From Mud's House you can walk down to Nellys pub for a pint - get fish and chips on the way home- and walk across the village green to the gym next day to work it all off!
  • We had an amazing stay at Vonnie’s Mud’s House. It was so warm and comfortable and the beds were the most comfortable we ha e slept on. The home was cozy and had everything we needed - our only regret was to have not stayed longer! Our family loved it here and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Ireland. Our favourite place in Ireland!

  • Vonnie is a great host. We loved our stay at Vonnie's place. Had some breakfast ready, great bath, good location. We literally took 30seconds to arrive to the nearest restaurant (where surprisingly we were received in Portuguese 😊). Cozy, clean and ready for a 6-people group. Would repeat the experience.

    João2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was well kept and well stocked, clean and tidy. Moreover it was cosy, and in a perfect location. Vonnie communicated very well and kept me up to date in terms of plans for check-in. I highly recommend and will look to stay here again the next time we're in the area.

  • It was wonderful!

  • Lovely house, very homely . Everything you need is in the house. Great communication with Vonnie. Loved it.

    Brian2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were attending a wedding in Kilshane House and Vonnie’s place was ideally located for it. Vonnie was a great host and was very flexible and accommodating. The bread, milk and jam she left for us was very much appreciated in the morning. I would absolutely recommend a stay in Mud House, it was a shame we couldn’t stay longer to enjoy the board games 😊

  • My partner, my friend and I spent 2 nights in Christine’s place and had an amazing time! The home itself is beautiful and everything was so clean and lovely. The garden is big and the area is lovely to walk around, it’s an absolutely beautiful home with everything you need to have a good stay. The house is very homely and we all loved our stay, Christine was an incredible host and her communication was always excellent, there was some nice treats upon our arrival which was very kind and generous. We loved our stay, I would recommend Christines place to anyone visiting Ireland or the area:)

  • Adorable and very accommodating hostess.

    Anne Et Jules2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing property. Christine has gone to huge effort to make this property a wonderful place to stay. The house is wonderfully spacious with plenty of space for our family of five to spread out. The house is spotlessly clean and decorated in a wonderful homely farmhouse style. The living and dining space are spacious and the large playroom with a huge selection of toys, books and games kept our three children entertained. The bedrooms were lovely - very clean and nicely decorated as were the bathrooms. There is a huge amount of outdoor space with the lovely farmyard surrounded by quaint barns , which is gated , meaning even our two year old could play out there without me needing to worry. There is also a large trampoline and a treehouse with lots of green areas for exploring also!! Christine provided clear and detailed instructions on how to use the various amenities in the house and met us personally on arrival to show ya anything we were unsure of. All in all, Christine’s property was an absolute pleasure to stay in, and we all can’t wait to visit again!!

  • There is no better place we stayed in during our trip through Ireland. The house is huge and the all the rooms are very nice and roomy. The kitchen is really big and there's enough room to cook a nice meal, we did. Had a nice dinner in the dining room where there's plenty of room round the table. We didn't even really get to the two living rooms but they're decked out too. The beds were very comfy, the hosts were super helpful and nice. There's a the most thorough guide to the surrounding we've ever seen in any place if your looking for ideas of what to do. All in all, great value for money and we'll worth the drive!

    Annette2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely farmhouse with lots of character, plenty of space for kids (including a well kitted play room, at least for 7yrs and under), all in a great setting looking to the Galtees. Great outdoor space with fine treehouse and trampoline. Our 3 girls loved every minute, as did the parents! All sparkling clean, perfect hospitality and great communication. Can't wait to visit again

  • Gerry and Dorothy are amazing hosts, both always up for a chat. Each morning Gerry cooked and provided a full breakfast. The location was great, right on the Main Street, a close walk to the bus stop. The room was spacious enough with it’s own bathroom. The triple paned windows provided a quiet nights sleep as well. Would definitely stay here again if I was in Tipperary.

  • We had a great few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city in Marion's cottage. The place is lovely and Marion was very helpful whenever we needed it.

    David2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • wonderful spot, everything you need for a great stay in Tipperary.

