  • Really lovely stay, we ended up staying during a storm warning, but had a great time curled by the range. Perfect spot for a quiet weekend. Hosts were very thoughtful. Space was beautiful.

  • Beautiful converted stables, with the most charming and helpful host. We would love to come here again.

  • This has been my favourite Air B&B place so far for a solo trip. Paul and Joan were lovely, and I had plenty of space and solitude for myself. Very comfortable space indeed. You definitely need a car here though!

    Abby2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Even with the amazing pictures, they still don’t do this place justice until you see it in person. After staying in a run down apartment in Dublin, the Stables were a HUGE improvement for us and we were stunned at the amount of work Paul and Joan put into this place. It is secluded, but not far away from town at all. We took a lovely baking class in Galway (only about 40 min from here) and spent some time in the nearby town of Ennis. The hosts were incredibly responsive, and we had the immense pleasure of meeting Paul as he came to light the fire for us on multiple occasions. Their surrounding property is stunning, which includes some surprise visitors, like their two gorgeous horses, and Pushkin, the sweetest cat in all of Ireland. We miss the Stables so much already and would highly recommend it to anyone hoping to visit County Clare and the surrounding area! You won’t regret it!

  • This place is wonderful! Gorgeous restoration, incredible cozy, well stocked with coffee, eggs etc. Great recommendations for things to see and great location for exploring. We didn’t want to leave! We were inspired by the design and layout, and the energy of the place was warm and welcoming. Paul was very helpful in our planning and had good tips on places to eat and visit! Lovely peaceful countryside and two very friendly horses out back. We arrived home to a fire each evening and lights turned on. It made us feel very taken care of so far from home! We would certainly return here on our next trip to Ireland!

  • This place is truly magical and cannot recommend both the place and Paul & Joan as hosts. We arrived late in the evening after driving from Dublin and Joan had been very responsive/helpful during our drive over. Joan had already started a fire before we arrived along with complimentary fresh eggs, milk and jam for us to make breakfast in the morning! The Kiltanon House is in an absolutely beautiful part of the country. We stayed in the horse carriage room and it was so rustic chic and cool we couldn’t stop gushing about how awesome the place was. The location was also quiet, secluded and exactly what my wife and I were looking for on our honeymoon! We also became best friends with their cat, Pushkins, who came around for cuddles and my wife fell in love with her. The next day we drove out to Cliffs of Moher for the day and Paul recommended a phenomenal seafood restaurant called Monks for dinner. His recommendation was awesome and had the best seafood chowder ever. When we returned we had a quick panic because we had locked ourselves out but Paul was very quick fo respond and help us even though it was after dark. Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience and cannot recommend enough! Thank you again Joan and Paul. You’re place is something we’ll talk about for years to come as part of our honeymoon.

  • The Stable is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to explore the West of Ireland. The cottage is full of charm and warmth. The space is a very cosy environment to avoid some Irish weather, and if you're lucky the local cat will swing by to say hi. There's also a very charming woodburning stove in the house that you can lose hours lounging in front of. I'd recommend the Stable to anyone looking for a basecamp to retreat to while exploring the Burren or Cliffs of Moher. Alternatively if you're in the market for a quiet weekend away from it all, this is the ideal spot.

  • We wanted an authentic Irish experience. Paul and Joan’s place cannot be any more authentic. It’s serene and beautiful Irish country setting was breathtaking. The cottage was immaculate and warm. When we arrived, the fire had been stoked. Paul and Joan were available for anything we needed. We could not have asked for a better experience.

    Heidi2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was just as picture perfect in person as in the pictures. The fire was lighting on arrival with eggs and butter in the fridge along with the addition of cheese and crackers!! You can also cook there with lots of bits and bobs in the cupboards to help you along the way. The cottage is super clean and has all the amenities. The trip was seamless and I would highly recommend.

  • If you dont stay here then you are truly missing out!!!!! Right from the start Joan communicated with us making sure we were greeted and welcomed to their beautiful home with detailed directions and instructions. The cottage is so perfectly appointed with everything you need for a cozy and warm stay. When we arrived, Joan had left eggs, milk, butter and jam for us so we would have a nice breakfast on our first morning! She will even help you with local tips for travel, sights to see and step by step directions so you are ensured to have the BEST experience. On one of our nights, she made sure we came home to a nice cozy fire and some delicious homemade goodies to enjoy! We felt as though we had stepped into a storybook! If we ever have the pleasure of being back in Ireland again, there is no other place I would stay!!!!! Joan and Paul are truly gems!

