  • Jacqueline is an outstanding host, making sure I got to the house safely in the dark and the rain! The place itself is one end of a large house - including bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. It was a bit chilly in early spring, but plenty of blankets and heaters kept me warm inside. I went to take a workshop with "Embodied Archetypes" at nearby An Sanctoir, which I also recommend. Also enjoyed live music and a pint at Levis' bar. A very good value, lovely retreat.

  • Lovely hidden cottage with amazing view from the garden! Jaqueline had also good tips where to go for a late dinner. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Johanna2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jacqueline was a very friendly and welcoming host. The accommodation is out of town and very quiet. The space was comfortable and private, and the extra lounge area is a plus as it gives some extra space to spread out and relax in the evening. Recommended place.

  • Joannes place is very central and convenient to the town. It is everything we expected and more. Joanne was very helpful and thoughtful, leaving tea, coffee, milk etc It is a great spot for exploring west Cork and has some lovely restaurants and pubs in the area. We will definitely be back.

  • Joanne's place in Ballydehob is beautiful, in the best town in Ireland. Will definitely be back.

    Susan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights in Joanne’s cosy cottage. Joanne was the perfect host. She had provided us with all the basics (tea, bread, milk, etc) upon our arrival which was a lovely touch. She also had the stove set, all we had to do was put a match to it. Lighting the stove in the evenings kept the place lovely and warm. There’s no TV or internet in the cottage which, we all agreed, was a bonus. We spent each night playing cards, board games and almost completed one of Joanne’s 1000 piece puzzles (good old fashioned fun)!!!! Communication with Joanne was excellent. She made sure to keep us in the loop regarding Halloween activities in the town which were great craic for adults and children alike!! Ballydehob is a charming place and a wonderful hub to explore West Cork. We will definitely be back to stay in Cassidy Cottage!! Thanks again Joanne!

    Rachel2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne’s cottage is really something special. It’s full of character and charm. We really enjoyed cozying up in front of the fire with a glass of wine. There’s no tv or WiFi but that’s what makes it great, it’s the perfect place to get away from it all. It’s a short stroll to the excellent pubs in the town and Joanne’s shop is well worth a visit too, it’s got loads of interesting items. Joanne was a lovely host and a pleasure to deal with. We’ll be back to visit again soon!

Our place is off the beaten path near the stunning Wild Atlantic Way route. Secluded and tranquil Mt Kid. 90 minutes from Cork Airport and 2 hours west of Cork city, 15 min fro Ballydehob. Surrounded by working farms on 4 acres; an oasis of trees and home to a variety of bird life. Comfy bed with quality bedding. Mt Kid Cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and pets. We don’t do breakfast as such but provide you with some breakfast items.
What makes this place unique is that is the seclusion. We have a four person jacuzzi and infrared (healthy heat!) Sauna for guests to use. No need for bottled water, our well water is extraordinary! The cottage also has 3 heat sources including a wood/coal burning stove which in fact will heat most of the house. You also have use of a washer and dryer. We are on the premises to assist any needs that may arrive. The cottage is ideal for couples or an additional person as there is a sleeper sofa in a contained conservatory downstairs. Children over 7 welcome.
The photos say it all. It is a place of beauty and tranquility and especially appealing for those who want off the beaten path away from it all. Mount kid is the back drop which is easily climbed in 30 minutes for excellent views. No traffic! Forget your water bottle...our well water is live and cold straight from the ground and tastes as water should without chemicals.

The best part is the sauna and hot tub. Patty and Chris are lovely hosts- helpful warm and friendly. They went the extra mile to look after us and make our stay so special. Chris even made us sausage rolls when we came back from a walk. Highly recommend this place. We'll be back!

  • beautiful spacious house in a great location

    Julie2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in lots of air b n b places over the last few years but have to say Mikes is a favourite and we would recommend a stay there to anyone. We have a little boy who’s very ill and we were looking for somewhere we could go together to switch off from the world and we found it in Mikes beautiful home. The house is very cosy with everything you could possibly need. It’s so spacious and comfortable we spent many happy hours relaxing there, a favourite with the kids was the great playroom with a pool table and a foosball table hours of entertainment. The location of the house is perfect only a couple of minutes drive from schull which is a beautiful town with lots of loving places to eat and wander around. It’s also v close to Barley cove beach which we loved and Mizen Head. We had never been and it’s so worth a visit the views are sensational and there is a lovely coffee shop and interpretative centre well worth a visit. Mike was a great host communication before and during the visit was excellent and it was v easy to check in and out. He was an extremely generous host he had filled the fridge and gone above and beyond with providing us with food and drinks we needed to get us started. We cannot wait to stay there again and are already planning our next visit.

