I stayed here for 3 months during the summer while on a clinical rotation at the local hospital. This place is gorgeous! Conveniently located in the heart of Charles City and very close to everything I needed - within a mile or two. It has very modern decor and was the perfect little place to call my short-term home. Very clean with many amenities included (dishes, cookware, towels, bedding, trash, etc.). Kim was available for questions whenever they came up and was always quick to respond. Thank you for a great summer!

A perfect place away from home. Everything you need is provided, apartment is well taken care of. Updated, but still maintains the history of the building. I loved it.

This was the BEST Airbnb I've ever stayed at. My spouse and I go away for long weekends and pick our location based on the coolest airbnb we can find, and then don't leave the whole weekend. This was perfect. The couches are super comfy. The two beds have different types of mattresses. (One is memory foam) The kitchen is very nice and efficiently laid out. The best part was the shower. Omg it was the most amazing shower I've ever used in my whole life. It is giant. It does rain, waterfall, multi jets, hand held, and a spigot too. It has the best water pressure of any rain shower head ever. We were there in the winter, so we had a pretty view of the river, but didn't visit it.

This place is top notch. Not only is it beautiful, but even the view in the Winter is great. I can only imagine it in the summer. Everyone in town was awesome and so friendly. Missy has everything you could need at the house and is very helpful. Definitely a the small town charm.

Linda’s place is a beautiful large home. The house if very charming and has tons of room. The bedrooms are comfortable, the living and sitting rooms are comfortable and beautiful. We cooked in the large kitchen and relaxed in the living room watching movies. Linda’s recommendations and advice on local stores and were detailed and very useful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend Linda’s place to everyone.

This was a great house for my family of 4 & for my sister’s family of 5. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out & not be on top of one another. It was a very pleasant experience. Loved the charm of this older house!

This space is perfect for two. It is within walking distance of nearly everything. Charles City is a friendly community and this apartment is the perfect place to enjoy it from. The kitchen is well stocked with what you might need to cook a meal. Huge comfy bed., plenty of closet space, well lit and sunny. I enjoyed my stay in this charming, unique apartment immensely.

This quiet neighborhood was the perfect spot close to downtown Mason City. Just right for my overnight stay. The room with adjoining bathroom was clean, comfortable and welcoming as was the friendly host. Would stay here again if available.

Clean room and bath

While staying here, I felt like I was in my home away from home. The bedroom was comfortable, cozy and private. There was access to the rest of the house including a well stocked kitchen from which to cook as needed. The accommodations were well stocked and always kept clean. Always felt any requests were heard and addressed adequately and quickly. My stay here was great and the location in the city was convenient. Easy to access all the local attractions. Great experience!

Karen’s place was a perfect place for me to stay while I was there for work. She was very accommodating for my schedule and the apartment was clean and quiet and had everything I needed!

Staying here was much better than expected! It was big and spacious and the temperature in the room was always cool but never cold. While the wifi was spotty at times, Karen was quick to respond and always fix it. The TV had Netflix available as well as YouTube TV! Neat! There was silverware, plates, bowls, pots and pans and the basic selection of spices. She was also very accommodating to our small dog! If we have the chance we'll definitely stay here again.

The place is great, the host was quick with responses. The neighbors up stairs are respectful and kept the noise level at a minimum. Get used to no windows because this place literally has no windows. Everything that you need was there, a massive kitchen with plenty of counter space to cook, two restrooms, shower washer and dryer, and a queen size bed. There is a Casey’s general store a block away, if gas station food isn’t good then Mason City is only 9 miles away with plenty of options.

Crystal’s room has everything one would need and is close to all the attractions in Clear Lake and Mason City! This is our 2nd time staying at her place!

Great place and comfortable stay !

Crystals home is in an ideal location for accessing Mason City and nearby ClearLake. She shares her home with 4 adorable cats, and if you’re inclined they’ll happily curl up in your lap in the sun room and let you pet them. If cats aren’t your thing then that’s fine too as they’re corralled from the basement bedroom. This is a great area with a comfortable bed, air con, fridge and a seating area with TV. It’s private and has a separate entrance. Crystal is in the process of building a bathroom down there which will be a great addition to the place. I found my stay very relaxing and hope to return one day.

Crystal is a very attentive host for whatever your needs are. She's got a wonderful vintage home that she has made very cozy. It felt just like going to my sisters house. Her parents have a little sandwich shop called Pete's Kitchen. Wonderful homemade desserts and great gyros! There is a tv in the room with roku so you can watch almost anything you want. Internet was great. Nice washer and dryer if you need, which I very much appreciated. She has 4 cats that she has rescued and loves very much. They were never a bother. If you love cats they are there to snuggle with you! If not, they will leave you alone. The kitchen is well equipped and I was able to cook the foods I wanted. She has a well stocked coffee area. There is a gold fish tank to watch for relaxation, kind of like watching a fireplace. She's always making improvements to her property. I will definitely stay again! So glad to have found this place.