  • We can recommend this accommodation to 1000%. Everything available, lovely decor, lots of space, lots of charm, very good facilities, very clean, and the best: very caring, helpful and loving hosts, always have many tips for excursions and good restaurants and small surprises. Right from the start we felt very comfortable and at home. We'll be back for sure! Many thanks to Joan & Paul!

  • Fell in love with this place. Joan is just such a lovely kind person and the lodge is Devine! So warm and welcoming. Linens in bedroom was top quality. Lovely snacks left out and plenty of wood for the fire. Local village is also so cute and Joan took time to give tips on village. Everything was 100% perfect! Thank you Joan!

    Tulla, Clare, Ireland

Bright modern studio, in a rural setting surrounded by dairy farms, it overlooks the beautiful Lough Derg the River Shannon’s pleasure lake. Killaloe Ballina is considered among Ireland’s most picturesque towns, the small towns are linked by a 300-year-old arch stone bridge and can trace their history back to the 10th century. It is the birthplace of Brian Boru High King of Ireland. The area offers many leisure activities including, fishing (guided trips are available) sailing, walking, cycling (bike hire available) and golf. Our local park has an open-air heated swimming pool (summer months only) with free outdoor gym facilities. The towns enjoy a popular restaurant scene ranging from Bistros to traditional Irish, Italian, Chinese and Indian. There is a lively pub scene with evenings of traditional Irish music and some dancing. We are well served with a local Italian deli/coffee bar, bakers, butcher, organic & health food shop, and supermarket. The Sunday Farmers market is a wonderful source for fresh produce, bread, cakes, meat, vegetables, cheese. I provide a welcome pack of provisions which includes Tea, Coffee, Cereals, homemade soda Bread, Butter and homemade preserves. The kitchen also has the basic essentials sugar, salt pepper, oils etc Depending on the season fresh vegetables/salads are available from the garden Towels, linen, hairdryer & iron provided. The apartment is open plan, with a mezzanine bedroom (at the top only some ducking required for those 6ft or more to negotiate stairs.) the area includes a double bed, with lots of space for clothes, which also doubles up as a perfect spot for a baby cot. From your bed, you have delightful views of the garden and across the lake to the Clare Hills. The Ground floor has a spacious shower and toilet. The main living/dining area has double doors leading onto a conservatory overlooking the garden & lake which is set up with a small table & chairs. Outside of this, you have your own decking area with garden furniture, possible a hammock perfect for daydreaming and star gazing. The open plan fitted kitchen has a Cooker, Hob, Fridge, Freezer & Microwave, with plenty of food preparation equipment and utensils. There is WiFi, TV & DVD player with a small selection of DVD’d. Books and magazine are also available. The washing machine is in the utility room of the main house and is shared. The garden is spacious with ample seating/lounging & dining facilities. Use of BBQ equipment. Cold bags, flasks, folding chairs etc available for away day excursions and picnics. The distance from the house to the bridge which is the centre of the towns is one mile, it's an easy walk, for the first part of the walk you are on a country road, sharing it with local traffic - cars, vans and farm machinery - after a half a mile you reach footpaths. I recommend wearing a high viz jacket, I have these available. Please note that the price quoted is for 1 person there is an additional charge for a 2nd person. Rural Ireland has limited public transport, a car is advisable especially for shorter stays and if you are wishing to do away trips. For Killaloe/ Ballina take Junction 27 off the M7 motorway. The M7 links Dublin (2.5 hrs) & Limerick (30 minutes). Sat Nav (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Shannon airport is 45 minutes away/58km by motorway. Dublin Airport has direct motorway access and can be reached in around 2 hours There is plenty of parking. Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement, the garden is large and secure. I have two dogs a whippet and a cheeky energetic spaniel mix. Heating is by oil fired central heating and will be charged for accordingly at the end of the stay, it is very reasonable. See house rules. (website hidden) (website hidden) (website hidden) (website hidden)
I am lucky enough to live overlooking lough Derg the largest lake in Ireland on River Shannon Walks showing the view of the lake are truly fabulous.
  • Hit the Jackpot!! Ive stayed in many Air bnb & this ones tops them all:) Stunning setting: Great location for exploring the Shannon Area: Mary was so hospitable with lots of little ‘crafty’ extras: 5 days spent with clear blue skies & sunshine: Even if it had rained it was a special place to return to each day felt very homely. Will happily recommend to my friends & definitely return in the future

  • Really nice accommodation in a stunning setting. Mary and Ann were great hosts and had the fridge well stocked for us which was such a nice touch. Would highly recommend.

