  • Very cozy, charming, and rustic. Easy to drive to many wonderful spots in the Chama area. Highly recommend for an authentic rural New Mexico getaway. We were doing winter cross country skiing. All arrangements and check-in were handled very expeditiously and correctly.

  • This was a very clean and comfortable place to stay while we were in Chama. Bidal and Connie live across the street and were there to check us in right away as we arrived. The value of this rental is outstanding compared to a hotel in Chama.

  • Lovely casita, very comfortable. Augusta and her parents are organized, kind and made us feel quite at home. The casita is spacious, with ample room for relaxing, sleeping and cooking. Would strongly recommend.

  • Tim’s home was amazing. The views were spectacular and it was equipped with everything we needed. It was sparkling clean and had extra sheets and towels. We are a family of 5 and there was enough room for all of us. My family and I enjoyed experiencing a white Christmas.

  • The most idyllic cabin. Such beautiful surroundings, and so cozy and comfortable. Couldn’t have had a better time.

    Martha2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was the most considerate host I have ever encountered. He contacted us to make sure we could safely travel to the cabin and checked on us to make sure all was great. Very considerate and thoughtful. We very much appreciated his concern and kindness. Tim’s cabin is an adorable mountain getaway. It is a beautiful spot surrounded by trees and nature. Friendly deer hung around the cabin and were fun to watch. The cabin was snug and warm in the middle of a snowstorm. Loved the location, amenities, furnishings and can’t wait to be back!

    Wendy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t recommend this place enough! Tim was an thoughtful and communicative host and the place incredible. Great location and comfortable with some very cute touches. I will definitely be staying here again.

  • This cozy cabin is the perfect spot for a getaway to Chama. It's secluded but easy to get to. It's a clean and quiet place to relax and unplug. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family! Thank you, Tim!

    Maria2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, quiet space. Very clean. We spent time traveling the area but found our time on the porch to be very relaxing and was often one of the best parts of the day. The porch is also a great place to eat breakfast and watch the wildlife which included at least 4 deer over our stay. This location is marvelous if you are looking for quiet getaway and place to relax. Highly recommended!

    Mark2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great secluded location, wildlife is right out of a Disney movie. Host/owner was responsive and very helpful. Had a very relaxing experience.

  • Lovely, secluded, peaceful getaway with all the amenities, beautifully appointed.

    Gregg2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house is out in the country yet not that far from Chama. There are many things to do in the area, but also difficult to leave this house as it was so peaceful and enjoyable. The beds were the best I've seen in a rental. Everything was just great. I wouldn't mind just staying at the house and not going anywhere, maybe actually read a book!

    Howard2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • It's such a cozy and beautiful place. We felt at home and really enjoyed the scenery and amazing wildlife.

    Carmen2019-06-16T00:00:00Z

The Twin Pines Lodge is a peaceful home inhabited by Dave, Yolany, and our 10 yr. old son. We enjoy a quiet life on our 3.5 acre piece of paradise on a dead end street. Come and enjoy the fresh air and tranquility in our middle room. You will enjoy morning sunlight coming in through two windows that face east. Amenities include full bath. Relax in your tub, or grab a,quick shower. There is a mini fridge, and a microwave oven. Also a table to use for meals, or whatever. One full bed and a twin.
Peaceful place to get away, collect your thoughts, and relax. This room gets morning sunlight and has private heat setting. Furnished with two comfortable beds, easy chair, and table. A full bath, mini-fridge, microwave oven, and coffee maker, are at your disposal. If you get lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife off the 2nd story balcony.
Peace and quiet, interrupted only by occasional thunder or the train whistle. Abundant wildlife is always present.
  • Nice comfortable room about a mile from the railroad station. The area is very peaceful and quiet. Coffee and tea are provided. Recommend.

    Bill2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice space with a second bed that was perfect for my son. It even had adorable tractor sheets on it that he loved. The downsides are the thin toilet paper and the load noises from the heater when it is on. Host was very communicative though, and overall it was a very nice stay.

    Natalie & Jesse2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Just as pictured with everything you need for a get-away. I was just there for an overnight so didn't spend time on the property other than the room. Bed was very comfy, bedside lamp and alarm clock much appreciated. Refrigerator also came in handy for me. Would stay again if I am back in the area.

