  • A wonderful little cottage in a great location. Claire's place was lovely and clean. Breakfast was included which was good and had nice touches such as little chocolates and access to netflix! The space was perfect, there was only 2 of us but could have easily suited 4. Claire was a great host and popped by to say hello, and offered advice on the local area.

    Jen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at Clare's place, it's perfect for breaking up a long road trip with the kids, who heartily ate their way through all the breakfast goodies!

My house is a beautiful 2 bedroom house with 2 floors in the famous tourist village of Edwinstowe. It has a bedroom, bathroom, front room, kitchen & stunning balearic style cocktail garden. Minutes walk from Sherwood Forest & centre parks. 35min City
My space is modern and very comfortable with all mod cons like the latest Apple TV, music channels, balearic cocktail bar, fire pit, evening garden illumination and seating patio on the front of the house etc. I have a very comfortable double bed in one bedroom and a lovely new corner sofa bed (double) in the lounge, allowing 4 guests to stay in total. The 2nd bedroom upstairs is an office space and is locked to guests. I also have beautiful 3 mile views over the fields and canopy of the legendary Sherwood Forest and a national bike/walking path that starts at the foot of my house and goes deep into the forest. I also have two good mountain bikes to rent out for £15.00, per bike, per day, so all my guests have the opportunity to see this stunning nature reserve in all of its glory. Please let me know if you are interested in the additional mountain bike hire.
My place is literally and instantly bordering fields and trees leading within minutes into the forest. In 5 minutes you saddle a river that is beautifully lined with trees. This takes you into the forest (also a great place to swim in the summer) either to sherwood pines or Sherwood Forest nature reserve. My home is also very close to stunning attractions such as centre parcs (1.5 mile away) rufford abbey (2 miles away) thoresby hall (4 miles away) climber park (7mikes away) sherwood pines (1.5 miles away) Sherwood Forest nature reserve literally starts on my doorstep and is a 5 minutes walk away. I’m also a ten minute walk to the village centre where there is a picturesque high street offering a bistro, French restaurant, brand new smart canteen and bar, traditional teak pub bar and restaurant in keeping with the area which is beamed and full of character. There is also a brand new restaurant opening in the old library, a cake and coffee shop, gift shops, 3 Chinese takeaways an Indian take away, Turkish kebab takeaway and a good old fish and chip shop. There is also a post office on the high street with a good sized coop for amenities. My home is in a very quite spot in the village overlooking fields, trees, rivers, Sherwood pines and the start of Sherwood Forest nature reserve. If you would like to ask any more questions please reach out to me and message me. Warmly, Cory
  • We have the best time at Cory house and honestlly the house is clean and warm wich was the best way to spend couple of nights in the place calling Home! Very relaxing and Cory gave us some good tips about where to spend our time in Sharewood forest and central parks around. Great experience and highlly recommended!

  • Stayed 2 nights over Christmas, lovely place. Great communications from Cory with all the information we needed to use the house. Spotlessly clean, a very welcoming host. Many Thanks

    Stuart2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cory was so great! He gave very clear information on where everything is. His place was spotless and gorgeous! It’s exactly like the photos. Shower and water were lovely, great temperature and pressure, plus there’s a heated towel rack! The house heats up quickly which is a bonus on cold, dreary, rainy days plus, added bonus, the floors are heated so your toes are toasty! And the bed is to die for! It’s very comfy and warm. He has a few items in the bathroom and kitchen, spices, toiletries etc, helps when you run out or forgot to pack something. Cory was quick to reply to messages so I felt confident if I needed anything, it would quickly get sorted. It’s also very safe, not only do you have neighbours near by but the doors have locks, so you can sleep easy. It’s an easy walk to everything, highly recommend St Mary’s Church ask for Harold or Graham. The cutest cafe on high street and Sherwood Forest is an easy walk too. The village itself is very friendly. The children’s schools are putting on nativity plays and there are plenty Christmas services. Highly recommend staying here!

