Places to stay in Bruton

Places to stay in Bruton
Once part of the milk train that carried churns to Somerset dairies, Gabriel’s Wagon has been lovingly restored. It provides comfort, tranquility, fun and relaxation for a couple to stay amidst its rolling fields and heart-stopping views all the year around. This is as inviting in the depths of winter, as the summer: a suntrap when the sun shines, a magical look out when the rain and snow falls, relaxing by the cosy fire.
There is a big comfy bed and a beautifully crafted kitchen area with baby belling hob and oven, Belfast sink and little fridge. A sweet wood burning stove that lights like a dream keeps the wagon in constant warmth when needed, scenting the outside air with its gentle wood-smoke. Sink into the deep feather cushions of the old Ercol sofa and open the French windows to enjoy the view down to the little village church in the valley below. Undercover of the translucent arched roof, walk out onto the red cedar and larch decking. At one end an old pine door leads to the bathroom that invites you to relax! Enjoy the treat of a cast iron roll-top bath filled with hot running water and privacy to open the door wide if you fancy, to see the view as you let go of all life’s demands. Down the wooden steps is a fire pit and fire wok if you wish to cook outside and enjoy the spectacular lookout spot by day and night. Additionally Gabriel's Wagon offers: •Local ingredients for breakfast •Bamboo bed linen and luxurious Vispring mattress Travel cot available for a babe in arms •Woodburner with logs supplied •Covered verandah with place for muddy wellies & hooks for coats •Bruton town 3 miles away with restaurants, cafes and well stocked shops including The Organic Shop – organic co-operative •A special welcome for your dog with our own Pet Welcome Pack •Nearby off road parking
A famous footpath up Creech Hill to the site of a Romano-Celtic temple is just nearby with fields offering fossil finding and ancient woodland to explore. In Gabriel’s Wagon, walks are mapped out for you to enjoy to the local Saxon town of Bruton along drovers lanes to visit Houser & Wirth’s Somerset gallery. For foodies, this town is a delight, with Houser& Wirth’s Roths Bar, At the Chapel and Matts Kitchen to choose from. You can also walk to Cole Manor tea rooms, set on the gentle River Brue, or for a longer walk, make your way along the river at Spargrove, to sit beside the log fire in the 3 Horseshoes pub in Batcombe. A half hour car journey will bring your to the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip hills and in the opposite direction, Stourhead, with peaceful lake-side walks, and stunning gardens. In the summer, there is Glastonbury Festival, just 5 miles away, and the Bath & west showground offering a constant programme of interest from the Royal Bath & West agricultural show, to Antiques and Collectors shows and the famous Sunday Flea Market. (Please check dates) For a taste of Somerset town life, we are within easy reach of Glastonbury with its quaint shops and impressive Abbey ruins; Wells and its breathtakingly beautiful Cathedral and Frome’s Catherine Hill, fun to visit with quirky buzzy bohemian vintage shops, fantastic cafes and an Artisan Market every last Sunday of the month – all within 10 miles radius. For city life, the magnificent Georgian City of Bath is within 20 miles as is Bristol.
  • This is just the loveliest place to go and spend time, both inside the wagon, the surrounding countryside and following all the suggestions and recommendations in the whole area. We went without a car and got by just fine - a fantastic little holiday.

  • We had a lovely weekend at Happy on the Hill. I hope we can return soon.

  • We are sad to be back from such a memorable trip and stay at Gabriel’s wagon. Truly have nothing to fault - we especially loved the special touches that included homemade baked items and amazing jams, the drawn out map you are given to venture around the gorgeous area and all natural products available for you to use. Unfortunately we only had a chance to meet Neil - who very kindly greeted us late in the evening and helped us feel right at home, very happy to point us in the right direction of where we needed to go to suit our needs. The area was so lovely and we really enjoyed exploring the countryside which plenty of towns nearby to visit. If you have any doubts on whether to book the wagon, I urge you to do it as you simply won’t regret it :-)

  • We had a wonderful time at the cabin!

  • A beautiful tranquil place perfect getaway from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

  • Absolutely fantastic! My partner and I stayed for three nights just after New Year and it was the perfect way to start the year refreshed. The wagon has been beautifully converted inside and out, and has an abundance of amenities making it cosy, comfortable, and a delight to stay in. Susan and Neil had provided artisan bread and cake, milk, home made jam and marmalade and a wealth of other personal touches which really made the stay that little bit extra special - not to mention convenient if you haven't had a chance to go to the shop before arrival! Check-in was lovely as we just notified Susan of our arrival time when we were on our way and she provided instructions to self check-in. Given the cosy, remote-getaway style of the accomodation it was nice to feel self-contained in this manner. We returned from a muddy walk one day and popped over to see Susan & Neil who were in their garden, they were very friendly and a delight to talk to, offering us their warm outside tap to wash our dog down with! We enjoyed going for walks around the countryside right from the wagon's doorstep, then returning to relax by the wood burner - We felt this was a great piece of kit as it was heavy cast iron and ran slowly and steadily on a small amount of wood keeping the cabin warm at all times, even after going out for a meal or walk. Bruton is a 7 minute drive or 30 minute walk away and we enjoyed going for a tasting meal at the newly opened Osip restaurant, as well as take away pizzas from 'At the Chapel'. If you haven't been before it is a small, beautiful village, with pretty much everything you need situated along the small high street. If you are considering this place amongst any others, book this! We had high expectations but they were exceeded in every department, and on the first day we were already looking at summer dates to come back. Many thanks, James, Camilla & Monty

  • Gabriels Wagon is a very special place to stay. This was our second visit in one year. Happy on the hill is such a beautiful spot and honestly the best place to stay when visiting Bruton. Would very much recommend.