    James2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • I don’t have enough good things to say about this cottage and the host Marion. The cottage had so much character and warmth! There were so many thoughtful touches and details and Marion was more than willing to help with anything that was needed. My kids loved it too! It was with a sad heart we left, but hope to return someday. I couldn’t more highly recommend this listing!!

    Nykol2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a wonderful spot. As our seven and four year old said “this is the best holiday of our life” As soon as we saw the photos of Marion’s place we knew that this was the place we wanted to stay with our three children. We could see the creativity and thought that had gone into designing, building and decorating the space. It was warm and welcoming with a real homely feel. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that you could need (including vinegar for a wasp sting) Marion had left some yummy goodies for us to enjoy, which was very much appreciated. The location itself is beautifully rural, just the kind of holiday we like, with plenty of things within driving distance to explore (Cashel, Cahir, Mitchelstown caves and the beautiful glen of Aherlow) The kids had great fun in the garden with the many swings and areas to hide. Whilst The hosts live right next door, at no point did they intrude on our time, we were left to come and go and enjoy our holiday as we pleased. If we had needed them, they were right there though. The handcrafted elements of the house are inspiring, it’s super clean and it just “works”. Even our seven year old commented on all the beautiful details of the house, wanting us to try and recreate some at home! We are already plotting our return.

    Rebecca2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A charming cottage carefully detailed with all one can wish to have in a dreamy holidays. Even listening the rain rattling the windows roof, while comfortably resting in bed, is an inequal pleasure. Sourronding by Nature, you can see deers standing peacefully in the woods. Marion is a super host. We had a problem and she was more than helpful whit us. She gave us a very seewt welcome. An incredibly wonderful house, full of exquisite details. A place to feel really comfortable and enjoy the green abundance of the island. Marion is an endearing woman who takes care of every detail to make your stay unforgettable. It is the best house of all we have stayed in (and we have stayed in a few).

    Belen2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cottage with everything you need. Marion had prepared a welcome pack that brought us over the first thirst for arrival. The garden is beautiful, a paradise for children too, and is adjacent to a small river. The location is a bit out of the way, you have to drive a bit. But you really do not want to get away from the cuddly log fire and the lovely furnishings.

    Kilian2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage was absolutely amazing and garden is breath taking. Marion made us feel so welcome and we had a lovely surprise waiting for us and the kids. It was great to get kids out of house and away from technology with plenty to do in the garden. We are already planning our next visit and would definitely recommend to all our family and friends.

    Liam2019-08-02T00:00:00Z

The word 'cashel' is an Anglicised version of the Irish word caiseal, meaning 'fortress' (related to the English 'castle', from the Latin castellum). Cashel is one of the proud tidy town winners in 2017. The town of Cashel owes its existence to a giant limestone outcrop of massive historical and social importance. Known as the Rock of Cashel, it was the seat of the Kings of Munster from the 5th century until it was given to the church in 1101. It's a five-minute stroll from the town the Rock.
Located in the heart of the golden vale. We are centrally located 1.2 km from M8, only 2 km from Rockwell College, founded in 1864 Its list of former pupils and teachers includes two Presidents of Ireland Éamon de Valera, Taoiseach and President of Ireland and Dr Patrick Hillery, President of Ireland 1976-1990. Not far from Coolmore Stud, Glen of Aherlow, Cahir Castle, Mitchelstown Caves, numerous parkland golf courses all within less than 20 mins drive. There are lovely walks close by such as the lake of Rockwell College, the famous river suir where you can park in Cahir and stroll down the river, around the walled town of Cashel. Spacious and safe off road parking, during the summer you can sit in the porch and relax in the garden soaking up the sunshine. You can watch the cattle in the field rise in the morning and retire at night from your bedroom window.
Our home is halfway between Rockwell College and exit 9 off the M8. We are 2mls (3km) from the centre of Cashel and 2mls from the historic Rockwell College in the heart of the golden vale. 15km from out home you can visit the historic Swiss Cottage located 2km south of Cahir Town on the road to Ardfinnan (Cahir is a Heritage Town). Close to Cahir you have easy access to Ballyporeen the ancestral home of former US President Ronald Regan. You can also visit the historic holy cross abbey in holy cross village on the river suir between Cashel and Thurles town.

