly recommended.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a really great find. The house had lots of entertainment options between records, books, and board games. Location isn’t too far from the highway so it is easy to get to different places

    Steven2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Marvie's little schoolhouse is a cozy place to stay in the middle of a winter wonderland. Our party of two adults and an 11-year old thoroughly enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it to other couples and small families. The schoolhouse is a treasure trove of books, knickknacks, and fascinating collectibles. Marvie is an amazing host with lots of great tips and information about the area, not to mention she's just simply fun to talk to. We definitely found a great value for our money and a wonderful gem of a host that we'll never forget.

    Mark2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Marvie's house is very distinct place, it is old in a very good sense of that word, it has history. It is very clean and has good amenities and is of decent size for family. Marvie herself is doing her best to make your stay comfortable and trouble free.

    Alexander2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. Right off the main road, very secluded, but Marvie was right there when we had questions. The school house was so cool with all the antiques and books and records! We had a blast.

    Carrie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very authentic and captivating.

    Quintard2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely wonderful! We loved the charm of the old schoolhouse and had such a relaxing time. Some highlights from our stay were the large record collection, the great set of cookware to make dinners, the many interesting and antique items decorating the space, and the nearby covered bridge. The space was exquisitely clean, the shower was hot, the WiFi was fast, and Marvie was so kind and helpful. Cannot recommend more highly!

  • The cabin on the hill is a wonderful location for a get away. Charming, cozy and quiet. Julie was a great host! The place has thoughtful touches and great cabin style. We hope to return!

  • A great spot. Very clear directions. 5-10 min hike up to the cabin but you have it all to yourself. Wonderful space and great furnace. Romantic and fun!

    Jack2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a wonderful wonderful spot. Julie’s cabin is nestled on top of a hillside in bucolic Vermont just a short drive from Woodstock. The cabin had everything you need for a weekend of a glamping: outdoor stove, a little dishwashing station, an outhouse, a tiny cabin with a cozy woodstove, a fire pit, and plenty of views and hiking trails. We loved every minute and hope to be back soon!!

    Caroline2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we wanted! The hike up the hill was a little bit of a hike. Sneakers are the best bet. Very private and peaceful. Thank you again!! !

    Michael2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just lovely. Super private and the wood stove kept the place pretty toasty despite the fall chill setting in! Would love to come back again.

    Juliana2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great for an off grid experience. The stove keeps the place perfectly warm on a cold evening and cooking and showering outdoors was such a novelty. Would recommend for a short stay !

    Jake2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in the woods! Fully equipped cabin, nothing need to bring appart food. He even had coffee and logs at our disposal! Good workout to get there, but very well indicated, little advice do not arrive in the dark!

    Amélie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's cabin is fantastic! The location is very cool -- it feels like you're completed secluded and off-grid in the hills of Vermont. The cabin itself is perfectly rustic. Great for relaxing and taking in the great outdoors.

Park in front of the door and look around; it’s hard to believe that this secluded spot could exist adjacent to such a busy though fair. Take a short walk in one direction to the local shopping plaza, and in the other to the center of downtown, and in only few steps, you’re in your room!
Slip out of your shoes, and step across the thick, soft carpet to the two big country windows where you just may spot a doe with her twin fawns grazing on the lawn. Hang your clothes in the closet, turn on the (Roku) TV (we have Netflix and Amazon prime), or grab a book, and relax in the recliner. In the shared hallway, we placed a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and a Keurig coffee maker. Bring your own favorite pods of coffee, tea or hot Chocolate or, help yourself to a complementary coffee or other beverages your first morning. After that please contribute to our coffee fund! REMINDERS: 1. Because the Stone’s Throw room seems so private, guests may not realize that the hallway/bathroom is shared. Therefore, clothing is required in the hallway:-) 2. In the summer, when a hot day as expected, we try to keep the house cool by closing the curtains and keeping the doors shut. 3. As you come and go, please remember to always close and lock the door.
Location, location, location! There’s no better way to describe Stone’s Throw! For skiing and riding, hiking and biking, drive twenty minutes to Okemo! As a matter of fact, eight resorts are within an hour or less drive from the house! For fall foliage, drive those same roads for spectacular views and vistas.
  • Stone's Throw is a quiet and clean place; and the host is incredibly responsive.