  • Joanne's place is fabulous. The perfect, classy house to host a group of friends. A well-appointed kitchen lends itself to cooking up delicious meals for all the gang. The bedrooms, while not being huge, are very tastefully decorated and each has its own style. In all, a highly-recommended destination in a beautiful corner of the country.

    Drew2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne’s house is fantastic. We had a group of 4 couples and the house fit us all comfortably. The interior was excellent and we appreciated the many amenities left by Joanne. The house is on the Main Street in Ballydehob just down from the pubs and shop, so a perfect location. Great value for money. Our only minor complaint was no WiFi. This was highlighted before we booked but we felt it was the only thing missing from an otherwise perfect Airbnb. Several of our group had work to do over the weekend and managed to get this done at the cafe down the road, but I probably wouldn’t book the house again if I were coming back and had to do some more work via the internet.

  • Lovely house , wonderful host in Joanne . I would highly recommend

    Daragh2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a wonderful few days in Joanne's lovely townhouse. It was very well equipped with great decor and spacious enough for 7 adults. It was also ideally located in the centre of Ballydehob above Joanne's shop which made check in super easy. We loved Ballydehob with it's coloured buildings and store fronts, great pubs, restaurants and friendliness. Joanne was a great host. She allowed us to check in early and said we didn't have to rush when leaving. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend it.

You won't hear many cars. The beds are comfy and warm. We stayed with a big group so were cooking every night, and made use of the freezer to hamdle our food! Can highly recommend, will stay again.

The White House is set on an acre at the head of a secluded valley, and sleeps 8 people. It's located in the hills above the towns of Bantry, Skibbereen and Ballydehob and is ideally situated for exploring the spectacular coastline of Cork & Kerry
Guests have access to the entire house and gardens. Quiet seclusion
  • Pat's place is absolutely gorgeous. The house is way more spacious that the photos suggest and is set in beautiful remote West cork, but also easily accessible (by car or taxi) to Ballydehob. The gardens and scenery are stunning. The house was very comfy. Pat is a great host. Quick to respond to messages and on hand with helpful suggestions. I couldn't recommend his place more. Thanks Pat!

  • A superb rustic house in a spectacular location. A must for those requiring a quiet get-away with access to nature and outdoor activities, coupled with great local cuisine. Pat and Regina very kindly arranged to send a lost wallet via registered post after we left. A great host.

  • From our very first communication with Pat we were super impressed with how helpful he was. He answered every question we had promptly and in a lovely friendly manner. Our trip was this Christmas and it was amazing. The house was even nicer than we imagined. Driving up on Christmas eve felt really special and Pat had wood for the fire in the house and even got our Turkey for us!! It was a bit cold but what do you expect in December and we soon got the house warmed up. The kitchen is fantastic and we cooked our whole Christmas dinner and ate in the sun room. Relaxing by the fire in the evenings was just lovely. There so much space in the house with 2 cosy sitting rooms, a huge kitchen, a sun room, downstairs bathroom and boot room, utility room, all the bedrooms and lovely outside space. It's a great location for exploring in the day. Lunch nearby in Ballydehob at Buds was gorgeous and you have to go into Levis's bar, it's amazing!! Pat provides lots of info on where to go nearby ( Barleycove beach is a must) and tips on where to get great local produce. I'm obsessed with Gubeen cheese, he even gave us a great recipe to use with that. This is a stunning house, top quality, great location and a wonderful host. We can't wait to come back. Thank you Pat for helping making our Christmas really unforgettable. To have the chance to stay in an amazing location in a great, great house was just a joy and we can't wait to come back.

  • Had a great time staying at Pat’s place. They were extremely accommodating to us. We left some things behind but they were quick to resolve the issue. Will definitely be returning if I’m in the area.