Jake’s Cabin is tucked away in one of the most magical secluded locations in Somerset. Waking to birdsong and with views of undulating hillside and meadows, it provides closeness to nature that melts away the strains of busy lives. Built from local cedar and larch and using only eco friendly and re-cycled materials, this beautifully crafted retreat can be found in a sunny clearing, and protected from the elements by the old oak and hazelnut trees that cast dappled light over its living roof.
Based on our much-loved Gabriel’s Wagon, Jake’s Cabin has more space and an internal door leading to the bathroom that hosts a warm yellow roll top bath with an external door for a bath with a view; It has a luxuriously comfy day-bed with a v sprung mattress and silky soft bamboo bed linen; floor to ceiling windows running along its length and sky lights, so that whether from the bath, bed or from the soft sinking cushions of the old Ercol sofa, you can enjoy the views, catch the sunlight and watch the stars.. Jake’s Cabin has running hot and cold water and electricity and is properly equipped with kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery, a baby belling hob and oven, Belfast sink and fridge. The wood-burning stove keeps the cabin in constant warmth, thanks also to its high spec draft proof insulation.

  • There’s so much to say about Happy on the Hill that I don’t know where to start. The views are stunning, the cabin is perfect and Neil and Susan are lovely, lovely people. We spent two wonderful nights in Jake’s Cabin, we switched our phones off, took winter walks with our dog Runa, sat by the log burner playing cards, read books, napped and had the best baths I’ve ever had. Book now, I promise you won’t regret it!! Susan and Neil have created a beautiful space with absolutely everything you could need and more during your stay, the only downside was we didn’t book for longer.

    Demelza2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I am not exaggerating when I say Jake's Cabin was perfect for a couple of stress free days to recharge, read and enjoy the countryside. The cabin is gorgeous and the view stunning. All little touches are very well considered, like rustic fresh bread and homemade jams. The log burner was a welcome reprieve from the horrible weather. The walks were brilliant, despite the mud. We really appreciated the local information provided especially route maps and archaeological reports about sites of interest. We will definitely be back.

    Erica2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Another fantastic stay at Jake's cabin! Its such a peaceful and calming environment and you leave feeling refreshed and happy ! The fresh bread and eggs make the perfect breakfast (the plum jam is my favourite!) Susan and Neil are the perfect hosts and we cant wait to come back!

    Stephanie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Happy on the hill didn't disappoint, had a lovely stay! The cabin was exactly as pictured and the location was great. Slight mishap with the hot water but Neil fixed this promptly and was a great host. Would stay again!

  • Just the most perfect, magical, cosy, gorgeous place to spend a weekend getting away from the city!

    Una2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful place to stay. It was so peaceful and with a great view over the hills. We managed to get around on foot and had amazing food and walks in Bruton and the local area. The cabin was really well equipped and had some lovely touches including eggs & marmalade from their farm and cake & bread from a local restaurant. Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing weekend! Thanks Susan and Neil.

The lovely restaurant at The Chapel is just a stone's throw away and the stylish Hauser &Wirth art gallery is a 15 minute stroll. A perfect place to stay and relax.

  • Lisa and Andy are such sweet and friendly hosts! The house is in such a good location to walk around the town, and the bathroom and kitchen has everything you need during a stay. I’d love to come back to bruton and stay at this place again:))

  • Lisa had thought of everything to make our stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible. There were many thoughtful touches including everything you need for breakfast (including delicious home made marmalade) as well as some treats! There is plenty of room to relax as well as a large selection of films and music to enjoy. Lisa gave us lots of helpful tips and advice about Bruton and the wider area. We would not hesitate to return and highly this property.

    David2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Andy are phenomenally good hosts. Completely respectful of personal space but brilliantly helpful and attentive. The house has everything you could possibly need down to the unexpected provision of food bits and bobs which we took full advantage of as it was all so lovely. Andy even went out of his way to provide non dairy milk and spread for us. The bed is super comfy, the bath is enormous and the books and DVDs are plentiful (including talented Andy's own writings!). The best thing about it though, really is the hosts. They are warm, funny, fascinating people and we can't wait to go back and see them again! Thanks both of you!

We live in a lovely quiet cul-de-sac just outside the town of Bruton, Somerset. Our pad (as we call it) is clean, light and airy with all the comforts of your own home. We have a very friendly well behaved dog who will also make you very welcome and two sleepy cats as they are showing their age. All guests will be made very welcome and accommodated to their needs. We have knowledge of the surrounding area for walking and touring the area - lots of lovely places within a short car journey.
‘Our pad’ is accessible to able people as the living accommodation is upstairs but once there you have full use of the facilities on offer to make you feel home from home.
The queen has recently visited our town, which you will find very quaint. There are two pubs in walking distant and we also have The Chapel which serves everything from coffee, pizza’s, bakery and lunch. We also have the Roth and bar grill and Matts kitchen which are both lovely places to eat using local quality produce. The town also has an array of art galleries, one on the high street and one just outside of town.
  • Good place, clean room, good people.

This is an elegant and cosy double room in my family home in the heart of Bruton. With the High Street just a minutes walk away it is perfectly located to enjoy the local restaurants, pubs, and boutiques that Bruton has to offer. Hauser & Wirth art gallery is a 10 minute walk away and it is a short drive to Stourhead house and gardens, Sparkford Hall, Bath & West Showground and Glastonbury. The room is perfect for single guests or couples.
My house is a modest Victorian town house which I have lovingly renovated over the last few years. It has a traditional feel with a contemporary twist and is a light and calming space to be in. The room is situated at the back of the house on the first floor, overlooking the garden. There is a standard double bed, with cotton bed linen and goose feather duvet and pillows. There is a small wardrobe, a chair, a mirror, shelves and a bedside table with drawers. The shared bathroom is on the same floor and is modern and compact with a rain shower and bath.
  • This was the second time I stayed at Julia’s home and I would definitely recommend staying here. A lovely room in a friendly home, it is great for exploring Bruton and the surrounding area!

    Chris2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous host. Julia was there to greet me, the room was cosy and spotless, the bed super-comfy and the room totally silent at night. She even offered tea and coffee and cereal for breakfast. A great AirBnB host. Thank you.

    Gillian2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a lovely stay. Julia's place is great, as Bruton is so compact and accessible - just a short walk to everything. The room was lovely and Julia is welcoming.

  • Really enjoyed my stay.