My place is a five minute drive to Kilshane House Hotel for wedding guests. Beautiful walks nearby my Cottage here. I'm less than a one hour drive from Cork, Kilkenny, Dungarvan and Waterford and 40 minutes from Limerick so central. The beautiful Glen of Aherlow is nearby with great walks, cycle trails and horse riding. You’ll love my place because of the stove, the comfy bed, the kitchen, the cosiness, the high ceilings and the views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers and families
I'm also 5 minutes from Cahir, the historical town with Cahir Castle and the Swiss Cottage in the beautiful Cahir Park with mature trees and the river Suir. The Mitchelstown caves are a 15 minute drive away. The town of Cashel is also a 15 minute drive where u have the fabulous Rock of Cashel which is a must see!! For the golfer you are spoilt for choice of golf courses nearby. The Glen of Aherlow scenic drive is just down the road from me, drive along country roads with fabulous views of the Galtee mountains ( which are fantastic for hikers) and continue on to Aherlow House Hotel where u get the most amazing views of the Galtees and on the way home stop off at the Coach Road Bar for a drink and meet the friendly locals. As you can see, plenty to do when you stay at my cottage.

Just a short walk to both Cashel town and the historic Rock of Cashel, this cosy vintage home is the perfect place from which to explore the area. You are welcome to use the quirky kitchen or explore the myriad local restaurants and pubs. Cashel is also a great central point from which to access the surrounding areas and is on the well serviced Dublin-cork bus route.
This modern detached house is warm, spacious and fully equipped while still having lots of character. It’s located in a quiet estate, yet only five minutes walk to the nearest pub and restaurant. This room is a very big double with great views of the Rock and the local abbey. We call it the flower room, you can see why from the pictures! There is also a twin room available in the same house
You can see the historic Rock of Cashel from the upstairs window as well as a twelfth century abbey. There are lots of lovely places to walk and many others only a short drive away. For a small town, Cashel has a great range of places to eat, shop or go for a night out. Within only a ten minute walk there are two large supermarkets, three pubs, a really good Thai restaurant, an ice cream parlour and a pizza place! The town itself is also very picturesque, perfect for a stroll around.
  • Claire's husband, Sean, met us when we arrived late after getting lost on our way from Killarney. He carried our heavy bags up the stairs and offered us something hot to drink on that cold rainy night. He explained everything well. The view from the room is lovely- you see the Rock of Cashel. Everything is nicely set up in the room and clean. Lovely stay!

Main bedroom w/toilet and two additional rooms, my town house has all mod cons, except TV, and is on the main Limerick Road into Tipperary. Opposite the Costcutters Petrol Station open until 11pm and 2min stroll to Corneys Pub. Free parking & great for any Galtee Walkers or Wedding guests. Bus/Train accessible.
So convenient ... but it does over look the main road so there is a price for every convenience.
Tipperary town hills are at the back of the house, great for a jog or after dinner stroll.

  • The value, the location and the overall stay was more than we expected! We took time during this visit to explore so much of Ireland – and this was a perfect central location and home base! Not only that, Kajsa gave us some amazing tips on places to go and things to see that aren’t in the travel guides. She used to give tours so you couldn’t get a better resource for tips and friendly suggestions. We could not be happier with our wonderful vacation and stay. :-)

