“Sukhna Lake is the most prominent tourist attraction in Chandigarh. It is a beautiful manmade lake that stretches over 3 Km. The vast expanse of this lake enveloped by the blue sky and Shivalik mountain range presents a breathtaking sight. You can choose to boat, stroll or simply sit and relax here. At the front end, you may find some amusement rides for the kids. Adjacent to the rides are a few shops and a cafeteria that usually remain crowded on the weekends. If you want some alone time, visit the dead-end of the lake. To reach the end point, you pass through a fabulous boulevard of trees with a golf course on one side and staircases to different entry points to the lake on another. People are seen walking, exercising and running during the early morning hours and evenings at this place. You may spot a group of college students enjoying a get-together on the staircases of the lake very often.”

Bar
“The real attraction of this bar is the meticulous design. It is fashioned after a proper British pub from the 1920s. All wood and leather chairs, it’s a perfect place for a quiet evening. The front opens up in the evenings to a deck of draping vines and edison lights. It’s a lovely place for a romantic conversation ”

“Shastri Market is where you can get anything and everything. The entire family can find clothes and accessories at this place. Enter this market in the late afternoon or evening to have a gala time while buying products. This old market has several products available at reasonable prices. You will find it fun to buy handicrafts, apparels, and gift items here. You can also buy utensils and groceries from this market. The place also has a variety of accessories like handbags, jewelry, and shoes to offer. Just make sure that you try and bargain because there’s a lot of scope for negotiation. ”

“This restaurant should have an International Award. They serve traditional Mughlai food and there is truly nothing like it. Order the Sikandari Raan, the Murgh Wajid Ali, the Murgh Malai Tikka, Kumbh Makki Masala, and of course an assortment of naans and rotis. The cuisine is utterly heavenly. Do not accidentally go to the one in Elante. The two do not compare. The decor is fun, there is a gigantic tree in the middle of the restaurant and lanterns peppered about. The staff is friendly and the copper cups are gorgeous ”

“Amigos is an absolute delight to the city of Chandigarh. Amigo’s is a fully vegetarian café. This may sound unappealing at first until you try the incredible selection of pizzas with artichoke and capers and goat cheese and all sorts of other toppings unique to it. The café itself is a wonder, the outdoor seating is akin to the Secret Garden with ivy climbing the bright yellow walls and string lights hanging like a crust of stars over the tables.”
