Places to stay in Ballydehob
I restored this cottage from 2003 with love and every ounce of my soul has been poured into bringing it to a cosy retreat perfect for two or a small family or 4 close friends. Take time to Hike, Bike, Read, Write, Draw, Think, Play, Live &make Love. There is a large extension which is another house which can be rented separately or together if you have a larger group. Thick stone walls means there is excellent sound proofing. You would not notice the guests next door unless you meet them.
Hello there, If you love amazing views of the sea in front and the peace and quiet of the countryside, then this place is for you. Sleeps one or 2 couples comfortably.(there are 2 bedrooms with a double bed in each. there is also a single bed in the bigger bedroom. I have a fold out couch downstairs. 4 people can be accommodated but then again how close of friends are you? My cottage really suits people who love the country cottage feel and relaxed atmosphere, if you love monotone hotels and convenience to towns/shops/arcades this is not for you. The entertainment on offer can be having a cuppa while watching the two baby bunnies playing in my wild garden and somehow avoiding my visiting fox who almost daily pops by.....also we two great local pubs with friendly people and good cheer....also one does really good food. This is a cottage rental rather than a bed and breakfast. Some dried foods I leave you just in case you arrive and have forgotten to get shopping, even thou Short and long term rentals are possible, small or large groups, just ask and I shall see if I can make it possible for your situation. It's a quiet neighbourhood, occasional tractor factor, rabbits, foxes, migrating swallows....you get the picture....relaxation, views, perfect for relaxing get aways. My cottage is about 100 plus years old. It is open plan down stairs with kitchen diner one side and sitting room with stove. It has two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. I restored it and lived in it since (URL HIDDEN) had been derelict with roof falling in no windows or doors so it has been a labour of love and now I happy to rent it to people who will enjoy it and have a great experience on the penninsula. I built on and I live in the "West Wing" mostly although I often live with my boyfriend but sometimes I have a weekend of R and R in my cottage where I read books and invite friends over and have tea in front of the fire and play scrabble.... There is something magical about it....everybody loves the cosy feeling. I prefer to only accept minimum of 3 nights bookings. It is a lovely penninsula and I'm sure you won't regret 3 nights staying here. I can offer a variety of accommodation as in if it's a larger group you can have the "West Wing" which has another 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and dance/yoga floor. I can put in a futon or pull out couch in the cottage just ask and see if I can sort out your situation. I am in the middle of nowhere but there's nowhere else I'd rather be having been around the world I've come home to Ahakista. 1 hr 45 mins drive from Cork city/airport, 17 km from bantry town, no bus services to Ahakista . No trains down here etc. You need a car and a Sat Nav or a map and a good sense of adventure and an ability to ask for directions. It's beautiful and is perfect for folk who like hill walking and going off for picnics or lunches out and drives to ring of Kerry and the five penninsulas. Perfect base to go explore from. Thanks for checking out my profile I'm now almost 3 years being a member of Airbnb and really excited by the concept of making the global community welcome in my home . I backpacked around the world for 2 years and wish this concept was available back then. I used to wander into villages and ask to be hosted for a fee, I do believe that it enriched my experiences greatly. I will guide you/give directions/ advice if you want or leave to discover by yourselves as you wish. The original cottage is over 100 years old and I have retained as much of the original features. I've got underfloor heating (winter time) and a lovely stove which is not only good for atmosphere but it's cosy in the not so balmy evenings. Wooden floors, rustic feel, open plan kitchen diner/ sitting room. If it's a wet weekend and you can't get out and about walking! You could paint, draw, read, write, cuddle up on the couch in front of the fire. I like to play board games and have a large selection and books/dvds/music. There is also the local bars which can be really lovely with open fires and live music or sitting out and having a BBQ watching the sun setting over the bay. Food: Restaurants/café/bars with food in the area, information pack/maps/guide books/walking maps etc. available in the house. Hope to see you here. Sheila
Peaceful countryside with panoramic views of rolling hills hugging the valley of a patchwork of forty shades of green. A close knit community of people who have grown up together and look out for each other. If you ever wanted to find an idyllic life this is the place to live. I wish I was there more often.
  • True Wild Atlantic experience! Wonderful place. :)

  • Sheila is an excellent host! Very quick to respond and helpful with house and local tips. The cottage is lovely, clean and super cosy. The views are even more amazing! Loved being so near the sea front. We’d love to come back sometime :)

  • Sheila's place is in a stunning area and with her tips in hand we had a fantastic time exploring Sheep's Head Peninsula

    Rachel2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila's place is so relaxing, quiet, cozy and every room has an incredible view of the surrounding countryside.

