  • This was a great surprise to stumble across when a trip to Barcelona I had planned for my boyfriends 30th had to be cancelled due to Corona virus. I felt lucky to have a haven in our own country to go to and when we have the sunshine there really is no need to go abroad. The treehouse is stunning and I would have been happy to self isolate for months there! The hot tub is especially a great touch in the pine trees and when the sunsets it is beautiful! A very beautiful place hidden away - we could have been in Canada! Thank you Katy!

  • Wonderful location! The cabin was cute, clean and modern - the hot tub was magical to sit in and turn off the lights to watch the stars. Spoilt for choice to either just stay at the cabin or go on adventures in the local area.

  • Great remote location you feel very secluded and private when in the hot tub and home. Comfy beds and nice living area perfect for a cosy winter stay like what we had and I should imagine great for a summer exploration stay aswell. We would definitely consider coming here again.

  • We spent Christmas at Toad Hall and had the most magical time. The house is so unbelievably beautiful and no picture can do it justice. The house had been decorated tastefully which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was just amazing and was well used on the cold nights! We would definitely go back again without hesitation. Thank you Katy! Xxx

The cabin is a light comfortable carefully designed and newly built Scandanavian style self-contained building with a complete kitchen, separate shower room and pull down Very comfortable Queen sized bed. It has a television with integral DvD player and heating under the wooden floor. Great Wi-fi, Contemporary lighting. The cabin is in my garden, with parking and just one minute fom the quay And it’s own private patio.. It is central to the shops and restaurants and bars in lovely Wells. Twenty minutes walk to the beach. I make sure that essentials like tea and coffee are available. The bed is made up and there are lots of towels. • We had a lovely break at the cottage over half term with our two children. The cottage was clean and had the essentials needed for our stay. Only thing I would say is that the road to access the property had a lot of large pot holes which made it difficult to navigate- particularly in the dark!!

    Natalie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place to stay. The location was perfect with horses in the field and a guinea foul who visited our door. The kids loved it as they could wander up the path to the horses on their own. A great place to stay and we will definitely be back.

  • Great location in Norfolk, short drive from the likes of Holkham, Wells, Burnham Market. Kate gave us lots of local tips and advice and communication was very good. The cottage itself is very cosy, well kitted out and there’s even a well stocked games cupboard. We also found the beds very comfortable! 10/10

  • A great cosy cottage in an excellent location Clean and comfortable Friendly host and well equipped accommodation Recommend for short break or longer stay

    Tristan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's cottage is really lovely - so cosy, clean and welcoming (it was great to walk in and find a tea tray set out on the table, complete with chocolate biscuits!) It's very well located with off road parking, but so quiet and has pleasant green views (and quite dark skies for stargazing). There are free range chickens outside the front door and a good sized enclosed rear garden. We enjoyed relaxing with the log burner in the evenings and slept really well under the feather duvets! Another stand out point is how well equipped the cottage is. Plenty of plates, cutlery, cooking utensils etc in the kitchen, extra toilet rolls - small points which really make a break easier. There's also a very well stocked games cupboard, and lots of books and DVDs. We loved our stay and would love to return for longer!

This stunning quaint property is wrapped in 12 acres of private nature filled woodland. With a short walk to hundreds of acres and lakes of Bawsey Country Park. From an open fire to a luxurious hot tub. This wonderful property is about finding time to relax, unwind and make happy memories from beautiful walks that end with a cup of tea as the dog lays in front of the Aga, to stargazing the night sky with perhaps a glass of bubbly while relaxing in the hot tub.
Paradise is situated in private woodlands which is shared with one other property, but is accessed by its own completely separate driveway and front door. Both properties having their own private gardens and hot tubs. Paradise is surrounded by nature and backing onto one of the most breath-taking Country parks.
Nature, privacy, luxury and fun. Its about relaxation and creating an experience that will remain with you for a lifetime and hopefully be the first of many visits. We have succeeded if you are coming back to recharge with us in years to come.
  • Thank you for a great weekend away! Location is amazing! Directions very accurate. Loved the views and walks through surrounding woodlands. Hot tub was amazing surrounded by nature. Definitely want to visit again in summer!

    Kerry2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights at Stephens Lodge and our contact Jane went above and beyond to ensure our stay went as smooth as possible even when things out of our hands went wrong! There are lovely little touches in around the lodge to make your stay so easy, especially if you are bringing a dog with you. It’s these little things that really count. The walk around the lake was as wonderful as depicted in the pictures and we were very fortunate with the weather. The fireplace at night time made for a great cosy feature to really help us all relax. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials and we found cooking large evening meals for 4 people very easy. The hot tub is the icing on the cake, perfect temperatures even in the cold evening chill. We did not venture out apart from our lake walk as the property was just too nice to want to leave. Would definitely return. Thank you!