    Claudia2019-12-12T00:00:00Z

Park Cottage is a 100 year old building on the edge of Worksop and is within 20 mins of M1 and 10 mins of A1. Private staircase leads to the guest bedroom with large adjoining bathroom. Outside is a private hacienda style patio area and large driveway. Garage is available for 2 motorcycles or 1 classic car to keep your other family member warm at night. Cycles, outdoor equipment and even canoes are not a problem. For a minimal cost, a fire pit and seasoned hardwood logs can be made available.
The room and bathroom is to the rear of the property in the quieter part of the house overlooking the patio area. There is now a king size goose feather and down quilt with 100% Egyptian cotton cover and pillow cases. Guests will have tea and coffee making facilities in their room along with a small fridge. Breakfast will be Cereals, yoghurt, croissants or Danish pastries, porridge pots, jam, honey, fruit and fruit juice. Chocolate bars are also provided in case you need a sugar rush. There is also free fibre Wi-Fi and Sky TV (recently upgraded to Sky Q) with full sports and movie packages. On demand, box sets and record facility are also available. (BT Sport not available). Rental movies will be charged at cost. (More channels than you can shake a stick at). The garage is also available for the storage of motorcycles, cycles, and any other outdoor equipment you may have. (Please check before booking if you have larger items such as a classic car or canoes). There is room for larger items but space needs to be made available. Please note that we do have 2 shy but friendly cats. They do not have access to guest facilities at any time unless a door is left open, when they will see this as a personal invitation for them to have a good look round.
There is a municipal 18 hole golf course literally across the road. Local amenities which are a few minutes walk away include a small supermarket, Post Office, newsagent, bakery, hair salon, chip shop and public house. Bassetlaw Hospital is 5 minutes walk away. (Ideal if you are working there, as you would not need to pay for parking). Hodsock Priory is a 5 minute drive away. Within a 20 minute drive are Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest, Welbeck Estates and the market town of Retford and Bawtry. Slightly further afield are Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Mansfield and Nottingham. The historic cities of York and Lincoln are around an hour away, as are Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and Halifax.
  • Park Cottage is a superb place to stay! It’s extremely clean & comfortable & the extra thoughtful touches eg miniature toiletries were most welcome. The breakfast consists of a very good choice, including fresh fruit & yoghurt. I resisted the mars bar & bottle of beer!! I used the local bus - the bus stops are just around the corner & Keith very kindly messaged me details. Thank you Debbie & Keith!

A newly furnished wooden cabin situated in our garden with extensive views over the local countryside. The cabin has been furnished to a high standard and includes a double bedroom with hypnosis mattress and 100% cotton bedding for a great nights sleep. It has a small bathroom with a compact corner shower unit with water jets. The kitchen has a full size fridge with small freezer, small counter top mini oven microwave and 2 ring hob. The cabin is part of our 10 acre working small holding.
Guests will have sole use of the cabin and can enjoy views over the local countryside from their own terrace. We have two dogs sometimes three and a cat who will come to say hello. There are lots of animals on our small holding to enjoy watching and a small fishing pond at the bottom of our field which you can fish. There is space in the living room to set up an airbed for extra guests at no extra charge if you bring your own bedding/sleeping bags. Small extras have been provided, tea coffee sugar and milk. Salt and pepper. Washing up liquid tea towels and dish cloth. Toilet paper kitchen roll, foil and cling film and a supply of firelighters and wood for the small fire pit. There are several blankets to use if you choose to sit out at night. There is soap in bathroom and soap and hand lotion in the kitchen. Hangers and a hairdryer in the bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for self catering.
On the edge of the peak District and almost direct access onto the Teversal Trails where you can enjoy biking walking or horse riding. Hardwick Hall is only 4 miles along the trails. There is a local coop less than a mile away and several pubs within the area.
  • My favourite air bnb experience so far. Everything was spot on with the lodge - really warm, lovely high quality furnishings, comfy and huge sofa, great kitchen and wonderful bed. Amazing views of countryside all around the living room and all mod cons. I could live there! Feels very private and the dogs were a joy too - really friendly and soft. Second to none hospitality - we were brought fresh farm eggs and had a lovely morning seeing lambs born just that morning and chatting to Chris about the farm. Paula was very quick with responding to any questions about the booking and check in was easy and smooth. We had a great walk to Hardwick Hall, Paula was so helpful with directions. Loads of walks and runs in the area and Hardwick Inn is a great pub for lunch and beers post walk. This is such a top spot for a weekend break, you can just stay in the lodge and cook or get a takeaway! A lovely family and a lovely spot - an experience that reminds you how great Airbnb is to have genuine experiences. Thank you!