Burke’s Place is situated in a secluded setting on Carrigeen Mountain, below Galtymore above the village of Kilbeheny, County Limerick. We are located on the mountain and are surrounded by beautiful countryside and peaceful hill walks.
We have a large, comfortable family home and we have welcomed family and friends to our home for many years as the children were growing up. Now we would like to offer our home and hospitality to Airbnb guests as our nest continues to empty. Burke’s Place is an ideal spot to unwind after a day’s hillwalking or sightseeing or just to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We can accommodate up to 3 guests with a comfortable single room and double room. The double room is a separate listing but can be booked with the single room. As we are 7 miles from the nearest town we offer a light breakfast to all guests to set you up for the day. The breakfast is included in the room prices. For an extra charge we can provide packed lunches and an evening meal if required. Bedroom. We are offering a single room on the first floor. Guests will have access to their own bathroom on the first floor which consists of a toilet, sink and bath. The shower room is on the ground floor and is shared. Living areas. The living areas of the house are comfortable and are open to guests to relax or unwind at the end of the day. There are stoves in both living areas for the chilly nights on the mountain. Guests can have privacy or may choose to engage with the family. It is entirely up to the guest’s preferences. Dining. We offer a light breakfast for guests (which includes home baking). There is a large dining room and guests have access to a microwave, kettle and toaster. For any guests taking to the hills we can provide a packed lunch and evening meals can be arranged on request (at an additional charge). Access to Technology. There is access to Wi-Fi but due to our location it is basic. It is suitable for general internet browsing, organising travel plans etc. but not suitable for downloading of movies, online games etc. For overseas guests who do not have access to a phone provider, we do provide a basic mobile ‘pay as you go’ phone that can be used for making dinner reservations etc. and for emergencies, especially for guests who are taking to the hills.
The Local Area. Carrigeen Mountain is located in County Limerick within the Galty Mountain range on the border with the counties of Tipperary and Cork. The house is south facing so there are grand views of the Knockmealdown Mountains of Tipperary and Waterford. As you step out of the door there are numerous walks for every level of fitness whether you want to climb to the summit of Galtymore or enjoy a leisurely walk. The name "Galty” roughly derives from "Mountains of the Forests" in English. The Galty Mountains are Ireland's highest inland mountain range. The highest peak is Galtymore which rises to 3009 Ft. There are 5 corrie lakes on the mountain range including Lough Musky, Lough Curra, and Lough Bohreen. Along the outlying ridge of the Galty Mountains lies Moanour Mountain. Part of this mountain has been protected as a Special Area of Conservation due to the presence of rare grassland habitat and rare arctic alpine plants such as the small white orchid. Between the Galty Mountains and the Slievenamuch Ridge is the Glen of Aherlow, a stunningly beautiful valley that is also very popular with walkers. There are also shorter local walks that take in the beautiful scenery and seclusion of the area. We can advise you on local walks or hillwalking and can provide maps if needed. Kilbeheny Village is 10 minute’s drive from the house and the nearest town is Mitchelstown which is twenty minutes drive. It is a 15-minute drive to the M8 (Motorway link between Dublin and Cork). Cork City & Limerick City are approximately an hour’s drive away. Local places of interest include Cahir Castle and the Swiss Cottage, The Rock of Cashel, Mitchelstown Caves, Lismore Castle & Gardens, Mount Mellary, the beautiful Vee Valley and the Glen of Aherlow. We can advise you on local eateries, events etc. on your visit. Burke’s Place is ideal for hill walkers or guests who want to get to know the local area. Whatever the activity all guests can relax in a peaceful, friendly, comfortable environment. The History. My Father was born at Burke's Place and my Mother was born in the neighbouring townland of Carrigeen. The house was always known as Burke’s Place so we have retained the name. My parents were part of the mass emigration from the mountain in the 1950’s and they made a life for themselves in England. As children we spent our summers here so I have a huge emotional connection to the mountain. My father’s home place was sold out of the family but 20 years later myself and my husband purchased the cottage and land to raise our own family.
  • Kathleen and Sam were some of the most thoughtful and lovely hosts I have ever met! It was such a cozy stay with everything I needed and much more. We have a wonderful vegetarian dinner and breakfast with plenty of great conversation and tips on the area! I also had a very nice bath and plenty of tea. Thank you so much!!

  • Very lovely couple, I had to book unexpectedly at last minute but Kathleen made me feel very welcome, even welcomed me with snacks and tea even though she had just gotten off work. I really appreciate the hospitality and cleanliness of her and her husband. Being mid December this southern girl was a bit chilly but the extra blankets given to me made for a cozy nights sleep. Thank you for everything, beautiful view, lovely breakfast and conversation- highly recommended!

    Jenn2018-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful house. It's in a secluded location surrounded by trees and birdsong. The views of the surrounding Galtee mountains are fab. If you enjoy nature and beautiful scenery this is the place to stay. Kathleen is a really pleasant host and the fruit pot for breakfast was delicious.

    Kevin2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts and great hospitality all round! Very clean.