    Ivan2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Two of us stayed at Sheila's place for three nights. We had a real great time. The house waa perfect for us, cozy and warm with a fireplace and lovely kitchen. We didn't even feel the storm Brendan while hiding behind thick walls of this house. The location is amazing, so much to do nearby. We had lovely chats with Sheila and got lots of tips for the best ways to explore the beautiful Sheeps head and nearby area. Definitely will be back!

    Kristina2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cottage! It was the perfect place for our holiday respite during our travels in Ireland. Sheila puts so much love and care into her place that it is a true pleasure to be there. We love the remote setting, the incredible views of the Bay, and the peace and tranquility. Can't wait to come back!

  • What a delightful place to stay! This is a really gorgeous home in a very special location. We were lucky enough to snuggle by the fire listening to the rain one day, but also get out and about exploring the beautiful Sheep’s Head peninsula too. Sheila is a great host and we really felt lucky to stay in such a nice place.

Our warm and welcoming cottage, boasts an original inglenook fireplace with solid fuel burning stove and exposed stone. The walls are at least one meter thick and the cottage predates the Irish famine.
This unique cottage is 5 kilometers from the village of Baltimore. There is a music studio on site and the hosts offer a range of creative options, such as recording, songwriting and video. There is no light pollution, so star gazing is fantastic. The property overlooks the Atlantic and area is well know for whale and bird watching.
Peace and tranquility married with the rugged landscape makes Spain, Baltimore unique. Dramatic coastlines along with ruins of old cottages and breathtaking cliff top views are unequaled. Lough Hyne, Irelands first marine nature reserve and saltwater lake, connected to the sea by rapids is also close-by.
  • We had a wonderful stay in Aisling's cottage. It is very cosy and clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. We loved the stove fireplace and the gardens. The area is also very peaceful with lots of walks and beautiful scenery, but also close to Baltimore and Skibbereen for grocery shopping etc. Would highly recommend this lovely place.

  • My husband and I had a great time at the cottage. The hosts are very friendly and always very helpful if needed. Anytime we came back after a long day there was a warm fire in the fireplace. They also have two lovely dogs (golden retrievers). Thank you for being such great hosts.

  • Fantastic spot, great house, lovely location. Spotless, charming, easy to get the hosts, very accommodating.

  • Our stay here was perfect. The space was so cozy and in the most beautiful setting. Cannot wait to come visit again soon!

    Courtney2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing 3 day break in this refurbished Irish cottage. Aisling and Donagh were fantastic hosts - with the fire lit and fresh brown bread on arrival. The weather was wild but this only added to the cosiness of our stay as we curled up while it stormed outside. Donagh relit the fire for us each evening so the place was cosy on our return, and was kind enough to give us plenty of recommendations for the area. We had our dog Jack with us too who loved it as much as we did. We would highly recommend this as a venue for a romantic escape to the Wild Atlantic West. Thanks again to Aisling and Donagh for a great stay!

  • Super comfy cottage to chill and enjoy the beautiful nature around. I came back after a year because it’s the perfect location to get a good rest and become zen, it’s so quit you only hear the wind and the sea!

    Rozemarijn2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quaint cottage, perfect for our winter getaway. Aisling is a great host, made us feel very welcome and had everything we needed ready for our arrival... including some fine wholemeal bread and the fire already lit. Perfect... thanks Aisling

    Hugh2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at this cottage twice now, and we would love to stay there again. The beds are comfy, the bathroom and kitchen are spotless, and sitting by the fire is so relaxing. There are also gorgeous views from the property, and cliffs within walking distance. Both Baltimore and Skibbereen are quick and easy to get to (as long as you don't mind narrow roads!) and the hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I love this place!