Welcome to Willow Tree cottage, a beautifully restored two bedroom traditional cottage set on 14 acres of rolling countryside with stunning sea views. Located near the vibrant village of Ballydehob, a perfect base to relax and unwind in nature or explore all that West Cork has to offer. Spectacular views can be enjoyed from the outdoor sitting areas or whilst walking the 1.5km of private nature track.
The open plan kitchen, dining and living space with wood burning stove are located on the first floor. On the ground floor are the two bedooms (one double with ensuite including shower, one with two singles), a bathroom with bath and shower and an entry hallway. A floor mattress and double pull out couch bed are available for a supplement of €10 per person per night. Travel cot and writers desk are available on request. One pet is welcome but this must be discussed with me prior to booking. The property and its surrounds aim to conserve/restore local wildlife and biodiversity, therefore expect to see evidence of foxes, pheasants, mallards, frogs and a variety of insects. Please be aware that there are wild ponds on the property and children must be supervised at all times. There are two houses on the property so there may be guests staying in the adjacent house.
Located on the Wild Atlantic Way, with pebble beaches and scenic coastline within walking distance, the area really is a nature lovers paradise. West Cork boasts sandy beaches, forestry, wild coastlines and mountains, historical sites, walkways and lakes, various festivals, lively farmers markets, music venues and much more, with something for all tastes within driving distance. The nearby village of Ballydehob has excellent cafes and restaurants (one of which has a Michelin star) and lively music venues. The market town of Skibbereen is nearby with several supermarkets and shops. The village of Schull is home to Irelands only planetarium and a sailing centre.

Traditional stone cottage in the heart of Ballydehob. Over 100 years old it was the village shoemakers workshop and home. It has been extended and developed but still maintains its character and charm through careful conservation and decoration.
The Shoemakers Cottage is a traditional stone cottage set in the heart of the village of Ballydehob. It was built over 100 hundred years ago as the village shoemakers workshop and home and while it has been extended and developed in more recent years it still maintains its old world character and charm thanks to careful conservation and thoughtful decoration. Staying in the Shoemakers Cottage allows one to forget the hassles of everyday life and fully immerse themselves in the peace and tranquillity of West Cork. The accommodation is spacious sleeping up to 7 people (3 doubles and 1 single) and all modern conveniences are included. It has a large real fire in the living room providing winter cosiness while at the back of the cottage is a beautifully secluded garden which provides very private and peaceful entertaining area in summer. The cottage is fully heated through-out with central heating.
The cottage is on the village main street of the quaint but lively Ballydehob village and is therefore ideally situated to enjoy all that the village has to offer including numerous pubs with live music, cafes, galleries and restaurants. We specifically like Rosie's bar and Noel the owner usually hosts music sessions at the weekend. Village restaurants include Buds, Antonio's (Italian) and several others. Ballydehob also provides a perfect base for exploring the spectacular Cork and Kerry coastline. Nearby towns include beautifully scenic Schull, Bantry, Baltimore and Skibbereen. Located on the Wild Atlantic Way it provides easy access to all the big tourist spots in West Cork/Kerry. Whale watching, pony trekking, fishing trips, island tours, regular farmer markets and sailing all available nearby as well as numerous walking and biking trails such as Sheeps Head and Goats Head. One of the most spectacular beaches in Ireland, i.e. Barley Cove, is an approximately 40 minute drive west from Ballydehob. While there visit Mizen head, the most southerly point in Ireland, for spectacular sea views and wild life watching.
  • This was our third stay at the Shoemakers House and we really enjoy our visits. This house is cozy, interesting, and very well located. Our interactions with the host have always been very prompt and helpful.

  • Ideal location right in the centre of Ballydehob, walking distance to local pubs and restaurants. Lovely clean cottage style house with loads of character. Plenty of space (fit 6 adults comfortably) with free on street parking just outside. Lovely outside area with table and chairs in the back.

  • Staying at The Shoemaker's Cottage for three nights in June is definitely going to have been one of the highlights of our summer! We had family from Canada visiting, so we choose Ballydehob as our base for exploring West Cork. It was a great idea! Ballydehob is a lovely village, and the cottage is right in the centre. Lots of nice pubs and restaurants. The house was so charming, spotlessly clean, spacious, and the back garden with huge table was lovely for summer aperitifs! Brilliant well-stocked kitchen for cooking, with plenty of equipment, good hobs oven etc. Lots of crockery The decor is gorgeous, and a great authentic Irish experience for anyone looking for something charming, homey and traditional! Reminds me of the Weasleys' house in Harry Potter :) All the highlights of West Cork accessible by car (but West Cork is really a highlight in itself, so whichever way you go, guaranteed loveliness!) Thanks a million Jane and John, we'll be back for sure!

