“Oistins Fish Fry Friday night at Oistins is an institution in Barbados. It starts at 6 pm and lasts till the early hours of the morning, with freshly cooked fish, local rum, and a DJ to get the party started. The entertainment is free, and a plate of food (usually fresh fish with chips (fries), salad and macaroni pie) costs around BBD $25. You can also stroll along the market stalls selling local art and craft, also for reasonable prices. ”

“Harrison’s Cave Located in the central parish of St. Thomas, Harrison’s Cave is one of the great wonders of Barbados. The underground cave is a beautiful natural display of stalactites and stalagmites, with streams of crystal clear water. Electrically powered trams take you through the cave network, and friendly tour guides provide historical and geographical information about the cave along the way. The visitor’s center provides refreshments and showcases a wide variety of handicraft and artifacts, collected from various sites island-wide. Tip: Don’t forget your camera!”

“Breathtaking cliff views of the north coast of the island, the iconic natural window views of the cave itself, and a rustic cliff lounge that is a writer's dream. If you take an actual tour of the cave, the natural 9ft deep pool (the famous one where Rihanna did one of her ad campaigns) will not disappoint. The cliffside restaurant also has fantastic food. Try their blackened barracuda or any catch of the day.”

There are also a lot of lovely boutiques (including resort wear), duty-free jewelry stores, cinemas and live entertainment on the weekends. “Ideally situated on the buzzing South Coast boardwalk, just a few feet away from the water’s edge, Tapas awaits. It’s the perfect place to enjoy great scenery while indulging in delectable food and drinks. This elegantly rustic beachside restaurant is out to win your hearts with its warm ambiance and its international menu, perfectly designed by Chef Franco Parisi with touches of Italian and Caribbean flair. His expert kitchen staff loves to see Tapas full of happy people enjoying his creations. Locals and tourists alike flock to enjoy a glass of wine from their extensive wine list or a cool signature cocktail prepared by their talented mixologist. At Tapas, awarded BHTA Restaurant of the Year, there is something for everyone. Alfredo, the host, exudes a warmth and a charm that will make you feel right at home.”

“This is a beautiful place to visit. Farley Hill is a National Park in St Peter on the site of Grenade Hall Plantation, established in the 17th Century. I have been here many times. You can simply just come for the day to chill and take in the amazing views of the East Coast. Take along a picnic and chill. There are picnic benches there. ***open 8.30am til 4.30pm tel. 258 3525 ***As its about a 45min/1hr drive away (depending on raffic)...Also note that across the road is also the Barbados Wildlife Reserve....so you could plan to do both tourist attractions in one day. Do Farley Hill morning and then go across to the Wildlife Reserve before 2pm to see the animals and especially the Green Monkeys being fed!!!! ***Also note, Farley Hill hosts the famous REGGAE FESTIVAL with amazing artists if you planning to come to Barbados April/May. I too have been to the festival and the show and artists simply amazing and if you here I would definitely recommend you to buy tickets n go and experience!!! :)”

“Another one of my favourite eating places, especially to link n lime with friends. It's a bar and grill and the food is great!!!! Two of my favourite dishes, is the Pork Loin, wrapped in bacon, with mash potatoes, local vegetables and an onion gravy!! The other is the Lamb Burger!! although I say all the burgers are homemade and delicious. Great Cocktails too and they have drinks specials on different nights. Eat in or outside. The atmosphere, vibes and music is great! Situated in Worthing...only about 20mins drive away.”
