  • Pheasants pecking away on the lawn outside and tawny owls hooting in the trees. As cosy, quiet and comfortable a hideaway as you will ever find. Can’t wait to return.

  • Very nice stay "at the cabin" hyper close to the beach, real impression of vacation, host attentive, small but the essential is there. Perfect for visiting Dorset.

  • Amazing stay, and in the most perfect location. Full of character and all you need.

  • Quirky little glamping experience. My wife and I had fun ! Thanks Humphrey

  • Lovely host and amazing location well worth a visit

    Jack2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really pleased with our stay at the cabin, cosy and warm despite the inclement weather outside!

    Alison2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin is a lovely place to stop - perfect for a pair or solo traveller looking for an indoor place to rest. Situated at the end of a garden, it is a secluded spot that is a restful way to spend an evening. Humphrey was very accommodating - made sure I could get in, had turned the heating on, set the heated blanket (!) up to come on in the evening, provided tea, coffee, breakfast and fruit. Bed was very comfy, shower was decent, and enough space to feel cosy while still having enough space to move around. Kitchen was well equipped. The local pub was just down the road and served up good food. Highly recommend if passing through Seatown.

  • Lovely, cosy cabin in a stunning location. You can hear the waves while you're falling asleep. Fab set up with cooker and shower, thoughtful supplies (milk, tea, orange juice etc.) Absolutely beautiful location with great pub next door!

A friendly welcome into our warm and cosy log cabin set in the cherry orchard along with the use of our spa with the big Jacuzzi and Sauna. The Cabin is set in a lovely cherry orchard in a coastal village on a quiet and historic lane with views of the cliffs. We have had literally hundreds of happy guests who all enjoy the peace and tranquility of our cherry orchard. It is set within the village and so very near great pub/restaurants and shop. It really is a cabin in the orchard!
Enjoy the highly insulated and toasty warm cabin in winter, or lie in the Orchard under the trees. The cabin is 7m x 4m, and you can Barbecue, and visit the Beach and experience the fine local pubs that serve great food and ale. There are 3 pubs within walking distance! Explore the Majestic Cliffs of the Jurassic coast you may even encounter a fossil if you're lucky. Discover BRIDPORT known as “foodie heaven” tasting lots of local cuisine, visit picturesque Lyme Regis and enjoy getting blown off the famous cob. Excellent opportunities for outdoor sports with ample walking, running and cycling trails. Note you are really close to nature i.e. the odd bird and spider make their presence felt as it really is a log cabin in an orchard :-)
The famous Jurassic Coast of Dorset has been awarded World Heritage Site status. The Dorset and East Devon coastline where countless fossils have been found is a remarkable place. The coast includes the highest point on the south coast right here at Seatown of Golden Cap and the historic nearby resort of Lyme Regis. If you like food we are situated in a Foodie heaven, and Bridport will hopefully ring a bell… it is home to the original River Cottage where Hugh started his quest of local, home grown and foraged stuff. Love food, love West Dorset! You'll find fantastic produce grown in the area and that chefs did not wait for celebrities to tell them to cook local. Take the Riverside two-course meal from £16.50 in West Bay, Bridport's harbour. Bang in the middle of this unpretentious fishing harbour, it looks like a large wooden hut sitting on the river Brit. Fish is the speciality, of course, straight from Lyme Bay. Also the Anchor Pub in Burton, for great food, and the Three Horseshoes... Another good place to enjoy fresh seafood is the Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock also fantastic. These guys are committed to local. There's something tasty for all purses.
  • Warm and cosy cabin. Handy information for the local area and a hot tub too.

    Liz2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous space, perfect for what we wanted and the hot tub was an excellent bonus. William very helpful and flexible to our late check in time. Very much enjoyed

    Amelia2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Orchard was absolutely perfect. The place was very clean and tidy, it was just the most beautiful tiny house experience. The facilities were top notch. Really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna, everything was really good quality and great hospitality from William. got a great massage from Tanya, she was so lovely and hospitable too. Location was fantastic too, a short walk from the beach and lovely countryside walks nearby. The place was really quiet, peaceful & zen, it was lovely to see squirrels running around the trees and owls tooting at night! will definitely be coming back again in the future!

    Catherine2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had an absolutely amazing stay at Will's cabin. Complete flexibility with use of hot tub and sauna. Had a fantastic full body massage from Tanya. Lovely guy. Would 100% recommend.

    Elizabeth2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Me and a friend had a lovely stay at Will's cherry orchard cabin. Great location with just a short walk to the beach for a wonderful hilly walk. There cabin was cosy and warm. The hot tub and sauna was a brilliant added extra. Would definitely come again

    Laura2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Super sweet, perfect for a little holiday. The village, the walks, the beach... everything around it is beautiful. Highly recommended.

    Ricardo2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cosy cabin in a great location, within walking distance to the coast. The Spa has a hot tub and sauna for you to use which is an added bonus. There is also an option to pay for a massage from Tanya, a holistic therapist. My partner chose to have a full body massage and was really pleased she did! Bridport is approx a 10 minute drive and has all shopping facilities that you will need, with all the different supermarkets. There are several nice pubs close by which do really nice food. The George is at the bottom of the drive, a 2 minute walk which does great food and has local beer on tap. Will was a great host and provided everything we needed, including extra glassware, etc. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to others.