  • Great place to stay! Stylish cottage that’s very spacious, great rooms and a lovely garden. We came down to stay for the film festival in Schull and it was so convenient for getting in and out to Schull. Place looked just as good as in the photos, would highly recommend for anyone

  • Location location location....this house is right in the village of ballydehob and is so convenient. Parking was not a problem, and aside from any traffic passing there was no noise factor. The garden is a little sun trap and we had the opportunity to sit out for a few hours one evening playing cards...not something to be taken for granted in Ireland during April!! The house itself is interesting and quaint with lots of quirky bits dotted throughout the house. The kitchen had everything you could need, an€dthe beds were very comfortable. It was the perfect size house for 4 adults and two children. John was very responsive and helpful, check in and check out were zero hassle. we definitely intend to return. Enjoy!

  • The house is a delightful place with lots of interesting details and all the comforts of home. It is warm, cozy, and easy to live in. It is located in a great town with excellent pubs, a natural foods store, and very friendly folks. This is our second time staying here and we hope to do so again.

    Karma2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I went to Ballydehob to attended my daughters wedding at Eccles Hotel. My son in laws family lives in the beautiful Ballydehob. We loved the fabulous Shoemakers House, cozy for a couple or large enough for a big family. My son, daughter in law and two grandchildren stayed a few days with us. We were contacted by Jane’s father and asked if we’d like a cot set up for the baby, this was extremely helpful. There is a petrol station right across the street, we were able to pick up grocery items or there is Hudson’s Wholefoods down the street where I was able to buy vegan products. It’s a beautiful home, well equipped with a host that is easily accessible. We would most definitely stay again when visiting family.

Kilbronogue House is our stylish retreat from city life on the Wild Atlantic Way. It can be yours too. Watch the sea and sky change from our stylish, private country house. It is an extremely spacious house to sleep as many as 8 with four bathrooms, 3 of which are en suite. There is so much to do inside and out of the house you will never be bored. We prefer a minimum of 4 nights booking but 7 nights or longer is ideal for exploring the area. The longer you stay the cheaper it is.
Our home is a 250 year old farmhouse set amid the natural surroundings of West Cork's Wild Atlantic Way that we have made into a luxurious, comfortable modern home where you can relax among our books and art, which we hope you enjoy. We like space so we designed the house to be open and airy but the underfloor heating makes sure you are never cold - on sunny days the solar panels do all the work for you. It has a 360 degree view across Carberry's 100 Isles, to Schull harbour. Fastnet Light flashes through on a clear night and you witness the Wild Atlantic Way live each day. 10 minutes from swimming in Deereenatra, miles of botharíns with hedgerows full of birds and wild flowers all year round. Good for couples/families, but extra care needed with children or people with mobility difficulties as we have both a spiral and an open staircase. Sitting room The wood-burning stove in the sitting room is perfect for wild days looking out across the fields and sea to Fasnet... We provide a never ending supply of wood there for you! The internet and wifi is set up for international working as we ourselves work from here when at home. Sleeping arrangements You will have sole use of the house during your stay. There are 4 main bedrooms and a further single sofa in the main living room upstairs. The two main double bedrooms are open plan with contemporary partitions between the en suite bathroom and bedroom rather than conventional walls and doors. The twin room has separate en suite. There is a single room on the ground floor with use of the modern wet room off the boot room on the ground floor. All the bedrooms have comfortable beds with deeply comfortable mattresses and toppers for ultimate sleep. Boot Room The boot-room is ideal to come home to after muddy walk, tramping around our 2 acre wooded garden or indeed a fishing trip. Throw your clothes into the machine and dryer, jump into the wet room shower and .........relax! There is an additional large fridge/freezer there for extra supplies and ice! Kitchen Our kitchen is fully equipped (including microwave) and has spacious island for casual eating. Our dining hall, is next to the kitchen and the table accommodates 8 comfortably but can manage 10 with elbow room. We have arranged a local agent to manage your stay as we are unlikely to be around. They are local and know us personally and can sort out any problems you might have or answer any questions. All our trades people are also neighbours so respond to any problems immediately.
Things to do nearby Sea, hills, countryside, sun, wind, rain, weather racing across the sky, miles of tiny empty country roads to run on or ramble on marked ways, great road cycling and sea swimming for enthusiasts (Schull tri-club very popular) and even pool and gym now in New Haven Hotel in Schull.....villages of Schull and Ballydehob 3 miles away for everything you want - great restaurants, pubs, wholefood shops. Small but perfectly formed slow food markets in Schull Sunday, Ballydehob Wednesday Full scale Farmers Markets in Bantry Friday Skibbereen Saturday with slow food, organic produce, locally roasted coffees, livestock, crafts etc etc. Hardly any time when there is not a festival on Fastnet Film Festival Schull; Calves Sailing Week Schull; Ballydehop Jazz Festival; Ballydehob Country Western Music Festival; Taste of West Cork Food Festival Skibeereen; West Cork Chamber Festival Bantry; Bantry Literary Festival; Masters of Tradition Bantry; West Cork Fit-Up Theatre Festival; Castletownsend Church Music Festival - these bring the best of international singers, musicians, actors and directors for small intimate showings/gigs across West Cork - culture as it should be! Do ask me and I can direct you to your areas of interest.
  • We stayed here with our 3 and 5 year old and had a fabulous time. The house is absolutely gorgeous and spacious. Its worth mentioning that the 2 staircases wouldn’t be great / safe for younger kids. The house is between schull and ballydehob with lots to do in both places and further afield. Good walking trails on back roads nearby to the house. Sinead was kind and considerate and a great communicator. Highly recommended.