    Dee2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's place was just perfect, very easy going and hospitable and so well priced for the location. Just a stumble to the town and perhaps 10 min to Hauser and Wirth. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Bryony2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Julia’s great... Easy-going, open and ever-helpful (Julia was so ill when I stayed and yet couldn’t do enough...that’s a class host). Bruton is gloriously quaint and Julia’s sweet little pad is about 1 minute away. Super value for money...it ain’t king size but I’m 6’3 and snuck into an extremely comfortable bed.

    Paul2019-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Julia’s for a week while starting a new job in Bruton. As soon as I arrived Julia and her daughter were so welcoming and made me feel really at home. The room was light, clean and the bed was so comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!

    Becks2019-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house was in a great location and the room was clean, tidy and cosy. Julia was a great host, and made me feel welcome, she also posted me some items I had left in the room afterwards which was much appreciated! Would recommend. Thanks, Tim

Sleek wooden cabin named "The Wing", set in our garden in the Somerset countryside. One very comfortable bedroom with huge shower room furnished to a high standard by Phillips & Skinner. Enjoy a drink on your own terrace overlooking the rolling hills. Stroll into Bruton for breakfast.
The Wing is a totally separate space from our house. It has beautiful views overlooking the valley below. You can stroll into town for breakfast At The Chapel as we include a £20 voucher as part of your stay.
Bruton is a unique Somerset town with great Restaurants. Hauser & Wirth is a ten minute walk away.
  • Returned for a second stay, in the winter this time, just as nice, cosy, private, with a great view.

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Wing was everything we imagined- a beautiful bedroom with a fabulous view & the shower room was light & airy. Amelia was superb with corresponding & offering local information. So easy to walk to all the delicious eateries that Bruton has to offer... it felt very indulgent walking to The Chapel for breakfast & relaxing with newspapers. Lovely little extras - daffodils & biscuits❤️ Thankyou.

Quiet, tranquil and rustic, 3 Holt Cottages is a semi-detached Victorian farm-worker’s dwelling built in local brick and flint.
Your accomodation has a private entrance, off-road parking, large double bedroom, sitting room with woodburning stove, compact kitchen and bathroom. Breakfast cereal, fresh bread, butter, milk and homemade jam are supplied along with tea and coffee. Our house is old and rustic, we don't provide a 'boutique' hotel experience. Even though our walls are rough and notchy and there are areas where our paintwork is not perfect we hope you find it to be a cosy, welcoming and homely place. Please don't book to stay here if you're expecting a modern, sleek, super shiny experience!
We are 2 miles from Witham Friary village, it's a lovely bike ride to the pub (The Seymour Arms). Stourhead House and Garden, Bruton and Frome are a short drive away. Longleat, Wookey Hole, Bristol, Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Avebury are within easy reach for a day trip.
  • Seona's place looks and smell super homely the minute you enter it. The wood burner is fantastic and the views are great. Lots to do in the area too. You can't go wrong!

    Sophie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful tucked away, cosy find! Seona made us feel so welcome on a cold, windy afternoon. We had a warming log burner set, milk, butter and freshly made bread and electric blankets on our beds to take the chill away. The house is delightful with lots of well thought out things to do for my teenage children, including a Wii and Xbox, lots of dvds to watch, books to read and a piano to tinker on much to my son's delight! The bedding was really good quality and was clearly freshly laundered which made it even more delightful to climb into on a cold, windy night. We will most definitely be staying again and would highly recommend it. A welcoming, cosy, clean and great value for money stay, thank you Seona.

    Sarah2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say, We will be back! What a wonderful cosy, homely place. It was exactly what we needed for a couple of days rest and rejuvenation. Seona was a fantastic host, we arrived to electric blankets on the beds and a nice fire lit.

    Rachel2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Seona is a great host, there were thoughtful touches throughout our 4 day stay; milk, bread, eggs on arrival and offers to light the fire and fill the log basket. The location was great for Longleat and we also made easy trips to Wells and Chedder. The property is in a very peaceful location with the delight of owls Twit -Twooing at night! We are a family of 4 with and 3 month old and 4year old and really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend bringing a mattress for the cot, as it only comes with the thin mattress supplied by manufacturer.

    Emma2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • lovely place so many extra touches.. teas, coffees, eggs, bread, butter & jams! and seona came in each evening before we got back to light the fire for us :)

    Natalie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant host, great communication and very willing to help. Lovely place to stay.

    Ben2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Seona‘s cottage was so cosy and welcoming! The location is idyllic and so peaceful. We used it as a base for spending the evening at Stourhead to see the Christmas lights show. When we arrived Seona had lit the fire to warm the place up. There was fresh bread, eggs and milk which was very thoughtful! She also provided some tips on nearby places to eat. All in all a great, easy experience and would definitely stay again!

The beds in the room also provide an optional relaxed, sofa-like seating area for when guests might like to kick back and watch TV etc. WiFi is also available. There is a shower, wash basin and loo (with a lockable door) and we provide soap, towels, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer. Heating is provided by two electric radiators in the room that have a simple thermostat control system. Both the heating and the hot water will be turned on ahead of your arrival, seasonal variation permitting. We provide coat hangers, a small hanging rail and hooks plus there are large drawers under the bed for additional storage. We also provide an iron and small ironing board. We have a standard inventory in place that includes the books and other decorative items that you will find in the barn that are designed to enhance your stay. The shepherds hut is fully insulated and has electricity and a fridge. there is a canopy outside with seating and a table for taking in the view of Cogleys wood and the garden. Trains rumble by as the railway runs along side the garden about once an hour during the day. but its a curious quiet place for chilling out. The sofa converts to a double bed with large cushions hanging on the wall out of the way when you need the double bed and side tables with lights for reading makes it a true haven.
The Barn sits in a rural setting located one mile away from the charming Somerset town of Bruton. This makes it a short drive or easy walk (via the road or on a public footpath across the fields) from the Barn to the nearby town. Please see our House Notes in the Barn for comprehensive information about local pubs, walks, restaurants, cultural visits, health, hair and beauty, shops etc.
  • Sweet little place, perfect for a night away and close to Bruton. Susie was friendly and a good communicator and offered me answers to my questions. A very enjoyable stay.