  • Exceptionally generous hostess and a lovely place to unwind. Quiet, private, safe easy parking, super clean, great cooking kitchen with all amenities. Wonderful value near great places to sight see.

    Jennifer2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is delightful to deal with, and her guest house is lovely, very comfortable with all the amenities we could need, including essentials waiting for us in the fridge. Mary also generously offered fresh vegetables from her garden! We woke up every morning astonished at the beautiful view, even from bed! The location is terrific, near charming local towns but peacefully rural. We will definitely be back!

  • Lovely, clean, quiet and cosy accommodation. Recommended.

    Ciara2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very warm welcome from Mary and Ann who are the nicest hosts you can imagine. The studio has a lovely picture window and watching the light and the colours change over the lake and the trees beyond was magical... highly recommended.

    Margarette2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • After our second stay with Mary and Ann, we definitely feel like part of the family. Their love of dogs is contagious, and we share their enthusiasm for the pups. Killaloe-Ballina is not heavily touristed or that well known to the majority of travelers, but that is a major part of its appeal. Lough Derg is beautiful, and Mary has excellent views of it and the surrounding hills. Good hikes abound in this area, and there are good treks on both sides of the lake. The studio itself is well-planned, fully equipped, with great contemporary touches, and when the sun shines, the light coming in the expansive windows is wonderful. It may be some time before Susan and I can return, but when we travel to Ireland again, Mary's welcoming stop will most assuredly be part of our itinerary.

    Walter2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend if you are looking for a from the bed view of the lake and mountains. Great location as it is just 3 minutes by car from the city centre. Mary is extremely warm and welcoming. The garden and the dogs are bonuses. We spent a couple of days and will go back again.

Welcome to Glenomra Lodge nestled in the Glenomra Valley, the lodge boasts spectacular views and is bright and spacious. Solid fuel stove so really cosy in the nights and central heating. TV (soar view) all the usual channels, sofa and seating, large dining area with amazing views from our hexagon shaped sun room. Outdoor lighting and ample parking for two cars or a touring camper, a nice lawn area for your tent. There is a washing machine in the house.
House is set in Glenomra valley, a beautiful setting with breathtaking panoramic landscape surrounding it. Very quiet and secure, near family residence with coded gates and ample parking.
The local village is a mere 300 metres away, short walk takes you to our little village which has a nice bar, with traditional irish music sessions happening regularly. The village has a grocery shop/cafe with home baked treats and great breakfast and early lunches, they will on request offer a packed lunch for your early excursion should you wish to take lunch on the road with you. The village also has a post office with cash withdrawal service and there is a church and school, at the local GAA field, one can see a game of traditional hurling almost each evening, greatly recommended if you have never seen this sport as it is widely known as the fastest field sport in the world. We have a very well known fishing lake one mile from your stay 'Doon Lake' where you can either fish from the shore or hire a fishing boat. We have some amazing hill walks in the area, ask about the enchanted lake when you are here, there is one trek in particular where you can see six counties up the gap road. Only a couple of miles away is the newly constructed 6o'clock hills, a very popular climbing forest walk. Nearer to your accommodation (walking distance) is a lovely peaceful forest walk with a little river running through it and beautiful stone Girl Guides Lodge at the entrance. Ask about our ancient Celtic cemetery, worth a visit, there are two within a mile of each other. If it's bird watching you are into, we have a long tailed eagle residing in our next door quarry, beautiful bird which can be seen perching on the cliff edge, a long lens telescope or binoculars is required to see this amazing bird of prey. Nearby (10 mins car ride) is East Clare Golf Club. Nearby towns for evening dining are: Kilaloe Quin Tulla Tuamgraney Bunratty Castle and Folk Park Nearby (20 mins car ride) Shannon Airport. We are also only a half hour car ride from these cities: Limerick Ennis We are approx one hour car ride from these attractions: Cliffs of Moher Doolin Village Kinvara Galway Kilkee Beach Lahinch Beach Salthill Beach We are situated in East Clare so perfect location (half ways) between Galway and Kerry (Killarney) this is of major benefit as you will have a centre point to relax before your north or south early morning trip. • Comfortable stay in a glorious part of Ireland. We found the property easily and it was clean and well appointed. We had to put the heating on one evening as it was chilly but this was easy to do. The property is well located for exploring Limerick, Ennis and County Clare. We finally got to the Cliffs of Moher on our 6th visit to Ireland!