  • This is a great place for a get away for a large family or group of friends. The house is lovely with great space for entertaining including a bbq and it’s near to loads of great beaches and amenities. Sinead was able to provide a high chair and cot for our toddler which was great. The only slight inconvenience was having to spend time taking our waste to the dump/recycling center as requested.

    Aoife2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sinéad's place, loads of space. The kids really enjoyed it and they're tough customers! Well located for exploring the area, communication was quick and easy and we really enjoyed our holiday.

  • A really beautifully refurbished West Cork farmhouse. Great views out to the Fastnet rock from the windows, and easy access to some of the best pier jumping available at Dreenatra 😄

Recently renovated home on main street Ballydehob. Sleeps 6 - 8 comfortably. Excellent facilities. On street parking. Great location. Park nearby. Wonderful walks around this beautiful village. You get the best of both worlds. Beaches are with in driving distances and you have the excellent pubs and restaurants within a hundred yards of the house. Perfect for family holidays. Perfect for weekend breaks.
This recently renovated home used to be a grocery shop like so many of the other houses on Main Street Ballydehob. It was originally rented by my family for decades before it was finally purchased from the Landlord circa 1945. The shop front was changed to a house front in 1988 when grants were given by the government to upgrade houses in rural Ireland. We have now open planned the downstairs to give it that old shop feel. The new kitchen is where the old counter of the shop was. All the work on the house was done by local tradesmen. The kitchen and the furniture are all hand made by Alistair Coughlan a talented local carpenter. Derek Whelton painter and decorators provide the sleek finish throughout the house and have restored the flooring upstairs to its former glory. Ken Magnier plastered the open planned downstairs and rear garden. Electrical system was provided by Alan Barry Electrician.
Ballydehob is were i used to spend my summers as a child. Its ideal for families with children. There is a lovely local childrens park under the shadow of the 12 Arch bridge. The place is steeped in history. From the railway and the viaduct. Danno Mahony world champion wrestler. Land league meetingz at Fanny's rock located behind the School on greenmount road. To Titanic survivors in 1912. To name but a few. The old bank on the main street is now the tourist information office. They are very helpful and have their finger on the pulse on whats on in the town and in west cork. The local public houses are world renowned for their welcome and for the craic.
  • A perfectly located house in the beautiful village of Ballydehob. A perfect base to explore the area . House is beautifully presented and had everything needed for a stay. Close to local shops, cafes and restaurants. Very clear pre arrival information from host.Strongly recommended.