Beautiful wooden chalet overlooking Bantry Bay on the Sheeps Head. Within 2 miles of the town centre and all its amenities. Designed for people craving an idyllic setting to relax in peace, but close enough to all the attractions Bantry has to offer. We pride ourselves on providing a genuine and thoughtful experience for our guests.
The Cabin is a beautiful, welcoming natural space that is always warm and bright. Situated on the famous walking path; The Goats Path and The Wild Atlantic Way. The cabin is off the main road and enjoys a peaceful and tranquil setting overlooking the sea. It is within two miles of Bantry and one mile from The Westlodge Hotel and Leisure Centre.
Our neighbourhood is so nice and peaceful, we are on the Beach/Dromcloc road which is adjacent to the main road, which means we don't have the traffic of other roads. A ten minute scenic walk in one direction and you arrive at the airstrip with it's breathtaking views and ocean-side walk into town. Whilst going five to ten minutes in the opposite direction you arrive at a secluded seaside beach fed by an ambling river. You couldn't ask for more.
  • The cabin was one of the most beautiful, lovely and peaceful place we have ever stayed in. It was worth each km drove from Dublin... Bean and Irene are really friendly, and the place is still better than we had thought... We will definitely come back!

    Rodolfo2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, quirky, comfortable place to stay. The location is fantastic, with amazing views over the water. It is actually better than the photographs show. Inside is colourful and full of character. Bean and Irene were very welcoming and communication was good. We had a lovely two days exploring locally. Recommend Healy’s Pass for fabulous views.

  • This was just as lovely as you’d imagine from the pictures. Bean and Irene made us feel very welcome and we got to meet the whole family including the pets. The place was comfortable and warm and we will definitely look to stay here WHEN we return

  • Got this as a gift for my parents (1 night stay) and they loved it. Said the cabin was fab and the views amazing. Irene and Bean were very responsive and easy to get ahold of. Thanks again xx

  • What a little gem! So happy to have found this Airbnb! So cute and quirky and the hosts were so welcoming! The whiskey barrel hot tub was such a treat surrounded by fairy lights, looking over Bantry Bay! The cat and dogs were also so friendly! Will definitely be returning

Our place is off the beaten path near the stunning Wild Atlantic Way route. Secluded and tranquil Mt Kid. 90 minutes from Cork Airport and 2 hours west of Cork city, 15 min fro Ballydehob. Surrounded by working farms on 4 acres; an oasis of trees and home to a variety of bird life. Comfy bed with quality bedding. Mt Kid Cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and pets. We don’t do breakfast as such but provide you with some breakfast items.
What makes this place unique is that is the seclusion. We have a four person jacuzzi and infrared (healthy heat!) Sauna for guests to use. No need for bottled water, our well water is extraordinary! The cottage also has 3 heat sources including a wood/coal burning stove which in fact will heat most of the house. You also have use of a washer and dryer. We are on the premises to assist any needs that may arrive. The cottage is ideal for couples or an additional person as there is a sleeper sofa in a contained conservatory downstairs. Children over 7 welcome.
The photos say it all. It is a place of beauty and tranquility and especially appealing for those who want off the beaten path away from it all. Mount kid is the back drop which is easily climbed in 30 minutes for excellent views. No traffic! Forget your water bottle...our well water is live and cold straight from the ground and tastes as water should without chemicals.
  • Absolutely fantastic place to stay, had a wonderful getaway. The hosts were amazing and the place had so much to offer hidden away in rural west Cork

    Grainne2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is the perfect getaway in the middle of gorgeous countyside. The house was clean, warm and cosy. The area upstairs is perfect for chilling out and reading. The best part is the sauna and hot tub. Patty and Chris are lovely hosts- helpful warm and friendly. They went the extra mile to look after us and make our stay so special. Chris even made us sausage rolls when we came back from a walk. Highly recommend this place. We'll be back!