    Karina2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was welcomed into Kathleen and Simon's beautiful home like a member of the family. Tea and home made scones on arrival looking out to stunning views of the mountains was superb. My room was spotless, spacious and the bed was the most comfortable I'd slept in throughout my 12 days of travel in Ireland! Kathleen and Simon were most helpful with directions to a wedding venue I needed to find and sorting me out with a hairdryer. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very relaxed which made my stay a real pleasure. I would definitely stay again and recommend them wholeheartedly :)

It is situated only 12km from the famed Rock of Cashel and is centrally located for touring Ireland. There is a shop and pub only 3km away and beautiful restaurants in Cashel and Tipperary town. We are in very close proximity to the Glen of Aherlow which plays host to beautiful scenery and hill walks. If traditional music is your thing then it can be found in abundance in many pubs locally.

  • Prepare to be transported back in time in this beautifully preserved old Irish cottage. Jimmy’s great grandmother owned the house originally and her photo along with various family members hangs on the wall. My kids loved it and we took on cottage names for the week : Kitty, Mary Ann etc! Nobody was interested in their gadgets. We told stories by the fireside and the children put on plays! The cottage was warm and cozy despite the cold outside. It was quaint, clean, pretty and felt like home. Surroundings are breathtaking. Rita and Jimmy are kind and thoughtful hosts. We found a gem and we will be back.

    Aedin2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage for our family of 5. It helped add the Irish touch to our holiday seeing the sights around the island. Perfect spot for day trips. Rita met us and gave us a very warm welcome. She made cupcakes for us, which our kids enjoyed immensely. Highly recommend staying here.

    Jonathan2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rita's cottage is a beautiful, cosy home away from home. We spent three days there for mid-term break that coincided with our 7 year old's birthday, and had such a lovely time. The cottage is a real step back in time, warm, cosy and equipped with everything needed. Highly recommended! Thank you Rita!

    Maire2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is lovely and very clean. Rita and Jimmy are fantastic hosts. They took us to an Irish pub with live Irish music. Beautiful!!!!!.

    Piet2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rita's cottage was the ideal getaway from busy city life. We all thoroughly enjoyed discovering the "dance to tipperary" CD and enjoyed making food and spending time together in the quiet countryside. Also very well located to rock of Cashel and an easy drive to other parts of the southwest.

We offer a warm friendly relaxed welcome to our large country house in rural area, on a small beef farm, only 6km from the historical town of Cashel. Our home is located on a quiet avenue. We have 1 bedroom available, with a seprate shower & toilet room attached. Included in price per room is a self service breakfast, which includes, a selection of cereal, breads, fruit & tea/coffee. We circulate vouchers to guests for free admission to the Rock. We also have a pet dog called Toby.
Please note that we are away on the 27th June to 6th July, so guests will be home alone. The main bedroom is very comfortable with a double bed and a seperate shower & toilet room. We have also a wardrobe in room with our own personal things in it, perhaps guests will respect this. Included in the price is a self service breakfast. Therefore the table will be set and guests can make tea/coffee and can help themselves to fresh breads, cereal, fruit etc The house has a big garden. We also give guests voucher which give free admission to Rock of Cashel. It is in a quiet rural area on a small lane, very safe and plenty of free car parking spaces. There are 6 of us in the family, so therefore it is a busy house and expect some noise, however we will try and be as respectful as possible of guests who want an early night. There is public bus & train service, however we would recommend guests to have a car.

It is a quiet, peaceful area and there is lots to see from the mountains to the stunningly green fields to the river and trails and winding roads and gorgeous scenery. The home is newly remodeled, it’s so cozy and warm, filled with light and just beautifully beautifully decorated. Lorraine and her family are such wonderful hosts. They took such wonderful care of us going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and/or needed. They did everything possible to make our stay so special. They thought of everything!! Thank you Lorraine and family for a fantastic stay. Highly highly recommend a stay at Lorraine’s home.

  • Jurgita's home has modern style, is clean and warm, bed linens were nice and she is friendly and have advice of where to go in Tipparery.

    Catherine2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • From the day I booked, Jurgita is very helpful and she replies very fast. Also she is very flexible and I can check in without any difficulties. She is very friendly and I enjoyed the talk with Jurgita and her boyfriend so much. Her house looks very new and very clean. I can enjoy the tea and coffee and also I can use the hob and whatever I want. The room is just next to the front door and outside is the main road. I thought it will be noisy at night because of the cars but it turns out no problem for me to sleep as Tipperary is just a small town. The bed is very big and comfortable, I really enjoy staying with Jurgita. You must come and stay with her if you are visiting Tipperary.