  • My stay in the barn (though unfortunately cut short because of the travel restrictions) was absolutely idyllic! I had really settled in and Aisling and her family, especially her mum, made me feel totally at home. With the stove on it is very cosy and the space has been renovated really beautifully. Located in a peaceful pocket of wild West Cork, it is the perfect place to get away from it all.

  • Stunning place. Really private and peaceful. It's like something out of little house in the prairie!! Like a fairytale cottage. Aisling and her family were really accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend this lovely cute place.

Cosy, bright, warm wooden retreat type cabin set in a quiet rural location, a mile or so from Ballydehob. Yoga studio on site, with classes available. Hot tub and hammock for relaxation.
Heated by wood stove, the cabin is a real retreat type space. self contained, with fully equipped kitchen area, hot shower and compost loo ( very simple and easy!) Set on its own in a little secluded field near the host Yoga studio. Guests can also avail of Yoga classes if they wish, making their time at the cabin a real re treat!
Ballydehob is a thriving and scenic village, located on the Wild Atlantic Way. With great cafes, wholefood store, post office, garage, and music bars. We are not far from the Sheeps Head Way walking route, and Mizen head with beautiful beaches just down the road.
  • Lovely cosy cabin surrounded by green fields. Very comfortable and wonderful to wake up surrounded by nature. Very good location for travelling around West Cork. Arabella was a lovely host and we look forward to staying there again!

  • Fantastic stay with everything you need for a cozy getaway. Amazing hot tub experience and a welcoming host!

    Treasa2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely, clean, and comfortable cabin. It’s in a lovely rural location that is still very close to Ballydehob and a great base for going to other parts of west Cork.

    Ciara2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Arabella's was great! The cabin is bright, nicely decorated, and very private and peaceful, nestled amongst the hills. We visited in June with the foxgloves and cornflowers were in full bloom in the garden, but I'd love to visit again in the depths of winter and get cosy with the wood burner. We were greeted with a yummy homemade fruit-loaf, and Arabella was very helpful in getting us settled in. We ran out of time to experience the hot-tub, as it take a little while to heat up, and there was too much going on in the thriving village of Ballydehob, which is a five minute drive away, or half an hour walk (though take car, as there is no footpath on the road). Will definitely come again!

    Niamh2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful two nights in the small wooden hut. It was totally comfortable and really exceeded our expectations. We wanted to stay longer, but we wanted to see something of the rest of the country. The cottage was totally idyllic in the landscape ... the perfect environment for a cozy time by the fireplace. There was nothing wrong with us. The kitchen utensils were excellent, so you could cook something good. The most convincing was simply this beautiful peace and relaxation. Arabella herself was also very helpful and outgoing. That's how the communication worked well. If you're looking for peace, relaxation and nature, this accommodation is just the thing and we highly recommend it to anyone as it was one of our highlights in Ireland :-)

    Madleen2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Ireland, because of our stay in the cosy cabin! The cabin is really quiet located in a beautiful area. From there you could go to so many great places of Ireland. Also the hospitality was very good! And the cabin was decent and clean. Thank you for that!

    Daphne2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • If you like a quiet and unintrupted break this is amazing just a few cows around. And great country scenery.

  • Highly recommended for a rural retreat! Locally we enjoyed visiting Garnish Island, eating in ‘Box of Frogs’ in Bantry, a folk session in Levis Bar (Ballydehob), and swimming in the sea en route to Mizen Head - take the scenic route after Goleen to discover the great beaches! Enjoy! James and Simon

This unique rural accommodation was originally a stone cow barn, built in the 1860s. The barn has been renovated into a minimalist, bright, airy space and is located on a small peninsula at the head of Roaring Water Bay in West Cork. It is at the end of an unpaved lane, surrounded by trees and fields where you can sink into a deep quiet.
The barn is entirely private – just the sounds of birds (both sea and freshwater), a few cows, as well as the occasional call of seals – that sound like a caoineadh – from the small islands just offshore at night – the perfect place to “unplug” from the internet and e-mails. It is next to the main cottage (where we live), but behind it so you won’t be disturbed. The queen-size bed is made up with linen sheets and duvet. Guests have access to a private bathroom in the main cottage which is about ten steps on an uneven stone path from the barn. The barn is fully heated in colder months. There are coffee and tea-making facilities with a selection of organic coffees, black teas and herbal teas, including some from our garden. We offer a simple breakfast of organic dry cereals, organic fruits and yoghurt and bread for toast if you'd like. Please let us know of any specific dietary needs in advance. We're happy to accommodate.
West Cork is a particularly stunning part of Ireland on the “Wild Atlantic Way”. It’s a well-known haven for all kinds of artists, artisan food producers and freshly-caught fish. We are 4.5 km from the village of Ballydehob, which is an 8-minute drive or a 45-minute walk. Ballydehob has been described as “the hippest village in Ireland”, filled with an eclectic variety of music festivals throughout the year, an award-winning pub which regularly hosts international musicians on tour, a Michelin-star restaurant as well as other excellent restaurants, food shops and pubs.