    George2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place with a gorgeous lake just behind the property for a scenic walk!

    Kristen2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cottage was very relaxing, everything we need to get away from life stresses. We enjoyed everything that was on offer! the hot tub we ideal every morning and evening under the stars.

    Aimie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a getaway, so relaxing. Exactly what we needed to zen out. Loved that it was hidden away behind a main road, this made it hard to find but allowed us to be in our own little world almost.

    Jenna2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place. Stephen & Jane were lovely hosts and their cottage was just what we needed for a relaxing break. Communication was great throughout the entire booking process and during our stay. accommodating hosts whose special touches are much appreciated -thank you! You are surrounded by nature everywhere you turn: the beautiful Lake just one minutes walk away, deer greeting you as you open your curtains in the morning and looking up at the stars on a clear night while soaking in the hot tub. So magical! The cottage itself is clean, warm and cosy with a fireplace in the living room (wood was provided for us on the first night). The kitchen is well equipped with all you need - tea and coffee and even a bottle of wine was waiting for us on arrival - lovely touch. The beds were a comfortable place to rest your head after a day going on walks and there a was ample space to store your things. The Bawsey church ruins are just 10-15 minute walk away, Sainsbury’s is a 5 minute drive. This is a lovely spot to relax and it exceeded our expectations! Thank you both so much - we would love to return again soon!

    Nicole2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful, everything was ready and clean. The location was fantastic and was amazing for the dog to have a run around the lake. Then to come back to a nice hot tub was a great end to the day!

    Aaron2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Overall a great stay. An amazingly comfy bed and a nice location for local amenities and walks however the property was very close to the main road so it didn't feel as tucked away as advertised.

The Summerhouse is a lovingly restored 1960s cedar wood holiday chalet on a quiet holiday chalet site just 8 minutes stroll to the beach. Up styled In 2019. Beautifully furnished in a vintage style and quirky style. Stuffed full of little things that will make you smile. Great reviews. Near great pubs and fabulous places to eat. No wifi - have a detox from your phone! Leave the rat race behind and have some peace...breathe, relax and recharge...
The Summerhouse is now in its 8th year of my ownership and there are now so many people who know how special this little place is. Families come back year after year to have a traditional, old fashioned holiday. Many children ask their parents to come back, couples come for the peace and quiet, and guests also come on their own to lap up the wonderful space. To unplug from busy lives. This makes me so happy as this was my vision when I bought the property. So get your buckets and spades ready! The site is still very quiet even in the summer, allowing you to sit under the willow tree and read that book you have been meaning to start. Children can run around and play, make dens, look at the stars in their PJs, play games and experience a wholesome traditional family holiday (without technology!), and a holiday that they will remember... The Summerhouse has undergone a spruce up and up style in 2019, freshly painted, new items of vintage furniture and with all the carpets professionally cleaned. Check out my sister chalet, newly renovated for the 2017 season, The Wendy House', can be booked together for larger group gatherings...stunning! It is also perfect for a romantic getaway for two...or just bliss for one! From November 1st until March 1st The Summerhouse turns into 'The Winter Cabin', faux fur throws, hand crochet blankets and the chalet dressed for winter. Magical for children, or a complete escape from the rat race for adults. Winter is a very special time to visit, desolate beaches, great pubs with open fires and not forgetting the thousands of geese that migrate to this area. Winter walks and rosy cheeks. The 'Winter Cabin', is on a very quiet site, you may be the only people who are in residence...this may not suit everyone, it is very dark! I love it as it all adds to the adventure and...you can see the stars. The chalet is heated by plug in electric oil heaters and is very snuggly...any questions please ask
Very quiet family owned site but with easy access to shops, bakery, butcher, great pubs, amazing beaches...and I mean amazing beaches and all that this part of Norfolk has to offer.
  • Cute, Cosy and welcoming little chalet in a tucked away corner of Heacham. An unusual holiday venue.