    Nathan2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very relaxing perfect for a little getaway from the busy city. Just a walk to the beach with an amazing view. The pubs suggested were wonderful as well. William was a very helpful host. He answered my messages quickly. Hospitality at its best!

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE At present we are unable to take bookings. Please check back with us later in the year. The Old Bakery is a completely self-contained, separate, and secluded apartment with its own entrance, located off the street and at the back of our house. Walking distance from Bridport town centre, it is a perfect haven for a relaxing break.
The flat will surprise you with its lovely sense of space. The garden room faces due east and is light and sunny - perfect for a morning yoga practice (mats provided)! It also has a single day bed, sofa, dining table, and satellite TV. There is a small, completely separate bedroom with a comfortable double bed, plus a bathroom (bath and shower) and a spacious, fully equipped open-plan kitchen: electric cooker with extractor hood, microwave, toaster, fridge and radio, plus another small dining table. There isn't a washing machine but if you are staying for a week or longer we can arrange for you to use the one in the main house. There are washing lines in the yard for drying clothes or wet camping gear, and a safe place to put bicycles overnight. We can provide a single mattress to put down on the lounge floor if you want to bring a fourth guest, and we also have a cot bed for very small children. All bed linen and towels are provided. There is a good wifi connection throughout the flat, and a mobile phone signal, but no land-line telephone. The French windows face onto the small garden area/patio, which is still under construction.
Bridport is as very popular holiday destination, being located as it is within the beautiful Jurassic Dorset coastal area. It is possible to walk to West Bay with its scenic harbour and promenade, or to drive to many other nearby places such as Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Weymouth and Dorchester. There is a twice weekly street market, a small and very interesting museum, an arts centre, the Lyric Theatre (especially good for childrens' events) and the Electric Palace cinema (more live events than film these days), together with a lively community of artists and craftspeople. We also have a vintage market on the last Sunday of the month. Bridport is also host to a film festival, the Bridport Prize for literature, a literary festival and a hat festival - in addition to the annual carnival in August!
  • Jude and Will were very nice and catered to all our need. The place was also lovely.

    Britney2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third visit. A hidden gem with little extras. Comfortable and convenient location. Will and Jude certainly are Super Hosts.

  • Lovely place to stay..walking distance to town, great hosts..oh and fabulous dogs. Jude and Will are very friendly and generous with their welcome pack. Spacious kitchen and living room with lots of appliances. All you could need. Would recommend staying here if visiting Bridport. Thank you for a lovely few days away!

    Karen2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Will and Jude were great hosts and the accommodation was perfect for two plus a dog. Great location for the town and coast at West Bay and great dog walks in the countryside.

    Nick2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • That value and flexible, laid back hosts. We have stayed twice now and will be back.

    Sarah2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cosy and attractive one bed ground floor apartment at the rear of a period house just a short step from central Bridport. Pluses - very well equipped kitchen, pleasant neutral decor, you could just walk in and feel at home, lovely and warm (I visted in Januaryl) Minuses - street parking in short supply, access through the garage which when I visited was full of bicycles. So you may need a torch. Hosts are charming, friendly dog.

Bridport is about a mile and a half and we are a half mile walk from the Broadchurch coast. The studio enjoy's unlimited Wi Fi ,TV .
A unique private space with everything you could need to enjoy a break near the Broardchurch coast.
We are a short walk from the Broadchurch coast. In fact the house was in the first trailer for the program. The market town of Bridport is about a mile and a half away and has a thriving saturday market and antiques area.
  • This space is so delightful. It’s a flat above a garage. Was warm and comfy. There is off street parking and kitchen facilities. Vicki is a great host!

    Nicola2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Easy access, a very patient and accommodating host. Thoughtful touches concerning dietary requirements. Convenient location, private off-street parking, warm and comfortable, plenty of amenities. A little noise from proximity to road, otherwise, very quiet at night.

  • Fantastic stay with a phenomenal host. Highly recommended.

  • A little gem with all the amenities and only a short walk to the beach.

    Richard2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I was really surprised at quite how stylish and cosy this studio apartment was. We only stayed a night, as we were attending a wedding, but would of happily stayed a week in this self-contained accommodation. Vicki's communication was really good.

    Sean2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect location, just a quick walk from West Bay. Lovely cosy converted garage with everything you could need. Wonderfully comfortable beds and sofa. The inside felt much larger than we had expected, with full kitchen and shower. There was milk in the fridge, and a bottle of wine which was very much appreciated. Lovely stay. Will definitely stay again next time we fancy a bit of fossil hunting.

    Richard2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my two children stayed for two nights over half term. Vicki’s place was easy to find and within walking distance of West Bay. The space was really comfortable and had everything we needed. We would stay there again.