  • Frances and her husband were perfect hosts. Met on arrival and there were fresh scones and other treats to be had. All amenities listed were functional and the stay was impressive all round. I would highly recommend you consider a stay here and if you do you won't regret it.

  • Frances has a great guest house in Broadford. It was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. It was just two of us but the house would have been great for a family as there was plenty of room. Broadford is a very small village but it makes a good base for exploring all of County Clare and Limerick. The two pubs in town were good and The Country Store is a great place to eat a meal or just pick up something to takeaway.

This little wooden house in the middle of the Clare Mountains is the perfect getaway for one or two nature loving people. You are surrounded by peace and tranquillity, beautiful hiking routes are at your door step and the beautiful medieval town of Killaloe on the shores of the Shannon and Lough Derg is only a short drive away. Inside this private hideout there is one bedroom and a small bathroom with shower and toilet. A shared kitchen and living room are in the main house.
Inside the "garden hut" you will find a double sofa bed, a desk, shelves and a wardrobe. In the bathroom there is a toilet and an electric shower. The space is brightly lit and has that "special" warm and comfortable feel of a wooden building. The space is heated by an electric heater as well as a cast iron stove. Only 20 yards away, in the main building, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting room and a laundry room, all of which you are welcome to share.
Killlaoe is a beautiful old town on the shores of the river Shannon and Lough Derg. It is famous for it's fishing and water sports. The house itself is the perfect starting point for a hike up the highest mountain of Co.Clare, Moylussa.
  • The views were amazing here! If you’re looking for a quiet, out if the way place to see the Irish countryside, this is it. Important to note- this is a guesthouse with just a main room and a bathroom. The bed is a sofa bed but it was very comfortable! The bathroom was heated and had great hot water in the shower. If you need a kitchen, laundry, or WiFi you do have to go to the main house which you have access to only when the family is home. Joachim and his son were very friendly. We would stay again- and to say it again, the views!! Wow!!

  • Lovely little private cabin on the property. Very quiet and remote location - yet closeby to nearby activities. It’s about 15 minutes to Killaloe/Balina, about 1.5 hours to Dublin, and about 2 hours to the Cliffs of Moher. Joachim was very kind and helpful as a host. We’d highly recommend this place.

  • Absolutely beautiful setting. Great host. Bring a camera for amazing pictures of the true Ireland.

  • Joachim is kind and helpful. The studio is independent but Joachim was never far away when needed. Nestled in nature, calm guaranteed. Car highly recommended however if you have to go to town, without fearing the winding country roads but that's part of the charm. Particularly interesting price for independent housing

  • The House was very cute. It‘s a perfect place to make a walk. On the hills you can have a great view! Joachim ist a very nice guy, who have us many information about this beautiful country.

Our house is ideally located in medieval Limerick, close to restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities and within strolling distance of Limerick Town Centre. We want you to feel welcome in our home and we think you’ll enjoy the cosiness, the comfy beds and the charm of high ceilings along with the cosiness of our house which is in a welcoming community. Our place is suitable for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
Our house is a lovely old house with the period charm of high ceilings and fireplaces in the each of the rooms. But don't worry, we're not relying on the fireplaces to heat the house - the house is lovely and cosy without having to light a fire. The house is in the medieval part of Limerick, close to the old St. Marys Cathedral, King Johns Castle, the Treaty Stone, the Hunt Museum and the River Shannon. Limerick city centre is a mere two minutes walk from the house. We are on hand all the time and can give you whatever help and guidance you may need during your stay.
The Kings Island and St. Mary's community is an old and established community that is thriving to this day. It is a most welcoming community with everybody looking for an opportunity to chat and to welcome visitors to our community / parish.