  • This is the most charming place I’ve stayed at on my whole vacation in Ireland! Everything was super clean and Cliona was very helpful and responded very quickly to my messages. She even made us fresh bread and jam when we arrived.

    Rachel2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this property more highly. A wonderful cottage on a working farm, we were surrounded by horses, cows, dogs, cats and many variety of birds flying overhead. Cliona was a very attentive host, baking us bread, taking the time to chat to us about the farm and even introducing us to local amateur historians which really helped our understanding of Ireland' s past . Lots to see and do in the area loved the green country side and the friendly Irish people. Hopefully we will stay here again when we come back to Ireland.

    Patricia 2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cliona and Cyril were wonderful hosts with a beautiful cottage in the countryside of Tipperary. It was great to experience the life on an Irish farm and homestead. Cliona’s property is kept immaculately and beautifully. Any issues that we had were addressed immediately after messaging her by her coming personally. Her brown bread that she made us after she welcomed us was amazing and became a staple during our meals. Four people can easily stay comfortably here, and it is an easy drive from Dublin and to Cork. It was relatively close to visit our relatives in County Luimneach as well. There are many great attractions that Cliona provided an abundance of information for. The best things hands-down have to be the horses and the uninterrupted views of the stars at night. We definitely recommend anyone who wants to experience Irish hospitality and living, and we will definitely come back to the Kilcoran Cottage when we return to Ireland . Thank you again Cliona and Cyril!

    Timothy2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Seriously one of the nicest experiences we’ve had through Airbnb. Beautiful country estate, horses and their yearlings grazing in the fields with the cows, sunsets with mountain views. Spacious, well cared for cottage with a cozy loft for my teen, and a private bedroom/bathroom for my husband and me. Beds were (awesomely) comfortable. Cliona went above and beyond making us feel at home: homemade brown bread, lots of local info, prepping the wood stove for us each evening. We ate breakfast in the bright, cheerful kitchen before heading to explore nearby Cahir, Cashel, Cork and Kilkenny. Rented bikes and rode to Dungarvan along the Greenway. Came home tired and happy, lit the wood stove and hunkered down for the night. Totally worth driving the 10 min or so to stay in the countryside away from noise and activity. If you love the country, this place is ideal. We’ll definitely be back.

    Margaret2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cliona and Cyril are wonderful hosts. They went above and beyond with their welcome. The home made bread was lovely. The cottage is beautiful and they couldn’t do enough for me and my two friends. The place was clean and tidy and they had set up the rooms so each of us had a separate bedroom. When you look out of the windows all you see is amazing views of the mountains and countryside. It is in an amazing spot to visit some historical sites and other places of interest. We were all delighted with our stay and would definitely stay there again.

    Rachel2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, fantastic hosts. This is a real-live working (organic) cattle/horse farm offering a glimpse into modern Irish agriculture and what it takes to produce the nation's outstanding food and winning pedigree horses. First rate accommodation and as much an experience as a place to stay.