    Nick2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stone's throw was a fantastic stay! The communication was great, the house mate, Donna, was exceptionally respectful and kind, the room was spacious and private, and there were even plates and silverware provided for me to use during my stay. If anybody is looking for a quiet place to stay in the area, I would highly recommend Stone's Throw.

Getaway for families, couples or groups. Renovated Apt. in our Barn. Full kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, big fridge and ice maker, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, Dining/Living room with TV ( Antenna, no cable, Roku: bring your passwords for Netflix..) Fields, forest, hill and river on our property. We allow one friendly dog at a time for a 20 $ extra cleaning fee but the dog is not allowed to stay in the apt. by itself ( while its owner is skiing f.e.) dog daycare available in Springfield.
200 year old Vegetable Farm on the River. Apt. in barn is renovated. Barn outside renovation still in progress ( no work while you stay). Another Apt. upstairs is done but momentarily only used for friend and family visits. Other Apt in the back of the barn is rented to a permanent tenant, who smokes . As mentioned before, this is a rural setting! That means there are no taxis, , no Uber or Lyft, no pizza delivery, no public transport from the house. It is 6 miles to the nearest restaurant . It also means a 6 or 7 mile drive to a store, gas station, bank, and post office This is no big deal for people who live here and because Route 5 is always one of the first plowed roads, we do not have a problem going anywhere even in winter We just wanted to make you aware of this because if you have always lived in the city and have never been to Vermont, you will find this an adventure!
We are in a very rural area. Shops and restaurants are about 7 miles away from us. We are directly on Route 5, which runs parallel to Interstate 91 , which we do not hear or see, but has most of the traffic, so Route 5 is usually only used by the people who live there (only if the Interstate is closed we have a little more traffic one or 2 times a year). The benefit of being directly on Route 5 is, that it is plowed early and regularly and you do not have the problems of getting stuck in snow or mud that a dirt road often has.
  • A lovely space off the beaten bath with a responsive and welcoming host!

    Katie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Ina & Richard place for a quick weekend ski trip in Killington. Although it is about 50 mins drive, it is an enjoyable scenic drive. We need a place with kitchen and enough bedroom. The apartment fits our needs. There are nice restaurant and supermarket close by too.

    Larry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We visited Ina & Richard's space at night on Friday with a group of 6 people. It was a -10F evening but they turned the heater on in advance and welcomed us with a guided tour of their clean and tidy apartment. They prepared some breakfast and coffee for us and the appliances in the place are well equipped. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it. So worth it.

    Andi2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful little place with super friendly hosts and thoughtful touches

    Jacob2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • This was Just a perfect place to stay for our family of 5! All 5 of us were adults too. Closest place to Claremont, NH we could find ... in case that’s important to you! Also took daily trips to West Lebanon, NH. So flexible and helpful with reservations and check in and out! Spotlessly clean and nicely decorated ... felt so much like home. Gave us some gifts of food that were so helpful!! Easy to get to from several directions. Great price too!! I can’t recommend it enough! We will stay again and will encourage others to stay too! Thank you Ina and Richie!!!

  • Clean spaces, Rustic locale, Timeless barn furnishings, Thoughtful touches. Ina was a great host and we had a great experience. Location was perfect for a ski trip to Okemo. Five stars. Would definitely book again.

  • Ina and Richard were wonderful hosts. The space was very clean and they were kind enough to put some basics in the fridge for our arrival. The reason for our visit was a ski trip to Okemo and it was a great location for that- only about a 1/2 hour drive to the Mountain.

The second bedroom may be reserved through Fire Ridge Farm.
  • This was our second time at Susan and Ralph’s house for a ski trip with 3 other friends. Very kind people and amazing hospitality. Thank you again guys.

