  • Philippe is an extraordinary host. The chalet is rustic but in exceptional comfort. I love this place to the fullest '

  • For a couple of backcountry campers, Philippe's cabin was luxury. It was evident that the design was well thought out, from the tiling in the cabin, to all of the practical little touches. My boyfriend, dog and I were in heaven. My dog is usually quite anxious and it was nice having a weekend away where she was super relaxed. When deciding on which one of Philippe's cabins to stay in, we decided on this one, because of the hammock. The hammock did not disappoint! The location of the cabin is very nice; we loved the super tall hardwoods and all the wildlife (from the cabin we saw a Pileated woodpecker, as well as a deer while we were snow shoeing and lots of cool tracks). Philippe kept good communication. I highly suggest this place for those who appreciate the quiet, simple life -turn off your phone and bring a good book!

  • A tiny hut with an abundance of beauty that mother nature offers to you. Don't miss out on the scenic route on highway 28 and 41 until you get to the dollhouse (I was traveling from Toronto, ON). What an amazing host, and an awesome experience!

  • Donna and her husband are a kind, lovely couple. The cottage is cozy for a smaller family of 3 or 4. The craftsmanship of the place and cleanliness is a 5/5! You can walk right out to the river. Just make sure to put on a life jacket! My teens and I were so excited to get in the water, we forgot and struggled to row the row boat. The river gradually drifted us away. Thankfully our neighbours were around and helped us back to shore. 😂 The evenings are perfect, with the easy sound of water flowing by, and the fire pit for roasting marshmallows and conversation. We even took the time to watch the sunset 🌅 It was a lovely weekend getaway. We went water rafting with Rafting Momentum and found out the next day Donna’s husband crew built their barnyard. It is definitely one to admire. All and all we would recommend Donna’s place if you’re looking for a quiet getaway or just want to enjoy the Ottawa River. The cabin is stocked with dishes, pans, coffee maker, a mini fridge, hot plate, a small tv, towels, toiletries and all. Lol Donna was the sweetest hottest with the mostest. Everyone we met in the area was extremely nice. 😊

    Shereen2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean place. Donna is awesome and she cares for us have a nice journey. She a top host! The place awesome and the view is so much beautiful! I love it!

    Michel2018-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • fantastic cabin directly at the river. it had all we needed and was very cosy and extremely clean. Donna is a great host! I can recommend it to anybody who likes the nature, take a swim in the river, do some bbq, sit around the fire, enjoy wonderful sunsets, ...

    Sandra2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fully stocked kitchen. The small fridge is a bar fridge though. The pedal boat is great. My children had a great time. The cabin is in close proximity to other guests, but my children enjoyed meeting new people. The space is beautiful, and the area is nice. Would recommend to people who don’t plan on bringing a pet. :)

It is one street over from Main street. Two minutes from Hwy 148. It is also close to several beaches and many lakes. It is a 20 min drive to white water rafting (Wilderness Tours), 25 min to Renfrew, 45 min to Hull and 1 hour to Ottawa.
  • The Cozy Shawville house was just what we expected! A charming little house, walking distance from everything. The beds were comfortable. Just what we hoped for!!

  • Tammy's place was absolutely a gem. Spotlessly clean, conveniently located, quiet, cozy and relaxing. Both my partner and I enjoyed a bag of chips left for us upon arrival, and Tammy's attention to detail is delightful, as well as fresh, clean linens on our bed and total peace and tranquility. We highly recommend Tammy's place and thank her for a wonderful stay.

  • Very cozy house that felt like home! I was in Shawville for work, and being able to come back to Tammy's beautiful place and relax after my day was greatly appreciated. Close to a cafe, bakery, restaurants and a grocery store. Highly recommended if you need a place to stay in Shawville.

  • The house was charming with plenty of space. Super clean and tidy. We were in Shawville for a wedding and having a house in town made things so easy. Just a minute walk to a nearby restaurant for a tasty (and low-priced) breakfast. This was my first time using an Airbnb and Tammy was quick to answer my questions. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone traveling to Shawville.