Pad barefoot across earthen tiles with underfloor heating. The Old Laundry is in countryside on a family estate with parkland, close to a listed 19th-century dovecote. The open-plan living area is in a just-converted small barn, with Morso wood-burning stove (logs provided), pamment floors with underfloor heating and two flat-screen TVs, the large one has netflix and both have freeview . It is finished to a very high standard and is a lovely mix of old and new: a contemporary kitchen with an electric Everhot range cooker, microwave and dishwasher, opening to a dining and seating area with a beautiful wooden beam. It sleeps four in two upstairs bedrooms in new pocket-sprung beds, one double, one super-king that can transform into twin beds, made up with White Company bedlinen. There is a shower/bathroom upstairs and a loo downstairs. Wifi is ADSL 2 (c17mbps).
The Old Laundry is set in farmland where horses and sheep graze. It's in the lively, history-rich village of North Elmham which has an excellent cafe, shop, and two pubs. A network of footpaths begins at the doorstep and the small lanes nearby are perfect for cycling. Guests frequently return to explore Norfolk's beautiful coast, stately homes, market towns, Norwich, and many attractions (featured in Mark and Hetty's guidebook), which include, for children, Pensthorpe's adventure playground.
  • A perfect weekend away - a really lovely place to stay. Mark and Hetty made us feel very welcome, and it was a lovely space to relax and be unashamedly lazy! Some good pubs and walks close by, or if you don’t feel like going out, it’s great for a cosy night in.

  • We had a lovely stay at The Old Laundry! Mark and Hetty greeted us on arrival and showed us around. They were exceptionally helpful with recommendations ahead of time. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed - they even stocked the fridge with eggs and milk and bread and butter. So thoughtful! Even equipped with a toy wooden train set and games for our 4 year old! Couldn’t have asked for anything more. We hope to come back again soon!!

    Allison2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great and peaceful time here. Mark and Hetty are very thoughtful hosts. We cooked many big meals in their fully stocked kitchen. Cooking using their everhot was also super fun for slow cooked stews!

    Taylor2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Laundry is a wonderful place to rest and relax. The space is beautiful, warm, stylish, peaceful, and cozy. It was the perfect base from which to explore the local sights. Mark and Hetty were very friendly and helpful hosts who made delicious fresh bread and marmalade for breakfast and had excellent recommendations for places to explore and eat. I look forward to visiting again!

    Christine2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Hetty were amazing hosts. They ensured they were there on our arrival, they had fresh bread waiting for us as well as homemade marmalade. They were available before our trip to give advice on local places to eat, as well as them having an online guide and a folder in the property. Such a lovely couple and a lovely place to stay. Look forward to going back. Faye & Tim

There is a well-supported sailing club here and in the summer at high tide there's always a crowd of people and boats jostling to get onto the water. The sea still gives a living to many in the area though and Brancaster Staithe is famed for its mussels, which may be bought locally at The Fish Shed or directly from Mervyn's Mussels along the coast road. From the harbour you can take a short ferry trip (at high tide) to Scolt Head Island, a four mile long sand bar housing a National Nature Reserve well-known for terns, oystercatchers, and ringed plovers. The village is a picturesque one, with typical flint walling on many cottages, and popular with second home owners and holiday makers. There is good beer and food available throughout the day at the Jolly Sailor's pub, or for more of a treat with stunning views and delicious food there's the White Horse overlooking the marshes.Next to Brancaster Staithe is Burnham Deepdale which has a Norman church, a visitors centre and a good selection of shops, including a small supermarket, petrol station, Fat Face and Gone Crabbing. After a brisk walk on the beach or an invigorating sail there's nothing better than a trip to the popular Deepdale Café, renowned for its hearty English breakfasts.

  • A lovely large and clean family house. Amazing garden. Great location; 5 mins to the pub and 10 mins to the shop on foot. Beaches 20 mins away. Excellent value for money and our host, Corinne, was brilliant, responded to all messages straight away and couldn’t have done enough for us. We were 4 adults and 4 kids and there was more than enough room for all of us. Great to have use of a washing machine and plenty of spare linen. Bathroom was lovely - spotless and nice to have a separate bath and shower.

At its centre is a large village green surrounded by striking Queen Anne and Georgian buildings, with 2 churches that lie at each end of its broad main street. Unlike many other English towns which are dominated by multiples, Burnham Market has a traditional post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop, fish shop and chemist for all the necessities of everyday life, but there are also over 30 highly original independent and specialist shops, selling a wide range of exciting deli products, vibrant and stylish accessories for home and garden, smart clothes shops, and books old and new. There are some great places to eat, the best being the renowned Hoste Arms which is a 17th Century old coaching house and is open all day. As a result Burnham Market attracts many celebrities and cosmopolitan visitors, getting very crowded in the holiday periods, earning the nickname “Chelsea-on-Sea.” There is an annual summer music festival with professional musicians entertaining residents and holiday makers in various venues such as the lovely church of Burnham Westgate at the western edge of the village. From the end of November the village is beautifully lit with Christmas lights and it makes the perfect place to visit for Christmas shopping.