Very private room with a mini fridge and TV. If over 5'5, book the upstairs room or be prepared to duck on the stairs when entering/leaving this basement room. Will have a private bathroom soon as well! Crystal was very nice and accommodating. She had breakfast ready for us before we checked out, and we got to hang out with her and her cats.

Crystal’s place is very welcoming atmosphered home. She furnished the room with very calming items Bed is soft and the room has smart tv and small fridge also a microwave. Her place is sparkling clean and she has outstanding serving heart for others. In the morning she has left with little note that says feel free to crab snacks and breakfast at her home. Also she has 4 cats they are adorable and loving Had a such comfy night Thank you Crystal :)

My stay was quiet, sparkling clean and cozy as always. It’s also in a great location - close enough to town to be convenient but far enough to feel like you’re “getting away” at the end of the day. I’ll be back soon!

We only stayed one night, but having the whole basement was excellent. I was very comfortable here and slept really well. The hosts were really nice and helpful. Would stay again!

Privacy & cleanliness

Kim and Leah were such wonderful hosts! They were thoughtful, thorough, considerate, welcoming, and warm. The basement was clean and well-stocked with amenities. I forgot my toothbrush and was able to choose from a selection of colors and firmnesses. :) The bed was large and comfortable. Above all, Kim and Leah were wonderful and kind hosts who made me feel so welcome at their home! I would gladly recommend this stay to anyone.

I loved staying here. It’s so peaceful and quiet, I slept like a baby. And the bed is insanely comfy. Lots of thoughtful touches like books and games, and basically every toiletry you can think of in case you forget something. I’ll be back for sure.

Booked a room for my mother as she was travelling with my brother for his first days at Wartburg College. Kim was simply amazing. She provided free transportation during all the stay and at anytime; and gave my mother helpful tips. The room is very cozy, private and extremely clean. Everything is well organized. Many thanks Kim. In a couple of months I will be flying from Sydney to Waverly, no doubt I will be staying at Kim's place.

Kim’s place was magnificent! It’s in a good neighborhood, bottled water and all sorts of other amenities were provided, a nice comfy bed, and they even gave us homemade pumpkin pie when we got there:) Kim and Leah were also so nice and welcoming! We definitely recommend their Airbnb. Outstanding!

This log cabin is a must stay!

Great long weekend. My wife and I stayed here with another couple for 3 nights. The goal was to get a way without having to travel far and this was perfect. Very laid back country feel with nice outdoor areas and fire pit. Cabin was very nice. Golfing not far away in Riceville or Osage. Charcoal grill and wrap around porch was awesome. Remember to bring bottled water as it is very hard well water. Also, the only bathroom is off the Kitchen area, we were with close friends so it was not a big deal to us. I highly recommend this place.

This place was charming. Very nice pool, bathrooms were so clean, beautiful river running next to it. The host and hostess work day and night to keep it looking grand. Very up to date cabins and superb attention to details. A true camp in the woods and wonderful RV park.

The pictures don't do justice to the house, patio, porch, or parking. We loved the patio. It is on the lake with a wide view. Both the patio and porch have plenty of seating and dining options and you look directly onto the lake from both. You could easily fit four or five cars in the parking area. All three bedrooms had large, comfortable beds and there is plenty of good seating in the living room. Check out the games in the cupboard. We found everything we needed to cook a few meals. We recommend a trip to the apple orchard - great people.

We stayed here with our 3 girls and grandson and the place was very nice. Was able to cook our meals and relax on the porch overlooking the water. Linda was very helpful and considerate, checking in on us after a storm moved through.

The Lake House is beautiful! Decorations and amenities inside are outstanding and the back patios offer a wonderful opportunity to relax and unwind next to Cedar Lake. We highly recommend visiting and look forward to coming back again next year.

Wonderful place and location.

Always clean, relaxing, caring and fun! These folks have become friends and if what you're looking for is an out of the way escape that takes you away from the aggressive rat-race of city life, you will find this retreat to be golden! Nice, fully functioning camper, Wi-Fi, power, heat, air, and TV that you will probably never use, unless the weather doesn't favor the "always stocked" fire pit! Bryan is the S'more Master and Cheryl has all of the tips and info on anything and everything should you use them as a "jumping-off" point. Both are genuinely helpful, kind, and fun!

This place is a gem! It was so much fun for our 6 year old to stay in a camper and sleep in a bunk bed and waking up to a view of the beautiful pond was so wonderful! The camper was clean and comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. The shower was nice and hot. Check-in and -out were simple and Brian and Cheryl and their co-host Dave were so welcoming. The fire and s'mores were a great bonus. We will definitely return the first chance we get!