This section of the Ottawa River corridor is rich in biodiversity from fields to forests, with a world class paddling river running through it all. Spring/summer in the area sees a lot of tourists and white water enthusiasts and so road traffic increases on rural roads during these seasons. Please exercise caution when driving/jogging/cycling around blind corners and be prepared to make way for farm equipment and trailers stacked high with whitewater boats!
  • We had an amazing time! The property is absolutely amazing, all the extra little touches make the place even better! My son could have spent his whole day on the hammock chair. Julia was super nice!! It’s definitely a place I’d Recommend to friends and families who want to unplug and enjoy nature.

  • We had the pest time.relax nice people perfect Trisha everybody well love to visit the place ! 👍❤️

    Youssef2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin, very spacious and includes a lot of amenities. Clean and nicely decorated. Really enjoyed the open grass space at the back to the woods and fire pit. Beach is a very short walk and beautiful, the water was so warm as well! Trisha was a very nice and friendly host and very flexible. My only complaint is there are a lot of cabins close together, which means a pretty busy spot. The weekend we went was also very hot and the cabin doesn't get any air flow so bring lots of fans!!!

  • Larry's places is amazing, especially if you do OWL rafting. It's located less than 5 min from owl . The place itself is very clean, and very hospitable. Larry has whatever you may need, and he is very nice . The place is first line to the Ottawa river. Highly recommended!!!

    Yaniv2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was so happy when I found Larry on airbnb. We were rafting with Owl and I didn't particularly like the options available and the nearest town doesn't have a lot either. We took over his basement, 2 bedrooms with very comfy beds, a lounging area, and separate entrance too. He provided a variety of cereals and bagels/bread, juice/milk etc for breakfast. Larry was very friendly, having a chat with me and my 3 teens and was also helpful when I thought I lost my spare car keys after we left. (Found them elsewhere - whew!) I would definitely recommend.

    Arnold2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We simply loved the look & feel of Larry’s place. Amazing view of the Ottawa river. It was like finding a hidden gem for us. Quite a bit of activity options very close by. This experience was equally matched by the thoughtful touches & advice by Larry. Simply loved it & already planning on going back soon.

  • Very nice stay! Pictures don’t do it justice. Bigger than we thought, very nice patio area. Very clean. Good hosts as well. We were running low on firewood after the first night and after messaging them, they brought more wood within the hour. Peaceful area, nice lake.

    Yasmin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage with great amenities! We had a blast and would definitely come back again. The water in the cottage is a bit smelly due to iron in it but the board games, paddle boats, canoe and many other amenities more than compensate for the smell. Also, the hosts provide bottled water.

    Carlos2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a group of 8 kayakers that came to the whitewater region to play on the big Ottawa rapids. We loved coming back to the cabin after playing on the river or hiking. It was such a nice space to hang out together and talk about the highlights from our day. We divided up the three bedrooms and still had plenty of space for three air mattresses in the living room. The grill and kitchen made it so fun and easy to have big dinners and cook breakfast together nearly every day of our stay.

Our chalet Cadieux is located on the Ottawa River and offers amasing views and the best sunrise around. Situated on a road in a forest of ceaders animals like deer and birds also call it home.
Expect top comfort of some of the nicest cottages/chalets at a more reasonable price. Our space is all about the outside. a huge double deck and a great waterfront along with complimentary use of canoes, kayaks and pedal boats availlable to make your stay even better. The Ottawa River is great for fishing with your QC and ON liscences.
Whitewater rafting with Horizonx rafting is the activity to do in the summer time for the whole family. We are conviniently located near attractions like Chutes Coulonge and all the major towns in our area. Visit tourisme-pontiac website for more on our great region. Cadieux road was part of an old fur trading portage route going back to 17th century.
  • I required a fairly large area for my parents, myself and my brother and his family. The location was easily accessible and the main floor was full of light with a bright big open space. The main table and adjacent kitchen brought me the idea of renting this location for my next business board meeting. The rooms we nice and clean with a cottage feel with all the wood trims around the cottage. The master bedroom is impressive and my parents loved it. The basement was the extra that made our weekend... A nice lounging area with a ping pong table to provide a bit of activity along the way. Isabelle was easy to communicate with and the bottle of wine and personal note on our arrival confirmed we were being taken care of. I would recommend this rental for a large group or a business retreat... it has the space and the amenities required. Unfortnatley we were there in December and couldn't take the canoe to the river on the property... Until next time. David Ryan Embrun, On