    Terri2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Dave was a phenomenal host who offered great recommendations of where to eat in town. Very accommodating and the place was magnificent for the price. Awesome cabin style home in a nice area. Will stay again in the future!

    Anthony2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at David and Yolany's and I enjoyed it as much as the first. I like how the location is just far enough away from the rail yard so that the whistle commands aren't super loud. David and Yolany are very easy to interact with and make check-in/check-out a breeze. Their spaces are clean, quiet, and have all the necessary travel items like shampoo, coffee/coffee machine, fridge, etc. I highly recommend renting from them.

    Vicente2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great value. You will be in a safe clean space.

    Stella2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a really nice stay at Yolany's place. The house is beautiful and the room was spacious.

Chama and especially the Brazos Cliffs area of Chama, where Aspen Lodge cabin is located, is the premiere vacation spot in Northern New Mexico. Fishing in the neighborhood trout pond and famous Brazos River, hiking, exploring, 2 major lakes- Heron Lake and ElVado Lake are all in the area. Chama is also home to the famous Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, with its stream powered locomotives. Aspen Lodge makes WHERE you stay a key focal point of your trip to Chama.
Aspen Lodge is nestled in a beautiful Aspen Grove in the back of our property and tall pines and aspens in the front. It is a beautiful setting with tree covered lanes that are green, cool, and wonderful to walk on. It's truly a forest setting. Deer visit our lodge pretty much every day and are abundant in the area. They are used to seeing people which allows for some great up-close photos.. so bring your cell phone/camera. They are most frequently on our property in the morning and in the late afternoon. Aspen Lodge has a large rear deck overlooking the aspens with views of the Brazos. There are also views from among the aspens. We also have a front porch where you can sit and enjoy the feeling of the forest. We have a nice gas barbecue grill on the back deck, and a glass front wood stove in the living room, so you can enjoy the fire on those cool mountain evenings. Fishing is really great in our neighborhood. We have a trout pond about a seven minute walk from the lodge. Access for fishing the Brazos River...one of the best trout rivers in the state, is also right in our neighborhood. In the winter, you can snowshoe and back country ski right out our door. The deer tend to form larger herds during this time and we've had groups of twenty or more right out our door.
Aspen Lodge is right in the Brazos Cliffs/ Brazos Lodge area. You can hike up to the highest waterfall in New Mexico (over 1000' high), hike along quiet country roads and trails, bring your ATVs, fish in the Brazos or our neighborhood trout pond, and relax on our spacious rear deck, taking in the scenery and enjoying the wildlife that frequent our location. Deer are abundant.
  • Relaxing ,great get away, felt like home away from home

  • Fabulous fun in the mountains! Lovely walk to the Brazos River. Comfortable accommodations, lovely host!

    Jennifer2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The river that runs behind the house produces such a relaxing white noise from the water. Such a peaceful little spot tucked up in the canyon. We were so thankful to enjoy this families home and can’t wait to return and drop off the grid for some relaxation. Mule deer are no stranger to the yard and for us Texans it was a treat to discover when we woke up. Thanks for the hospitality!

  • My dad and I went up to Chama for his birthday a few days before Christmas. We got late start and with a quick text, the heat was turned up and the electric blankets going. The place was clean, quiet and a short walk to dinner. Grocery was a mile and change from the apartment, plus everything else there is to offer around. I would stay there again.

    Robert2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • this place is built and managed with LOVE. I cant say enough about the extra help and modifications made to fit our needs , we stayed 10 nights and felt at home, although we never met the host our warm welcome basket and extra things Tabitha and Serina did to make our stay comfortable are very appreciated. We broke a knob on the stove while leaving when our dry food box bumped it, they were so understanding and just real genuine folks. I hope you enjoy Chama as much as we did and with the security system and home feel like that of family nearby know that your stuff is safe while you are out. We left the door unlocked at night and never worried. we had deer pass through the yard while there and it was very much a place that I cant wait to come back too. the only bad part was driving back to Houston, thank you so much Sincerely Alan McCuistion

  • An exceptionally clean and cozy apartment conveniently located 1 block from downtown Chama and the narrow gauge train depot. The apartment doubles a hair salon when not being rented out. This adds to it’s charm. If you are lucky, you will get to meet the owners, Tabitha and Serina, delightful and charming hosts!