  • Lovely setting, perfect for a couple of days to chillout and relax. Will be back in summer when we can sit on the little deck with the fire pit

  • Fantastic little retreat! I went for a weekend away and a breather and couldn’t be more pleased. The cabin is immaculate and well presented, lovely and warm with a great little kitchen and soft furnishings. Even though it was a rainy weekend it was still beautiful to sit and relax, especially with the family dogs popping on to the deck to say hello and sunbathe (when the sun did come out). Paula was very welcoming but also we were able to relax and unwind. There was lots of walks around if that is your jam but great for a simple cuddle up and read weekend too. I definitely will be coming back for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

  • Lovely stay at Paula’s place the whole family were very helpful and welcoming. Dogs were lovely and got to feed the sheep along with meeting the other animals. A lovely mini escape for a weekend!

    Sam2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • An extremely light, comfortable, modern wooden cabin on an elevated ridge of Magnesian limestone, overlooking open, rolling farmland. A great base for exploring the towns and stately homes of both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, as well as archaeological and geological sites. Plenty of nearby walks to observe the wildlife by day and to rekindle my interest in astronomy, whilst sitting outside at the front of the cabin to observe the night sky. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, all amenities absolutely spot on and it was so quiet and dark at night. Paula and Chris are indeed superhosts, being both friendly and knowledgeable. I would have no hesitation in recommending the cabin and will certainly be returning again sometime in the future.

The stairs to the mezzanine are very clever but I imagine if you're less mobile probably a little tricky. Lesley and Dale are a kind and communicative couple.

A double room in my lovely modern home, with use of the family bathroom. I live within 15-20 mins drive from Mansfield and Worksop. Chesterfield, Sheffield and Nottingham can all be reached in less than an hour. Sherwood Forest is less than 10 mins drive, with lots of nice walks in the vicinity. Easy on street parking and a relaxed homely feel.
The room has a double bed and space to hang your clothes. It is at the back of the house so very quiet and looks out onto the garden. The bathroom is just down the landing. Towels and toiletries are provided, and please help yourself to a hot drink downstairs. I'm happy to help you out with other things you might need, or may have forgotten so please do just ask. My home is very relaxed, it's not a hotel, but that's what I and my guests enjoy about it. I offer a clean space but my stuff may be around. I am a busy person but rest assured your room will always be clean, tidy and ready for you! I don't stay in the house but am easily available by phone and can be back in less than 10 mins if there are any problems. I have other rooms listed so if more than one guest booked, the bathroom and kitchen facilities will be shared
I live in a quiet residential area with no through traffic as it is a cul-de-sac. It's only a few minutes walk to the village high street which offers a Post Office, bakeries, butchers, grocery store and various take aways.

  • This is a very cosy little cottage, with everything you need. We had a great couple of nights with the family. The kids loved the garden - there’s a treehouse and lots of toys. We’d definitely recommend.

  • We had a long stay here ( 11 nights) while visiting family and this was a very homely and comfortable place to stay. The kitchen was well equiped and thoughtful touches such as fresh milk in the fridge on arrival were appreciated after the 30 hour trip from Australia. Would definitely recommend and stay here again

A budget option of a single room in my lovely modern home, with use of the family bathroom. I live within 15-20 mins drive from Mansfield and Worksop. Chesterfield, Sheffield and Nottingham can all be reached in less than an hour. Sherwood Forest and Sherwood pines mountain bike trail are less than 10 mins drive, with lots of nice walks in the vicinity. Easy on street parking and a relaxed homely feel.
The room has a single bed. It is at the back of the house so very quiet and looks out onto the garden. The bathroom is just next door. I have other double rooms listed so if more than one guest is booked, the bathroom and kitchen facilities will be shared
I live in a quiet residential area with no through traffic as it is a cul-de-sac. It's only a few minutes walk to the village high street which offers a Post Office, bakeries, butchers, grocery store and various take aways.
  • Good value. Clean premises. Quiet location.

