A small slice of paradise on the sunny side of Lough Derg:-) The boathouse is self contained with full kitchen, bathroom and mezzanine bed. Private veranda with seating for 2 and a small BBQ. (No pets allowed)
  • Barry’s place was everything we could have hoped for. Such a cute cabin right on Lough Derg. Barry was one of the nicest hosts we’ve ever encountered. STAY HERE!!

  • Looking for a quiet and relaxing retreat? Barry's place is what you've been looking for! The cottage is on Lough Derg and the only things you can hear are the water and the birds singing... Barry was such a great host, very fast reacting and replying to queries, his mum was lovely too. Would definitely recommend going there!

    Alexane2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • So beautiful and tranquil.... The perfect getaway and Barry was so helpful and accommodating😊

  • This is one of the best AirBnB's that I've ever stayed in, and completely represents everything that is great about this platform - a unique space, in a beautiful location, hosted by a genuinely friendly and welcoming person. The place is exactly as described - it is right on the water and the doors and windows frame the lake beautifully and make it feel like the lake is all yours. Barry is a great host - on hand for anything we needed! Can't recommend this place enough.

    Tim2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a lovely spot right beside Lough Derg. Very peaceful and calm. The place is cosy and clean. The only issue I found is that the cabin isn’t very private. There are blinds on most windows but they don’t give much privacy and it’s easy for someone to come around without much warning. Apart from that everything is absolutely great - I would defiantly recommend. A very relaxing little spot.

    Dora2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot to while away a few days and get away from it all. It's a bird watchers paradise, even has a resident kingfisher. If you get up early enough you will see him close up along with the sunrise over the lake. Magical. Barry is the perfect host and lives behind so all your needs are well looked after. If you have a canoe or stand up it's an ideal spot to get on this beautiful stretch of water. The stove in the evening is really cosy and the boathouse has everything you need. Be aware that the climb up and down to the mezzanine bed is short but properly vertical. Fine for the average person. I loved the time I spent there and have it on my list to go back.

    Orla2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Little house in dream about the lake. Waking up in the morning overlooking the lake and the coast on the other side and falling asleep to the sound of the water next to the wood burning fireplace. A true haven of peace and tranquility. In addition Barry worried that we were at all times at ease, he left us with fresh firewood and recommendations on places to visit. Thanks Barry for your kindness !!

  • Really lovely stay, we ended up staying during a storm warning, but had a great time curled by the range. Perfect spot for a quiet weekend. Hosts were very thoughtful. Space was beautiful.

  • Beautiful converted stables, with the most charming and helpful host. We would love to come here again.

    Sharda2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This has been my favourite Air B&B place so far for a solo trip. Paul and Joan were lovely, and I had plenty of space and solitude for myself. Very comfortable space indeed. You definitely need a car here though!

    Abby2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Even with the amazing pictures, they still don’t do this place justice until you see it in person. After staying in a run down apartment in Dublin, the Stables were a HUGE improvement for us and we were stunned at the amount of work Paul and Joan put into this place. It is secluded, but not far away from town at all. We took a lovely baking class in Galway (only about 40 min from here) and spent some time in the nearby town of Ennis. The hosts were incredibly responsive, and we had the immense pleasure of meeting Paul as he came to light the fire for us on multiple occasions. Their surrounding property is stunning, which includes some surprise visitors, like their two gorgeous horses, and Pushkin, the sweetest cat in all of Ireland. We miss the Stables so much already and would highly recommend it to anyone hoping to visit County Clare and the surrounding area! You won’t regret it!

    Barbara2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful! Gorgeous restoration, incredible cozy, well stocked with coffee, eggs etc. Great recommendations for things to see and great location for exploring. We didn’t want to leave! We were inspired by the design and layout, and the energy of the place was warm and welcoming. Paul was very helpful in our planning and had good tips on places to eat and visit! Lovely peaceful countryside and two very friendly horses out back. We arrived home to a fire each evening and lights turned on. It made us feel very taken care of so far from home! We would certainly return here on our next trip to Ireland!

    Sarah2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly magical and cannot recommend both the place and Paul & Joan as hosts. We arrived late in the evening after driving from Dublin and Joan had been very responsive/helpful during our drive over. Joan had already started a fire before we arrived along with complimentary fresh eggs, milk and jam for us to make breakfast in the morning! The Kiltanon House is in an absolutely beautiful part of the country. We stayed in the horse carriage room and it was so rustic chic and cool we couldn’t stop gushing about how awesome the place was. The location was also quiet, secluded and exactly what my wife and I were looking for on our honeymoon! We also became best friends with their cat, Pushkins, who came around for cuddles and my wife fell in love with her. The next day we drove out to Cliffs of Moher for the day and Paul recommended a phenomenal seafood restaurant called Monks for dinner. His recommendation was awesome and had the best seafood chowder ever. When we returned we had a quick panic because we had locked ourselves out but Paul was very quick fo respond and help us even though it was after dark. Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience and cannot recommend enough! Thank you again Joan and Paul. You’re place is something we’ll talk about for years to come as part of our honeymoon.

    Tyler2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Stable is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to explore the West of Ireland. The cottage is full of charm and warmth. The space is a very cosy environment to avoid some Irish weather, and if you're lucky the local cat will swing by to say hi. There's also a very charming woodburning stove in the house that you can lose hours lounging in front of. I'd recommend the Stable to anyone looking for a basecamp to retreat to while exploring the Burren or Cliffs of Moher. Alternatively if you're in the market for a quiet weekend away from it all, this is the ideal spot.

Bright, modern one bedroom cabin in the heart of the countryside. We are a 10 minute drive from Lahinch beach and 15 minute drive from Doolin. Our cabin has breathtaking views of the countryside with Liscannor bay in the distance and is a great base for visiting the Aran Islands, Cliffs Of Moher and the Burren. We are located 7km from the town of Ennistymon in the peaceful town land of Carrowduff.
The cabin is situated on our 2.5 acre property and is a small (5m x 5.8m) but bright and cheery space. The cabin is heavily insulated in the walls, floor and ceiling so it is cosy and warm all year round and there are electric radiators for the cooler months. There is an en-suite shower room with a waterless eco composting toilet, electric shower and wash hand basin. The kitchen/living dining area has a kitchenete suitable for preparing basic meals with a portable electric 2 ring hob, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle and toaster. There are glass patio doors that open out onto a small covered deck and there is a gravel patio area beyond the deck with beautiful views.
We are situated within a 10-15min drive of the Cliffs Of Moher and all of the following villages, Doolin, Lahinch, Lisdoonvarna, Ennistymon and Liscannor. Kilshanny House is our nearest pub just over 3km away. There are regular live traditional music nights in the pubs in Doolin through out the year. Liscannor also offers pubs and restaurants as does Lahinch which is also famous for its beautiful surfing beach. The town has many surf schools offering lessons suitable for all ages. The town of Ennistymon is 7km away and is a busy little rural town with supermarkets, banks, post office, grocery shops, pubs and restaurants.
  • Really nice tiny house, private and scenic. Buddy the dog is great!