    Maria2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little romantic retreat in a beautiful remote location in West Cork. Fantastic hosts!

    Thomas2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was so much beyond our expectation that I would recommend to all. A beautiful location - So isolated and beautiful in the wilderness of west Cork with magnificent facilities! The jacuzzi was readied for us on arrival and our whole experience from then was beyond expectation!

    Mícheál2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic trip, this is a real gem tucked away in rural Ballydehob! The scenery was honestly breathtaking and peace and quiet there was just so special! The weather wasn't great during our stay which gave us all the more reason to utilise the beautiful space cooking and doing yoga and reading! Honestly the nicest stay I've had in Ireland so far! Host so kind and helpful! We ventured into Schull and Skibb markets and had amazing food and coffee! Couldn't recommend enough! Hopefully we will be back!

    Eva2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for an amazing place. We had an awesome weekend, relaxing and enjoying the sauna and jacuzzi. Cant wait to go back.

  • The Tiny House will not disappoint any one looking for a farmhouse Irish experience. The little touches of the house were clearly done with much love for the home and land. Patti & Chris are so welcoming and generous. I would recommend their home to anyone and we will certainly be going back!

  • Peace, quiet, beautiful views, no light pollution, and waking to the sound of birdsong. Perfect. Just a very short drive to Bantry which is also lovely. Wood burning stoves in the evening added to the wonderful feeling of staying within a rural idyll. Good value and a very friendly, helpful host.

    Adrian2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely old style house about 5-10 mins outside Bantry. Some firing on arrival, Bring firing if you plan to stay a few days the stoves make it homely and warm! Great for a peaceful break and plenty nearby - Sheep’s head walk is great. Jerome was very helpful and quick to reply to any queries. Balcony is great for a cuppa in the morning or as the sun goes down (if your lucky enough to have good weather).

    Aoife2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was without the doubt one of our favourite places to stay. We had three great evenings here, and we had some time to explore surrounding area. Jerome gave us important tips about the local attractions and good restaurants to visit which was much appreciated. House was located in beautiful countryside and decorative details around the house that have made place feel unique and special. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

    Ana2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very cozy with a fireplace in the living room and a lot of places to chill. The location is great to explore the nature around the area and just a 15 minute drive to Bantry. Would always come here again.

    Judith2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is fabulous. We arrived during storm Dennis in Feb 2020 to lovely cosy log burners waiting for us. It was a perfect base to explore South West Ireland, just 5 minutes into Bantry, with pubs, restaurants, shops & a decent sized Lidl giving us everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, lots of room to spread out as a family downstairs. Jerome quickly responded to any queries & provided plenty of wood to keep us warm for the week. The cottage was very clean & tidy & the WiFi worked well. Very little phone coverage (which was great) I would highly recommend this cottage, Jerome & the West coast of Ireland to anyone wanting a real break from it all. The 18 inch thick walls of the cottage kept all the wind & rain out too.

    Carol2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay in idyllic farm cottage in easy distance from the lovely town of Bantry. Very spacious and cosy in the evenings with the wood burner. We had a fantastic time.

  • Me and my girlfriend stayed a night as we were on a road trip, we had a amazing reception, the treehouse is so cozy that we preferred to stay and bake pizzas and drink wine in instead of going around for food. Also the cleanliness and the view the balcony offers is absolutely stunning. We'll definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Hello, My cottage is suitable for people that want to enjoy the peace and quite of the country side but not completely isolated as it is quite close to the picturesque villages of Schull and Ballydehob. kitchen and living space are open plan with three bedrooms adjacent.
My cottage is unique because it has panoramic views of all of roaring water bay which includes the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin, Castle and Horse island to name a few. it also gives guests the unique view of the atlantic ocean in its calmest and its wildest days with huge waves breaking over the fastnet rock to the western end of Cape Clear. This cottage comfortably fits 6 people can accommodate more if needs be.
  • My partner and I stayed at Michael’s cottage for 2 nights. It’s in a great location, feels completely secluded, but there’s a few pubs not too far away! The house was clean and spacious, with an excellent kitchen to cook in. The view was stunning as well. It was perfect for a relaxing weekend!