  • My friends and I had an awesome weekend here. The view was breathtaking and the cottage itself was spectacular, it was really clean and modern but still had a home feel. Nick was a great host, always available and accommodating. It was also a bonus that there was a canoe and a kayak for us to use, so we were able to go in the river. We will definitely be coming back!

It was incredibly quiet and peaceful, and you can sit out back and watch the sunrise and sunset over the river. Or go for a nice paddle boarding session from the dock out back. The place was beautiful and well decorated, clean and cozy. I would definitely stay there again.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Nick's cottage! We were 5 adults and felt comfortable in the space. The view is obviously great and it's very quiet. Cell service is spotty but to be expected. The kitchen was great and easy to prepare and serve meals. I'd bring your own oil, spices, foil, etc. We'd go back for sure!

  • There really aren't words to describe just how beautiful this cottage is and how gorgeous the river looks nestled beside it. With geese on the river, every day of our stay, it was heaven to wake up to the massive view of the water in the Master. The cottage itself was clean, very well stocked (with much more than we'd anticipated including dish soap, laundry soap and toiletries in the washroom) and quite stylish! We loved the craftsmanship and personal detail that clearly went into the restoration and modernization; Nick clearly takes very good care of the cottage. The kitchen was perfect, and had everything we could need, the table would fit 10 adults comfortably, making big family-style meals a real joy. In the living room, there are more than 500 DVD's, current movies and few great older ones like Best of Jimmy Falon from SNL, which we loved watching once the kids were in bed. While there is no AC, you won't need it, the cottage keeps itself cool via Nick's expert placement of windows to direct healthy air flow. Directly outside the kitchen, there is a massive outdoor table, nestled directly behind a well maintained fire pit that seats 8-10 adults comfortably. Firewood was easy to find in the wooded areas and Nick provided firewood as well, and an Axe so could cut more as needed. Directly beside the house is a little shanty with everything you need for the lake, in addition to marshmallow roasters, cord to tie floaties to the dock, etc.. We got a lot of use out of the paddle board, there is a private beach directly across from the cottage within paddling/canoe or swimming distance (for a strong swimmer), and there are multiple sandbars that are easy to reach. Standing in the middle of the river on a sandbar has to be one of the coolest experiences we've had. The river is excellent for swimming and the paddle board got a lot of use. The water is clean and, because it is a river, there are no black flies. The sunsets are incredible. Truly stunning. We had a lovely stay at this cottage and highly recommend it for families looking for a great getaway that is also close to Renfrew (made getting supplies a breeze). Nick is supportive and responsive as a host. Don't wait to book this place, book it now and then book it again for next year. It was the BEST family vacation we have had. Bar none.

    Jennifer2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous week at the cottage. Bright, clean, new and a setting/view that is calming and beautiful at any time of day. Very secluded and quiet with all the modern amenities. Take the drive in slowly there are a few tricky spots. Bring towels, and spices if you are planning to cook special meals. BBQ has to stared with the BBQ lighter as the ignition switch does not work. Overall our family, including a 2 year old, had a really enjoyable stay. Email and phone are spotty but Nick was quick to respond on Messanger.

  • Great little cottage, very clean and perfect location for paddlers.

    Dan2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the guest house for a relaxing summer getaway! We were looking for a spot with easy access to water - the beach was great for a slow wade in and some fun in the kayaks. There were neighbours nearby but we were alone for most of our stay. We had a great lunch at the brewery down the road, and found groceries, a nice cafe, and some ice cream in Cobden. Would recommend planning ahead for food/groceries since we didn't find a lot of options in Beachburg itself and Cobden is about 20 minutes away.