  • When we arrived we had a lovely welcome. This place has all you need. It’s quiet, really comfortable, cozy and if you ask for something, Lahja will help. The electronic blanket in the bed is probably our favorite. Even if in wintertime stays the house warm. All in all we can say that it was more than we expected. Next stay will be in the summertime! :-)

    Alexander2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • highly recommend, great experience, brandon and Lahja are very kind and helpful, the house was better than expected

    Albert2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lahja’ cabin was perfect for us on our short visit to Limerick / Clare. It was laid out very thoughtfully and had everything that we needed including teas / coffees and she even came to us with some milk upon arrival. I would add that a car is absolutely necessary in order to stay here. With a car it’s more than convenient, only about 20 minutes from Limerick City. For the price I couldn’t recommend this stay enough, Lahja kept great communication throughout and was more than helpful with any and all of our needs. Wonderfully peaceful place.

  • Ruth’s home was cozy, cute, comfortable, and warm. Her home is out of the bustle of the center city where parking is a nightmare (downtown), but the stay is still conveniently located a quick 5 minute drive to the good stuff. Ruth was a wonderful host who made sure lines of communication were open and she provided great local tips.

    River2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ruth's place. The rooms are nice and comfy and Ruth was incredibly welcoming. The place is great for anyone traveling on a budget: prices are about the same as a hostel and you can save some money on breakfast, as she provides some bread and cereals. I would definitely recommend this place.

    Zoé2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth’s place is a great place for the price. It is a bit outside the city but Ruth did tell us that and we were okay with it. Ruth’s place is not the place if you want to party. She has strict quiet hours starting at 10 pm on Friday, which we thought was a bit early. There is no flushing the toilet after midnight as well. But over her place was good and she was amazing. She did a great job checking in on us and was very accommodating

The bus stops right outside the house and gives good access to most of the city. • Amazing hosts, very helpful. Great place to stay, nespresso machine sauna and hot tub are a huge bonus. Basic essentials provided. I took a wrong turn on the way and ended up stuck in a ditch, hosts came and got me out, really appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

    Rachael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super cute and cozy, everything was really clean and with all the services that you need. They left milk and bread for breakfast. The jacuzzi and the sauna are fab. We will repeat for sure, such an amazing experience in a really nice spot in the countryside, for disconnect your mind is brilliant.

    Cristina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Milking Parlour was a great place to stay. It’s exactly as advertised and Steve was very accommodating (apologies again for getting the car stuck). There are a lot of nice touches around the house including the stove and the hot water bottles and having the hot tub/sauna is a great flourish. A lot of thought went into the house and it shows.

    Kieran2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Came in for a night in February, it had been a cold and rainy day. Steve had the fire going for us. It was nice to come into. We also had some basic breakfast supplies left such as coffee/tea, fresh eggs from their chickens, bread, and extras. It was a nice set up and private. It's in the country, so great for peace.

    Natasha2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very relaxing and tranquil spot. Great hosts that allowed for total privacy while still being close by if we might have needed anything. The separate jacuzzi and sauna are a really nice touch. If you want somewhere to go to switch off, this is the place to go. Would be very happy to stay here again!

    Joe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very lovely spot for couples or two people. Jess and Steve, were very good hosts, who answered all the questions and requests we had. The building had English connects for the plug sockets, which was a blessing and the Rayburn was great at keeping the place warm. The hot tube was lovely and we took full advantage of this facility.

    Jess2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at Steve's place!! Its an Oasis for complete relaxation! We arrived and lit the stove straight away before having a dip in the hot tub. The milking parlour is so cozy and is finished with lovely touches. Will definitely be back.

It is ideally situated as a base for tourists and business travelers to the Irish Southwest. Yvonne and her family are very welcoming and helpful. It was a pleasure meeting them! They have a beautiful home and make you feel like you are one of the family. Neil is very knowledgeable in local and Irish history, and is an excellent tour guide. I especially enjoyed Roz and Tibbie, their beautiful and friendly family pets. My stay with them will stay with me as I travel on, and I highly recommend anyone to stay here if given the opportunity.