  • Great location and beautiful little cottage. Well equipped with everything you could need and the open fireplace in the lounge was just wonderful. I would keep in mind as it's a character property it does have lower doors ways and a steep staircase, not a problem for us though. Also Burnham Market is a great place for foodies and is only 15mins away from a great beach for dogs. Highly recommended.

We have 5 friendly Mups n Pups! Fireman's Cottage was built in 1623 and sits in the grounds of Hunstanton Hall and Park. The grounds are only open to the public on Thursdays and even then people must be on foot and keep to the top roadway. A 14th Century moat runs through the garden, separating the cottage from Hunstanton Hall Tranquility in an idyllic location! Such peace and quiet to hear and see wildlife: Muntjac deer, Buzzards, Owls etc The Norfolk coast is a big draw for birdwatching
PLEASE READ carefully :) ... Within these historic walls reside 5 friendly, furry DOGS/pups. Because we are aware that our communal hallways/landings are dog/puppy runways and therefore far from immaculate, we are not fussy about people entering these areas in their shoes; nor do we wish to be judged as such, especially as we are forewarning people. If a completely spotless environment is what you require, then our humble abode will not suit your style :) This is very much a traveller's place for rest and respite, a living home, not a glamourous hotel. The Eves bedroom is on the 2nd floor which has a lovely view through the velux window. The room has a Kingsize bed, single wardrobe for hanging space and drawer space in bedside tables. There are two solid oak high stools to sit and look out of the window as well as a small armchair underneath a reading spotlight. There is also a desk and computer table where a laptop could be used. There are no kitchen/cooking facilities but a fridge and electric kettle are provided along with cups and saucers and drinking glasses, and the use of a microwave could be made available along with dishes and cutlery, but the guest(s) would be responsible for their own washing-up. A sponge-cloth, washing liquid and a teatowel are provided in the bathroom. The bathroom is next door to the bedroom for the sole use of the guest(s). There is a DVD player and we can offer a small selection of films etc to borrow. We can also provide some board games which can be requested upon arrival (Scrabble, Backgammon, Monopoly etc). Because of the nature of the location, guests must respect the privacy of the other properties and residents and not go wandering around. Please take note again: 5 friendly dogs live here. We can accommodate a guest dog with prior discussions, because of our gang and the bedroom generally being kept dog-free:) 1 mile walk to the beach, door to dunes. Motorbikes and bicycles can be securely parked
Although the area is named as Hunstanton Park, it is privately owned by the Le Strange Estate, who equally own Old Hunstanton beach. There are a few residents in the surrounding dwellings who, like us, own their own properties including sections of the roadway, it is the woods and farmland that the Estate own. There is an incredible amount of fascinating history surrounding the area. The village of Old Hunstanton originates from the 13th Century. It is divided by the coast road. The Cottage being on the side of the original village, duck pond, 14th Century Church and the Hall of course. The village has places to eat and drink:- Caley Hall Hotel, The Lodge, The Ancient Mariner, Le Strange Arms Hotel and The Neptune (Michelin star restaurant). There is also the Post Office/village shop and The Old School Hairdressers/Barbers and Beauticians. The beach is approximately 15 minutes walk from door to the dunes across the golf course. There is the lovely Old Boat Cafe by the beach, opposite the RNLI station Old Hunstanton beach is fantastic for sunsets, walks and joins onto the RSPB sanctuary and Nature Reserve.. The Victorian town of Hunstanton is just round the corner, with local shops, supermarkets, garage and services etc.
  • Lifesaving booking after last minute cancellation due to places shutting down. Lovely and quiet location...would stay again.

  • 100% recommend. Location is quiet and picturesque, very near a little village with good bus connections. Rosetta and Gary are amazing hosts, putting chocolates and hot drink sachets in our room, giving us local information, and providing us with plates and cutlery when we asked. The bedroom was lovely, with a fridge, kettle, mugs, and a very very comfortable bed. The bathroom facilities (especially the shower) were great. The pups are adorable and friendly and very soft and love attention from guests. I would emphasise that the communal areas do have quite a bit of dog hair and mud from the pups, but the bedroom and bathroom are kept a staircase away and in sparkling condition. We loved our stay and will definitely come again!

