David's description of this place is very accurate. Check-in and check-out process was very easy. It was a nice secluded place to relax for the evening. The chicken's provided a country living feel.

David's place was exactly as advertised. It is located less than a minute from the freeway. The place is 15 min from the airport, downtown, TJ, and the beach. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The room is very minimal, but this is great for those who aren't planning on staying in the room all day. David provides all the bathroom amenities as well as water and tea/coffee. The cottage is in front of a mini farm with chickens, so if you don't like a farm smell you may not like it here. I didn't mind it and the morning wake-up call from the rooster was fun. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple room that's close to the hot spots in SD.

We stayed at three places on our vacation and this place was the cleanest by far. The little cabin was cute and comfortable and met all of our needs. We really liked the extra shelving storage above the little kitchen. Hosts were easy to reach and outside of the first night we didn't see them at all. The location was right off the freeway so that was super nice in terms of getting places but the freeway noise is a constant background rumble. Not a huge deal but I would have like to know it was there. We will likely be back to stay again. Thanks David!

The place was cozy and self sufficient. It was very well thought out. We had a great time. We wanted to extend our stay by a day and David gladly let us do it, without any hassle. I would stay here if I visited San Diego again.

The little cottage is exactly as described and as seen in the images - quaint, comfortable and very inviting. We arrived late on a Friday and yet Judy was still happy to welcome us, show us around and give us some top tips on visiting San Diego - she recommended the Old Town Trolley tour which we decided to do, and loved! Although we were barely at the cottage, our stay was comfortable and despite being a small space it has everything you could possibly need (plus some added extra surprises from Judy). Thank you for having us!

Quiet and cozy! When you want to be in San Diego but away from the loud hustle and bustle, this is the place! 10 minutes away from just about anything in San Diego, so the location was convenient. The casita is surrounded by fruit and flowering trees and butterflies are all around. When you want a peaceful retreat, this is it! I loved my stay. I didn't want to leave.

Dave and Judy were very very nice and hospitable to me and my girlfriend. It was our first time using Air Bnb and we will be booking with them again. The garden was alive and beautiful, the room was clean, cute and welcoming. Definitely should book with Dave and Judy if your staying in San Diego

This was our second stay at Judy & Dave's beautiful cottage. As usual they were as nice as ever, were helpful and were kind enough for us to take a handful of amazing tangerines from their tree (the were the best!). Ruth and Dan (aka Lord and Lady Barrington) were the perfect hosts. Their home was absolutely lovely. The space where we stayed was just as described and was a perfect fit for our vacation needs. Knowing that it was my boyfriend's birthday, they even left a sweet surprise upon our arrival. We couldn't have imagined a better place to spend our holiday weekend!

Chuck and Merry are very nice and were very accommodating to us arriving a tad late. The home was beautiful and the room we stayed in was big and spacious. We had our dog with us which we had discussed and as our dog is a pit and a big I think this may have scared the hosts. We ended up boarding Hagrid which was fine. Chuck and Merry did attempt to make it easy . Bagels in morning with coffee was very appreciated! A bit far from the actual San Diego area but we didn't mind the drive as their home is places at a nice serene hill!

We shared Chuck and Merry's home for 5 nights, and what a beautiful house it is. The guests suite is very spacious, with tea and coffee makers for our convenience. Chuck even prepared a continental breakfast for us each day, so we left his home ready to go each day. They also provided a lot of local knowledge. Thanks.

Chuck welcomed us and showed us around his home, making us comfortable. We took an Uber to a local restaurant which he recommended and it was tasty - local Mexican. The apt was adorable and very nice. I recommend it for a couple that wants a nice, private, affordable place to stay!