Recently renovated, our stylish, open plan barn conversion is set in the idyllic rural landscape of County Clare. It adjoins our 150 year old stone farmhouse, and offers a self-contained holiday space ideal for those who like peace and quiet 'off the beaten track'. The clever use of space means you have your own kitchen, dining and sleeping area with a small en suite shower/toilet and the living space includes a unique Bluthner grand piano for the musically minded!
The accommodation is on the ground floor and has ample parking outside. We are about half a mile down a leafy, wooded laneway from the main Ennis road. There is a wood burning stove with fuel provided. A car is recommended as public transport is limited, however walkers and cyclists are welcome, (we can offer lifts if we are around). We are just 2- 3 mins drive (20 min walk) from the local village of Tuamgraney with its well known gastro-pub Nuala's. Scariff town with shopping, post office bank etc is 5 mins drive away. As the fields around us have sheep and cattle we are not keen to host furry friends (pets)...although we do love them! We have a log haired cat, but she doesn't chase sheep.
We are situated just over a mile from Lough Derg and the Shannon, surrounded by mountains and lakes. This area of east Clare is well known for it's natural beauty and offers fishing, hill walking, water sports, historic sites, great pubs and restaurants and scenic harbours at Mountshannon and Killaloe. There is plenty to do in the area, (see http://www.discoverloughderg.ie/lough-derg-blueway/). You could include a boat trips to Holy Island, or go sailing at the University of Limerick's Watersport's Centre, go horse riding in the Bernagh mountains, or play golf (www.eastclaregolfclub.ie). There is a local artisan chocolate factory and renowned Mc Kieran weavers (see http://scarves.ie). Our accommodation is also well situated for visits to the west Clare, the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands, Galway and historic Limerick.
  • The place was so comfortable and it was so nice having a wood burning stove to heat the place! It reminded me of my childhood. Nicola was very kind and made sure we were comfortable and happy!

  • Nicola's cottage is a dream. It's quite, and cozy with thoughtful little touches. The chair by the fireplace was my favorite part of the weekend, quietly reading by the fire. We arrived late and Nicola has already started the fire for us so the cottage was warm and welcoming. And she was accommodating with our schedule on check-out day which made planning our trip a breeze. It was like a mini country get-a-way and retreat weekend! Thank you Nicola! We hope to return again soon!

    Carly2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic picturesque place to stay. A beautiful part of Co Clare within a short distance to some amazing places to visit. Close to the village shops and pubs. Very clean and comfortable. Nicola was always on hand to reply to any questions etc. Would definitely return.

  • Rita's place is fantastic!! I loved everything about our stay! Her home is so quaint and lovely, with a delightful sunroom off the back that was perfect for an afternoon read. The bedroom was warm and cozy, and we had a comfortable night sleep. Tea and coffee was always available, and a delicious breakfast with several options was provided. Rita is so sweet and kind!! She went above and beyond to provide everything we needed, and then some. After we got back from our activities for the day, it was so nice to sit down in her kitchen and have a chat over tea and cookies. I very much enjoyed getting to know her. Sad that we only spent one night there, but if we ever find ourselves in Ireland again I would definitely book another stay at Rita's place!!!

    Amanda2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rita is a lovely woman with a very beautiful house where I felt so good that I would have appreciated to stay one more week just for relaxing ! All was perfectly cleaned and she arranged her house and the room to make her guests feel really good. She takes care of all details and knows very well how to welcome ! Thanks a lot

  • Rita's place is lovely! She goes above and beyond as an AirBnB host, evident through her attentiveness to visitor needs: providing breakfast, travel tips on where to visit, and amazing amenities. I highly recommend staying here, but if you plan on venturing to sights such as the Cliffs, Burren Region, Bunratty Castle, etc. I strongly recommend renting a car to do so. Public transportation from Rita's is limited, with the only option a 10 min walk to the train station.

    Sara2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rita's place is a fantastic place to stay! Very true to reviews, Rita really went out of her way to make the stay special, and her home is absolutely spotless, with any amenity you could possibly need. Highly recommend!

  • Stayed in Roisin and Charlie's place recently. This was just home from home. Fridge was stocked with essentials for our first night........Roisin even provided dressing gowns and hot water bottles (which we were glad of as the weather turned nasty). This is an ideal property if you just want to get away from it all. Situated overlooking the lake in Killaloe it is ideal for touring the surrounding countryside. Roisin and Charlie were amazing hosts and even provided us with fresh eggs every day. Thank you again and for all the laugh and chats we had. Highly recommended and hope to visit again one day .....when the weather is better!

  • My girlfriend and I were looking for a cottage style place in the countryside of Ireland as we were driving from Dublin to The Cliffs of Moher & Galway. We were so excited to find this place. It was very clean, had breathtaking views (especially sunset over the moutnains & lake), and Roisin & Charlie were the best hosts and very communicative. We would highly recommend this place for a getaway and would love to return if we're in the area again.