    Sarah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Corr an Droma is a spacious, spotless house in a perfect location. Michael is indeed a super host. I enjoyed my stay immensely and will be returning later this year I enjoyed the peace and quiet/ isolation so much. Having said that, the nearest town, Schull is 5 minutes down the road. Excellent.

    Leon2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place was lovely, very spacious and perfect for a family. It's a remodeled old stone coastal home so it has the best of the old and new. Very charming and in a beautiful area of County Cork, Ireland. Michael was also very helpful in offering tips on the area.

    Gia2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is spacious and accommodated two couples comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped for eating in. The stunning location and peace and quiet were perfect for a relaxing two night break.

    Don2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a grand “cottage”! It’s a large space with one large downstairs bedroom (with small en-suite) + a big open space kitchen, dining and lounge room -which has a cosy fireplace. There is a separate playroom/bedroom for the kids as well. Upstairs there are two more good sized bedrooms + separate toilet and bathroom (with separate shower and large bath). The kitchen is well outfitted and perfect for self catering. There is a large outdoor entertaining area which we did not use because it was mid-winter. The view from the cottage over the Celtic Sea is simply amazing! We had incredible sunrises day after day. Simply magic! Michael is a wonderful host. Very helpful and attends very quickly to any questions - yet he provides you with the privacy you want. Great balance. Highly recommended for a family stay, writing retreat or if you plan to drive or walk parts of the Wild Atlantic Way.

    Glenn2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Michaels home was amazing. The views are very Irish! Check in was easy and the home was fantastic, we all had a great sleep and loved waking up in beautiful West Cork. Thanks again Michael!

  • A very nice house, spacious and pleasant, where nothing was missing, a little difficult to find, especially after dark, but the host, very nice person, guided us

  • Jacqueline is an outstanding host, making sure I got to the house safely in the dark and the rain! The place itself is one end of a large house - including bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. It was a bit chilly in early spring, but plenty of blankets and heaters kept me warm inside. I went to take a workshop with "Embodied Archetypes" at nearby An Sanctoir, which I also recommend. Also enjoyed live music and a pint at Levis' bar. A very good value, lovely retreat.

  • Jacqueline was a very friendly and welcoming host. The accommodation is out of town and very quiet. The space was comfortable and private, and the extra lounge area is a plus as it gives some extra space to spread out and relax in the evening. Recommended place.

  • A super cottage in the middle of lovely Ballydehob. The cottage itself was superb, so warm and cosy especially with the hearth on. We couldn’t have asked for more.

  • Joannes place is very central and convenient to the town. It is everything we expected and more. Joanne was very helpful and thoughtful, leaving tea, coffee, milk etc It is a great spot for exploring west Cork and has some lovely restaurants and pubs in the area. We will definitely be back.

  • Joanne's place in Ballydehob is beautiful, in the best town in Ireland. Will definitely be back.

    Susan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights in Joanne’s cosy cottage. Joanne was the perfect host. She had provided us with all the basics (tea, bread, milk, etc) upon our arrival which was a lovely touch. She also had the stove set, all we had to do was put a match to it. Lighting the stove in the evenings kept the place lovely and warm. There’s no TV or internet in the cottage which, we all agreed, was a bonus. We spent each night playing cards, board games and almost completed one of Joanne’s 1000 piece puzzles (good old fashioned fun)!!!! Communication with Joanne was excellent. She made sure to keep us in the loop regarding Halloween activities in the town which were great craic for adults and children alike!! Ballydehob is a charming place and a wonderful hub to explore West Cork. We will definitely be back to stay in Cassidy Cottage!! Thanks again Joanne!