Hygge garden cabin with lovely views. No cars or buildings in sight. At night you’ll drift off to lowing cows and tinkling stream. Walk through our unspoilt village of Swyre, to the beach where you can hop in the sea or simply admire the Jurassic coast. To fill a rainy day, try eating all that foodie Dorset has to offer or head to a pub for a Palmers ale, before staggering home to snuggle in front of a blazing fire. The cabin is nestled at the foot of our house. It faces into a meadow beneath.
The bathroom has a rain fall shower and underfloor heating. The kitchen is fine for chilling your wine, making a cuppa and toasting your tea cakes! For top notch grub, there are pubs within walking distance. The ceiling is quite low (193cm/6ft4 at the lowest point), so the tallest amongst you will, I'm afraid, want to remain seated or lying down (!) The garden is shared with us. Neighbouring garden also has room for two more guests at The Snug, coming soon but not yet listed on Airb&b. I'm morally opposed to ironing bedsheets-well ironing anything to be honest. All sheets will be washed beautifully and line-dried but may have the odd wrinkle. Please note that we do not have any cooking facilities, nor do we have any intention of getting any because we don't have the time to clean them and because I know they can make a place smell!
Our beautiful village of Swyre is unspoilt and largely unknown by holiday makers heading for the coast. Our nearest beach is therefore pretty quiet, even on the busiest bank holiday, especially if you can walk 1.5 miles through the fields.
  • Absolutely perfect stay, beautiful cabin-took our breath away when we walked in. Such lovely touches like fresh baked bread delivered to your door in the morning and the fire lit for when we arrived. Perfect location for exploring nearby towns like west bay , Bridport and Lyme Regis. Amazing view to wake up to, so tranquil and relaxing, we will definitely return!

    Hannah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant stay. Everything as described, hosts great. Fresh bread for breakfast was a nice touch. Perfect location for walks to beach and afar.

    Julia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place to escape for a weekend. Such a great space and within walking distance of the sea. Amazing hospitality and even got some freshly baked bread in the morning.

    Alexander & Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely lovely. We didn't want to leave! The beautiful views of rolling hills and sheep, the wood fire, the freshly baked bread brought to us by the lovely hosts in the morning, sheepskin rugs and candles... Heaven on long winter mornings and evenings. Very close to the beach and some beautiful walks. Could have stayed here for far longer than we did!

    Leilia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely beautiful - it’s really got that wow factor, especially with the amazing log burner. Impressive bathroom with a rainforest shower. Fresh bread in the morning was a lovely gesture and we also had crisps, butter, jam, milk, fudge and mince pies laid out for us. Couldn’t recommend enough!

    Ellen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful two night stay in this fabulous cabin. So cosy, clean and a perfect place to unwind. The fresh bread in the morning is a lovely touch! If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be booking another stay.

    Emily2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Would not hesitate to recommend this property. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay over xmas, the photos don't do it complete justice, the property and surrounding area is even better than we expected - particularly as we arrived late on xmas eve, to find the log fire already lit, ready for us. As wonderful as the property is, the hosting still managed to stand out further. Kitty maintained good regular contact prior to arriving and was really helpful with a problem we had on the website. Throughout the stay, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel like family, rather than guests, by Magnus. On top of a number of festive treats left for us, we were even provided with fresh home-made bread on xmas day! Our only negative was having to leave. This property and the hosting sets a standard that most won't get close to. Thanks both!

    Ali2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin. The pictures do not even do it justice. Peaceful and beautifully arranged. The log burner was a dream on a cold winter's evening! Kitty brought freshly baked bread the next morning.

Cosy cottage in a tucked away position. This Grade 2 listed cottage is small but perfectly formed. Completely refurbished with new kitchen and bathroom and with everything you could need for your holiday home. New for winter - cosy woodburning stove.
This quirky listed cottage is part of a row of former ropemakers' homes and we think it's at least 200 years' old. It is very cosy with a separate lounge and small kitchen downstairs. There's a wood burning stove in the lounge (as well as full central heating) to make winter nights extra cosy. On the first floor there's a bathroom with shower and the master bedroom. On the second floor, under the eaves, is another double bedroom with two single beds. There's a tiny garden out front and great walks from the front door: head out for a lovely walk up Allington Hill and beyond and it is an easy, flat walk to Bridport high street (about 10 mins). The cottage is fully equipped without being cluttered and has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Please note the cottage is tucked down a short walkway and there isn't a dedicated parking space - so cars park on the road in Diments Gardens or nearby.
  • Beautiful little cottage with everything you need.

  • Lovely place near Sennen beach. Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed dinner at the Old Success Inn - great ambiance and menu. Easy access to lands end but we just took photos at the welcome sign- not prepared to pay £12.50 just for a photo with the sign . We visited the merry maidens and the prehistoric grave towards Penzance. An interesting visit but clearly not done by many

  • Really lovely place, clean tidy and lovely touches from Liz

    Debs2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Liz's annexe because we needed somewhere to stay while visiting family in Dorset. It was everything we were looking for and more. A gorgeous little bolt-hole, self-contained and very bijou but perfect for a couple and our dog! We were staying over the Christmas period and Liz really thoughtfully decorated the place including a Christmas tree! We enjoyed two gorgeous walks on close-by West Bay beach; one in complete sunshine and one in rain and hail. We have already booked it again for our next visit to Dorset!

One room on top floor with ensuite, in the heart of Bridport. Comfortable super king size bed with en-suite (toilet & bath).
Our space is quite quirky with lots of paintings on the walls. It's a very old cottage so creaky floorboards and flagstone floors. We renovated it a few years ago - there are a few skirting boards that still need painting!
Seconds walk from great pubs and cafes & range of shops, in the heart of Bridport.
  • Angie and Pete were very welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean. Tea, fresh milk, plates and cutlery in the room were a nice touch. Nice en-suite. Very good location in centre of town yet room - being at the back - was quiet.