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the son of Charles and Merry and show around the lovely resort style property and spacious living area. The accommodations were pretty much exactly as described. The suite (one bedroom) is very private and spacious with walk-out to pool. We had reserved the extra room, which was at the opposite end of the home within the family residence. Both rooms were beautifully appointed with comfortable beds. Charles accommodated our special dietary needs and had breakfast with fresh fruit and yogurt daily and plenty of coffee, tea and water available at all times. We also had space in the refrigerator for our own snacks/salads, which we ate in the cozy dining room after our long days. The home is very 'zen-like' with a very welcome feeling - those who are spiritually inclined would especially feel a connection here. It was lovely to meet Charles, Merry and their boys. They all equally extended warmth an hospitality that is consistent with the AirBnB experience. We would look forward to a repeat visit - perhaps a vacation so that we could enjoy the pool and meditation gardens! The home (a little difficult to find at first) turned out to be an ideal location for our conference agenda - although a 15 minute drive from downtown, it's effortless to get to and from (suggest car rental) We also had a chance to visit some local spots that they were able to recommend close by and visited a few of the many beaches within 30 minutes of the retreat. Clean, comfortable and full of character and charm - great find and lovely family! Thanks again! ;-D

Arranging our trip with Charles was very easy; he responded quickly to any question asked and was accommodating when our delayed flight got in later than expected. I was traveling with a colleague so we had the master suite and the additional bedroom, which is located at the opposite end of the house and shares a bathroom with other family members (if they are present). Neither bedroom has an en suite bathroom, which was fine. Both rooms are as described and the beds were quite comfy. Charles had thoughtfully turned the electric blankets on low to warm them and had a heater going in the rooms when we arrived, which was nice as that night was colder than normal. While both bedrooms are comfortable, the suite has the advantage of more space with places to hang clothes, etc. It has a coffee/tea maker, which was very nice, as well as some snacks. Also, it is not within the house proper, so it offers more privacy and a locked space. It has a door that opens to the patio and gardens. The grounds are lovely and I wish we had had more time to just relax and enjoy the various gardens and outdoor spaces, but we were there for work and so were on the go most of the time. A couple of notes: One, follow directions to the house carefully. We were tired and ended up making an unnecessary loop because of not reading the details closely enough. Two, if you are sensitive to scents, this may not be the best place for you. My colleague who has bad allergies had a hard time with the incense, room fresheners, etc. The master suite worked okay for her, but the rest of the house was problematic. The house’s location was quite convenient for getting to/from the airport, downtown San Diego, and Coronado Island. I’d easily stay there again.

Christine is an absolute sweetheart, and I really enjoyed my stay at her place. When I first arrived, she showed me the house and then we sat down and talked for awhile and got to know each other, and being the warm-loving soul that she is I was easily able to open up to her and I really appreciated our conversation. The room was great, spacious and clean with a nice big TV and plenty cool posters and artifacts that her son collected. It actually reminded me of how I always wanted my room to look. In the morning she had tableware and cereal/breads set out for me along with my choice of fruits and avocados, which was worth the booking in itself. It was a pleasure meeting Christine and I would definitely come back!

Christine was an excellent host, she provided excellent directions to get to the place and was eagerly awaiting for us to arrive at the apartment. The place is exactly as seen in photos. The bathroom, bed, towels and overall room is very clean. Except for the bath tub which is showing a bit of aging everything else is in mint condition and Christine has decorated the room beautifully. She even made a map of nearby places to go for dinner! Nothing less than 5 stars for her. I would definitely stay again in this place if I am visiting San Diego again.

This was my first Airbnb stay and I will probably never choose to stay in a hotel again. This was much nicer. Christine was very kind and welcoming. She greeted us with hugs and made us feel right at home. She left out coffee, tea, and little healthy snacks so we could help ourselves, and directed me to the local farmer's stand for fresh produce. The room was clean, simple, and comfortable, with a private bathroom. The apartment complex had a very nice swimming pool area and was conveniently located near a community park and a wide variety of good restaurants. Christine warned me that I may have trouble finding street parking, but it was easier than I expected. Overall, a great experience.

I can't even begin to describe how great staying with Christine was, my boyfriend and I stayed with her for 8 nights and we had a spectacular experience, Christine was able to accommodate our arrival time, even after getting stuck in LA traffic, which was very nice of her. Upon arrival she showed us around, and the room was far better than what we expected, and the pictures really don't do any justice. The room is large, with a large walk in closet and a very good size TV, the bed was so comfortable, and a fan that she provided us with. We had our own private bathroom, which was so convenient because it was right across from the room. The complex had a beautiful pool and jacuzzi with comfortable furniture, which was great to relax in after a long day at the beach. The apartment is clean, and tidy, and Christine left breakfast for us, which was better service than a hotel! This was the BEST AirBNB experience, because Christine was such a positive, kind, and individual with such a warm and beautiful heart. She always had great recommendations and advice on places to go, restaurants and pretty much anything you could want. I would recommend Christine to ANYONE who is looking to make a trip to San Diego, everything is close to proximity, beaches, restaurants, lounges, it is a great location with exceptional company, and GREAT conversations! If we come back to SD there is no doubt, we would stay with Christine again without any hesitation.