  • Beautiful location with secluded and romantic charm! It’s a perfect distance to town and a good home base point for exploring the west coast! We greatly enjoyed our stay!

    Simonne2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the cabin. Will definitely try and book it again. Their dog “buddy” was such a welcomed surprise... me and my son played with him for a while it was a lot of fun. The cabin was spotless and cozy. Had two great sleeps both nights.

    Jonathan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really impressed with the cabin, we went for 2 nights during a bad storm and the cabin still felt extremely sturdy. It was a lovely comfortable place that had everything we needed. Would love to come stay here again! Thanks Lizzie

  • Lovely cottage! Secluded, quiet and clean with all you need for a getaway, while still being only a 10-15 minute drive from some nice pubs and restaurants. Communication with Lizzie was great and we felt well taken care of during our stay. A big plus for Buddy the dog who kept us company on the lovely Irish countryside.

  • I am so touched by the hospitality and warmth of my stay with Josef and Helga. My time staying on their land and getting to know them was perhaps the highlight of my three weeks in Ireland. I stayed a total of a week with them (with a small intermission to pop up to Connemara). I stayed in both the cabin and the main house. The cabin is exactly what I had hoped for when I found it on Airbnb -- cozy, private, warmed by a wood stove. The cabin's kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals, which also makes the cabin a place that one can completely retreat into if that's desired. I enjoyed my stay in the house just as much. I appreciated having the sitting room to journal and read my book. I loved being near to Josef and Helga's comings and goings, tending to the stoves, feeding the cows, preparing meals, enjoying a cup of tea in the other room. Their company, both in conversation with them, and in the distant awareness of them moving through the house, was so very sweet. Josef and Helga are very, very special human beings. I'll let you find out for yourself what I mean. Perhaps my biggest endorsement of Josef's B&B is that after a week I left reluctantly. There is no doubt in my mind that I will return, and I so look forward to that time. And though it hardly bears mentioning considering its overwhelming reputation, Josef's breakfast is a true treat.

    Claire2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great and perfect stay at Josefs B&B! Josef and Helga are perfect hosts! They are so pleasent and friendly. The cabin is so cozy, homey, unhurried and peaceful! Josef always made me feel comfortable in his cabin: each time I came back from my trips he had started the fire so that the cabin was warm when I came in. They also put beautiful flowers from their garden on "my" table. The breakfast, he prepared, was perfect! You have the choice between irish breakfast or continental breakfast. Both gave me great tips for my trips as well. The cabin is well located so that you can reach a lot of sights - by car! F.e. it takes just a 30 minutes ride to the sea. We also had great evening or morning conversations and they imvited me for tea and cake. Thank you so much for the wonderful time!! Wish you all the best and hope to see you again!

    Tina2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is well equipped. A place to relax and to relax inside. Such nice and open-hearted hosts are rare! The breakfast was delicious with food partly from our own production.

    David2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Josefs wood cabin is a beautiful peaceful escape in idyllic surroundings. He also makes a perfect boiled egg 🤗

    Joy2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a quiet place in the countryside where I could chill out and do some work. Josef’s place was perfect and Josef himself was a total boss. I’ll definitely be back.

    Phil2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Josefs place was exactly what we were looking for and more. Off the beaten track, the beautiful log cabin is nestled amongst the trees and heated by a lovely stove fire which really adds to the experience. The compost toilet is probably nicer than many of the toilets I've experienced in hotels. Our host was fantastic; welcoming, informative and a pleasure to get to know. Brekkie was yummy and Josef took time to cater to our individual needs. My colleague and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a stay at the cabin; in fact I would urge you to experience this beautiful home and wonderful host. :)

    Amanda2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had to cancel our stay very last-minute unfortunately, Josef was very good about it. We hope that we are able to visit soon!

  • I had the most amazing time in Flagmount wild garden! Brendan and Rachel were the perfect hosts 🤗.Flagmount garden is a spiritual place and I really felt amazing after my time spent there to reflect; spend time in nature and to enjoy serenity and a quiet mind. It is a little patch of heaven and I highly recommend to anyone looking to find themselves again and recharge your batteries 🙏. Thank you so much Brendan and Rachel!!

  • Once again, myself and Martin, we wanted to thank you Brendan! We couldn't imagine a better place to relax and take a deep breathe. The cabin was amazing, with those tiny things (as the books or CD's) which made the place. The view from the cabin was a nice refreshment for us on the morning. We had everything that we wanted and even more.

  • This Is the sort of place I yearn for. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful, safe, warm & private,...it was like a soothing balm & I felt grounded & rested afterwards & I wanted to return before I had even left. Brendan & his family were lovely & welcoming & it's an amazing place. The cabin was a lovely big space, so toasty & comfortable & connected to nature no matter which way you look. Unforgettable experience.

  • What a wonderful house in the "middle of nowhere". Really equipped with all conveniences and very stylishly furnished. Despite the somewhat remote location you are in fifteen minutes by car in BallyVaughan or the larger Kinvarea. A pub is even closer. We had a wonderful time here with the cozy fireplace, lovely balcony and free garden.

    Christian2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • All perfectly fine. We very much enjoyed our stay and we can totally recommend that cottage. Thanks for the pleasant stay and we always felt very welcome.

  • A beautiful, quiet and cosy place to stay. Complete with all we needed to stay for nearly a week. Comfortable and fab access to a great deal across the Burren. Margaret and Richard go above and beyond what is expected and have great advice for what to do and see locally! Would definitely stay again!

    Timothy2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is so well equipped. We had everything we needed and tons of information for seeing the sites. It is a very quiet spot, which is just what we were looking for after a conference in Dublin. The lovely balcony and places to sit in the garden are lovely. We particularly enjoyed the recommendation for Monk's Restaurant and Bar. We would love to stay there again.