  • An accurate description but it doesn’t do justice to this pretty cottage set in private gardens. The room is cosy and the en-suite bathroom clean and very well stocked. Such a friendly welcome by my hosts and their lovely little pack of gentle dogs.

    Justin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a fabulous base to stay, lovely location and everything in the room you could want. Absolute privacy and no expectation to socialise with the host which I really like.

  • If you want a cosy, comfortable room and a warm reception upon arrival, look no further.

  • Delightful cottage, one of several in a lovely private location close to all the amenities available in Thornham. There's a super large field that leads to the deli/cafe where they welcome dogs and have an amazing menu with delicious food. The cottage is in a very quiet off street location, it was very windy when we stayed but we didn't hear a thing. Safe for our two dogs to be off lead too. Very clean, comfy bed, hot bath, well stocked kitchen and lovely welcome basket for humans and dogs; what more could you ask for :) Thornham is a great location and has three pubs and two cafes all within safe walking distance. All very dog friendly, even on a wet and must day! Thank you Corrine, we will be back!

  • The Old Bakery is a wonderful place to stay. Really cute little village with the beach just down the road and a great pub (The Ship) even closer. A welcome pack including coffee pods, tea, milk, water and lemon cake was a really nice touch, very much appreciated as we arrived on a very wet and windy afternoon. The property is inviting and cosy yet also stylish. From the Nespresso machine to the Dualit kettle to the GHD hairdryer to the Designers Guild linens, attention has been paid to every detail. The property was exceptionally clean with plenty of fluffy towels provided. Caroline was a great host, excellent communication and absolutely lovely in person. We would definitely stay here again.

It is close to a number of walks directly from the door ( including to the massive beach) and it is also only a short walk to a good pub that has very good food. It was our first time in north Norfolk and would wholly recommend the cottage and the area.

  • A warm welcome awaits you when you arrive Brancaster Bakery Cottage . Caroline and Nic are very friendly hosts, whose accommodation is beautiful, having been tastefully renovated to a very high standard. They have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible; the bed and pillows are extremely comfortable , the shower is amazing and all the little extra touches they include make your stay that extra bit special. I would most certainly recommend this accommodation. It’s location was perfect too !

A cool and contemporary conversion of an old boathouse with a pretty courtyard garden and parking, just a short walk from Wells quay and the centre of this bustling little seaside town. This stylish hideaway, a favourite with our guests, is set in a quiet and peaceful location yet is only a short walk to all the pubs, restaurants and shops. Although small in size, this 'cute as a button' property delivers in bucket loads. With quality fixtures and fittings throughout and a stylish vibe, this little gem is a great place to stay all-year round. With most of the accommodation on the first floor, you have the added benefit of a parking space for a medium sized vehicle in the garage beneath the living area - a rarity in Wells! This bijou detached property allows couples to enjoy plenty of privacy too, with a pretty sheltered courtyard garden to the rear, which is ideal for enjoying a morning coffee and reading the newspaper or dining alfresco on warmer days. Additional Information Sorry no pets. Sorry, no children. Although there is a garage, it is only possible to park a medium-size family car inside the garage due to the narrow road. Larger/estate cars will have difficulty accessing due to the lack of turning space. Please note that the walkway to the side of the property which provides access is narrow. Ground Floor: Entrance hall With limestone flooring and stairs leading to first floor. Shower room Shower, wash basin and WC Utility room/garage Utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. First Floor: Open plan living area Living area Light and airy room with oak flooring, velux windows and french doors onto a Juliette style balcony. Sofa, television with FreeSat and DVD player, CD player/iPod dock unit. Outside: To the rear of the property there is a pretty courtyard garden with paved area and a table and seating for two, plus a barbecue. The garage will only accommodate one medium size car due to the narrow street in front of the garage and turning area.

  • Terri's place has everything you could need for a lovely stay by the beach, it was so warm and the bed was really comfortable. The facilities are excellent too and the cabin has real character and enough space to stay in if the weather isn't great. We had the best time, Wells is a lovely place, and Terri was the perfect host.

  • A lovely stay. 😊 The cabin is much more spacious than we thought, plenty warm enough too, even in a few cold nights as our stay was in March. Sizeable kitchen area was great to make our own meals in. A very comfy bed too, with clean and warm warm shower. Terri was lovely and welcoming, providing a few nice touches with tea, coffee and some milk in the fridge when we arrived. Great location too with Co-op just over the road to grab essential supplies. Ideally located for strolling down into town, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of centre. We will be back soon 👌