Brian and Cheryl are absolutely lovely! They are very serious about the s’mores by the fire, and really welcoming their guests. I was in town for work but this place felt like a vacation. The camper is set up in an ideal spot and feels like your own are to relax by the lake, but they are always right there to help. I hope I will get a chance to visit again!

This place is a wonderful stay! VERY accommodating hosts, lovely property, sweet pets and great conversation. The fire-pit is the communal hot-spot and the S'mores are top notch! The waterfall created by Bryan and Cheryl adds such a peaceful ambiance and the starlit nights, make you want to gaze well beyond bedtime. Cheryl is a sunset buff who has taken many fantastic photos and has converted many to canvas. Their pond is a lovely focal point and you may see deer, Blue Heron, and bald eagles during your visit. If you enjoy the company of people who have a real zest for life, this will be an absolute treat for you! Brian and Cheryl’s camper was perfect for our family’s weekend. They thought of every little detail and made us feel totally at home. They even were super accommodating when additional family members came to enjoy the campfire for a few hours. Stay here if you want super air bnb hosts and a relaxing setting.

If you are traveling with a family, this place is perfect and spacious. What a value for the space. It really does remind me of my own Grandma's house and oh so homey and clean. There is a nice patio also. Easy in and out with plenty of privacy.

Granny Z’s is lovely! Quiet, clean, comfortable bed, nice neighborhood, roomy, nostalgic ... reminded me of the house I grew up in! We stayed there on a long road trip from Tennessee to Minnesota and liked it so much we planned our return trip so we could stay there again!

Very nice place in small town Iowa. We needed a place to crash after attending a funeral in Charles City. We didn't spend much time at the house but everything there was great.

Had such a wonderful stay. We really enjoyed the mid morning hike in the woods. There is no doubt about it, we will be back for sure!

Guaranteed to be a relaxing retreat. Penny & Dan's attention to detail is superb - from the fresh baked cookies, to the sign welcoming us personally, to the fabulous grounds and trails, Stations of the Cross, fireplace...it all was incredible. This is s great little secluded spot for animal lovers. We loved the chickens, cows, ducks, pig and dogs that greeted us. It is like staying all night at a petting zoo!

This was a great place to relax and unwind. Close enough to towns if you want to explore but out far enough you can feel like you are in the middle of no where. Loved the animals!

The Honeybee Cottage is incredible! The cottage is decorated in a shabby chic decor with special touches and meaningful messages everywhere you turn. My favorite place to relax was beside the pond listening to the cows and chickens, while watching the ducks playing. This is truly a magical place!

My wife and I loved our time here! Set on a beautiful lake surrounded by gorgeous woods and pastures, Honeybee Cottage is a sweet and beautiful getaway for a couple. Penny had everything ready for us down to the personalized welcome sign, and the cottage itself is just delightful! Penny showed us around and left a golf cart for our use during our stay! Next time we’ll need to leave more time to enjoy the grounds and nearby hiking trails as well.

This was a relaxing stay. It’s away from city noise and it’s a great place to disconnect. We enjoyed building a fire and having S’mores (provided!).

Due to current home construction we needed a local place for my family to gather for the holidays. This was a perfect space. Clean and nicely updated home.

Only a block from Wartburg’s campus — LOVE! We booked it based off reviews and photos, but honestly it was even cuter in person! Heat was fine throughout the house, which is a huge plus. Not an insane amount of kitchen supplies, but that was alright because we were only there for a long weekend. Bedding was great. Shower was great. Overall a really wonderful weekend made possible by a local air b&b. We are thankful to have had this as an option☺️

The pictures of this apartment simply do not do it justice. It's absolutely adorable - and exquisitely clean. The decorating is minimalistic but not anemic, stylish and cozy without being overtly so. There are TVs in every room, ceiling fans and alarm clocks in both bedrooms, the are plenty of towels, the shades are very light blocking and the beds are very comfy. It was so much better than any hotel room I've ever stayed it, hands down. When we booked, we didn't plan on using the second bedroom - we intended to keep our two-year-old in the room with us in a pack and play, but come the day of departure and we realized one of our sitters had it at her house, so the two bedrooms came in super handy with him co-sleeping for the first time ever. We didn't do much beyond sleeping here (got in very late both nights and headed out early both mornings) while we were here but there is a fully-equipped kitchen and dining table, a large tv in the living room and enough space to have some quiet time alone, should that be wanted. The neighborhood was nice, the other tenants were quiet - there are simply no negatives whatsoever with this stay and I would recommend it to anyone needing a place in this area.