    Keith2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Angie’s too floor room is a perfect place for visiting Bridport. She is well-connected with local life and is a welcoming host. The accommodation is everything you might need and close to everything else.

  • Great location, right in the centre of Bridport. Room is on a second floor at the back of the house which meant it was quiet. Angi and her family was very welcoming.

  • Couldn't have been better. I got to Bridport late, but communication had been great and there was a warm welcome waiting. Great quirky attic space in a beautiful home packed to the rafters with art, warmth and love. Great tips about the town. Really laid back. Thoughtful coolbag of teas, coffees, milk and biscuits - just what I needed after a long journey.

A beautifully presented fully self-contained annexe situated in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Bridport. We are located on the edge of Bothenhampton Nature Reserve. Great walking area and only 1.6 miles away from West Bay and 1.2 miles from the centre of Bridport.
The Annexe is light and airy, with a large living area, cosy bedroom and shower room with shampoos, hair dryer and towels all provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker and hob, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Teas, coffee and continental breakfast provided. You step out onto a patio area overlooking a secluded garden. It is peaceful, quiet and in an excellent location to enjoy walking and exploring the area. It is all newly refurbished and furnished to a high standard. Please note that our location and situation can affect WiFi strength.
The house is situated in a quiet area just on the outskirts of Bridport and only a 10-15 minute walk from a thriving market town famous for rope and net making dating back centuries. The town with restaurants, pubs and a variety of craft shops and outlets has a busy and friendly vibe. We are about a 1 mile from the picturesque harbour at West Bay with restaurants and beaches which is central to the famous Jurassic coast. There are some fabulous walks right on the doorstep.
  • Absloutly outstanding clean and comfortable place to stay great location.. Linda &Peter are great hosts and all little touches are amazing.. home from home.. cant do enough for you.. We had a lovely stay .. we shall definatly be back.. The shower is amazing, the kitchen has everything you need.. the whole place is so cosy and comfortable.

  • Beautiful annex, really friendly warm welcome.

    (Marie) Clare2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • A really great place to stay. We stayed for four nights and found the annex to be just right for us. It was clean, warm, well equipped and in a really nice quiet location 20 minutes walk from West Bay or the centre of Bridport. Communication with our hosts was excellent and the supplies of breakfast, tea, coffee and milk were a nice touch. We would highly recommend this as a base for a stay in the Bridport area.

    Malcolm2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic short break staying in the Annexe. It was easy enough to find the property using the directions sent over by Pete, plenty of parking on the driveway. Lovely welcome from Pete who took me round the annexe and showed my how everything worked. The annexe itself is stylish, spacious and very clean. Breakfast hamper is always a lovely touch. Prime location for exploring the Dorset countryside, particularly worth heading over to Burton Bradstock, West Bay and Lyme Regis. I’ll definitely be returning on my next Dorset adventure!

    Sam2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay in The Annexe and once again we were very comfortable and well provided for. The Annexe is lovely; beautifully clean and nicely furnished, with milk and some food items left for us. Peter welcomed us when we arrived and afterwards he and Linda provided that great balance of allowing us privacy but with the assurance we could contact them at any time if we had any queries or needed help. The location is ideal for us; Bridport within walking distance, pretty villages and other areas to explore and some lovely walks. The break provided us with much needed relaxation and a breath of sea air. We shall be back.

    Stephen2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was infact a SUPER HOST! The hamper was a lovely touch. Ste our fabricator enjoyed his stay and said himself it was ''So much better than a hotel, a home from home whilst away with work'' Thankyou again!

    Graham2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Well, where to start? I booked a few days away for my wife's birthday last year and absolutely fell in love with the place (there's another review further down the page from that visit). Just like last time, travelling barely a few hundred yards off the A35 and into Bothenhampton is akin to entering another world. Time slows down, noise of cars & lorries hurtling down the main road behind you quickly fades into the chirping of birds, and all of a sudden you feel a release as the stress of town life floats from you like a balloon. Once again Pete and Linda have been marvellous hosts. We had a good long chat on the way about how they've done over the past year, and were surprised to hear that we were their first returning guests. The apartment was just as we remembered it, with the only major change being that a slimline dishwasher now sits in the kitchen. Super handy as our evenings were even more relaxed without having to worry about the washing up. Again we had all the things we could have wanted for breakfast and more, fresh bread, butter & jam, cereal, granola, even a box of eggs. Most welcome was a bottle of Hobgoblin, and pre-mixed gin & tonic keeping the milk company in the fridge, suffice to say they were much appreciated that evening! It's little thoughtful touches like this that make a stay extra special, also things like the message halfway through our stay just to check that everything's okay with the apartment and if we needed any more bread and milk. In conclusion, if bright lights and city noise are your thing then go find a travelodge (I'd also ask what on earth you're doing in Bridport). If however you're looking for peace and quiet, if you enjoy looking out of the window at night to see stars rather than the incandescent glow of street lamps, yet want to be within a short walk of both the town centre and the south west coast path, then The Annexe is perfect.

    Sam2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Linda and Peters annexe and felt instantly at home as soon as Peter welcomed us in. The space itself is very cosy and was spotlessly clean and fresh with everything you need for a great stay. Linda and Peter also left some lovely extras in the kitchen which were much appreciated, and stocked the bathroom with toiletry essentials. We also found the location great being half way between Weymouth and Lyme Regis, and would recommend the Bothenhampton nature reserve walk on the doorstep, which has beautiful views over West Bay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to others.