    Gemma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot and Susie was really helpful. We were a little chaotic and she didn't mind that at all! One thing to note is if you click 'get directions' and select google maps it sends you to the wrong barn about an hour away. So make sure you type in the Bruton postcode...!

    Anselm2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Susie was incredibly generous with the pricing of our stay. We planned to stay in Bruton on the final leg of our challenge running from Wales to Poole and it was everything we needed. The barn is secluded away from the town if you require privacy and although we didn’t get to experience Bruton I’m sure it’s lovely. Thank you.

    Christopher2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Sheephouse is in a beautiful setting, nestled in the rolling Somerset countryside. It’s the perfect t destination for a quiet, cosy getaway. We stayed in the winter, but I imagine drinks on the terrace and staying in the shepherd’s hut in the summer would be lovely. Great Airbnb with lovely decor and luxury touches.

    Rebecca2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay - it was very warm and cosy inside the barn and it is very stylish. The Shepherd's Hut was also warm. The barn is situated in beautiful countryside. Susie is very warm, friendly and welcoming. I recommend this as a super place to stay - we wish we could have stayed for longer!

    Liz2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The barn and shepherd's hut were both completely gorgeous! Ideal location just outside of Bruton. It was lovely and cosy all night , even in the shepherd's hut! Susie was a lovely friendly host and kindly let us take home some apples from the orchard too. :)

  • Wonderful stay! Beautiful location and really cool place. Thanks!

The cottage (a former apple store) is in the heart of Bruton. It overlooks our secret garden and beyond that the church and dovecote. The open plan interior has a bedroom upstairs and a living room, kitchenette and bathroom/wet-room downstairs.
  • The loveliest place. Everything you could possibly need, from the yummiest homemade muffins to an extra toothbrush! Jocelyn makes you feel so relaxed and ‘at home’. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a lovely early morning surprise too haha. Definitely stay here if you are looking for a place to stay in Bruton! It has the best location. Thank you for everything Jocelyn, I will be back. xx

    Megan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jocelyn’s cottage is wonderful. Very cosy. Lots of lovely touches and nice breakfast options. Jocelyn herself is a lovely warm and friendly host. I felt really at home. I would definitely recommend.

  • Jocelyn was a very accommodating host and the Applestore is a a great find in the heart of Bruton.

    Freyja2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quirky, characterful guest house right in the middle of Bruton. The location is perfect and when you go through the gate into the property you feel like you are in a storybook. You have the entire place to yourself and own access via a private gate. This is a whimsical property run by a very friendly lady who has filled it with character. I had a great night's sleep and would recommend this to a guest who wants a stay with personality rather than a "hotel room" experience.

    John2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant spot for a short Bruton stay

    Sophia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jocelyn's place is a total gem - nestled down a quiet private street right in the heart of Bruton. It's a little haven! Extra touches like tasty treats and breakfast bits, as well as lots of local friendly knowledge from Jocelyn made it the perfect little stay. Plus it was doggy friendly! We wish we could stay for longer!

    Hannah2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much - very nice space and great location. Some lovely thoughtful touches made it all the nicer.

    Ross2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a cosy time staying 1 night in this quaint and quirky little place. Lots of homely and welcoming touches provided and Jocelyn is a lovely and friendly hostess. Warm and cosy even in soggy February and ideal spot for exploring historic, sophisticated Bruton and The Newt a few miles away.

My place is a small but cosy and convenient bungalow in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood on the edge of town. My place is close to the town centre, art and culture, shops, restaurants and dining, the train station, the river Brue and great views.
My neighbourhood is very peaceful and quiet. Only a few minutes walk to the train station and town centre and with lovely views of the countryside.
  • Carola's place is small but full of colour. Unfortunately she couldn't be there at the last minute for the one night I had booked, but she generously allowed me to stay anyway, and thoughtfully provided breakfast. Thank you Carola!

This listing is for our smaller bedroom which sleeps two people. It is a recently renovated space with new ensuite shower room. This room has its own front door and is adjacent to our historic family home, in the beautiful village of Croscombe between Wells and Shepton Mallet. This room shares our conservatory as a sitting area. Please see the layout plan in the photos.
Our home is a 15C farmhouse in the village of Croscombe. We have cats, bees, sheep, chickens, turkeys, geese and ducks and sell our produce locally. Guests are welcome to buy our seasonal produce including cider, jams, marmalade, chutneys, cordials, beeswax polish, wool and free-range eggs.
We're in a quiet English village with a beautiful church, pub and village shop. Nearby are the destination towns of Wells, Frome, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet. The village of Croscombe is worth a visit in its own right; nestled in the Sheppey Valley it was founded in around 700AD it has a historic church with carved box pews and spectacular spire, several old mill buildings and walks with spectacular views over the village. We have a leaflet of a suggested walk around the village which takes in the majority of the notable buildings and are happy to advise those who would like to go for longer walks on good routes to take.
  • Very comfortable bed, warm and clean bedroom and shower room. Lovely location and very good value for money. Nicola is friendly and an excellent communicator. I will highly recommend.

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • Susanna's place is gorgeous - we cannot recommend it highly enough. The room is very private, with a separate entrance and ensuite bathroom. It was the first time we've stayed in a private room and it has converted us from exclusively "entire place" Airbnbers. The bed was extremely comfortable and made up with beautiful bed linen. Susanna included so many thoughtful touches, which really made the stay feel special. The house is within easy reach of Castle Cary and Bruton and it's a beautiful part of the countryside for a walk. Could not fault it!

    Isabella2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the weekend at Susanna’s place for a quiet break from London life and I feel totally relaxed after such a nice time. Susanna’s home is truly beautiful and her well-meaning hospitality made it feel so special. It is really easy to get around to all the must-see spots in Bruton like Hauser + Wirth and The Newt, she gave me some excellent tips that made the weekend just a little more full too. Really sad being back home now, I could have moved in!

    Amy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying here. The location is incredible, tucked away in an idyllic hamlet just a few minutes away from Bruton or Castle Cary. The whole property is gorgeous, incredible gardens and beautiful architecture. The bed is one of the comfiest we've ever stayed in! Susanna is a brilliant host and made us feel really welcome, she even laid out an amazing breakfast in her amazing kitchen. We drank tea, coffee and juice and ate croissants, fruit, toast and cereal, it was one of the best experiences on Airbnb we've ever had. Can't wait to visit again! The annex is very private, secluded, luxurious and tastefully decorated.