Our house is a modern open plan house built by us in 2003 on the hills overlooking the Shannon Estuary. It is a 2 storey house but with the living area all on the 2nd floor to make the most of the view. The front door, entrance hall, garage and basement are on the ground level.

  • Judith's home is fabulous! First of all, it's probably the most stylish Airbnb I've ever stayed in. Judith provided plenty of clear instructions on how to locate the house and where to park upon arrival. She met me when I got there and gave me a few tips on where to go in the area for food and whatnot. The room and bathroom are chic and absolutely sparkling clean. My one night stay was quiet and comfortable, and I wish I could have stayed longer. Before heading out, Judith fixed a whole breakfast spread for me to enjoy which was so above-and-beyond. I would absolutely stay here again if ever in the area!

'Boreen' is a cosy, handcrafted cabin hidden in the hills with uninterrupted tranquility & stunning views of the countryside. Be one of the first to stay in this newly refurbished Airbnb. Completed in late December 2019, everything in the cabin has been custom-designed and built to give you a completely unique and incredibly special experience. Just a ten-minute drive from the hugely popular twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina, Boreen feels a world away while on the doorstep of exploration.
The cabin is a cosy self-contained space, carefully designed to relax and inspire. Stay in either of the two bespoke bedrooms, with beds so comfy you won't want to leave. Both feature raised floors giving you stunning nature views with additional areas to have some quiet time away from the main living space. The rest of the cabin boasts an open plan living, kitchen and dining area that will cater to all of your needs. The living space is comprised of cloudlike couches, where you can put your feet up and relax to the sounds of the wood-burning stove. Read a book, watch some Netflix or connect to the portable speaker. If you feel like cooking, the space also hosts a fully kitted out kitchen with all the herbs, spices and sauces you need to cook up a storm. If being in the kitchen is your idea of hell, don't worry. There's pizza and ice cream waiting for you in the freezer. The cabin has WiFi and an iPad at your disposal. But if you'd prefer to disconnect, we've got plenty of board games, art materials, playing cards, books and magazines to keep you entertained. The open plan area gives way to the outer deck where you can dine al fresco under cover, sit back and relax in our super comfy outdoor couches or just take in the sounds of flowing water and birds singing as you look out over the lovely landscape. Explore the one-acre property where you will discover an abundance of special surprises. Beginning behind the cabin, enter ancient Irish ruins before following the forest path through the garden. Just beyond is a slow-moving stream that runs the length of the property. Follow this downriver for another treat! In recent times, a special section of land was purchased from the neighbouring farmer, giving guests exclusive access to an enchanting riverside walk. Located on an extremely popular walking trail, and within ten minutes of local villages Killaloe and Ballina, Boreen works as both a peaceful retreat and a perfect base to see nearby sights and to explore charming towns.
Boreen is situated within ten minutes of several lovely villages including heritage twin towns Killaloe and Ballina. These charming villages are widely recognised as some of Ireland’s most picturesque towns. Linked by a 300-year-old arch stone bridge over the River Shannon (Ireland's longest river), their history can be traced back to the 10th century and is the birthplace of Brian Boru, High King of Ireland. Both towns boast an abundance of charming cafes, casual and fine dining restaurants and a lively local Irish pub scene with evenings of traditional Irish music and dancing. A Farmer's market takes place each Sunday from 11am-3pm in Killaloe. A heaven for foodies! Stock up on locally produced organic vegetables, cheeses, artisan meats and fish along with a vast array of freshly baked bread and mouthwatering pastries. Other popular activities include sailing, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, waterskiing and jetskiing. The cabin is incredibly well connected if you would like to travel further afield, with lots of worthwhile day trips on your doorstep: Garrykennedy - 15minutes Limerick - 30minutes Terryglass - 45minutes Shannon - 1hr Lahinch (Cliffs Of Moher) - 1.5hrs Galway - 1.5hrs Dublin - 2hrs Cork - 2hrs Kerry - 2hrs Killarney - 2hrs Waterford - 2hrs
  • Such a great stay away from main roads and busy cities. The living space was great, beds were comfortable and clean. The nearest village isn’t far at all and it’s got plenty of shops for groceries etc. The location was great, far from main roads away from the noise, the only downside of this was the internet and 3G were a bit patchy, but this really wasn’t a problem, we weren’t on our phones often during our stay. The games options were fantastic and really fun! 100% worth staying at, highly recommend Steve’s place!