Cosy toes is a small but perfectly formed cabin, we are situated in a quiet estate on the fringes of the historic market town of Bridport. We are a 15 minute walk from the working harbour of West Bay, which, of course, is where the award winning drama "Broadchurch " was filmed, it has plenty of good eating establishments and quaint shops. 15 minutes the other way is the bustling town of Bridport with its twice weekly markets as well as regular farmer markets, along with many local shops. The nearest pub is a 5 minute walk and the nearest supermarket is 2 minutes in the car. Nearby you have Lyme Regis, Weymouth and many other lovely places. The coastal paths offer you many magnificent view points.
I love living where I do as it is so quiet but you can literally walk 5 minutes to find fun and laughter in the local pubs and also we are surrounded by beautiful countryside, I love walking out my front door and looking across to the iconic trees on Colmers Hill, stunning.
  • Perfectly located only about 15 minutes to either West Bay or Bridport. The area is stunning and Tracy's place was a perfect little getaway. She was always fast to respond and we enjoyed our warm (cosy of course) little cabin.

  • My partner and I have just returned from a one nights stay for New Year in Tracy’s cabin. Tracy was a lovely host very friendly and welcoming. She recommended a local pub and even drove us there, then into town and back again, as we were unable to book a taxi. The cabin is beautifully kept, tastefully done and very warm and cosy as per the name. It is in an ideal location for West Bay and Bridport. We will definitely be back in the warmer weather.

I have recently brought this cosy little beamed mill cottage (1840) with an open plan front room and new fitted kitchen. It is above the river and overlooks fields and sheep out the back. There are beautiful walks close by. The nearest beach of west Bay is just over 1 mile away.It is 1 of 4 terraced cottages and is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the lovely market town of Bridport. It is a great base to explore the Jurrasic coast line, and if you are a walker you will love the location.
My home is small , comfotable and a little quirky! It is set back slightly from the A35 which is a busy road in the summer, but the back spare room is quiet as it is above the river and overlooks countyside. On the street parking can be found in the road opposite.
Bridport has some great eating places and cafe's. There is alot going on music and arts wise, especially at The Electric Palace, a wonderful art deco building. There is also an arts center and many great pubs. The shops are not all chain stores, which makes it an old fashioned town, with a great market on a Wednesday and Saturday. Lyme Regis is just 15 minutes derive

Mark and Julie are not only OK with you bringing your dog(s), they love it. They made us and Sam so welcome (even a little treat bowl in the bedroom, nice touch Mark) You get loads of space to relax, a well-stocked kitchen, and time for a natter. Mark and Julie, you are lovely hosts, we will be back!

  • I stayed at Julie and Mark's cottage the night before my short fossil hunting trip to Burton Bradstock's beach, and I couldn't have been treated better. Julie and Mark are wonderful hosts, they made me feel like at home, visiting some friends, although it was my first time to meet them. Place was sparkling clean, with much more than I needed for my short one night stay. It was nice to relax after my long drive there, having a glass of wine and a nice chat with this lovely couple, before to sleep. Room was great and comfy and the following morning the include breakfast was all I needed before to head to the beach. Thank you so much, surely I'll stay at yours whenever I decide to come again. And, btw I found some interesting fossils in the end :-) Paolo

Pier Terrace, one of many listed buildings within the historic harbour area of West Bay, enjoys a stunning location on the UNESCO World Heritage designated Jurassic Coast. 'Jurassic View', our cosy top-floor harbourside apartment offers beautiful sea and coastal views from every window. Just a short stroll from the beach and within easy reach of local shops, pubs and restaurants, the apartment is ideally situated for a relaxing stay in this breathtakingly scenic part of Dorset.
Steve and April offer you a warm welcome to 'Jurassic View'. The apartment comprises an entrance hall, lounge, kitchen/diner, double bedroom and bathroom with central heating throughout. There is a phone entry security system located in the hall. The fully-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob with extractor hood over, microwave oven and integrated fridge, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bathroom has a thermostatic shower over the bath, fed by a pressurised water system. The bedroom has a double bed and built-in wardrobe. There is a TV and audio system in the lounge, with free wireless internet throughout the apartment. Prices include all linen, towels and electricity.
The bustling harbour shelters a variety of small fishing boats, yachts and motorboats. A range of leisure trips and cruises is available from here. The nearby Jurassic Pier offers panoramic views of the coast stretching 100 miles from Portland in the East to Start Point in Devon, to the West. The grade 2 listed Customs House is now an Emporium with over a hundred traders offering unique gifts, collectables, memorabilia, designer furniture and much more. The quirky cafe, offering good food and refreshments in a relaxed, friendly environment, is a favourite of ours. Slader's Yard art gallery, housed in an old Georgian rope warehouse, shows varied exhibitions of contemporary British art and crafts. We always admire the unique hand-made wooden furniture, built using traditional boat-building techniques. The nearby Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club, situated on top of East Cliff, offers stunning clifftop views and scenery. The breathtaking 6th hole, perched on the cliff edge, has been voted one of the top 100 holes in the world! The nearby town of Bridport offers a wide range of shops and services. The twice-weekly street market has been a regular feature of life since 1253 when Henry III granted the town a Royal Charter. Bridport's Electric Palace, a beautiful Art Deco theatre retaining many of its original features, presents a varied programme of film, music , theatre and live entertainment. It's worth a visit just to admire the stunning murals! Palmer's Brewery, the only thatched brewery in England, offers a fascinating 2-hour tour of the brewery culminating in a tasting session. Available Easter until the end of October.
  • Lovely location and great little apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

    Mary2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful views of harbour and beach and everything you could want or need was provided in kitchen and comfy bed and very nice bottle of wine and biscuits and lovely area to walk round!