  • Every now and then you come across a real jewel on Air BnB - this place is one of them. A private annexe room with an ensuite bathroom with a lovely shower space. Everything is so stylish - part of a beautiful house with a rolling garden. A stone's throw from Bruton. Susanna was great with her communication. Highly recommended luxury!!

    Sam2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The annexe was idyllic providing a super comfy bed, powerful shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Susanna was a lovely host.

    Andrew2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely lovely spot, in a fantastic location that feels calm and secluded and yet is minutes away from all sorts of nice and fun things to do. Susanna is a great hostess too.

    Tristan2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Susanna's place is fantastic. It's stylish and wonderfully comfortable and we particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches i.e. the cool water in the fridge and the yummy biscuits and plentiful supply of tea/coffee and the decent sized mugs , glasses and cafetiere--not always a given! Susanna is very warm and welcoming.

    Chris2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Susanna’s place is such a treat! The perfect spot for a weekend break away! You have your own private outside table and the area is beautiful for exploration. Room has everything you need for a short stay! Lovely hospitality from Susanna. Cant wait to return

  • My partner & I enjoyed our first stay at Gert Lushing & exploring the local area so much we returned for a second time to celebrate my partners birthday & again we had a lovely, peaceful & private few days at the hut. Charlotte was fantastic, kindly arranging flowers & a card for my partners birthday to be in the hut to surprise him on our arrival & leaving us extra blankets, heater & hot water bottles to keep us extra warm at night! We were there mid December on the last weekend before they close for the winter & were impressed by how warm the 2 heaters kept the hut, we were nice & toasty throughout our stay. Charlotte was always there on the end of the phone if we needed anything but gave us lots of privacy & space to relax & enjoy our time together. Great space, great host, great time, thank you!

  • We loved this cozy cabin! It had everything that we needed. We were worried about being cold during November however were pleasantly surprised by the 2 heaters which made it very warm and toasty. Charlotte was a great host and provided quick replies. All in all a great stay and we will definitely be coming back sometime!

    Sarah2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, great views of the field and farm and a really cosy cabin! There was everything we could possibly need to cook and prepare food, managing to make fajitas, hot sandwiches, jacket potatoes and even bake some cookies! The cabin was amazingly clean and cosy, and the choice of two heaters to use to warm the room up were much needed when it got chilly! It felt especially comfy when laying in bed listening to the rain on the roof (there was lots of it!). Thanks again Charlotte, we hope to see you soon.

Beautifully restored self contained barn suitable for couples or families with young children.
This large barn has been stylishly converted to a beautiful studio apartment. There is a king size bed and a double sofa bed for smaller children to share. A perfectly designed kitchenette offers two hobs, a fridge, microwave and sink, allowing for meals to be prepared. Underfloor heating will keep you snug and warm through those cooler months. The bathroom has a shower and is wonderfully light. Step into your own, private and secluded patio for a sundowner or take a meal. Our restaurant is just next door where you can have breakfast. Our cafe uses produce grown from our own gardens and we source ingredients locally as much as possible. Bruton Town High Street is a 5 minute walk through our woods with restaurants, cafes and well stocked shops. Parking is free and ample in our own car park, close to accommodation. You will have you own dedicated parking area.
Bruton has plenty to offer - art, architecture, food, culture. An ancient former market town, Bruton is a well known educational and arts centre with a bustling and friendly community. Internationally renowned Hauser & Wirth gallery hold regular exhibitions of world famous artists, and their gardens by Piet Oudolf is worth seeing. A visit to the Dovecote, Bruton Art Factory, and taking a stroll along the Brue River are some of the many activities avaiable in town.
  • A real beautiful spot in the heartlands of Bruton. Surrounded by rolling fields and bleating sheep. Really recommend the breakfasts. Pat and Sophie are amazing hosts, felt very welcome. Thanks again guys. Great value for money...

    Luke2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, serene, comfortable, cosy and healing space. Close to town but far enough away to feel like a true farmyard lifestyle

    Joss2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Pat and Sophie’s place is in a great rural location, a quiet and peaceful retreat, yet just a pleasant ten minute walk through the woods into Bruton. Sophie's recommendations for local gardens to visit were much appreciated as were her tips on places to eat. A wonderful breakfast in the restaurant next door was an added bonus and made for an easy leisurely start to the day. We would definitely revisit in the future.

    Alan2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely studio with everything that you'd need for your stay and a perfect base for exploring the local area. Pat and Sophie were really helpful with sharing their local knowledge and tips too!

    Natalie2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We booked to stay at Coombe Farm over the Easter Holiday weekend hoping for a country escape that would enable us to relax and unwind for a few days and we were definitely not disappointed. Sophie and Pat were so welcoming and friendly and did all they could to make our stay easy and enjoyable. The location was perfect, only a short woodland walk to the nearby small town of Bruton yet just far enough away to enable us to feel that we were in the middle of the countryside. The nights were perfectly quiet (with the exception of the odd owl hoot here and there) and the evenings were full of the sounds of pheasants and sheep and the babbling stream that runs through the farm. Ash Barn itself is a beautifully appointed, clean, spacious, light and airy building with a contemporary feel and was perfect for the two of us. It was comfortable and cosy and finished to a very high standard. WiFi and broadband speed was excellent, which still seems to be a rarity for farm locations. There is a little kitchen area which was ideal for cooking on the occasion that we didn‘t walk into Bruton for a meal. Breakfast, cooked to order in the charming restaurant on the farm, was incredible and was the perfect start to the day. Sophie‘s poached egg on toast with corn and celeriac sauce was delicious and with the added mushrooms, beans and morcilla black pudding this breakfast really needs to be tried to be believed. We told Sophie that she might just have ruined all future breakfasts for us at other restaurants! Thank you Sophie and Pat for a lovely weekend stay, we will be back!