    Heather2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great little apartment, tons to do, location is great if you're looking for something a little out of the way. Quiet and peaceful. will go back if i ever plan another trip in the valley

  • Beautiful secluded area with limited services close by if you want a rustic feel. Shared beach both a blessing and a curse as there are several other neighbors, but host was able to offer us a location we could swim to that was perfect.

  • What a gorgeous place! Even nicer in person than in the pictures. Very private cottage, on a beautiful property. The cottage has absolutely everything. It made for a wonderful family weekend getaway.

  • Games room was amazing! We had a great three days/nights at this cottage. Would stay again. Our son is already asking us when that will be.

    Steve2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay - would definitely recommend. Check in was very simple, and the hosts were in touch and available if anything had come up (which it didn't). Beautiful property that had everything we needed for our stay. Lots of space for our group of 7 to spend time together or to spread out and have some quiet time. Thanks for the great weekend!

    Katie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place with lots of stuff to do.

    Travis2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This chalet is beautiful, spacious, and has a lot to offer. Definitely one of my favourite stays so far and would return, especially in the summer. Tons of useful amenities. Entertainment for hours. Amazing for groups of family and friends. The bedding and sofas were very comfortable and there are tons of blankets if you need to be extra comfy. Restrooms and kitchen were clean and delightful. Spa was a great bonus. The outdoors seem to have a lot to offer, so we are definitely looking forward to that when there isn’t snow. We all really loved this trip and each person (12 people) want to return. We were unlucky and had ice/wet snow, so it was difficult to leave the driveway, I would just recommend to stay up the hill of the driveway and park on the side during times like this. Apart from that, the hosts were very responsive, helpful and kind, and this place is truly astounding. Highly highly recommend this chalet to anyone.

    Roberto2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Casey's place was beautiful. It is very large, the downstairs is tons of fun, the upstairs is wonderful, the couches are comfortable and the hot tub was great. Casey communicated very well and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this air bnb and host!

  • We enjoyed a couples getaway without the kiddos. Very cozy and clean. Great spot for entertaining! Had an issue with the lockbox at check-in (rookie mistake). Casey was quick to respond. Would recommend! :)

  • Very nice stay. The chalet is exceptional. The basement is something to dream about. Communication with Casey is effective and very attentive. We would return there without hesitation.

  • Enjoyed my stay very much

    Kevin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Michael’s cottage was pure heaven! We enjoyed having our morning coffees on the lovely patio furniture on the amazing back deck (great view!) and spent a lot of our time kayaking the beautiful Ottawa River. It’s close to town and had everything we needed for our stay.

    Ashlyn2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very clean. Beautiful scenery and great for people who like to fish. The cottage has everything I need. Micheal was a great host. He responds quickly.

    Cindy2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's cottage was fantastic. The place was very clean, spacious and had a wonderful deck with great views of the water. The mini-beach below the deck was perfect for launching the kayaks and rowboat provided, along with having nightly fires. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and I hope to book it again one day. Michael was always easy and quick to communicate with as well!

    Jay2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place was the perfect cottage for anyone trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city! It was quiet, peaceful and we were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the Ottawa river. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had a modern bathroom and kitchen. This place was great and I would recommend staying here.

    Madeline2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The road is rough, but I made it with a Prius which has very low clearance. Problem is rocks in the road. Big ones. You gotta go slow, like Michael says. By the 3rd day I was taking it like a pro.

    Scott2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • If there was a way to give this place six stars, I would! The location was fantastic – the lake was beautiful and quiet, and perfect for casual kayaking and enjoying a serene environment. The cottage itself was as good as advertised, if not better. It was very clean and even had a brand new BBQ. We also enjoyed a few of the board games that were stored in one of the drawers – we were actually surprised by the variety of games! Michael was a fantastic host and very responsive: for example we thought that the BBQ was out of gas (which turned out was false alarm!), but when we texted Michael, his dad came over in less than half an hour not only to solve the problem, but also to bring a bottle of wine! Overall, we had one of our best Airbnb experiences at Michael's cottage.