    Claire2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean and convenient place in the most gorgeous setting you can imagine. Waking up and looking out upon the ocean ahead and the weathered beauty of the Burren surrounding. John was so thoughtful to leave a fire going as I came in and then to make suggestions of sites to visit as I was leaving (all of which were excellent) on my way to the Cliffs of Moher.

Our two Dogs had us up and out early as there where so many scents to explore in the grounds, a quick visit to Limerick Milk Market had us stocked up on local produce and simple meals as once we arrived we knew we would not want to venture too far as the Lodge is delightfully peacefull and cosy- bring a book and some supplies (epsom salts and aromatherapy oils for the baths) and have a refreshing and relaxing retreat. Perfection....

  • This home was absolutely outstanding. We stayed in literal castles while in Ireland, but this home was by far our favorite. The furnishing are very nice and the grounds and property were outstanding.

  • We thought the house was unbelievable. It has been restored to such a beautiful finish. The grounds were amazing. Everything that you need is in the house. Sitting by the fireplace with candles was truly magical. Having a bath in the roll top bath was a pleasure. It really is little gem, Thanks

  • Very tidy and lovely House, equipped with everything you need. The communication was super easy and quick. The place looks even better than it does in the pictures. Would absolutely recommend to stay there! We had an amazing and relax stay!

  • This was a great place to stay. In my opinion tipical Irish cottage, which was great experience. The only disadvantage was that there wasn't mobile network coverage, but instead there was WiFi connection in the house. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy the tranquility of the Irish countryside.

  • Beautifully renovated farmhouse with original details, we really enjoyed it! We would have loved to have more time to explore the area, would definitely recommend this place.

  • We enjoyed our stay in the house very much. The house is situated in a very quiet area. Although it was cold outside, we had it nice and warm inside - not least because of the fireplace. The equipment is very good. We can definitely recommend the house.

  • Patrick and Jessica were amazing hosts! Their cottage is absolutely adorable and way back in the countryside for the perfect getaway. My friends and I only wished we had more than one night there! I would definitely go back and recommend this place to friends!

  • A lovely homely cottage . With beautiful furnishings and amazing comfortable beds .

    Michelle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This home was one of a kind. Well I'm sure many homes built at the time this one was were similar, but it was NOTHING like I've ever experienced before. It was such a treat to be thrown back in time... but spoiled with running water and electricity. We really loved walking just up the path a bit to experience the mountain and a sweet stream running through the property. I'm no expect, but you bet I burned out my camera battery at this place. Make sure you meet Patrick, he's a sweetheart with the best Irish accent to meet all your expectations.

  • Beautiful views, very attentive host, spotless house, value for money, would suit a group - plenty of space and lots of bedrooms. We collected our keys without issue from the family pub - was shown to the house *quiet a steep driveway for weary drivers* but who doesn't like a challenge? Large homely house - perfect sized kitchen and sitting room with Wifi. Can't wait to go back (minus the storms) Thanks Cillian

Stay in our eco friendly cabin, in luxury! Our brand new micro-cabins are almost 100% off-grid, with a wood burning stove, solar powered lighting, composting toilet, etc. The leafy outside area has a deck/porch, and a barbecue/patio area solely for guests use. There's lots to do locally, with beaches nearby, and a short walk will bring you to the heart of this colourful village, with lively pubs & restaurants, Irish music. Kinvara is an ideal base to explore The Burren, Co.Clare. Pets welcome!
Please read our check-in guidelines below before making a booking. The cabin itself has a bedroom, living room/kitchenette, and little shower room/WC. It really is tiny, measuring only 6m x 3m in total! It's very bright, with lots of windows, and a skylight. (The bedroom has blackout blinds) Hot water is instant, the shower is good. There's a wood-burning stove, for the colder months. It's heavily insulated all round, which means it keeps the heat in, and also keeps the summer heat out, so it's a nice ambient temperature. There is a filter water tap at the sink for drinking water, to save on buying bottled water (Kinvara has a low single-use plastic campaign) The lighting is powered by a solar panel, and the toilet is a composting type, called a Separett Villa. Check it out online!
The cabin is about 10 minutes walk from the centre of the village. While in Kinvara you will find a weekly farmers market (on Fridays, (March - October), lively traditional Irish pubs with nightly music (in the summer months) and a handful of gourmet restaurants, as well as the grocery store, post office, etc. About 10 minutes away by car there is a Blue Flag beach called Traught. The Burren is a short drive away where there is wonderful hiking and exploring possibilities. Kinvara is a popular base from which to explore the cliffs of Moher, Doolin, the Burren, and other places of beauty.
  • Frank and Catherine were great hosts and we had a great time staying at their property. It was within walking distance to a number of nice restaurants and shops in Kinvara. We definitely recommend staying at this cabin as it was a very cute and cozy place to stay!

    Maddi2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is very cosy and just a short walk from Kinvarra. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

    Robbie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin. Lots of light and everything you need. The town was also ver cute. Great place to stay. Absolutely recommended!

    Alex2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay in this little cabin. The cabin itself was tucked away in a private nook so it was peaceful. You could simply sit on the deck and enjoy your morning coffee or stargaze at night if you wished. The interior was very clean and well put together. The small space is well thought out and included everything you could possibly need. Also, I think I'm going to need a set of those chairs - so comfy I hardly wanted to leave them! The kitchen area has all the essentials and you can easily whip up something great to eat on the stove top. The town is a short walk away where we picked up a few groceries to try out such as the local smoked fish or produce. Fantastic! The stove is very clean and easy to use. We had one similar so we're familiar with using it Frank is on hand to give you a demo if you need. The heat from the stove had the cabin feel like we were lost on a tropical island somewhere as the heat was just fantastic! It was perfect too as we hid indoors for a day when storm Jorge hit! The bedroom has blackout blinds/curtains so you have a peaceful sleep. Being able to open the blind and watch the morning sun from the warmth of our bed was a perfect start to the day. The bathroom is great, too! Running water, a hot shower, all your essential toiletries in case you forgot something. The composting toilet works great and was easy to use, we had no issues what so ever. Frank and Catherine had little guidebooks and leaflets etc and had thought of everything you could possibly need during your stay. We also had a small dog with us too and had no issues whatsoever. The location itself is incredible. There was so many places to walk to and see. We also had dinner in the Pier Head and would highly recommend the steak or the seafood platter - incredible! I honestly cannot praise it enough. If your on the fence about booking, take this as a sign to just do it! Our stay and our trip to Kinvara has easily become one of our favourites!