A king size bed and enormous bathroom await you in a country haven 3km from The Rock of Cashel in Co Tipperary. Helen will share her secret way to get FREE entry to the plus FREE parking at the rock. My traditional Irish country house is set just 3 km from "The Rock" on a quiet leafy country road. An ideal base to tour the Southern part of Ireland. Sink into a super luxurious King bed with hotel grade sheets. only the best.for.Helens guests!
The most tranquil and best value place to stay in Cashel. Luxury accommodation with complete peace and quite and only 5 minutes into Cashel. A car is essential. Guess access is a spacious double room with a divinely comfortable king size bed you wont want to leave. Care is taken with every detail... from duçk down duvet and pillows, memory foam mattress topper, hotel grade cotton sheets. The room has been designed professionally to create a restful space. The only sound you will hear are the birds. Your bath room is for your use only. It is a large bathroom with a full size bath and shower. Breakfast is not provided and there is no access to the kitchen or the rest of the house. However your host can tell you where to get a great breakfast at very reasonable prices. It is a perfect stopping off point between Dublin and Kerry or Cork and a great place to chill out. Cashel is the gourmet capital of Tipperary. Your host will give you recommendations based on your tastes and price range from the best fish and chips to the gourmet. She can tell you how to get into the Rock of Cashel for free (saving you 6 euro per person). Her passion is travel and finding out of the way unusual places far from the tourist traps and will happily share them with you. You will get your own key to your room and the house and can come and go as you please.
Peaceful area 3km from cashel. 4 min drive but not suitable for public transport. in the heart of The Golden Vale yet close to major transport routes. Tipperary is a county of immense natural beauty, with a unique and ancient heritage. Shaped by the rugged Galtee Mountains and the River Suir, Tipperary has some of Irelands most breathtaking scenery and dotted with towns and villages. Cashel is home to the iconic Rock of Cashel. One of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Ireland and one of the most visited. Cashel’s rich history is reflected in its built heritage, from prehistoric earth mounds to mediaeval monasteries and fortified town houses, a Georgian Cathedral and a 21st century Library (which holds regular exhibitions, workshops and concerts). The Georgian quarter also boasts the Bolton Library where you can find the smallest book in Ireland. With 3 mountain ranges nearby its a mecca for the outdoors. Cycling routes are endless! Sadly most visitors just overnight in Tipperary and miss out on so much. Instead of rushing from Dublin to Kerry like the masses, why not stay a little longer and explore Irelands Ancient East with advice from a guide who will help you find the interesting, less visited, less touristic places.
  • The room and bathroom we’re immaculately clean! Check in was easy, communication was prompt, and directions to her place were clear. • Steven’s place was great. We spent 7 nights in Ireland each in a different place and the beds here were the most comfortable. It was a cute little place with the hosts close by. We had a little trouble with our gps and had to contact Steven several times before we made our way there and back after dinner. Each time he was readily available and quite patient with us. The home was secluded and quiet yet just a few minutes into town. I will recommend his place to anyone I know travelIng to Ireland.

  • Gerry is a warm and welcoming host who will make you feel at home right away. He is always around to offer a cup of tea and to have a chat. I loved the social aspect of morning breakfast, which was delicious and kept me going all day. I would recommend staying here.

  • Would Definitely recommend Central House B&B to anyone staying in Tipperary Town.

    Patrick J2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little BnB on the Main drag. Gerry is a wonderful host and easy to talk to. Both he and his wife are also full of suggestions on things to see and do in the area.

    Margaret2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gerry is thoughtful and kind. We had a relaxing trip. The room was clean and easy to access.

  • Very central, Gerry very friendly host and breakfast excellent

    Eamon2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I felt so at home here at the bnb. As soon as I arrived, Gerry had tea and bickies waiting for me and was great conversation. My room was so cute, very clean, and had a beautiful view of the cute street below. Breakfast was at a time I picked and was a classic Irish fry up. Coffee and tea as well as cereal and oj, I felt like royalty. Not an incredible amount to do in Tipp Town, but I would 150% come back to tipp town purely to stay here and to visit Gerry and Dorothy again. 10/10 would recommend, didn’t want to leave, would live there if I could. Thank you for a beautiful weekend Gerry and Dorothy

Overlooking the big garden, we call this the balloon room- you can see why from the pictures! We also have a double room available if that suits your needs better.
  • We spend one night at Claire'shome. She and her husband are very helpful. Good location to walk to the Rock of cashel.

  • From the planning to the check-out everything is well organized by Claire. Clean, tidy and cosy bedroom. Claire is an excellent guide and provides leaflets and books about the area. Very quiet quarter. Rock of Cashel in short walking distance.

    Silvia2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place if you're staying in Cashel. Really close to downtown. Claire is very helpful and friendly.

    Cathy2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The twin room at Claire's had comfortable beds, was nicely decorated, and had nice touches like tea and coffee making facilities. The shared bathroom was a good size, and very clean. Claire was a lovely host. Claire's place is a short walk to shops and the Rock of Cashel. Not a lot was open in the evening for dinner, but it was more lively around morning tea and lunch time.

    Jessica2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Claire was so accommodating and gave us some great tips for what to see in the area! Place was clean, comfortable and a good location.