This was my first airbnb experience in San Diego and Christine was really kind with us. She really made us feel like home since the moment we arrived. She made us coffee and breakfast in the morning and she has great knowledge about multicultural society so we really enjoyed our conversation. Very private, comfortable bed and lovely space. Wonderful, comfortable backyard to relax in and listen to the palm trees swaying in the wind. Nice hosts and obvious they put a lot of care into their space. It gives it that extra feeling of the comforts of home.

Michelle was a great host! It was our first time staying at an Airbnb (my boyfriend and I) and our experience was very positive. She answered any questions I had almost within minutes on the chat (even though it was New Years Eve), and the room was just as the pictures showed. The access to the room is private and the backyard is beautiful. Would suggest this place to anyone!

This place was amazing. It is a beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. The room and the bathroom are very modern and clean and both separate from Michelle's apartment (i.e. accessible via a side entrance). There is a beautiful very clean pool in the backyard and the room has an A/C. The WIFI access is fast and worked great. Michelle is such a friendly and generous person. She provided tips about hiking trails, restaurants and activities in the region. I requested the booking last minute and she responded within an hour. The check-in and check-out times were completely flexible. I would definitely stay again.

Michelle met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of everything. The room is very nice. The backyard is amazing. There are two different fire pits and seating for about 16. This was our first time using AirBnB where we didn't have the whole house or a separate private residence to ourselves. After our tour we didn't see Michelle again, so you definitely have privacy if that's what your looking for. This spot is perfect for that business traveler that is in town for a couple nights. After a long day you can sit out back with a drink and your toes in the pool while the fire is burning. Thanks for a great five nights Michelle.

Michelle was a wonderful host - very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! Our flight was delayed, and Michelle was flexible regarding the check-in time, which ended up being quite late. She also provided coffee, bottled water, and sent us off with donuts on our last day. The room situation was excellent. It was a private bedroom and bathroom, with private access through a side door. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. The backyard/pool area was beautiful, though we didn't get a chance to use it during our stay. We were in town for Comic Con, and the trip was booked at the last minute. Considering hotels downtown were $300+ per night at the very minimum, this was a great situation. Taking a Lyft to and from the house every day was still significantly less expensive than booking in San Diego, and it's a really nice neighborhood with a nearby golf course. I would definitely stay with Michelle again, and highly recommend this listing to anyone visiting the area.

Great pictures, amazing reviews, price and location?? It seemed too good to be true! Luckily, it was a very real gem and all the positive reviews were correct. I am happy that this (my first airbnb stay ever) booking at David's cozy cottage type of place was such a great experience. Do not doubt the reviews for this place, it is everything and more! You will want for nothing as this well furnished cottage will have the comforts of lodge in the hills, with calming views, and light and easy access to the highway. If I visit San Diego again I will immediately book with David again.

David was a great host! Our travels brought us into town much later than expected but David was patient, understanding and very accommodating! The rental is very spacious and I would stay here again, if I am ever in the area!

Dave and his wife made us feel so welcome! The location is a detached guest house on the side of their property in a suburb of San Diego and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. Upon entering the house, it was clean and felt very comfortable. Any other time of the year this place would not need AC at all. Unfortunately for us we decided to travel on the hottest weekend of the year. The apartment does not have air conditioning but it does have a ceiling fan and windows. Dave was kind enough to hook up a portable AC unit which was a God send! There is a beautiful balcony overlooking their backyard which is nice to sit out on in the morning. I really liked how they had extra towels, a microwave, and full sized fridge. The bed was very comfortable. There is a beautiful skylight up above the bed which was nice but you might want to bring a sleeping mask if you don't want the sun to wake you. The location is about 15-20 minutes from Downtown San Diego, Coronado Island, and local beaches. A mile down the road is a nice indoor mall with a movie theater, Target, restaurants, which was very convenient so you don't have to wander back into the busy downtown area. All in all we had an excellent experience and would stay here again in a heart beat!