    Holly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and stylish little cabin with everything you could possibly need! Great location and useful tips on where to dine and go! Would absolutely recommend staying here 😊

    Fiona2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in Kinvara within a 10 minute walk of all the town has to offer. An added bonus is the fact that the cabin is off grid.

    Anne2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had some great days at the tiny house of Frank and Catherine. Everything you need is there. It is very clean and Frank and Catherine are very nice people. At the petrolstation next door you can buy nice breakfast stuff and there is also a take away. In the town there is a supermarket which is open every day. Great!! We have made a trip to Galway and Connemara, the other day to the cliffs of Moher and back through the Burren. We love the countryside.

    Felice2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine and Frank were amazing hosts who went above and beyond. The cabin was adorable and had everything I needed. Short walk into town as well with access to buses which was great 😊

Stroll along a small quiet lane to the Organic farm with happy animals and a dairy where you can buy Fresh raw cows milk, goats milk, cheese, yogurt and eggs. Seasonal organic vegetables can be bought from a stall just across the road, again this is run on trust. I live and work beside the cottage designing and making landscape inspired scarves and shawls. I respect your space and lone travelers have the comfort of knowing that they are not totally alone on this beautiful and peaceful hillside. Its about a 5 min drive into doolin which has pubs and a couple of small shops. You will need a car to get around but it's close to the cliffs of moher centre and to the ferry for the isles of Aran. Orla is a great host. She provided the best breakfast we have had, even better than at hotels! It had homemade granola with fresh yoghurt, bagels, homemade cakes, etc etc. Wondeful stay!

  • Delightful space up one flight of stairs. Fantastic views across the sea. Breakfast provided plus goodies. Small room but all you need with views like that. Road to Orla’s narrow in places but we did not meet any other cars coming towards us. Would recommend.

  • Orla's place is sparkling clean, with a fantastic ocean view. I had an amazing stay, and it was easily a highlight of my trip. There were special touches including homemade breakfast pastries and recommendations to local venues. It's also in a fantastic location to the Cliffs and other fantastic coastal sites. I would highly recommend the stay.

  • A wonderful stay. Everything was super clean and nice. Maybe a bit more room for storing stuff would be nice but it's not a deal breaking. Everyone who wants to see the cliff's of moher should stay there. 5/5

    Nicole2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as in the photos; the claw tub was divine with beautifully hot water. Definitely needed after a long day of exploration! Jerry the outside cat was friendly, and loved getting snuggles! The night sky... was absolutely lovely.. and there is a small window you can stargaze from within, should you choose the room with the tub!

  • This place is wonderful! Everything was clean, fresh, and the hosts had such wonderful local tips. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else if/when we come back. I wish our stay could have been longer!

  • We really enjoyed our stay!! When we arrived in the west there was a pretty bad storm and we really enjoyed the comfort our accommodation provided. It was warm, comfortable and we really felt at home. The hospitality was excellent and the hosts think of every detail. We can’t wait to visit again for a longer stay during games the summer😊

    Neal2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay! Beth and Ryne were the only two present during my stay, as Patrick was on vacation, but they were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The room was just what I needed for a weekend trip to the Cliffs of Moher, as it was comfortable, private, and has its own en suite. It was also clean, spacious, and had a comfortable bed as well. The shared kitchen space was great, and Beth even made banana muffins for those staying in the home. They also offer breakfast food for the guests. It is situated about a 45 minute walk/5 min drive from the Cliffs of Moher, but it's a pleasant view of the countryside if you've time for it (plus some adorable animals along the way)! Overall, lovely couple, lovely hosts, lovely house!

    Flagmount, County Clare, Ireland

Located on the edge of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark, a World Heritage Site and place of unequalled beauty. I am conveniently close to the Wild Atlantic Way and only a 20 minute drive to the nearest sandy beach in Lahinch, 25 minutes drive to the Cliffs of Moher and the stunning cliff walk - not to be missed! I will be happy to suggest local Burren walking and cycling routes.
Inchovea Schoolhouse was renovated into a family home over 12 years ago and we look forward to sharing it with our future guests. We are located in a wonderful part of County Clare within easy access of the Cliffs of Moher and the many attractions of the Burren. We are in a rural area, surrounded by nature and its wonderful sights and sounds. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
We are located in the countryside but we are close to a number of towns. Kilfenora - approx. 3 miles. Small village which is known as the "Gateway to the Burren" and houses the Burren Centre where you can take a walk through time and be introduced to the ancient mysteries of the Burren and follow the story of the formation of the Burren's landscape. There are some small shops here where you can pick up bread, milk etc. Ennistymon - 15 min drive. Market town with good restaurants and pubs which I can recommend. There are a few supermarkets here with a larger selection of food and drink than the local shops of Kilfenora. Lahinch - 20 min drive . A lovely seaside town with a gorgeous sandy beach, an 18 hole links golf course, numerous surfing schools, good nightlife and lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Liscannor is also close by with a few good pubs. Clahan rock pools are around the corner too, great spot for swimming on warm days! Doolin - 25 mins drive The home of traditional Irish music, what more can I say! Great nightlife, good food and dropping off spot for day trips to the Aran Islands. Ballyvaughan, Cliffs of Moher and Lisdoonvarna (home to the annual matchmaking festival and Clare’s only Michelin started restaurant) are within short driving distance too. Galway is also only 2 hours drive away for a day trip. We will provide a guidebooks with our recommendations upon your arrival
  • Very nice, little off the road but quite. Cliffs of Moher and burrens very near to reach by car. Great and friendly host.

  • Due to travel changes, we ended up not staying here. However, before the trip Rosalie was friendly, helpful and informative :)

    Holly2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb was in an excellent location with plenty of places to visit and eat, plus a national park to hike for awesome sights and photography. Local restaurants served spectacular meals. Rosalie has a gorgeously decorated home in the country, yet central to all the sites you want to visit. Her home is very clean, and it was handy to have kitchen availability for breakfasts.

  • It is an absolutely stunning place! And Stephen is a fantastic host. Thoroughly recommending the place!!!