Central location allowed me to get to town centre, grocery stores, supermarkets, restaurants and shops easily. Convenient rail access as well. Great amenities. • What a beautiful property and what wonderful hosts! The house is the perfect mix of modern and kitsch cool. It was also always toasty warm which considering our group was two Australians and an Indonesian travelling in winter was much appreciated! The breakfast options of fruit, cereal and toast was a lovely touch and very generous amount of cereals to choose from. The shower and bathroom on the first floor were a dream, perfect after a long day hiking around Sherwood Forrest! It was perfectly located for all we needed to do and only five minutes from shops to stock up on supplies - the kitchen was so well appointed we ended up cooking every night because it was such a great space! Can not recommend this host enough. If we are ever travelling in the area again we will not hesitate to stay here. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

  • A great find :) Stayed 4 nights whilst visiting family in the area. It was perfect for me - somewhere peaceful and quiet to come back to and rest, only minutes from the train station - and my favorite running route along the chesterfield canal :) I had my car with me this time and there was always parking along the road. House was spotless and my room was comfy and warm. Great to have a little kettle and choice of teas in my room as well as the ones in the kitchen All communication was clear and easy and Liz was welcoming and friendly. Good value place and would stay again. Definitely recommend.

This recently refurbished apartment sits above Heist Brew Co bar and Brewery. With floor to ceiling feature windows, this 2 bedroom, 1 ensuite spacious and open planned studio apartment boasts quirky evening mood lighting, and unique decor that adds to its industrial styling. Offering the unique experience of staying above a brewery we also offer brewing experiences which can be found via our website by searching Heist Craft. Or check out our events and come and stay with us for the weekend.
Heist is situated in an old school from the 1800's and is attached to the brewery which is situated in the oldest building in Clowne so the building is steeped in history. It is also a building with original characteristics such as single pane wooden framed windows and wooden structural beams which have been stripped to their original glory. The apartment has 2 bedrooms which are divided, however it is recommended that if both bedrooms are being used for the stay that the parties know each other as they are required to share the bathroom attached to Bedroom 2. The bar is operational hours are as follows: Mon - Closed Tue - 12 - 9 Wed - 12 - 9 Thurs - 12 - 10 Fri - 12 - 11 Sat - 12 - 11 Sun - 12 - 9 The walls are very thick between the bar and the apartment however it is worth noting that customers and music may be heard on busy evenings until closure.
Clowne is an old mining village situated in the middle of rolling fields surrounded by a number of other villages, local parks, heritage sites, Manors, stately homes as well as being home to walking and cycle routes with links to national routes. Clumber Park, Creswell Craggs, Bolsover Castle, Hardwick Hall, Welbeck Abbey and Rother Valley to name but a few local attractions. (Gullivars world coming soon to Rother Valley) There are also other towns, cities and other attractions within driving distance (or a short bus or train journey) such as Chesterfield, Sheffield, Worksop, Newark as well as the famous Chatsworth Manor for a bit of culture and Meadowhall shopping centre all within a 20 - 45 minute drive. Heist is located 2 miles from the M1 with quick links to all the above. Sporting activities are also in abundance such as walking and riding, climbing and bouldering, water sports (Rother Valley) as well as multiple golf courses: Rother Valley - 7 mile Renishaw - 6 mile Bondhay - 2 mile Lindrick - 10mile Worksop - 9 mile Barlborough - 1 mile Clowne is small enough to walk around with local tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and bars with the best obviously being Heist. But all offer something different for a multiple night stay.
  • The apartment was lovely and their beer was fantastic too. I would highly recommend.

  • If you're looking for somewhere peaceful, quiet and in the middle of nature - then this place is perfect. It's a great spot in a beautiful house that is a farm. You have your own living room and kitchen, all of which goes straight to the garden and where the chickens and ducks are - so good place to have your morning tea! Alison was also very hospitable, helping me to get to the School of Artisan Food and back (where I was doing a 3 day course). Was also lovely to be given fresh breakfast food, including eggs from their own chickens and homebaked bread. Would highly recommend it to anyone!