  • Very kinda and hospitable!

    Yuliya2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph were great hosts and very friendly! Their house is beautiful. The hot tub and sauna was a nice treat. They provided great local suggestions. Definitely recommend and would stay again!

    Jessica2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph's apartment was awesome, home-y and relaxing. I had access to the entire downstairs with a private bathroom. Very reasonably priced. Located on a mountain, the home is large, unique and private, yet with all of the modern comforts and easily accessed by main roads. Civilization is not far away at all. My visit in winter was no problem--the electronic flaming fireplace made my room cozy, as did the mattress warmer. They left sweet little touches, like yummy chocolates near my bed and a plush bathrobe to wear. The best aspects were the indoor sauna and the outdoor hot tub; each day upon returning from my professional seminar (the Holiday Inn Conference Center is 4 minutes away), I soaked myself in the clean hot tub (in January!!). Soaking in 100 degree water whilst under the constellations, staring at another mountain was breathtaking! S and R are lovely people who enjoy hosting and meeting people. You will feel at home and have access to all of the riches that VT has to offer by staying here.

    Sandy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Susan & Ralph are incredibly friendly hosts. We felt so welcomed the moment we arrived. The room was spacious & comfortable & the cherry on top was the jacuzzi outside which we used every day after skiing. Bottom line: the best value & friendliest Airbnb experience!

    Rachel2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect for my boyfriend and I on our quick weekend trip to Vermont. We chose this place because it was a cheaper alternative to staying in Woodstock, where we were visiting, but still close enough to drive there reasonably fast. We stayed in the lower floor of the house, which we happened the have to ourselves. The room was spacious and cozy, with a nice electric fireplace and large bed. We only met Susan’s husband, who was a great host to us and was welcoming when we arrived late at night. This home is secluded, and the view of the stars from the hot tub in the back is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. The only suggestion I would make to the hosts is to add a lock on the bedroom door to offer some extra privacy to your guests.

    Kaitlynn2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wished our stay could have been longer. Amazing property with fabulous views of the mountain. Clean, cozy room and lots of special touches added to make you comfortable. Hosts are wonderful. We're coming back for sure!

    Kim2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • There are two rooms available at this property, I stayed in the downstairs room. The bedroom is HUGE. Enjoy a large bed, dresser, TV, pedestal fan, electric fireplace, roll-top desk and a private bathroom just steps away from the room. If you stay here, you are staying with family. Expect a wonderful host in Susan who is more like a relative than a proprietor. I was traveling solo for several days to photograph the fall leaves. I did not expect to interact much with the hosts but found that this was the highlight of my stay. Morning coffee with conversation, moonlit nights in front of a bonfire with her visiting family, she even fed me home made apple crisp and applesauce! I was allowed to use her laundry room and the kitchen for whatever I needed. It was like home away from home.

The room was perfect for what we needed, with the added bonus of a comfy king sized bed! We did not use it but the kitchen space was great as well, with coffee, some breakfast snacks and fruit and a quaint seating area. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a private room with a queen bed and private bath. All stays come with a complimentary breakfast. Hardwood floors and warm country quilts, we are ready to be your home away from home! We do a full hot breakfast in the mornings (typically around 8am). Timing for this is constrained by our work schedules, but we also offer a self-serve continental breakfast for those looking to sleep in!
Unwind in the beauty surrounding us here at the farm. Originally an 1860 farmhouse, it has been updated to include modern amenities but maintains all of the original charm! Our common room beckons with its stone floor and fireplace. We have plenty of board games for those looking to unplug, and high speed wifi for those needing to get online. A second sitting room provides additional space to relax. Visit the pond and you're likely to see some otters or a grey heron. We are centrally located for a variety of neighboring towns, so quaint shops, fine dining and your next adventure are all only a short drive away. For accessibility access, there are stairs at all entrances if this is a concern. They are well equipped with railings.