    Andrew2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in the barn - it's the most beautiful location, just a short stroll from Bruton and surrounded by idillic Somerset countryside. The menu at the cafe is so well considered and I can vouch that breakfast, lunch and the Friday night Malaysian are all absolutely delicious. The barn itself is gorgeous, the perfect mix of high-spec, cozy and rustic, with lots of really lovely touches. Sophie was so welcoming and accommodating - we were offered lifts from the station, given lots of local tips and even a few slices of homemade cake. It was all very dreamy. I would highly recommend a stay at the barn - I'd say this was my favourite Airbnb experience so far.

  • I recommend this unusually beautiful setting On The Brook, you will be amazed. And the accommodation is a delight, good light, and views. It's a short walk into Bruton on a footpath, friendly helpful people, great breakfast. Footpaths all around. I have only good things to say.

This ancient Somerset cottage with contemporary decor is a peaceful hideaway down a quiet back street in Bruton, yet only a 5 minute walk to At The Chapel and the High Street with a mix independent shops, pubs, a great butcher and a bakery. A high spec interior with antique furniture, wood burning stove, ancient flagstones downstairs and wooden floors upstairs, High Speed Wifi and well stocked kitchen. A spacious, comfortable, peaceful cottage in Somerset, ideal for couples & families.
The cottage entrance hall opens into downstairs double bedroom with a king size bed, flagstone floors, sheepskins, an arm chair, a dresser and blackout curtains. This leads through to a second single bedroom containing a trundle bed (a single bed that has another pull out bed underneath) that can either be used as a single/twin bedroom, or as a dressing room if not used for sleeping - it also contains a clothes hanger and a chest of drawers). Due to needing to walk through the double bedroom to reach this room, it is really only suitable for children. Also downstairs is a monochrome bathroom with a clawfoot tub with overhead shower and freshly laundered white fluffy towels and organic soaps and bath products. Stairs up to first floor open out into a large sitting room with whitewashed floors, anglepoise lamps, sheepskins and a wood burning fire. This also opens out to a conservatory with double doors leading out to a sunny balcony, the perfect spot for a gin & tonic. Through the sitting room is a double height aspect diner and well-equipped kitchen with Le Creuset casserole dishes and a curated selection of cookbooks. The kitchen is stocked with basics – tea & coffee etc. Subject to request, a breakfast box can be ordered at extra cost to be left in the kitchen. There is always ice in the freezer and also an honesty bar for wine. There is an internet TV, an internet radio and high speed Wifi. Another set of stairs leads up to a mezzanine level above the kitchen/diner with twin beds and views across the rooftops to the Dovecote above the town. The mezzanine level not have a door (it does have a curtain for privacy and to ensure it is dark for sleeping) and just contains 2 single beds so again, is more suited as an extra sleeping space for children. The cottage can sleep 6 if all the beds are used, but we think it is better suited to 4/5 (i.e. 2 adults & 2/3 kids) and due to the nature of the layout is best suited to families or couples.
Bruton is fantastic place to visit for a short break or holiday and Ropewalk Cottage is walking distance to everything in town, yet there are lovely country walks from the doorstep . World renowned art Gallery Hauser & Wirth is on the edge of town with the Roth Bar & Grill, popular restaurant At The Chapel is a few minutes walk away. It's a friendly community with a thriving high street, 2 pubs, independent shops and always lots going on - you can buy most things you need in town. Close to Glastonbury, Frome and the Somerset Levels, and on the train line to Bath, it's a great base for exploring beautiful Somerset and visiting all the events and festivals. The cottage comes with a guide with lots of information about things to do, places to go and walk routes.
  • Perfectly located in the Bruton, all the good restaurants are within walking distance. This gorgeous house retains many of its original features which adds charm to the modern kitchen and bathroom. Joanna left some delicious treats which were hugely welcomed as we arrived late. Sheets and towels and great - new and clean. I would highly recommend this house and will hopefully return to this fabulous part of the world.

  • Beautiful cottage with a perfect location and amazing stylish touches throughout. Joanna was a super host providing great welcome treats and excellent communication both before and during our stay.

  • Spacious but still very cosy house that has been stylishly converted, keeping some quirky and characterful details. A really generous welcome pack of supplies, very clean, and lovely bed linen and towels that felt luxurious. And all the glossy books you’d like to buy but can’t quite justify it! The village has some good places to eat and reasonable shops but the kitchen is also really well equipped. A lovely area with nice walks straight from the village. We had a peaceful and relaxing stay. Recommended

  • Amazing place, highly recommended and wish we could have stayed longer! The photos don’t do it justice, it’s huge, beautiful and in a fabulous spot!!!

  • Great location and space to relax between visits to Hauser & Wirth and walks in the countryside. Thank you for all your notes. Taxi rides were the only difficulty we encountered. We ended up having to walk in rain to the train station after calling 6 drivers. Guess we should have booked ahead of time. Thank you for all your thoughtfulness.

Everything you need is on hand and there is beautiful countryside all around you which you can walk to or if you want to drive you can but you don’t need to.

It had everything we needed, felt secluded enough but was also very easy to reach local amenities and things to e.g. nearby Bruton. Clean, comfortable and actually quite spacious within we really enjoyed the time we spent here. Doey made check in very easy, and gave us a breakfast basket which was great. Would thoroughly recommend staying here!

When it rained we lit the fire and stayed in, when it was clear we walked to the local pubs and around the fields. The hosts Simon and Doey were really friendly but not intrusive at all. Made us feel very at home instantly. Would 100% recommend.

A private flat with a master bedroom, king size bed, a second bedroom with 2 single beds; a lounge with fridge/freezer and microwave and large bathroom. The flat is on the second floor of a lovely Edwardian townhouse located in the historic town of Bruton. I live on the first and ground floors of the house so always available to help. Shops, pubs, restaurants, the railway station, Kings School and the Hauser and Wirth gallery are all with a few minutes walk.
The flat has it own lockable door on the first floor with a staircase leading up to the 2 bedrooms, lounge and bathroom. There are beautiful view of the dovecote and countryside from the master bedroom and lounge. There are tea and coffee making facilities and muesli, cereal and bread provided for a do it yourself breakfast. but there are plenty of restaurants 2 minutes away that serve full English breakfast.
Bruton has a very friendly community with a population around 3000 people. A few doors away from my house is a great restaurant called the Chapel where you can get delicious pizzas and good coffee. Across the road from the house is the Bruton Castle pub where you can get drinks and snacks most days of the week. Across the road, a few doors down, is a lovely little place called Matt's Kitchen where you can get delicious food. A few yards down the high street is the Sun public house which offers English and Persian cuisine. The Hauser and Wirth gallery is a 10 minute walk away.
  • Such a cute place in the center of town! Carla is very communicative and quick to respond to any messages. Place was clean, beds were comfortable, and even had a bit of breakfast available for us.