    Cliff2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy flat with everything you need. Fitted kitchen with pots, pans & crockery if you don’t go out to eat. Great powerful shower. Comfortable bed. Lovely gift of wine, biscuits & milk when we arrived too. West Bay isn’t the biggest place but there are some lovely pubs to visit & beautiful views. Shame we couldn’t get a booking at the Station Kitchen, that looks awesome. You must check out 100 Nautical, a micro pub, tucked away, but such a great find if you like craft ale, cider & they sell spirits too. Perfectly located near the South West coastal path. Be warned it’s uphill to start!! You can easily walk to Bridport too, along the old railway line. Bridport is a bustling town which had a vintage market on Saturday when we went. A lovely trip & lovely property.

    George2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, yards from the beach, harbour, and the cafe's and shops of West Bay. Our trip coincided with strorm Dennis and the apartment was a lovely, cosy refuge to retire to after a day in the elements. Very well equiped. Arrived to find some biscuits and wine which was a welcoming touch. All in all a very pleasant stay.

    Richard2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay in a perfect central location for exploring the Dorset coast and just a pleasant short stroll to one of the local pubs or bakery/ cafe. The beach and harbour are on the doorstep and the neighbours are friendly.

Lovely room for one or two adults, and a child. The room has a very comfortable double bed, and a vintage drop-arm sofabed which makes up into a sweet little single bed for a child. In case of allergies, we have pets- a cat, and guinea pigs. No TV, but good wifi. I work full-time and I'm a single parent, so our home is clean and functional but it's not hotel-quality; some of the furnishings and fittings will be a little tired (bath, I'm looking at you) but it's clean. longer stays are welcome.
My house is in a traffic-free street of listed townhouses a stone's throw from everything Bridport has to offer. I'd call it chic and basic, if that phrase wasn't already in use by a funky hotel chain : ) everything is there, it all works, and it's very comfortable and welcoming. Your room has a comfortable double bed with plenty of bedding and pillows so that you can get it just right. There's also a hot water bottle for you to use, and you'll also find books, plenty of plug points, a desk and the WIFI code waiting for you. the room also has a vintage sofa bed that wants to be a chaise longue when it grows up, that can provide a single bed for a child. There's coffee and tea in the kitchen, and I provide self-service breakfast foods in the kitchen for your use. There's a nutribullet if you like a smoothie in the morning, but you might need to get additional ingredients. Make yourself at home! There's no parking on the street, but the adjacent long-stay carpark is only £2.80 per day, and free after 6.30pm and on Sundays. There is a tiny back yard with seating and plants if you like to be outside.
Bridport is a vibrant little market town, with a street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, a fascinating vintage quarter and a regular vintage market and masses of lovely pubs and cafes. Our house is right in the centre of town, a few minutes walk from all facilities, the art centre, the Electric Palace, shops, restaurants and takeaways. The sea is a mile away at West Bay, and lovely countryside surrounds us. Walk books and maps are provided in the room for you to borrow. Our street is a very narrow no through road so there is no traffic, although you can drive up to unload if you want to.
  • Was a lovely stay, great location, such value to stay in a lovely cosy home. Thank you.

Your stay will be in a private modern home. The en-suite room being on the 1st floor, large and dual aspect - so spacious and bright, with own shower room and King size bed. Good free Wifi. Smart TV with Netflix. Continental breakfast provided in room. Plenty of parking. We are situated on the northern side amongst the Allington Hills. Feels very rural but is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Bridport. Westbay and the Jurrassic World Heritage coastline is 5 minute drive.
A large double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with power shower. A big family bathroom with a huge bath is situated next to guest room but with all children now grown and gone it is rarely used ! Also in the room is a small fridge containing fresh milk, yogurts and orange juice. We also provide cereals and muffins - so you may have breakfast at your leisure. There is desk space for a lap top or similar.
We are located minutes from Bridport. A peaceful private drive, but at the same time within very easy access to the town centre. With beautiful views over Allington, Coneygar and Colmers Hill and surrounding countryside.

  • An absolutely super place to stay. We stayed at Chris and Phil's a few months ago and it was top of our list when we returned to Bridport this time. As hosts they are so friendly; the accommodation is lovely and super clean; the price is inclusive of a very generous and tasty breakfast (as well as the cooked option there is plenty of cereal, yoghurt and fruit which you can have as well). It will be very difficult for visitors to Bridport to find a better place :-)

  • Our hosts made us more than welcome, and catered for a vegetarian, our room was spotless, ideally located or Lyme Regis, Charmouth, West Bay etc. Lovely lovely hosts, will definitely be going back in the summer.