  • Joanne’s cottage is really something special. It’s full of character and charm. We really enjoyed cozying up in front of the fire with a glass of wine. There’s no tv or WiFi but that’s what makes it great, it’s the perfect place to get away from it all. It’s a short stroll to the excellent pubs in the town and Joanne’s shop is well worth a visit too, it’s got loads of interesting items. Joanne was a lovely host and a pleasure to deal with. We’ll be back to visit again soon!

  • We had a very enjoyable stay in Deirdre's clean, comfortable and well-equipped house, so conveniently close to the lovely restaurants and pubs of Ballydehob too. We loved the fluffy blankets and array of kitchen equipment - it was so useful to have the basics in the kitchen already. My daughter greatly enjoyed the dogs and watching the milking and we all loved the view!

  • Deirdre was a fantastic host! I made the booking very last minute but this wasn't a problem; Deirdre was quick to respond and more than happy to take my booking. The house was situated in the most perfect location, with great walks from the house and close enough to Ballydehob to walk to the restaurants and pubs. The house was brilliantly clean and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Enjoy a holiday or retreat in an almost self-contained flat at the back of my Beautiful Eco House. It has all the modern amenities, please note, it's got a compost toilet. Gorgeous location on the Sheep's Head Way, four miles from village with great food and music!
Available is a cabin/flat at the back of my house. It is designed to allow guests' privacy and independence, with an invitation to interact as much or as little with me as they wish. It has a separate entrance, its own kitchen facilities, and a beautiful, refurbished writing desk. It's 7ft by 15ft approx and is ideal for an individual or a couple looking for a quiet place to get away to for a retreat, a walking holiday, or to write, etc. Guests use the shower in the main house and you're also welcome to cook in the main kitchen if you prefer. There is also a compost toilet and a sink in the other side of the structure. I can't provide a picture of the front of the cabin as it is directly behind the house, bifurcated by a porch like structure between the house and the cabin.
  • The cabin is just out of town, in a rural area. Catherine was a great host she was very clear with here communication in particular about the composting toilet, tbh I have never seen one before. I think the eco friendly credentials of this cabin are brilliant. It’s in a rural area, clean, warm with a great shower. What more can you ask for! I would definitely come to stay and would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking at the bigger picture of eco friendly living and sustainability. Thanks Catherine for being such a great host.

  • Fantastic little hideaway near Ballydehob, great experience living in a eco cabin. Would definitelygo again

    Taiger2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This a cosy cabin space, with a really comfy bed, a lovely bureau desk, and convenient kettle/cooking facilities. West Cork is a magical and beautiful place, and Catherine's place is a great location to base yourself to explore the area. Catherine was a friendly and helpful host, easy to communicate with, and happy to let you come and go and keep to yourself as you like.

    Lisa2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine is an amazing woman who has built her own eco-house and separate room for guests. Just so you know, there are compost toilets (no water...you use sawdust), and you do your washing up in a room out the back door which is a small garage. But it's all well contained, very clean, with wood floors. The bedroom is amazingly warm. ....Regardless of you eco-experience, I'd encourage you to stay there. It's a fascinating learning experience and the room is well stocked with kitchenware to do some good cooking. The bed is very comfy and the tap water there is *fantastic*. Take some bottles to stock up! Catherine is lovely and very accommodating and offers use of her toilet (still a compost but in a proper bathroom) for those who are a little shy. Very inspiring place to stay to see how we might learn to live more in harmony with nature while still being perfectly comfortable :)

  • What a great host! Catherine was so prompt in responding to my inquiries. She went above and beyond to make sure I had transportation during my stay. The accommodations were clean and so comfortable. Also, the shower was great with plenty of hot water and pressure. The place is so easy to use for relaxing, making a cup of tea or heating up a meal. There is also hiking nearby. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Joanne's place is fabulous. The perfect, classy house to host a group of friends. A well-appointed kitchen lends itself to cooking up delicious meals for all the gang. The bedrooms, while not being huge, are very tastefully decorated and each has its own style. In all, a highly-recommended destination in a beautiful corner of the country.