  • Bruton is an amazingly delightful old village that I had not even known was there. Carla’s place is really cool with a fantastic view from the main bedroom. The huge comfortable bed was a highlight. Carla was a very thoughtful host and even left us breakfast supplies in the fridge. The stairs are quite steep so I wouldn’t take a big case upstairs. We just put what we needed in our overnight bags and left the big cases in the car. There is no washing machine in the apartment but other than that it has everything you could want. We didn’t do washing while there so possibly Carla would have been able to advise if we had asked. The apartment was charming and very well set up.

    Alison2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carla’s place was perfect for a small group of us that were going to a wedding in the village. There’s lovely views from the windows, which is a real added bonus. Incredibly peaceful surroundings and great value, especially with thoughtful touches like bread, butter, milk and tea/coffee. Would really recommended. Exceptional value.

  • Lovely place. Very much enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.

    Christine2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Such a relaxing break in Bruton. The house and own space via your own 'front' door within the property is lovely. Had the best nights sleep than I have had for months; wanted to bring the bed home with us!! The kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs as we didn't want to 'eat in'; most importantly everything was really clean, plates, utensils, cups etc. Great views from the rear bedroom. Carla was there to greet us upon arrival and show us the accommodation and made recommendations regarding where to eat locally. We did go to At the Chapel for a breakfast and went to The Sun pub for evening meals where we were welcomed; the Chef was particularly helpful. We also hopped on a train and went to Bath and Bradford Upon Avon. Well worth a visit.

    Nicki2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carla was very pleasant to deal with and the cosy apartment is on the top floor of the house in the centre of Burton the bedrooms and bathrooms are of a generous size and Carla recommended a nearby free parking spot.

A compact hideaway with its own entrance, bright and sunny with a comfortable double bed and en suite shower room, its the perfect place for a tranquil break yet is on the doorstep of cultural Bruton with its internationally renowned pioneering art gallery Hauser and Wirth.
The Blue Wooden House is the old washing annex. It has a private entrance through our garden so you can come and go as you please. Muesli and local fresh bread from Lovingtons Bakery are supplied for making your own breakfast; home made jams and marmalade are also supplied along with tea and fresh coffee. Breakfast in the garden while watching the many song birds is a treat. Linen sheets and white towels add to the cosy retro feel of this wooden hideaway.
Places of interest just down the road: pioneering world class art gallery Hauser and Wirth; the Stourhead Estate (National Trust) with its many beautiful walks 'in Arcadian splendour'; Bruton town with its local shops and At the Chapel cafe bar and pizza restaurant; The Bull, our local pub serving excellent food is 5 minutes walk away.
  • A peaceful place to stay, a local pub nearby with nice food served. Host was very pleasant and friendly. Phone signal was not brilliant so ideal if you want to switch off and wind down for a day or two. Lots to do in the area and very scenic. Recommended

Great to have a small fridge with muesli and milk, delicious bread, butter and a fabulous marmalade supplied. Lovely Modern bathroom. Comfy double bed. A taxi ride into Bruton cost £12 each way.

21 Bruton is a perfect place to stay for a group or family visiting Bruton. The apartment is spacious and comfortable sleeping 6 + cot. The property front is on the high street with garden and parking at the rear. Shops, restaurants and pubs are nearby. It is very convenient for the Hauser & Wirth gallery, Stourhead House and gardens, the Bath & West Showground, Glastonbury, Kilver Court designer shopping and Wincanton racecourse. Bath 30 mins. Nearest train station is Castle Cary, 10 mins.
21 Bruton is the upper part (maisonette) of a Georgian terraced building. It is on the high street above a shop. The flat is extremely comfortable and spacious with a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The sitting room is double width and has sofas and arm chairs to accommodate 6 people, it faces south and overlooks the street. The kitchen has all essential appliances and is fully stocked for dining and basic cooking. Bedrooms 1 and 2 have king size beds that can split into two 32" width singles. Both rooms are generous spaces, they on the street side and share the shower room on the lower floor. Bedroom 3 is an oak framed room, has a super-king bed with an en-suite bathroom and dressing room, this is the quietest room and the largest. All beds are zip & link but only the two king size beds split into singles, not the super king. Cot available.
Moderately busy high street during the day but quiet at night, pubs and restaurants close at 11pm.
  • We had a wonderful stay, couldn’t fault anything. The apartment is much larger than the pictures, such a wonderful clean space and it had everything and more that we could have needed. Would high recommend if you need a place to stay in Bruton.

  • Mary's house on Bruton High Street is the perfect spot to discover the town and enjoy the local amenities, such as At The Chapel directly opposite (perfect for freshly baked croissants and bread for breakfast!). The house is very comfortable and beautiful. We stayed in January so really appreciated the fire in the living room. The kitchen is very well equipped with a lovely dining table and outlook to the garden, which must be lovely in the summer. Beds are comfortable and everything is provided, we'll be back to visit!

  • 21 Bruton is a very special place to stay, even better than the photos suggest. We had four wonderful days at Mary’s house and enjoyed every minute. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and decorated, very comfortable beds, lots of space for a family or group and a lovely garden at the back. So many thoughtful touches. Mary has been a most welcoming host throughout, from the clear and helpful communications before our stay, to the fresh food essentials and flowers awaiting us on our arrival. We really didn’t want to leave and hope that we might return some day. Thank you so much Mary!