  • You won’t be disappointed. We’ve stayed in many properties across the globe and none can compare to the beauty of this location. The house had everything we needed for our group of 8 that spanned from children to older folks with mobility challenges. Sharon was a great host.

  • This could not be a more tranquil, beautiful holiday home. Sharon made it easy for us -from beginning to end. This was a very difficult place to leave!

  • Stayed here with a group of 11 friends for New Years and had the most amazing time. The property is stunning, as you can gather from the photos. I couldn’t fault a single thing about our stay. As a group who love to cook we were especially impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked. It had everything you could need. The puzzles, fire place and hot tub were also special features that made our stay extra lovely.

  • If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to come! Fabulous views, gorgeous setting, well appointed house and wonderful garden! The kitchen is well stocked with basics and a very thoughtful welcome pack will get you started. Sharon was easy to reach and very responsive.

  • Excellent place to stay close to town centre

    Shane2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • This house was simply lovely and a great base to explore west cork. The proximity of it to the town meant it was only a short 2 minute walk along a pathway into Ballydehob itself and all the pubs and of course the Restaurant Chestnut which we had booked. The space was warm and comfortable and had every amenity you could think of. Thoughtful touches like homemade brown bread and milk were waiting on arrival and the check in/check out procedure was seamless with Patti a lovely host and very easy to contact. Will be back!

    Ciaran2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Patti's place is an exceptional 2-bedroom house which is bright, spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped with some lovely extra touches by the host. The location is magnificent, with Ballydehob village only a few minutes away on foot. We had a fantastic time!

    Joe2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Patti's house is so comfortable; sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, has excellent full kitchen with lots of crockery, pots and pans. The sitting room is gorgeous, a relaxing and bright place to sit or watch the excellent TV! The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable and the bedding and towels were lovely. The location is great, within a walk of Ballydehob village and lots of restaurants and bars which was great in the evenings as we did not need to drive. There is plenty of space to park a car and the view from the house was pretty. It is a really comfortable home and I would highly recommend it. Patti is very friendly and helpful and provided some essential food items for our arrival. It was a very high standard of accommodation. A great holiday!

    Sarah2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodation. Lots of space, good facilities. I would book again anytime.

    Michael2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for exploring West Cork. 5 min walk from Ballydehob and 2 mins from the playground. Nice comfortable 2 bed house was perfect for my wife and I and our 18 month old. We had a lovely weeks holiday. Patti was very helpful in anything we requested. Would recommend as a base for visiting West Cork.

  • Such a lovely place to stay. It's exactly what you expect when you read about it. So cosy and peaceful, with delightful hosts and beautiful surroundings. Nearby Ballydehob is great for eating and the coast in the area interesting to explore. We'll be back I'm sure.

  • We stayed for one night. The pod was cosy, comfortable and really nice change to the norm. Everything needed for a five-star camping experience was provided. Carol was very friendly and helpful. Ballydehob is lovely, quiet town but with nice bars and cafes and plenty of things to do in the area. Would definitely go back.

  • If you like camping with a comfortable bed - but aren’t fond of clamping- this is the place to be. In the cost teardrop, a super tiny caravan, you can sleep and cook. The reception is very friendly and welcoming. The bed was made and towels were supplied without asking.