Welcome to The Pond House! Nestled away at the end of the lane, on the cusp of country walks and soothing views, is where you'll find The Pond House. Just a short drive to the famously beautiful World Heritage Site of The Jurassic Coast and situated in Dorset's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Pond House is the perfect base to explore some of Dorset's most loved scenery. Max 2 dogs welcome, but please inform me beforehand. A £10 charge may be added at the end if there is extra cleaning.
The Pond House is located along a country lane that ends in a bridle path. There are no noisy main roads or constant through traffic and pollution to disturb your peace and quiet. You have your own detached space with your own parking and entrance. The bedroom and living area is a large studio space with a lovely old restored Villager woodburner facing the bed, so you can fall asleep to the sound of wood cracking away and the orange glow of cosiness. Huge glass doors and large double glazed windows fill the room with light and the view is into your own private garden with a big pond and seating area. This is a newly converted space that was once an old farm building with vast amounts of concrete. It has had new life breathed into it over the past year and the garden and pond are both new, with native trees and fruit trees planted in the hope that it will be a space enjoyed by visiting guests, wildlife, birds and aquatic creatures as the pond is discovered in the spring. The Pond House is rough around the edges and cosy where it counts. It is not luxury, it's cosy and designed as a space to be used by those who are looking for a quiet, relaxed countryside stay with no TV or WIFI. The Kitchen comes stocked with tea and coffee. There is a toaster, hot water, fridge with freezer, a 2 ring hob and saucepans etc. It's basic but has all you will need to cook simple meals. The bathroom is spacious and bright with a flushing toilet, hot water at the sink and an electric shower over a reclaimed bath. The bath does not function as a bath, only as a place to shower. There is an electric towel rail and towels are provided. Please be aware that the wood burner is the only heating in The Pond House. There is no central or electric heating - please be aware of this before you arrive so you are not disappointed. In winter the fire will be lit before you arrive so it will be nice and toasty and you can just relax. Matches and firelighters are provided. The first load of wood is included, if you require more you can purchase another load for £10 or purchase a bag of wood at the garden centre in Bridport. Please only burn wood, the Villager is NOT a multi-fuel burner and burning coal or other fuels may damage it.
We are a 10-15 minute drive from the seaside. West Bay is your closest beach, and it has plenty of places to eat, lots of fish and chip stalls and an old harbour full of boats. Drive west along the coast road and you'll find Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the Jurassic Coast, and Lyme Regis, the fossil capital of the UK and home to some wonderful restaurants. Lewesdon Hill, Dorset's highest hill, is just 5 minutes away by car. Once an Iron Age Hill Fort, it is covered in ancient beech and oak trees and filled with bluebells every spring. We highly recommend a visit and the views at the top will not disappoint. You have some of the best country walks straight from The Pond House. The Brit Valley Way will take you all the way to West Bay and the footpaths around Netherbury offer some gentle and some more challenging walks. For all your foodie needs look no further than Washingpool Farm Shop (which you may recognise from Broadchurch) where you will find the very best local produce to cook up a taste of country life. Bridport and Beaminster both have great restaurants and pubs and Bridport also has an antiques and food market every Wednesday and Saturday. There are many supermarkets too, takeaways and quiet corners to fill your spirits. We are very lucky to be a short walk from the Award Winning Furleigh Wine Estate. Pre-book for a tour of their vineyards and a tasting session of their fabulous British white wines. The Hare & Hounds pub is a 10-15 minute walk along the footpaths and does great beer and food. It's dog friendly and has a large garden.
  • Perfect vibe with beautiful aesthetics for a country getaway. Great farmshop, idilic coastal walks and quirky local pubs close by. Very helpful host!

Spend as many nights as you like in a bright airy double room only seconds from the bustling town centre of Bridport. Situated in a quiet friendly apartment complex. Car parking available. Owner also offers a taxi service at reasonable rate. The owner lives in.
Town centre location is handy for all local amenities. The room is great for either a single occupant or a couple. A child in their own cot could be accommodated. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook a meal or breakfast or just help yourself to the selection of breakfast items made available. Queenie, the dog, is a real feature of the experience - unobtrusive and brings a smile to everyones face... take her for a walk if you like! :) Please be aware that the flat is on the second floor. There isn't a lift.
Bridport is a lively market town and my flat is only one minute from the town centre so convenient walking distance for everything. The regular Wednesday and Saturday markets are a must for visitors. The proximity to the coast is a great attraction as is the countryside around the town. Festivals and cultural events take place all year round including literary and film festivals, hat festival, kite festival, country fetes, steam fairs, agricultural shows, food festivals, and many others.

  • This was a great place to stay! It is even better than listed. Sally was not home during our stay, and we enjoyed taking a quilt from our bed and curling up on the sofa in the lounge to watch television. Sally let us use the clothes washer in the kitchen, which was very helpful. Sally both emailed and telephoned to make sure everything was all right. The decor was lovely, and we felt completely comfortable.

  • Sally's home is warm and welcoming. The room is spacious, the mattress firm and comfy. There's off street parking and it's easy walking distance to the town centre. I only met Sally briefly but she's very nice and considerate. I shall definitely be staying again !

  • Rogers accommodation is just off the High Street of Bridport and close to all amenities. The garden is wonderful, mature and exhibiting a variety of adult fruit trees brimming with fruit. Conversation with guests and Roger is a must, I'm sure you could even jam with piano and guitar players if you so wished. A very relaxing and enjoyable few days.

    Chris2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Roger is a fantastic host. He is kind, thoughtful and caring. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him and the other folk I met at the Pomme D'or. I love the Jurassic Coast and Bridport couldn't be more central for exploring the area. It is a lovely market town with a Bohomian/Artisan atmosphere. I will be back!