David met us as we drove up and showed us the apartment and all the amenities. He was very friendly and accommodating before and during our stay. The location was perfect for us...10-15 minutes from everything we wanted to see.

David's place was perfect, for me and my guest it was just the right amount of space and it was quiet and safe. It's close enough to the city that going downtown or around San Diego was incredibly easy but far enough away that you got to feel like you were getting away from it. David himself was incredibly helpful and kind and I am so thankful for how accommodating he was to my late check in!

We had a lovely time in San Diego at David's and Sandy's place. It was very spacious, clean and the kitchen was the best equipped we've had in our journey! It is also very nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the evening. The apartment is located in a green, save area but still close to the highway. We can definitely recommend staying there.

Matthew was very accommodating with my arrival time and he made my dog and myself feel very welcome. The room is separated from the rest of the house by a long narrow room/hallway so I had plenty of quiet and privacy. The house is convenient to freeways so even though it's not in the center of the city, it's a quick drive to get almost anywhere.

Matthew was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and neat. It was a bit small for me and my mother, but it was more than enough to crash.

Matt is super chill, and I was able to go in and out of the property, use the fridge, office and workout equipment as if I were at home. I think that's enough said.

Matthew is a very patient, well-traveled and friendly host. I would never hesitate to anyone to encourage them to use his b&b. Matthew is very laid back and can deal with well with lots of different personalities, traits I myself have (and always strive to improve) but he, also like me is not a doormat. All in all, he is a great guy. The location is quite close to downtown San Diego, various harbors and beaches, even not so far (though you;d have to drive there first) to some of the most famous advertised parks and hiking trails in California. The price is perfect for those who don't require to be actually downtown or on the beach or waterfront. The neighborhood is a safe one! Trust me, I work for a branch of federal law enforcement and accidentally left a cap with my branch's acronym on it very visible from the back window of my Corolla for several days - a total invitation to mess with my car! Plus, for the first two weeks I had a soft top roof bag atop my car and it have been effortless to steal, but it stayed put! It was full of things of little real value that normally I wouldn't have taken (like large sturdy cat scratching posts made of wood and sisal) but as I already had a soft top car carrier bag, I thought what the heck? If the cat articles and such survive the journey, wonderful, they are impossible to even give away but pricey to buy again; and should they be stolen, I haven't lost anything of any real consequence plus with a police report I can take it off my taxes next year. But, the bag remained in place until I removed it myself (I was always working and simply exhausted all the time) and though I had things of real value stored in the car that were normally hidden with a blanket, it was obvious the car was laden with "stuff," but no one broke into it no matter where I parked on the street - and I was always, even at 2am returning from work, able to find a great spot any night of the week. Plus, check the crime stats - downtown San Diego has more crime by far than Matthew's neighborhood! Go - stay there! Take a vacation!

My wife and I stayed here to visit some of San Diego's breweries. It's a $20 Uber ride to Liberty Station, which is great. We LOVED (truly loved) the memory foam mattress. The place was immaculate. The shower is modern and has TONS of hot water. It was perfect for the two of us. We fully intend to look this place up again the next time we visit San Diego.

The place is as nice as it looks in the pictures. We loved our stay! We didn't have much interaction with the hosts, but Gloria was very helpful the one time we bumped into her.

We spent four nights in this Airbnb. We found it to be a good place to relax and very convenient to San Diego attractions as well as local needs, provided you have a car. It was about 20 minutes to the zoo, Balboa Park etc. The atmosphere was quite luxurious, we liked having our own private entrance and it was great to have a kitchenette ( microwave, small fridge and sink) for meal prep. The bedroom is quiet and private with a very nice two way bathroom. Gene was a very helpful host, even arranging for a new Wifi system when it became apparent that the existing one just wasn't doing the job. He was lovely to talk to but not intrusive. Recommended.