    Isabella2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend this stay away. It's an amazing spot if you need to get away and relax, have a sunny walk or a cozy night in.

  • Absolutely incredible place, I had a fantastic stay, the place is so beautifully finished and immaculately clean and has everything you could possibly need. I had a little baby with me and Steve went as far as to have a travel cot and high chair there for us. Highly recommend and will definitely return as soon as I can. Lyndsey

  • This is the place to come to to turn off the outside world and relax. Spectacular views just around the corner. The cabin sits on a creak and you can hear the rustle of the water going by. The front of the cabin is lined with tall trees. There is not traffic, no urban noise, and when the sky is free of clouds you can look up into infinity and let your thoughts mingle with the stars.

  • The nicest airbnb I've stayed in. Highlights included the ultra comfortable beds, the kitchen facilities and supplies, the garden, and the local walks. Steve was extremely helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend his place enough. Thanks Steve!

  • Can't say enough good things about this place. Boreen is everything you dream an air BnB will be. Steve provided us with everything we needed for a perfect chilled out weekend. There was so much attention to detail in all aspects of our stay. From the design of the extremely comfortable bedrooms to the cosy main living space, it was clear the owner really thought about how a space should function for maximum comfy relaxo time!! We had everything we needed and more (shout out to the fully stocked snack press) and Steve was on hand to answer any questions that we had. The land the cabin sits on is so beautiful and peaceful. We had loads of fun exploring the ruins and the views of the land from the bedrooms windows are an amazing thing to wake up to. We didn't get to do too much walking as we were there during the storm, but we did make it into killaloe village (10min drive away) which had loads of nice cafes and pubs and a supermarket for supplies. I would highly recommend booking a stay at Boreen if you want to get away from the world and recharge.

  • Just AWESOME! One of the best places we have ever stayed in! We weren't lucky to have good weather to take advantage of all the beautiful landscapes but we still had so many options around the house. Sitting by the fireplace and enjoying all the great details of the house(there is never enough "Yeti in my Spagetti" one can play). Will be definetly back as soon as possible!

  • Hey Steve! Loved your piece of heaven, waking up in the morning to the sound of the birds and the river running by was so tranquil. loved the retro touches and attention to detail in every corner. From an interior architect, the layout and what you have achieved in a small space is so beautiful and elegant. The place is spotless and cozy and the finishing touches like the happy birthday balloon, Prosecco, the stocked fridge and freezer really made the whole place extra special. We can’t wait to see what it will look like for our next stay! Thanks a million! Gary and Olivia

  • Marie’s place is well worth a visit if you are in the Sixmilebridge area. The off street parking was safe and secure. Marie welcomed me into her home and offered me a cup of tea. The en-suite room is bright and warm with a beautiful daisy mosaic on the bathroom wall. Breakfast was a bonus and is not always offered by other hosts. I would highly recommend a stay at Marie’s home away from home.

  • This space was fantastic! Marie is absolutely lovely and so easy to talk to! She communicated well with us and was very kind when we wanted to arrive a tad bit late! It’s right outside of Shannon, 20 minutes to Limerick and it only took us 15 minutes to get to the airport! The small touches are adorable and the bath tub is phenomenal! I mean phenomenal! She’s so welcoming and the house is just beautiful. We hope to visit there again soon!

  • I stayed at Paul's place with my adult/teen children for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Paul and Jackie are the best hosts and did everything possible to make us feel welcome and at home. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday is provided. They even have a good selection of DVD's. The accommodation is located next door to their home so if you need anything, they are on hand. Their dogs are even friendly and welcoming! Lovely people who will go the extra mile for you and a beautiful scenic location, ideally situated for exploring Clare/Tipperary/Limerick and just a 5 minute drive to the lovely twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina. Thanks from all of us. Hope to see you again sometime. Highly recommended!

  • I can only give 5 stars in all categories! It was wonderful - Paul and Jackie are great hosts, super helpful and just lovely people. The cottage is perfectly tidy and clean, it was easy to feel comfortable and cosy. They even put up a baby bed for us. We were travelling with 3 friends (all girls) and a baby and the rooms were perfect for that. 1 of us and the baby could stay downstairs with the bathroom close and the other 2 could stay upstairs in 2 of the 3 single beds. We will definitely come back to this place if we’re around!