  • We have just returned from a fantastic few days in loxley lodge. Liz made the trip easy with good good tips on places to go and a lovely welcome basket. The place was fantastic. Beautiful, stylish and we could cycle everywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely return.

  • We’ve just returned from a lovely weekend and family get together to celebrate my husband’s 60th Birthday. This place was the perfect getaway, a beautiful place to stay and high spec with everything you need in a lovely forest location with the addition of a large hot tub (plentiful room for six people) Despite storm ‘Dennis’ raging we made good use of the tub, had some cozy family time, and enjoyed a couple of forest walks with our dog. Liz (the owner) was very informative and courteous leaving us a wonderful welcome pack including a homemade cake, even putting up birthday balloons and banners prior to our arrival. Totally recommend this holiday let anytime of year ... I imagine it would be lovely in the summer too making use of the lovely outside BBQ area. Hopefully get to try this in the future. Thanks again Liz The Flannery Family

    Jillian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing - you won’t be disappointed if you stay here! The location is spot on, and very peaceful, which we found perfect for dog walks (the spacious garden, with private drive, is all enclosed which was also great for the dogs). High-end fixtures and fittings.. You can tell that Liz and Paul take pride in this place and the quality of everything, from kitchen utensils to the wood-burning stove, is clear to see. I expect that I’ll be returning at some point in the future!

  • Loxley Lodge exceeded all our expectations! The lodge itself is beautiful, photos do not do it justice. Hot tub was a great perk! Location was beautiful, we enjoyed a long walk through the forest and Sherwood pines to a local pub for lunch. Liz & her husband live next door, and were very attentive to any niggles we had. The welcome package was so thoughtful with treats for both us & the pooches. The thoughtfulness and attention to detail continued throughout, such as multiple towels for inside and the hot tub, toiletries provided & kitchen essentials. We most definitely would love to return in the summer months to enjoy the bbq and cycling routes.

  • We had a lovely break here in between Christmas and new year. The hosts were very welcoming and greeted us with a super welcome basket including treats for humans and dogs. They really have a beautiful lodge l and their hosting is superb, giving us advice on walks and places to eat as well as being on hand should we need anything. The hot tub was a fantastic addition and Liz maintained it well and at prior agreement, the secluded safe setting was perfect for our dogs to mill around outside while we were in the hot tub . In fact this was as much a holiday for our dogs as it was for us and our Cairn was so relaxed he forgot to bark at everything! Thank you Liz and Paul for a wonderful stay

  • Expect to be Wowed ... Loxleys Lodge is a gem ! Arrived Christmas Eve to a roaring log fire and a welcome hamper of fresh bread, eggs , milk , biscuits, chocolates , mulled wine and so much more... even some dreamies for Wilson (our Siamese) The hot tub was bubbling away too looking very inviting. Liz was there to great us and explain everything - a lovely host from start to finish ... nothing was too much trouble . She had even baked us a fruitcake (old family recipe) as a Christmas gift... (other times of the year she bakes scones with clotted cream and jam ) What a lovely touch, 1st class . Christmas Day was spent enjoying the forest location, festive feasting and fab hot tub dips . Boxing Day took us clay pigeon shooting just 5 minutes away from the Lodge . Fabulous Christmas? Truly the best ! Don’t hesitate to book

  • We highly recommend staying at this beautiful woodland lodge as it outweighed all of our expectations and was the perfect little family get away in the woods. Liz & Paul were the perfect hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed and included some very sweet personal touches of homemade afternoon tea scones - they were delicious!! Our 4 legged friend enjoyed his welcome treats too!! 🐶! The outside space would be perfect for spring/summer bbq's, however the hot tub in the dark nights was blissful! It felt like we were at a fairytale gingerbread house with the festive lights on the lodge outside to accompany the bubbles!! We will definitely recommend to family and friends for future stays!! Big Thankyou!!