Place was really nice! Very clean and spacious! Everything is as described. Parking is on the street but was usually empty so it wasn't difficult to find a spot. Only used the Airbnb to sleep though. Wished I'd stay longer to utilize the large patio. Would stay again next time I'm in the area :)

Lisa was a wonderful host! My girlfriend and I felt right at home the entire time. As soon as we arrived Lisa was waiting for us outside and got us settled in right away and gave us directions and tips of where to go in San Diego. It was a great time to come to San Diego as it was comic weekend. Lisa gave us cookies and had water & ice for us to drink right away as it was hot out and we had just driven two hours. She was completely dedicated to make sure we were more then comfortable the entire stay and answered all of our questions and we had some great conversation. Lisa is a superb host and I would definitely recommend staying here. Only 10 minutes from downtown San Diego. If we ever come back to San Diego or want to visit Tijuana Mexico, we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Lisa! You are a wonderful person! We loved you & our stay!

We had a great time, the house was amazing and Bertha is an excellent host! The room was perfect for us 3, the house had a lot of room and we were given access to all amenities. For our first AirBnb experience this was great! Great location the area it's super clean and safe. Loved the morning runs and my 4 y/o daughter loved the walking distance park in the area. We will definetly consider this for our future stays in San Diego/Chulavista area. The studio is bigger than we expected, secure, private and the bed is super comfy! I had a wonderful time , Mariana and her husband were incredible hosts. The totally independent one bedroom master suite is tastefully decorated , functional, quiet and in one of the best neighborhoods in Chula Vista. There is a feeling of luxurious indulgence sleeping in such a comfortable bed and enjoying the romantic tub. I was also amazed about the clever floor plan allowing a two door walking closet. One of my best Airb&b experiences. Thank you !

The house is really good, cleaned and all facilities are good. Benita is very helpful and reachable. My family had their first USA trip and their stay at Benita's place was great and better than the expectation.

When we first stepped in to Benita's house, we instantly fell in love with the warm and friendly hospitality that Benita welcomed us with. The house was amazing, decor was beautiful and our room was just fabulous. It was a master bedroom that would easily sleep 4 people. The bathroom was organized and on par with some of the great hotels that you can find. Benita was extremely helpful and kind toward us. She made us an excellent breakfast and even gave us a bunch of goodies (food and drinks) for our long trip back to Utah! I would definitely recommend this place!

The house has a backyard with a nice view. it is great to have breakfast or brunch. I am sure that future host will feel the same. I highly recommend that people interest consider staying at Benita's house.

Benita is a wonderful host and has an amazing house and is happy to share any common areas (even a wonderful terrace). 5-star hotel treatment (she even tidied our room in the middle night of our stay) and caring as a granny! I'm hoping to find an excuse to go back to San Diego soon! Thank you!

Beautiful location with great views! The house is large with all the amenities. Stacie is a super hostess! Total nice and helpful! Even their dog tank is large, but really appreciate and hug! The only drawback, the air conditioning was not working, what is not so bad but in San Diego. So highly recommended!

Stacy was warm and delightful. The bed was very comfortable (slept very well) and the view was great but there were a lot of personal items in the room and bath. I want to trust reviews so I am being honest. The price was right, but it didn’t feel like a guest room. I felt like I’d just kicked someone out of their room for the night. The basics were there, but I felt like I came to a friend’s home at the last minute and they just changed the sheets but didn’t have time to freshen up the room.

Overall a good place. There were 3 other people staying at the house when I was there. Some noise from the other guests

This has been my absolute best AirB&B experience to date. Cody's mom, Stacy hosted us in her beautiful home. The magnificent scent of the place as we first walked though the door, the pure peacefullness of the wind chimes blowing in the breeze outside, the breath taking view from the patio and the surrounds, the cosy bedroom with the well decorated king size bed done up like a 5 star hotel to the incredible hospitality we experienced in the hands of Stacy. She doesn't do it for the money but for the people. There are few people like her left on this planet. So if yu get the chance or have the choice of where to stay if you're looking to stay down here, then this is the place. Just bring your good vibes with you and you'll fit in perfectly.

Cody and his mother are the best host ever. Everything was perfect. I felt like at home. The view was beautiful. I can recommend it with pleasure.

We've been there for a few days. Cody and his mom are very helpful and we were treated like family members. It's a nice house with a beautiful view. If I ever come back to visit San Diego, this would be my first choice