The ground level contains 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. - There is no dishwasher and no washer and dryer. The nearest laundromat is in Chama. - There is not internet at the house. We usually use our Verizon hotspot, which has great coverage in the area. -The living room has a large 48" flatscreen TV with cable satellite and premium channels. There is also a 32" TV and DVD player downstairs.
Chama is a quaint mountain village surrounded by forests and elk and deer habitat, making it an ideal base for outdoor adventure. Hunting, fishing, hiking, ATV rental, trail bike riding, horseback riding, river rafting, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are right outside your door. Don't miss the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Steam Train Excursions leave the Chama depot daily from Memorial Day to mid-October. In Summers visitors come from all over for the popular 4th of July fireworks display. In August, the town celebrates Chama Days with parades, music, sports and other festivities.

  • My father and I have stayed here for a long weekend for 3 years in a row. There’s a reason we keep coming back.

  • Jerry & Judy have an amazing mountain home with the best scenery off the back deck. We enjoyed glassing the elk and deer with the binoculars Jerry provided us! We even heard the elk bugling our last evening outside at the pond that had come in for a drink through the night! Our boys loved running around with Jerry & especially loved playing with Bogey the St. Bernard dog. We enjoyed the endless conversations with them & the hospitality. You leave feeling like part of the family!

    Kristin2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beautiful! The views were the best in Chama. Jerry and Judy were the best hosts we’ve had through our house rental experience. The home was beautiful, the place was peaceful. Jerry and Judy made us feel at home and like family. The breakfasts provided were the best meals we had in Chama! We will stay here every time we stay in Chama.

    Brittany2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! The space itself was perfect - a gorgeous location with a sparkling clean and lovely set of rooms. The jack and jill bedroom/bathroom setup was perfect for our parents/child needs. And Judy and Jerry were outstanding hosts - warm welcome, knowledgeable about the area, and superb hospitality for our family (especially the delicious and homey breakfasts). None of us wanted to leave.

    Nancy2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place, quiet, with a spectacular view, the best hosts, great breakfast and information from the hosts if needed. We stayed for two nights and wished we could have stayed the whole holiday. Clean rooms in the new building. Would like to visit again in the future.

Welcome to the Gandy Dancer! My place is close to parks, art and culture, the Cumbres Narrow gauge railroad, great views, and restaurants and dining. There is also great fishing, hunting, and a ski resort (about an hour away) nearby. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the kitchen, and the coziness. My place is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), business retreats, and big groups.
Built in the 1800's, our Victorian style home, is a spacious, two story home with character and charm.
In town, our favorite local bar and restaurants are Fosters and the High Country. If you are looking for breakfast, the Elkhorn Cafe is highly recommended. Around Chama, there is biking, hiking, sledding, hunting, fishing, salmon snagging.
  • Such an awesome place to stay! So many amenities and little comfort touches available! Walking distance to the cute historical town of central Chama. • Sherrie was great and very responsive to all questions and requests. There was even fresh fruit and snacks for us when we arrived. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well equipped and cook friendly. I will stay there for all future visits to Chama.

  • The home was accurately advertised and what we expected. We really enjoyed our stay, the home was clean and cozy and had everything we needed during for our stay. The location was perfect. Located in a lovely green quite neighborhood with a very short walk to the downtown area and train station. We spent the 4th of July holiday and were pleasantly surprised to see the front of the home decorated for the holiday which we found to be a great touch. The host left clear instruction and promptly responded to questions.

  • The house was in an amazing location for our trip on the train. Everything was clean and the house was tidy. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the living room space. We didn't do any cooking, just used the glasses, but the kitchen was a nice size. Check in and check out was easy. Thanks for the great place to stay!

  • The cottage was comfortable and inviting. Loved hearing the train and neighborhood rooster in the morning. My husband and daughter were happy to have satellite and I was happy to have a washer and dryer readily available. Check in and out was super easy. All the amenities make this place a hidden gem in Chama!