    Julia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The whole experience staying at Stephen‘s place was fantastic. As a host Stephen was super welcoming, greeting us with some firewood and local eggs, and giving us recommendations for nearby places for a nice hike. Also communication was super helpful and fast. The house is magnificent! The view from the living room is spectacular and the big kitchen invited us to cook. The surrounding area is quite nice to have a long walk. All in all everything needed for a nice vacation!

    Jasmin2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's house is absolutely stunning. We were blown away with the view of Liscannor Bay and the quality of the property. As a host, Stephen was on hand to help us with any questions we had. We would highly recommend the venue. The only negative was that the property could have done with a bit of a dusting on the windows and that the property was quite cold and we were asked not to adjust the thermostats. That being said, the wood stove was a lovely touch. Thanks for a lovely stay Stephen!

    Sam2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stephens place was beautiful, in a lovely remote location, and just what I was hoping for. He was very quick to respond to questions, and the check in and out process was seamless. The views are spectacular and it was a pleasure to spend a few evenings with the fire lit in such a wonderful space.

  • This place is phenomenal....well worth it. If you want to relax, unwind and just have an awesome space to do it in, this place is it. The space is massive, views incredible and perfectly situated with lots of privacy. Stephen was very responsive and helped us with anything we needed. Will definitely be back.

  • Such a beautiful space and location as well as a wonderful host - can’t recommend highly enough. Stephen was super responsive and gave lots of great tips on places to eat and nearby hikes. Weather was cold and rainy but the views are beautiful nonetheless - and the chill was the perfect excuse to stay in and cook and cozy up by the fire. Thanks for everything, Stephen - hope to stay in your lovely home when our travels bring us back to Ireland next!

Clahane Shore Lodge NEW 3 bedroom house with amazing views of the Ocean from every room. Sit under the stars & listen to the ocean from our spectacular sea facing patios . It’s the ideal setting for walks along the coast, visiting the Cliffs of Moher and has all the amenities of Liscannor-seafood restaurants and traditional music pubs. It is perfect for visiting Lahinch Beach, Doolin, Aran Islands & The Burren. A haven of peace and tranquility, it’s the ideal place to relax and unwind.
This brand new house has a very stylish & modern open plan kitchen/living & dining area with spectacular views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean & countryside from every room. It has 3 bedrooms & sleeps 8 people . The utility room has a washing machine/dryer. There are 2 patio areas looking out over the ocean and it’s the perfect location to watch the sun rise & set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Why not go for a swim or just sit and watch the waves crash on the shoreline from your doorstep.
Liscannor is a magnificent coastal village on the west coast of County Clare, situated at the end of Liscannor Bay – and it’s a place that really comes into its own during the summer season. It has an award winning seafood restaurant, while there are also plenty of pubs, a bakery, an art gallery & coffee shops. There’s plenty to keep you busy in and around Liscannor. The Cliffs of Moher are just 4km/2.5 miles from the village – while angling is a very popular activity both at the pier and at the beach. Little people will also love a trip to the Moher Hill Open Farm – to meet some favourite animals and learn while having fun. Just outside the village you will find Clahane- a palette of dramatic scenery, that hosts the purest natural landscapes and has unhindered panoramic views of Liscannor Bay and beyond to Spanish Point and Mutton Island. Liscannor Bay is a bay on the west coast of Ireland in County Clare. Hag’s Head provides the northern border for the bay and Cream Point the southern. The village of Liscannor is located on the north side of the bay, while the village of Lahinch is at its eastern end. A short unpaved pathway from the local road (Cloghaundine) enables pedestrian access to rocky outcrops along a considerable stretch of coastline. Lahinch is a small, welcoming and truly lively holiday resort only 4km from Clahane with an atmosphere and energy that’s all its own. It nestles at the head of Liscannor Bay, beside a 2 km long beach of golden sands. The shape of the resort creates Atlantic breakers that attract surfing and canoeing enthusiasts from all over the world and Lahinch has earned a reputation as a top ‘surf centre’ – with surf schools, social life and great atmosphere to boot. It’s also great for lovers of other water sports too: sailing, swimming, kite surfing, skin-diving, deep-sea and fresh water fishing are also popular here.
  • We had a wonderful stay in Bríd’s home. The views were spectacular and you cannot beat the location. We highly recommend this beautiful home. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, with everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back!

  • What a beautiful house and location! Very special indeed. The house has been designed to maximise the stunning views towards the ocean, which can be gained from throughout the house. The accommodation was stylish and modern, though still warm and homely. Perfect base for exploring the west coast of Clare or just chilling out for a few days.

  • Our stay in Clahane Shore Lodge was a wonderful experience. The beautiful house added to the most amazing location make the place incredibly special. Brid is a great host and I can't recommend her house enough to anyone wishing for some good time by the sea.

  • Fantastic stay, couldn't recommend it enough

    Eoin2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brid's home is absolutely stunning, inside and out. You can tell their family spared no expense in building this lovely home, it truly felt like a luxury rental. It is a fully functional family home with all the trimmings - we were able to prepare a full American Thanksgiving in their kitchen. Brid was very quick with responses - including asking about little questions like pots and pans in the rental! I really appreciated that. We visited in November, and we had no problems with heat and hot water. There were what felt like a million channels on the TV to watch when we needed some downtime. So close to Cliffs of Moher and beautiful towns. I would suggest making sure you grab food/drinks before going to the house as it is a bit off the beaten path, but that is the point, isn't it? So lovely and we look forward to when we can return.

Your accommodation is a bright spacious double bedroom with ensuite facilities. It has it's own private entrance. It is located on a quiet road overlooking the Wild Atlantic Way. It is situated on an elevated site with uninterrupted views over the Atlantic Ocean, Aran Islands, Connemara and the stunning golden sands of Fanore beach. The Burren's limestone hills frame the backdrop to your accommodation. You have a choice of three walking routes just outside your gate.
Your bedroom has a double bed with adjoining shower and toilet. Also included for your comfort, is a couch where you can relax and watch the sun go down on Galway Bay. Enjoy my home made scones on your arrival. For your convenience there is a kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, microwave and mini fridge. To set you up for the day ahead you can enjoy a continental breakfast of fruit juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit, my own homemade brown soda bread and tea or coffee.
This is an ideal base to explore the unique Burren area, visit the Cliffs of Moher(18k)and enjoy a trip to the Aran Islands. Daily ferry services operate during the summer. You may want to just stay local and enjoy being in Fanore - the beach(beach towels available), surfing, walks, cycling. Take in the spectacular views while relaxing at the picnic bench. The local pub serves food during the summer months. There is also a small grocery store in the village and this is open every day. Doolin village is less than a 15 minute drive away. All pubs here serve food and most have traditional music sessions nightly.
  • Incredible spot. Super comfy room. Breakfast overlooking the ocean is pretty priceless.