    Drew2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne’s house is fantastic. We had a group of 4 couples and the house fit us all comfortably. The interior was excellent and we appreciated the many amenities left by Joanne. The house is on the Main Street in Ballydehob just down from the pubs and shop, so a perfect location. Great value for money. Our only minor complaint was no WiFi. This was highlighted before we booked but we felt it was the only thing missing from an otherwise perfect Airbnb. Several of our group had work to do over the weekend and managed to get this done at the cafe down the road, but I probably wouldn’t book the house again if I were coming back and had to do some more work via the internet.

  • Lovely house , wonderful host in Joanne . I would highly recommend

    Daragh2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a wonderful few days in Joanne's lovely townhouse. It was very well equipped with great decor and spacious enough for 7 adults. It was also ideally located in the centre of Ballydehob above Joanne's shop which made check in super easy. We loved Ballydehob with it's coloured buildings and store fronts, great pubs, restaurants and friendliness. Joanne was a great host. She allowed us to check in early and said we didn't have to rush when leaving. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend it.

  • The apartment is absolutely gorgeous, everything you need for a couple! It’s more spacious than I was expecting, really comfy bed with a gorgeous view of the bay. The kitchen is good, has a full stove and an oven, and the bathroom and shower also spacious and decked out. Ciaran and Evie were really helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. Location-wise, absolutely perfect for Schull, a short walk from everything in the village. We had a lovely break, thanks a million !

  • Angela's apartment is a very lovely place: cozy, clean and offers everything you may need. Her welcome made our day :). We enjoyed staying on the countryside, it's really quiet but Bantry is just a 15 min walk away. Bantry is a great spot to spend a few days, if you are there on a Friday don't miss the local market. We'd be happy to come back any time!

  • The room is very nice, warm and comfortable, the site in map is wrong, the real position is the South-west of the church about two hundred meters.

  • Snug and stylish and very comfortable. Perfect for two. Great location. We'll be back.

    Celine2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful stay! Evie was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and generous about guiding us through what to do in the time we had in West Cork. The space was perfectly located, immaculate and artfully set up. Evie made the stay match the original vision of airbnb as a cultural exchange and true local hospitality that has disappeared from so many stays.

    Dana2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great little place if you want to eat in, do laundry and relax in a quiet little neighbourhood. It was easy to communicate and check-in with Evie. It's just a short walk to get the restaurants and pubs. I recommend staying here!

The Bitter End is a small but perfectly formed lofted apartment on the Wild Atlantic Way in rural bliss near Ballydehob. Attached to our 1850's farmhouse but totally private, it sleeps 2 upstairs, double or split twins, and 1 downstairs if needed. Great outside space too. Fully equipped mini kitchen, sky TV, WiFi. The stairs is an alternate tread space saving unit, so you need to be sure-footed. Plenty of parking. Great walks straight out the gate. Close to the sea.
"like sleeping on a cloud".... one guests description of our beds "attention to detail"... another comment The mini version of everything, even a dishwasher. Super comfortable luxury.
We live rurally three miles from the nearest village. There are great walks and we are a ten minute stroll from the sea.

  • The cabin was perfect for our needs. Self-contained, cosy, beautiful views. As described, there's a short walk from the cabin to the toilet and shower. You'll encounter a few flies and spiders in there but no more than can be expected. The facilities were clean and we felt very warm and comfortable at night. This is a great option if you fancy simple accomodation in a peaceful and scenic place.

  • Really lovely cabin with a short walk in the delicious fresh air to the hot shower and loo. We had a great time here for two nights. It’s small but has everything you need. Particularly appreciate the sharp knife and scissors as so many Airbnb’s have blunt ones. Lovely hosting and great communication.