  • Lovely spot very close to Campbell's Bay. Beautiful marshy lake with a nice large dock for lying out in the sun. The cabin was very comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. Margaret and Karen were very gracious hosts. Would highly recommend if you're visiting this unique area.

  • This cabin made for the perfect summer vacation for my boyfriend, the puppy and I. The hosts were very quick to reply whenever I had questions and it was so lovely to meet them in person. The location was perfect for lounging around, relaxation, swimming and not doing much which is exactly what we were looking for. But had we decided to do something the location offered so many activities within a short drive. The cabin was sparkling clean with comfortable beds and everything we needed for the week.

    Michele2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We love, love, love this cottage and location! It’s about a 1.5-2 hr drive from Ottawa, but so worth it to escape! The cottage is lovely and comfortable and the covered patio and the gorgeous lake make for an amazing stay! The host provides 2 paddle boats and a canoe and a great fire-pit which we certainly took advantage of. The cottage was extremely clean and has all the basic amenities for your stay.

    Lydia2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing time at the Kozy Kabin! It was everything we could have hoped for. Extremely clean with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The area was very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view of the lake. The pellet stove was a cozy touch that we enjoyed warming up in front of after coming in from the skating rink we made on the lake. We took a drive to Mansfield to check out the area and stumbled upon the festival of lights at Parc Des Chutes Coulonge. Lit up with lights or not the waterfall was gorgeous so if you're in the area, check it out! The hosts were extremely nice and welcoming and overall we had such an amazing peaceful retreat! You will love it!

  • We have a wonderful stay at Donna's place over labour day weekend. A perfect place to get away - we loved our experience glamping in Campbell's Bay! Donna's place is as advertised, and we found it was even better in person than some of her her photos. The wifi can be slow, but cell service is no problem - we just took it as another excuse to disconnect a little more and jump in the river! We can't wait to return.

  • The cottage was amazing. It fit our family of three kids (2.5-12 years old) and three adults perfectly. Beds were super comfy - as were the comforters which were provided. Kitchen amenities were great and Having fans for the hot nights was awesome. Swimming, canoeing and being able to play with the old surfboard was awesome. Nights by the fires kept our family occupied. Hope to come back again!

  • My family and I had a wonderful night. Everything was as described and Philippe and his staff are very personable and approachable. The chalet was very clean and comfortable. Philippe took some additional time to ensure we had sufficient firewood for our evening campfire; one of the primary activities my children were anticipating. Location is fabulous and the quietness was wonderful. We hope to return to participate in one of the rafting tours next season.

  • The view is wonderful and the environment is peaceful. Donna and family are lovely. We highly recommend Donna’s place!

  • This great wee riverbank cabin is ideal for two couples travelling together - one side has the kitchen/sitting area, plus its own bedroom and bathroom, the other has a bedroom (with fridge, microwave, coffee make) and bathroom. The paddle boat was fun and Donna brought us paddle boards for us to splash around off the dock. We made great use of the fire pit and the beer pong game. It's an easy walk to La Jonction diner - 15 minutes stroll - great smoked meat sandwiches and burgers. We stocked up on beers and groceries at Kluke's in Campbell's Bay. The water is really shallow at the dock, but there's a swimming platform, too. We also drove the 8k to the beach in Bryson - lovely sand beach, backdropped by forest - and spent an afternoon there - and the 40 minutes over to rocky Whitewater Beach on the ON side. A great base for either relaxing or exploring this part of the Ottawa River Valley.

    Aefa2018-08-05T00:00:00Z

  • I’ve stayed in a few Airbnb’s in my time. Martin and Isabelle are quite simply the best hosts I’ve met. Their place is incredible and their hospitality is world class. We had a group of 19 people and every single person commented on this being our best cottage experience to date. From ice fishing to snow shoeing to sledding. We did it all and will be back next year.