  • Marys place is a very special place to stay in with the most incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean . The room is beautifully decorated, spotless and very private. I highly recommend a stay here

    Jimi2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place was hands down one of the best AirBnBs we have stayed in. Such a beautiful space, amazing views, and thoughtful touches (homemade breakfast!)! Our only complaint was that we didn’t book enough time in here!

    Elisa2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • In this accomodation you will get a lovely breakfast and an amazing view over the sea... from the bed!! Wow!

    Angelina2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The best experience ever made on Airbnb: starting with the location of the house, the view is spectacular, facing the ocean, allowing you to enjoy a magnificent view in the morning. The room is a sort of annex, quite large, with attached bathroom. Comfortable bed, clean room, soft blankets and nice pillows, bathroom just as big by classic standards and a nice shower with hot water immediately. The strong point is certainly the owner, Mary, a very kind lady who has shown herself available from the beginning, clear and impeccable communication. Despite late check-in, he explained the whole house well and we exchanged a pleasant chat, knowing additional information about the place and travel tips. Mary also prepared an amazing breakfast with all the comforts (coffee, juice, bread, butter, jam, cereals, fruit, biscuits, etc.) that made us feel at home. During breakfast, the view of the sea takes you to another planet. All great! Thank you very much Mary! Congratulations for the great service;)

    Andrea2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great time staying at Mary’s place. The place was immaculate, very cosy and comfortable and had beautiful views! Communication was very prompt and clear and we really enjoyed the personal touches such as scones and soda bread with Jam. We would recommend anyone stay!

    Alex2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is the friendliest person, extremely responsive and goes out of her way to make her guests feel welcome. I had mentioned my husband and I were on a trip celebrating our anniversary in a previous email exchange and she had a note with a beautiful picture of the sunset in Fanore waiting for us on arrival. It was beyond thoughtful and something we will keep forever. She even had a small breakfast/coffee/tea/juice set out for us so we could fuel up before we headed out. We haven’t stayed in a Airbnb yet that has offered us that much! Do yourself a favor and stay here! Only regret was not being able to spend more time. This was a quick stopover for us so would have been nice to stay longer. Thanks Mary for everything!

    Whitney2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's space at the Ocean's Edge had positively breathtaking, unencumbered views, with big windows looking directly out to the sea, which was their backyard. The room itself was the cleanest place we stayed during our entire trip, with crisp, fluffy linens and towels. The day was brisk and raw and her space was a total refuge. To top it off, she made us delicious scones to eat a breakfast!

Located on the Wild Atlantic Way, this converted 100 year old cow house has been newly renovated into a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment that sleeps 5 people comfortably.
The building itself dates back over 100 years and still obtains its original stone walls. Sit outside on a nice summers day and enjoy the views of the Cather Valley and its mountains. Or on a rainy day sit in by the turf fire with a glass of wine or cup of hot cocoa..... Whatever you choose you will not be disappointed with your stay at Carley's Cottage
We are located in the heart of the Burren right on their Wild Atlantic Way. Just down the road is the beautiful Fanore beach where you can get surf lessons at Aloha surf school if you are feeling adventurous! We are located directly on the Cather Valley Loop walking trail and just moments away from the Burren Way walking route for those hiking enthusiasts.
  • This cottage is super cozy and beautifully maintained. It's in a remote area, surrounded by farm animals and nature galore. I highly recommend this listing to anyone traveling in the area, wonderful scenic drive to the Cliffs of Moher. The host's were welcoming and friendly, thanks again for everything!

Follow the slate and sedum to The Blue Stonecutters Cottage atop Doonagore, a lovely high point with Atlantic views. The home enchants with original features, including beams, recessed windows, and period furnishings, such as the 100-year-old range.
The cottage dates from just after the famine and was lovingly restored a few years ago. Staying here is like going back in time. The renovation preserved as much of the original character of the cottage as we could and we have bought many period pieces to keep the cottage authentic. The cottage has a double bedroom and bathroom. In the lounge there is a sofa. In the lounge there is a wood-burning range. The lounge leads into a pine countered kitchen. Doonagore is quiet and rural, yet the buzz of the coastal villages of Doolin, Lahinch and Liscannor are only a few minutes away. Every day you will discover something new in the ever changing colors and hues of this most spectacular part of the world. You will truly forget what you left behind.
Sitting on a quiet country road in Doonagore with the buzz of Doolin, Lahinch, and Liscannor villages only minutes away, the cottages were built around 1850 for the stonecutters who lived in Doonagore during the days the stone quarry was working. Getting married in Doolin? Ask us about our fabulous elopement wedding venue Tigh na Ghra.
  • Loved our stay here. Traditional Irish cottage, cosy and comfortable and although quite rural it located well between highlights of the wild Atlantic way so makes a great base.

  • This lovely little place is an oasis in the heart of one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. Highly recommend! We felt at home! Orla provided homemade breakfast treats for us with a note to wish us a happy anniversary! A special place!

    Carolyn2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Orla’s home was beyond expectations. We were greeted upon arrival at this beautiful, clean, and warm space which was filled with amenities and had no shortage of stunning views (even with a little rain). Every thoughtful touch made this an ideal place to stay! We hope to be back again.

    Jordan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Orla’s place was a dream. She thought of everything, and I mean absolutely everything. Every time we found a new little personal touch we were delighted and astounded at her thoughtfulness. Also, perfectly clean and the view is to die for! Highly recommend!

    Katelyn2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Orla was a very friendly and helpful host. The room is comfortable, with some nice touches. The bathroom had extras, incl shampoo and conditioner. The breakfast was nice, especially enjoyed eating it with such a magnificent view.