New to market, five star accommodation with breathtaking views overlooking Roaring Water Bay, Kilcoe, West Cork. Fully furnished to a very high standard. Hot tub, sun loungers and outside dining area. No open fire in property. Located near the end of a country road by the sea: approx. 2.5km off the N71 in a quiet rural setting. Close driving distance to numerous visitor attractions along the Wild Atlantic Way in Schull, Skibbereen, Baltimore and surrounding areas.
Quiet rural location with beautiful views of the sea and surrounding countryside
  • I've had the great luck in my life to have experienced 5* hotels and a large variety of amazing self-catering accommodation, this place is the nicest accommodation accross the board that I've ever stayed in. Myself and my wife chose this as our honeymoon destination as we wanted to get away from everyone and everything and just chill, which a hottub on a patio with THAT view, really ticks the box of. Had we wanted to have a more active holiday, the place is 2min from the N71 with all the lovely tourist spots along that and just off it. All in all whether it's an escape or a sightseeing holiday you're after, this gaf will tick all the boxes. Amazing place, WILL be staying again.

  • Super stylish, modern, contemporary and comfortable property set in a completely breathtaking and tranquil location. Mike and Ann-Marie were exceptional hosts!

    Trish2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! The house was sparking clean and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. It was even better than in the photos. The setting is beautiful - uninterrupted sea views which can be enjoyed from the hot tub. Mike and Ann Marie gave us great tips for where to swim in the sea locally - there's a small cove just around the corner which is a short cycle / walking distance. There's so much to do locally - the location is great. Close to lovely walks, cycles, hikes, nice towns. Highly recommend + hope to come back soon!

  • We took our one year old glamping for her birthday, this was definitely more for us than for her though! It is such a cosy wee camper, plenty of room in there for the three of us, and with sockets and lights inside so very convenient for charging phones etc. Outside you have storage, a gas cooker, a plug in cool box, utensils, seating and more. We put baby to bed, and had our supper outside as dusk was setting on the most beautiful evening - perfect. Thank you Carol, we hope to be back.

  • Aislings place is in a beautiful location in the woods, it is sparkling clean, the teardrop caravans are quirky and cute and have plenty of sleeping space. I would highly recommend it as an interesting cross between camping and caravaning.

  • Super weekend at Ashlings. We'd our dog and daughter with us. Our daughter had a ball in the gardens. Very clean throughout, comfortable beds. One thing to improve is the water pressure in the shower.

    Darren2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location close to ballydehob, extremely picturesque surroundings and very warm hospitable kind hosts. The addition of mike the dog, Dave the goat and the two cats a particular highlight for our 2 year old!

    Colm2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 pleasant nights with our two daughters who took advantage of the garden and toys made available. The addiction is cosi, just what it takes. We sleep well and quiet. Be careful: there is no possibility of cooking except a great barbecue. This allowed us to discover in the evening the restaurants of the town without breaking the bank and test grill the local meat! Aisling and her mother Carole are very helpful and love to share their projects. We recommend this experience :-)

    Pierre2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely weekend at Aisling’s place in Ballydehob. Our two dogs and ourselves were made very welcome by the family . Nothing was too much trouble. The house is located in a lovely countryside setting within walking distance of the village . The annex itself was spotless and really comfortable. We loved it and will be back again !

    Wayne2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fab stay! Aisling and her family greeted us warmly, and were present but not invasive for the entirety of our stay. We got some great dinner recommendations, a lift into town, and a lovely little tour of their property. The space we stayed in was cozy but with plenty of space - it was too warm to light the fire but I imagine under chillier conditions we could have spent many an hour reading and drinking coffee in front of the fire. The house is maximum a 15 minute walk into town, which was perfect for a stroll home after dinner on a warm summer evening. Ballydehob is also a fab village to visit, with plenty of options for dining and drinking - by chance we stopped in for a monthly singalong tradition, and my husband was roped into dusting off his party piece! We'd love to come back again (but stay for more than just two nights)!

  • Beautiful spot in West Cork.

    Kort2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from three night stay with our dog missy who had a great time interacting with Dave the goat and Mike the lab. Super location for exploring the area of West Cork, with the local town Ballydehop offering some lovely places to eat with cosy pubs to relax in. The house is very comfy, especially beds, with some nice treats left for us on arrival, loved the fresh milk. Aisling and her family were lovely to interact with also. Just to note no stand up shower, only bath with hand held shower head, also curtain door in bathroom, which was fine for us but might not suite everybody. Thanks for a great stay,

Caravans very comfortable though maybe bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper during rain. Everything was spotless. The views were breathtaking. Close to Ballydehob which has fantastic pubs such as Levi’s. Not far from Schull which is a gateway to loads of water activities!