    Helen2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a week for holidays in the Pomme d’Or and am now convinced that the house is in fact is a living being, its very nature is to heartily welcome guests, and Richard is taking good care of it. It was so easy to take the bus, get off here or there and walk for hours on the footpath along the coast. Each day I literally came home. Using the kitchen at night and enjoying a glass of wine in the garden is just brilliant!

    Johannes2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time in Roger's house. The location is perfect for either the city center or the countryside. The attic room is beautiful and you can enjoy really quiet nights. I would also recommend taking a look at the beautiful garden behind the house for a coffee in the morning sun. I totally recommend it!

    Marit Lena2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, quirky place to stay with huge amounts of character. We stayed in the attic which was very spacious, light and cosy. Slept very well. Roger supplied us with breakfast supplies so we could make our own breakfast. There is WIFI but no tv in the attic room although we were able to watch tv in another room. The town is 2 minutes away with lovely shops, coffee places and pubs to eat in. The walk to West bay is about 35-40 minutes down the old train line with yet more places to eat and places to walk. Roger made us very welcome. Such a pleasure.

    Jacqueline2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Roger's place for my friend Daniel to stay for a short-notice overnight in Bridport. Roger is a stained glass expert, the house is full of beautiful things, and Roger gimself is a wealth of information on Bridport's history. Daniel had a really comfortable, happy evening here and is only sad he did not have more time to explore. Roger's house is in an excellent, quiet, central location. Roger himself was extremely punctual and communicative. Thank you so much for making my friend's stay so enjoyable!

  • Fantastic. The space is great, even better than it looks in the pictures. Would definitely come back. Paul was a great host, really helpful and kind.

  • We had a lovely few days in Paul's place in Bridport. Paul was very welcoming and gave us handy tips of places to eat and visit. The top floor accomodation is very close to the centre of Bridport and the space was ample for our needs, was very clean, warm, cosey and comfortably. We would certainly stay here again.

    Helen2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very well designed loft space. Perfect for two adults, but can also accommodate children. Limited cooking facilities as described in the listing, but a variety of cafes, pubs, restaurants and take-aways close by. Great location. Spotlessly clean. Very helpful hosts.

    Debbie2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is in a great location in the heart of Bridport, and was fabulous value for money. The room is quiet and relaxing and was spotlessly clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate in staying there again.

  • Lovely loft apartment in good location, private from the rest of the house, with fresh bread and milk waiting on my arrival!

    Susan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Compact but perfect for what we needed and good value. Friendly hosts, lovely spacious bathroom and useful touches like the smell fridge, kettle and toaster. Would use again!

    Holly2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a great town. Excellent place for two friends together, as it gives a little division to the space even though it's a loft. Warm, snug, nice southern light, with a loaf of good bread and orange marmalade thrown in.

  • We had such a lovely time staying in this fabulous house. The location is perfect for exploring the Jurassic Coast and is just a short walk from the beach. The rooms are very spacious and there's a nice garden too. Our group was comprised of two families and so having an en suite bathroom for every bedroom was wonderfully convenient! Our host offered us lots of useful information about the area which was really helpful. It was very easy to feel at home in this house and we'd very much recommend it.

    Marc2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a brilliant find - even better than in the pictures. I was with my husband, our 2month old baby and my husbands mum and dad. We wanted a base for a few days to explore the Jurassic Coast, we had a car so were prepared to drive around the area. Jo's place was exactly what we were looking for. We spent a day in the village and on hive beach (hive beach cafe was lovely and is maybe a 20min walk - I would have been quite happy taking a book there each day and looking out at at sea!). The house is a short walk into the village and to the local pubs. The village and pubs are lovely. I would definitely reccomend.

  • Stephen's place is so cosy and absolutely perfect for what we wanted during a long weekend in Bridport. Stephen got in touch before our arrival to offer suggestions on what to see and do locally which was great - and on the back of this we ended up seeing a great local Boogie Woogie band which I'd never have found out about otherwise. The place is centrally located and within walking distance of lovely restaurants (The Olive Tree), cafes and bookshops. The bedroom is spacious yet snug and two comfy armchairs make it a nice place to relax after a day's walk. Everything you could want in a bathroom and kitchen - really a great place to come and enjoy Bridport and the coast, we'll definitely return.

  • Julie and Mark are fantastic hosts. They made myself and my little nervous rescue dog, Patzi, feel so at home and welcome. Julie was kind enough to suggest I use the large room for no extra cost as I was there for the week. The room was comfortable and spacious with a sofa and freeview tv as well as large wardrobe and bedside drawers with dimmable lamps. The double bed was comfortable and I slept really well from the first night which is unusual for me. Both the bathroom and kitchen are clean and easy to use. They have a lovely sized shower and well equipped kitchen with a separate fridge for guests. There’s free internet which worked really well the whole week. Julie and Mark have a real love and extensive knowledge of the area and have tonnes of information and maps galore. They provide breakfast free of charge which is a great addition. Although they have two lovely dogs, Julie and Mark are very thoughtful and considerate of guests who may be a little nervous of them. My nervous little dog didn’t see them at all the whole week and was as comfortable as she gets in a new place. Julie’s place is ideal for a peaceful getaway, with beautiful countryside and coast nearby. I recommend it as a great base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country.