    Michelle2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was honestly the best airbnb experience I've ever had, and the best stay I've had on my trip to Ireland. The space was very clean, bright (even with the rain), stylish, and well thought out. Orla has thought of everything a traveler might need to feel at home, and her hospitality was above and beyond. The bedding was so luxurious and comfy and ensured a good rest every night. The exercise mat allowed me to properly practice yoga for the first time on my trip. And the homemade baked goods were too delicious. Having a morning coffee while looking out to the shore was an amazing way to start each day. And the location is only a few minutes drive to Doolin and other towns with good eats, and of course the Cliffs of Moher and Burren National Park. I only wish I could've spent more time here -- highly recommended stay. Thank you Orla!

    Terence2020-03-07T00:00:00Z

A ground floor apartment in a converted barn beside the old teacher's residence in Fanore, a small coastal village in the heart of the Burren's karst landscape. Situated below the 'Burren Way' walking route and looking out to the Atlantic & Aran islands. Please read the full description before making a reservation request and if you have any questions we would be happy to answer them.
The apartment was designed to maximise the feeling of space, to highlight the lovely and ever changing light and to take advantage it's beautiful surroundings. This open plan studio is a simple uncluttered space in the heart of the Burren, on the Wild Atlantic Way, 10 minutes walk from the main Beach via a track to the shore (or 15 minutes via an alternate route) and just 2km from the Burren Way walking route. The thick walls and large windows emphasise the feeling of being inside in a clear space and looking out on the Atlantic on one side, Black Head on another and up onto the green slopes of Slieve Elva on another. The main space is furnished with genuine antique Irish pieces e.g. the press bed with a choice of either feather mattress or 100% cotton futons dressed with pure linen and pure cotton sheets. There is also a futon couch which can be used as a second double bed. The apartment is unusual and some of the arrangements have put the aesthetic ahead of convenience e.g. in the bathroom the sink is a steel bowl on a limestone pedestal (one empties the sink on to the shower drain). To continue the simple theme the taps are just curved copper pipes. Also the slope in the limestone tiled wet room floor is not as good as it should be and one needs to use the french tub or mop after showering to avoid too much of a spread of water. Heating is provided by either oil fired central heating or, if one wants to stay in the old world atmosphere, a cast iron turf and wood burning stove. The land around the studio is a mix of organically cultivated vegetable plots (guests are welcome to some vegetables in season) and wild grass where there is a constant struggle between the wild flowers and the briars. A note on the internet: the wi-fi can be slow at times and if you need to stream movies and the like that's rarely possible at high quality unless one can let them load a little before viewing.
Fanore is a small village in the centre of the Burren in County Clare in the heart of the west of Ireland, a rough jewel between the waters of the Atlantic and the lunar-like limestone landscape that defines the Burren. It is situated on the coast between Ballyvaughan, Doolin and Lisdoonvarna (all about 15km away) - about an hour's drive from Galway and Ennis. The village itself stretches out along the coast, consisting of a pub (O'Donohues, serving food May-Sept) and a shop. The nerest ATMs are about 30 minutes drive in Ennistymon and Kinvara so having some cash is useful. The nearest petrol stations are 15km.
  • Marvelous Place. Marvelous Host.

    Michael2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this place! Finola ans Daniel went above and beyond to accommodate us. Quite rustic and basic accommodations but perfect.

    Lisa2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Finola and Daniel were great hosts. Storm Dennis did it's best but we had hearty fire with plenty of central heating to ward off the chills. The space itself is like a cosy art installation with the kitchen well kitted out and the fresh bread, milk and oj a delicious addition. Oh and don't worry if you're new to the area Finola will help you out with whatever you need to know :)

    D2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, warm, quiet and great views from this little hideaway. Finola and Daniel and wonderful hosts and most helpful. This is the place to go if you want to get away from everything and just chill close to nature.

    Aoife2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Finola's place is a wonderful escape from the hustle bustle of city life. It's such a relaxing place, close to the sea and a short drive away from neighbouring towns. This is our second time staying here, and we will definitely be back time and time again.

    Laura2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as lovely as all the previous reviews had stated. We didn’t get to meet Finola, but it’s easy to see that her and Daniel go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed. There were so many thoughtful details included in our arrival. Daniel also gave us loads of suggestions for the area as well as Galway, our next destination. The barn itself is beautiful and charming, and it was always cozy and warm during our stay. Fanore beach is just down the road and the Cliffs of Moher are about a half hour drive. This was one of our favorite Airbnb experiences ever and I definitely recommend it.

    Ruthie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb stay ever! Finola and Daniel were so kind and helpful. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy with everything you need! The windows are perfect because out of every window is the most majestical view of the countryside and the ocean! A 10 minute easy walk takes you to the wonderful local pub with great food and entertainment, the local shop with many convenient items and the breathtaking beach! This is the perfect staging base to tour the west coast of Ireland - Doolin, the Aran Islands, Galway, Ballyvaughan and The Burren! Please stay here, you will not regret!

    Laurie2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Finola and Daniel were truly wonderful hosts. Kind, attentive and made me feel comfortable and at home. The space itself is great! You are very much out in the country side and the views are just beautiful. It's quite cozy and there is a beach about a 15 minute walk away. Ps - I did not have a car while in Ireland but there is a local bus that services this area quite well so if you are hesitating due to the location, I assure you it's totally doable by bus and I highly recommend it!

Ideal spot to rest, read, play boardgames etc. House has all amenities required and more. Also walking distance to Aillwee cave. Ciara and John were amazing hosts. Really made us feel at home in the accomodation.

  • A beautiful haven in the unique landscape of the Burren.

    Mícheál2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most stunning house in an extraordinarily beautiful location. The hospitality from Ciara and family was equally outstanding. There is nothing about our experience that I would change as it was absolutely perfect. Our group consisted of two adults, two teenagers and 1 dog and all of us were enchanted. Really looking forward to returning in the near future.

    Marie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Best Air bnb you will find! Absolutely stunning, had a truly wonderful stay from start to finish. Ciara’s eye for detail is something to envy.. this house is so tastefully designed and decorated. You will be in awe. We were welcomed by homemade treats and Prosecco.. Ciara’s daughter made us homemade cookies which was such a lovely gesture and they tasted soooo good. Really can’t recommend Wood Smoke enough.. best stay we have had in Ireland. Co Clare is a beautiful part of the world and admiring it from a hot tub under the stars is something we will remember. Thank you Ciara, John, Naoise and Luna x

  • Ciara was an amazing host, she did so much to make our stay so memorable....I proposed my to my partner and when we returned to the house she had rose petals everywhere candles lighting and a bottle of champagne on ice. Was amazing made the day so special. I would recommend ciara and the amazing romantic escape house in a heartbeat. We will definitely be back.