Double room. In rural country cottage. Over looking the McMillan way. Walkers paradise. Only five minute drive from 303. Easy reach many national trust properties. The coast. And Cadbury castle. Peaceful location. Lovely room in typical country cottage. Own bathroom with shower. Horse riding available upon request. We have two dogs and a cat. And due to the rural setting also the odd spider and cobweb here and there . Though I will try and evict them from your room before you arrive.
Cosy double bedroom. Wooden floors. Country side views. Nice private bathroom.
Set in quiet rural Somerset over looking the McMillan way . Ideal for walking. Sightseeing. And the historic towns of sherbourne. Bath and wells.
  • Nicky and her father John are warm and welcoming hosts. Their home is by the countryside, very quiet when we arrived. Parking is secure and on site, a few seconds walk away from the house. The bedroom is clean with ample storage space. Good internet connection throughout. The double bed is of a soft to medium firmness. Bedding is clean and fresh. Hot and cold beverages can be accessed via the kitchen. We had access to our own bathroom which was next door. Very clean. A light continental breakfast is provided for guests by John. We were unable to have any as we had to make a dash for work. There is a working farm nearby, so farm vehicles can be heard in the morning which is normal for the countryside. The gardens are beautiful - a great sight first thing in the morning. John and Nicky share their home with 2 dogs, one which can be over-excited but calms down very quickly when familiar with the guests. The cat is very quiet. A local shop and pubs are not far. Queen Camel is in close proximity of Yeovil. Nicky and John provide great information regarding local activities. Nicky also provides horse riding experience, please refer to listing for further details. We really enjoyed meeting our hosts and are grateful for their genuine warmth. Thank you for looking after us. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Xx

Would highly recommend. Worth every penny. I stayed here with my family before my wedding day, and the accommodation fitted my needs perfectly - plenty of room to get into my big dress!! 5 stars all round!

  • This is a cosy and very comfortable cottage. It's very clean and modern furnished. We stayed here for 2 weeks and enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful garden, watching the horses, and spending time in the surrounding countryside. The ideas for trips given by our superhost Rachel were really nice, e.g. Durdle door, gardens of the Newt and Stourhead etc. Worthwhile daytrips are also Salisbury, Stonehenge, Wells, Bath and Highclere castle.

    Götz2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay here. Host was really helpful from the moment we arrived. Would absolutely stay here again if we were in the area!

  • This was a really lovely and comfortable place to stay. The accommodation was immaculately clean, it was beautifully furnished and the beds were comfortable. Everything was done to a high standard. It was lovely to relax on the balcony watching the horses and the swallows in the orchard. It was well situated for lots of great places to visit and Bruton itself was pretty. The hosts were friendly and helpful. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and are hoping to return after such an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.

  • This is an amazingly good value accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of busy cities and towns. We (Family of 5 all aged 18+) used it as a base to visit local attractions such as Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and Wells. The house has all mod cons, towels and bed linen are provided and of the best quality. The house is not very old and has amazing views across the countryside. Bruton is about a mile away (so a short drive - or reasonable walk) and has restaurants and shops for your food and drink needs. Rachel was very welcoming and lives on site if you need anything. I would recommend this place no question.

    Jon2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was really clean and exactly as described. Rachel was super helpful adding travel cots and high chair for us. Amazing location close to Bruton and stunning walks on our doorstep! Thank you

    Caroline2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was a great host. The amenities were perfect for our Christmas stay, we had everything we needed for Xmas dinner and the whole kitchen was easy to work. The space is so much bigger than it looks in the pictures! Beautiful house and a beautiful location, waking up to fields with horses was so lovely. As we were staying over Christmas it was an absolute bonus that we were greeted with a Christmas tree and some beautiful outdoor decorations. Comfy beds, lovely decor, ideal amenities; we couldn't have asked for more! It felt like a second home! Thank you!

Large, tastefully decorated en-suite room with king size bed/quality bed linen. Self contained with TV, desk space and sofa. To allow for your privacy we provide basic breakfast items for your stay without disturbing you each morning. The picturesque centre of Castle Cary is a few minutes walk away. Ideal for a couple, but the sofa bed could accommodate a child, please enquire and see space details. Please DO NOT Instant Book if attending Bath Showground / Glastonbury events, see space details.
This luxury room which is newly decorated forms part of our house but is self contained with its own entrance. Just a few minutes walk from the delightful town centre. Visit the historic market house, the thriving Tuesday local market or the vintage market run once a month. You are near to Bruton where the Hauser and Wirth gallery is found, together with noted restaurants, and nearby is the newly opened visitor attraction - 'The Newt'. A little further afield you are spoilt for choice of National Trust properties as well as Glastonbury, Wells, Bath, Street for Clark’s shopping village, and Shepton Mallet for the Kilver Court designer village and garden, or a visit to the notable prison. IMPORTANT NOTE: While we are not far from Bath Showground and Glastonbury we do not take bookings for late / overnight events. This is due to the fact that we are not aware of any local taxi services that are available for such events and it is about a 5 mile walk from the Showground down busy country roads with no pavement. We appreciate that bus services are sometimes shown as offered to and from the station but these never seem to run to suit the time people want to return. Having brought up our own children we no longer wish to have the worry of young adults not getting back, or having to act as a taxi service for people at such events. No cleaning charges applied. Tea / coffee / basic breakfast items provided Coffee machine Mini fridge We have a no smoking policy We request that guests remove shoes when entering. £10 additional charge per night for child using sofa bed (enquire first please using ‘contact host’ no instant booking for this).
All around the area is beautiful countryside. Opposite the property is an open area for walking with some exercise equipment if feeling energetic. Beside the property is the sports field which you wander across on the path to get into town. There are places to eat in town, as well as takeaways, and some excellent pubs and restaurants not too far distant including renowned restaurants in Bruton.
  • Clean, homely and very comfortable. We stayed with our 1 year old and she had a terrific nights sleep! As did we! Very peaceful and definitely recommended. Thanks!

They are knowledgeable about the local area and eager to be of assistance. The room was nicely furnished with ensuite facilities. Internet radio, Wifi and TV are also available. The room also has tea and coffee making facilities and even a decanter of sherry! David was kind enough to allow access to his impressive collection of books while Caroline has a great selection of teas to sample. All in all, a lovely stay with a lovely couple.