Therefore the table will be set and guests can make tea/coffee and can help themselves to breads/eggs/cereal & fruit. We live in a beautiful area with views of the Galtee Mountains from our back garden. The house is surrounded by a lovely country garden. Our home is open to Professional Travellers if they wish. As well as having this room in our home we also have A TWIN ROOM (2 single beds) available, sleeps 2 people. This room is listed under COUNTRY HOUSE NEAR ROCK OF CASHEL, CAHIR AND THURLES
I would recommend that you look at a site called, the virtualtourist, where you can check out Cashel, Co. Tipperary. Areas of attraction include the following: 1. Rock of Cashel - spectacular tourist attraction in Ireland 2. Hore Abbey, Cashel - a ruined cistercian monastery 3. Coolmore Stud, Fethard - Home to the most famous stallions in world 4. Mitchelstown Caves - explore a world without sun, without time, a world where man almost feels an intruder. 5. Cahir Castle - built in the 13th century and well preserved and one of the largest castles in Ireland. 6. Swiss Cottage, Cahir - a delightful cottage situated on an elevated site with access by stone steps. It was built in early 1800s. 7. The Vee - a spectacular scenice route through the Knockmaoldown Mts
  • Everything was great, room was very spacious and clean. We were allowed to cook our vomgebrachres dinner in the evening without problems ... Would definitely come back

  • We enjoyed our stay here. The garden is really beautiful and so is the rest of the house. The bed is really comfortable and a good breakfast was included.

    Camille2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location with a comfortable room and a beautiful and quiet garden. Everything has been well organized: detailed description with all relevant information in the house, breakfast well prepared. Unfortunately we didn't meet Padraig and Pauline in person, but we had contact by phone. Would definitively come back.

    Hariolf2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home was the most beautiful one we've stayed at so far! Lovely view from the dining room.

    Mary2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property a lovely place to stop and rest. Flexible check in, clean, private space. There is very limited shower time and the beds were very firm but overall a good value for what we paid. The gardens on the grounds were spectacular.

    Tara2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant place to stay when visiting Cashel. Warm welcome and friendly host.

    Ernest2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Before we left, Pauline sent us valuable information to find her house a little removed but so charming and quiet. On site, she welcomed us warmly and gave us a long time to share and discuss. It was great !

    Rachel2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation of Padraig and Pauline is a small (somewhat hidden) paradise! :) The breakfast was prepared very lovely every morning: homemade jam, fresh fruit and if you wanted there were also small egg pans available, where you could make mirror or scrambled eggs. If you looked from the kitchen you could see cows and while having breakfast in the dining room you could see a small part of the big garden with sheep in the background - simply Irish! :) The room was super clean and you really have enough space! Also the bathroom was clean; and fresh towels were available (they were even changed by Pauline on the second day!). The location is a great starting point for exploring Rock of Cashel, Cahir, Kilkenny, Waterford, Cork and the surrounding area in general! We can only recommend the accommodation with its lovely hosts!

Our house is located in a beautiful scenic country sitting overlooking the Galtee Mountains and a short distance to the historic Rock of Cashel.
  • Beautiful house 10 minutes by car from cashel (or Cahin), and therefore restaurants and pub. Full breakfast included. Edmund, Chris' dad is a friendly and accommodating host.

  • It was a great place and a great location to visit the Rock of Cashel with 10 minute drive from the famous attraction. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The house was quiet, which allowed us to have a great night's sleep. Breakfast was probably the highlight as it was very substantial and Edmund offered us a great variety.

    Gediminas2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional house and the owner is great!

  • Charming and comfortable home. The breakfast he served was perfect and light before a day of traveling. I was touched that Edmund (Chris’) father gave me a flower as we were parting. We carried this token all throughout Ireland and it meant so much in kindness and hospitality. Thank you Edmund! Stay here. :)

    Tiffany2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Chris's place. Edmond was a wonderful host and we had a very comfortable stay.

    Patrick2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this AirBnB for a layover on our journey to Dublin Airport. Edmond greeted us with a warm welcome when we arrived. He made us some tea and toast to enjoy in the sitting room. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was generous as well. We would highly recommend staying with Edmond!