    Ray2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ciara is a fantastic host. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great weekend in Clare. The house is spectacular and inside and out. Ciara's attention to detail and extra touches such as homemade brown bread were a lovely surprise. Ciara was quick to respond to all communications. She and her family made us feel incredibly welcome. Her hospitality is second to none. They went out of their way to ensure the hot tub was ready to use for us when we checked in. The area is incredibly beautiful and there are plenty of gorgeous little villages to discover nearby. I'd recommend exploring the local area on foot to take in the stunning landscape. We got incredible fresh fish in Linnane's Lobster Bar shop in New Quay. It's also worth stopping into the Hazel Mountain Chocolate factory in Bellharbour. Thank you Ciara, we will be sure to recommend you and we will definitely be back!

    Michelle2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The combination of gorgeous views, amenities at the cottage, beautiful art and hospitality above and beyond makes this our favorite home to have stayed in. Beds were comfortable, everything was functional and working, pillows ample and cottage was climate controlled to our liking. The clever way the cottage is allocated to be environmental was great. The views from the windows are pure Burren beauty. When venturing out, John and Ciara's recommends are stellar.

    Shannon2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ciara’s place is an amazing, refreshing and peaceful retreat to unwind and reconnect with what matters..such thoughtful touches, to expert local knowledge, helping us light the indoor fireplace and preparing the outdoor hot tub and sauna...to such great flexibility during our stay. We truly enjoyed meeting Ciara and her husband John, who was also a super great host and a great guy..we’d love to return one day if the planets align..

Our brand new micro-cabins are almost 100% off-grid, with a wood burning stove, solar powered lighting, etc. The leafy outside area has a deck/porch, and a barbecue/patio area solely for guests use. There's lots to do locally, with beaches nearby, and a short walk will bring you to the heart of this colourful village, with lively pubs, good restaurants, Irish music. Kinvara is an ideal base to explore The Burren.
Please read our check-in guidelines below before making a booking. Cabin 2 has a bedroom, living room/kitchenette, and little shower room/WC. It really is tiny, though slightly bigger than Cabin 1, it measures only 6m x 3.3m in total! It's very bright, with lots of windows, and a skylight. (The bedroom has blackout blinds) Hot water is instant, the shower is good. It's heavily insulated all round, which means it keeps the heat in, and also keeps the summer heat out, so it's a nice ambient temperature. The lighting is powered by a solar panel, and the toilet is a composting type, called a Separett Villa. Check it out online!
The cabin is less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of the village. While in Kinvara you will find a weekly farmers market (on Fridays), lively traditional Irish pubs with nightly music and a handful of gourmet restaurants, as well as the grocery store, post office, etc. About 10 minutes away by car there is a Blue Flag beach called Traught. The Burren is a short drive away (you can see the hills of the Burren from the cabin) where there are wonderful hiking and exploring possibilities. Kinvara is a popular base from which to explore the cliffs of Moher, Doolin, the Burren, and other places of beauty.
  • What an absolute pleasure to stay in cabin 2! It was cozy and comfortable with the wood stove, great bed, and all the facilities we needed for our 3 day stay. It was home from home! Kinvara is beautiful village with great pubs. Thank you Frank for being so helpful. Jen and Charlie

  • Thanks very much for your kind hospitality. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was so cosy the 2 nights we stayed there. It was terrible weather while we were there but that stove did its job and more. Lovely modern toasty cabin in a fab location. Can't wait to stay again 😀

  • Frank's cabin is such a cosy place, we had a great time there. Frank is a lovely host, he has promptly replied to our requests. Kinvara is a cute village with everything you need for a comfortable stay and it's located a short distance from Galway, but even to stunning places around the Burren. Scott & Pamela

  • We had a lovely stay at Frank & Catherine’s cabin - we wish we could have stayed a little longer! We could see how much love has been put into this place and felt very welcome, with the stove already lit on our arrival, leaflets with what is there to do in the area, a bottle of milk in the fridge etc. The second night, there was a storm which kept us a bit restless, but of course that was completely out of the hosts’ hands - just keep in mind that the walls of the cabin are a little thinner. The petrol station next to the cabin is great for breakfast/snacks and Kinvara itself, which is only a 10 min walk away, has some great pubs and restaurants. Thank you for the great stay, Frank & Catherine! ☺️

Fermoyle Cottage is located in the heart of the Burren on the Wild Atlantic Way. This cottage is located on the Burren way walking route and Caher Loop walking route. This is a perfect place for families and people who love the country atmosphere.
This cottage has modern conveniences you would expect of a new house and also a solid fuel stove in the sitting room to relax in front of on those chilly winter evenings. Please note that the single beds that are in the double bedrooms are roll away beds. these are only set up if a reservation is for more than 6 people or if requested.
Fanore village is a beautiful seaside village that has a pub, shop and restaurant. During the winter months the pub only opens at night for drinks (no meals) and the restaurant is also closed. If you want to go out for an evening meal in the winter you will have to go to one of the neighbouring villages of Ballyvaughan, Doolin, or Lisdoonvarna. And don't forget Fanore's beautiful sandy beach that is great for swimming and surfing if you feel up to it.
  • The Spacious Irish cottage is a wonderful place! It's a remote, but very modern place in the Burren. We as a family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The location to the Cliffs of Moher, Fanore Beach, Galway, and other beautiful places is perfect. There's plenty of space in the bedrooms, kitchen, and family room for 7+ people. We hiked up the mountains around the cottage and enjoyed the gorgeous views.

  • We had a wonderful stay and the house accommodated our family of 8 just beautifully including our young children. Plenty of space outside for them to run and play. We had all the amenities and conveniences that we were used to back home in the States. For our 1st trip out of the country and traveling with our large family we didn't know what to expect. Staying here made things very easy and started our trip out on on a good foot.

  • Beautiful large home with all the amenities. Nice to have a washer after a long trip and they even left dinner for us. Added to an already great trip!

  • We had a wonderful time at this cottage! It was peaceful to stay off the beaten path and we enjoyed waking up to beautiful farmland views. Patrick and Jessica left us a meal to make when we arrived with fresh milk. We left the cottage relaxed and would love to visit again.