Scott is a thoughtful and quick-to-respond host. The place was very clean, and we had everything we needed. We even had some delicious cinnamon rolls from a local bakery/business (Kountry Kupboard, please check them out!!) waiting for us when we arrived. Happened to check Airbnb last minute because we were coming to town for a wedding—so glad I did! Max’s place was much closer than hotels. Super cute cabin, very clean, beautiful property. Only wish we had more time to hangout by the pond or to have a fire! Definitely recommend!

WOW! Our little family had a change in plans so we were looking for a weekend getaway. Max graciously accepted our last minute booking and the adventure began! The Buck Shed Cabin is absolute perfection! Sparkling clean, charming decor, and furnished with all the basic amenities. Tucked away yet close enough if you need anything. The pond provided a beautiful setting to watch the sunset (I snapped some GORGEOUS pictures) and we enjoyed some tasty s'mores on a fire that Max helped us get started (and even gave us the firewood!) Max treated us like royalty, personally sharing some of his finest creations (check out Bone-Headz Taxidermy, Antler Creations, and Antlers on FB!) and even treated our son to a few small treasures. The cabin itself is welcoming, peaceful, and picturesque; and the host topped off the great experience! Definitely recommended!

Max accommodated my daughter and I at the last minute, and he was very quick to answer us when we needed anything. The cabin and the grounds surrounding the cabin are pristine and full of little surprises. I will definitely be back to this hidden gem of a place.

We enjoyed our stay at the BuckShed Cabin! Max greeted us at the cabin when we arrived. He went over a few rules concerning the cabin and his deer. The cabin was very clean and is very nicely decorated and furnished. We needed more propane for the gas grill and Max replaced with a full cylinder. We were starting to get the campfire going and Max brought us some dryer wood and paper to help us. Bugs were terrible especially away from the cabin. Be sure to bring your bug spray of which we did. The bedroom was warm even with the air conditioner going. Could have used a fan/ceiling fan in bedroom. The bed is very firm for those of you who like soft beds. The best part of our stay was being away from everyone so we could enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. We watched the birds and listen to them sing. We watched the fish and bull frogs in the pond and listened to their deep croaks. We did see Max's deer a couple times from a distance as he requested. Seeing the stars at night in the country away from the city lights is always amazing! Would I go back to BuckShed Cabin? Definately would when need some wind down time from city life. Thanks Max!

Lynn and Dan were amazing hosts. The loft was the perfect spot for a girls night. The space provided everything that we could possibly need including games, a full kitchen with all the basic tools to cook with, a comfortable bed, and best of all an amazing view. The view in the loft allows you to see everything the cows are doing ( it’s actually really entertaining) and the workers on the farm. We were even lucky enough to be there when a calf was born. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful experience! My girlfriend grew up on a dairy farm as a child so I brought her here as a birthday surprise getaway. She was so impressed with the new technology and all it has to offer. Dan was so passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience in the dairy farming industry, and Lynn was amazing at communicating with me prior to arrival. This place is so clean and comfortable it felt like home. We sipped wine and played cards all evening in the loft overlooking the cows. When it was time to leave my girlfriend wanted to stay, she is already planning another trip here with her 4 sisters.

Great place & location

This was by far my favorite Airbnb stay to date. Becky was a wonderful host and the apartment is an incredible space to hang out in for a few days. It almost feels like you could be in New York City or Chicago... The staff downstairs at the Teluwut bar and grill are incredible - be sure to stop in for a cold beer and a bite to eat and the staff will make you feel like you're home. Highly recommended!!!

The location was ideal. Above a resturant and bar, near other bars and a brewery and right next to a grocecy store.

This place was bigger than we expected. Super cute and modern. Had all the necessities that we needed. It was just right for our family of four. The kids had their own spots to hang out.

The loft was great, excellent location and huge space. The check in process was pretty seamless and I loved being right in the center of town. Great for hosting family while in town.

Becky’s place is a unique, super clean space with lots of character and thoughtful touches. Very comfortable and conveniently located. Would highly recommend!!

This is a very large, spacious house, located centrally in town. A really great location - and the house is very well kept. Lots of extra sheets/towels/blankets are easy to find.

This house is comfortable for an older home. Beds were comfortable, 3 showers to get ready in. Plenty of seating room in the living room and dining room to have guests over. Great location, and close to everything.

This guest house was a great experience, much better then hotels in the area.

Very spacious, great for large groups and longer stays given the multiple kitchens, refrigerators and laundry areas.

Linda was so easy to work with and responded very quickly to any questions I had about my stay!

Large older house with lovely character. Very clean. Wonderful space . Host was excellent and very easy to work with. We were attending a wedding and needed an early check in time. We were able to get in early, making the rest of the day less stressful! Great location.