    Theban2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This chalet is absolutely beautiful. Very clean, amazing views, lots of space for kids to play and explore. Hosts were incredible, checking in every day to see if we needed anything , very responsive and kind. We will definitely be coming back.

  • What an incredible stay we had! Spent our Christmas vacation here and everything was above and beyond, we will definitely be back! Thanks so much for everything!

    Natasha2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Martin and Isabelle's place is amazing, lots to do all year round. It was so spacious and the location is conveniently accessible from ottawa, montreal, and toronto.

  • We were here over Thanksgiving with 15 persons. What a wonderful cottage! Would come back any time

    Sven2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Martin's property was gorgeous. The home was sparkling clean, and Martin and his family were around to make our group feel right at home. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to experience it, but apparently his white water rafting trips are some of the best!

    Drew2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our group had the best time at Martin's place. From the booking, right to check-out, there were no hassles and no frustrations. The place itself was absolutely beautiful with great views and was very spacious + clean. We have never met people more open, supportive, and helpful than Martin and his family - from showing us the best places and things to do in the area, to taking us on great hikes/walks, and immediately being there when we needed them. The whole group felt right at home, with comfort and ease in being so far from home. All the amenities were up to par if not better than expected. Our time on the lake was filled with much fun, joy, and serenity. Our time at Martin's place truly gave us memories that we will forever cherish and friends like Martin and his family that we will always remember. I highly recommend Martin's place for any future trips you are planning, as it will not disappoint!

    Dhruvi2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Where do we start!! Amazing experience for our family - from the drive from Toronto, to the check-in, luxurious cottage with amazingly clean rooms, kitchen and deck. We went as a big group and was not sure if everyone would like - this is our first place where no one had any complains or reservations - the place is filled with exciting details, rustic and contemporary setup. Experience: Amazing group of campers close by, most visit and camp for doing the whitewater rafting (more on this later), and people from all over ontario and elsewhere. You get to meet people, say hi, and at the same time, you can have the privacy in your own cottage, deck and your own firepit below. It felt like everything we wanted was already included including the wood logs. Deck is beautiful, BBQ machines are super clean and powerful to make whatever you bring, kitchen is awesomely clean. We enjoyed the bbq's, deck, the trail walks and the firepit. We had the rafting crew come and join as for the dinner, they enjoyed our spicy curries (Sri Lankan Mutton curry) and shared their experiences with us. Martin and Isabelle were amazing and our kids got to play with their daughter as well. Both are very attentive and wants to make sure we have the best times to remember. Whitewater Rafting - the horizonx whitewater rafting is a MUST. The beautiful river accompanied by the very experienced and talented crews make this a most memorable, safe and yet adventurous trip for us to remember as a family. The challenges were great, photos were awesome for us to remember. Best experience ever - the small country side is blessed with a a LOT natural settings around the lake. So much so we need another trip to explore the nature side of things here. Don't hesitate to book or ask questions with Martin / Isabelle anytime. Jay S

The powered raft is great for swimming and fishing, with lots of fish caught, and the paddle board and kayak are in great shape. Had an awesome week and will be looking to come back in the future!

  • We loved this cottage, open concept with two nice bedrooms, beds and pillows were super comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the raft and swimming in the crystal clear lake. It is such a nice, peaceful location. A fantastic place to chill out and enjoy nature. We couldn't be any more thrilled with how the cottage was setup and all the amenities. We didn't want for anything except more time there, we can't wait to return one day.

    Katrina2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • I only have wonderful things to say about this property. The cottage was very clean, and well equipped (bbq, green egg, microwave, ceiling fans, all the comforts of home). Greg stock piled drinking water, toilet paper, pillows, wood, movies, etc. We really appreciated the use of the motorized raft (wonderful experience touring the lake, swimming and fishing from the raft), and the circular cedar hot tub. The cottage exceeded my expectations and was an extremely comfortable place to rest our heads after a day of rafting on the Ottawa River. Definitely two thumbs up :)