    Lewis2019-09-04T00:00:00Z

Lovely well-equipped 2 bedroom cottage available for visiting beautiful Baltimore & West Cork! 3kms from the village & on the main road for easy finding. Stunning setting beside the estuary, near Carbery's Hundred Isles, and plenty of parking.
Cosy cottage located on the main road to Baltimore, 3kms from the village itself. The property consists of one double room, and one single room (with a fold-out bed option too). Easily sleeps 3 adults, with a fourth fitting on a comfy chair-bed if necessary. Located opposite the beautiful estuary with lovely views around and lots of outdoor space. Perfect for getting away from it all as it is outside of the village, or as a good base for car holidays in order to explore the West Cork region. There is plenty of parking and nicely landscaped gardens. The cottage also has a wood burning stove, an extensive DVD collection (for wet days) and a fully equipped kitchen so its well stocked to keep you comfortable come rain or shine. I have recently upgraded the double bed for a luxurious sleeping experience and a brand new hob and oven have also been installed this summer. Please note that during the slower winter months it is highly advisable to book at least two days in advance so that the cottage can be fully prepared prior to your arrival. In addition the local bar and restaurant round the corner(The Sibin) is only open after 5pm during the winter months.
The cottage is located in the small hamlet of Rath, 3kms from Baltimore village. Round the corner (10 minutes walk) are the church, the Sibin pub (which serves food and has music at the weekend) and the school. We are on the estuary of a 100 isles so there are beautiful views around the locale and it is classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty. 3kms down the road and you have the village of Baltimore, with a shop (with atm), pubs, restaurants, sailing clubs, water sports, swimming pool and a playground. Also 6kms away is the famous Lough Hyne (recently listed in the Irish Times 20 Best Places to go wild in Ireland for walking, swimming and diving). 8kms away is Skibbereen, the main town for this part of West Cork with banks, post office, a Lidl, , arts centre, medical centre and everything else.
  • Very nice and comfortable house, the kitchen is equipped very well. When the wind is strong, it can be difficult to use the fire.

    Anna2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Pristine cottage. Warm, cosy, peaceful and beautifully bright. An ideal base for exploring so many wonderful local sights such as Baltimore, the islands (I loved Cape Clear), the Carbery Isles, Lough Hyne and more. The wood fire stove was a treat. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

  • We spent Christmas week in this lovely little cottage and can't begin to describe how wonderful it was. Warm and cozy, fully furnished with everything we needed, and as a special bonus - the friendliest most affectionate cat we've ever met (and we are fosterers!). Catherine is a great and welcoming host, and the local area is just beautiful. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

    Wendy2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place! The cottage was absolutely perfect. With all the amenities you can imagine and more. The perfect location: quiet, cosy and well equipped. We enjoyed the wood burning stove and dozens of movies to watch. We had great communication with Catherine.

    Robert2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy little cottage with everything you need for self catering. Well located for exploring Baltimore, the islands and the rest of West Cork. There is a lovely pub walkable around the corner and great places to eat nearby in Baltimore. Despite the cold weather the place was cosy and it was lovely to curl up with a book by the wood burning stove.

    Eleanor2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine’s cottage is a little gem in the rugged Baltimore coastline, if you’re looking for a slice of real Ireland - you’ve found it! It’s quaint & cosy and our little doggy loved it too! As a host she was exceptionally helpful and made our stay seamless

Cuinne House is a detached house on the east side of the island situated on high ground with excellent views on 3 sides around. It's close to the pier 5 or 6 mins walk and to both bars 2 or 3 mins walk On the far west side 30 mins walk are several sandy beaches, accessible from the road and "must see" . Roads here are narrow so unless really necessary you won't need a car.
There is a dining room and a quiet garden with a beautiful view.
Close to pier , bars , restaurant.
  • Lovely place to stay. Brendan is very friendly and there is good communication from the moment you book. Breakfast was very tasty especially the fresh eggs. The view is stunning. We will be back.

  • Friendly and helpful host, beautiful room and the location on the island is great. Sherkin is also really worth it.

    David2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with bedroom views across the island to the nearby bay and headland, the sea beyond and out to Cape Clear. I had two days with two sides of the weather - lovely calm and sunny one day, dramatic and windy the next (resulting in an additional night stay due to cancelled ferry!). The accommodation is just right, a separate annex to the main house with en-suite bathrooms. A good breakfast selection including fully cooked is included. Good local knowledge provided including ferry updates, where to go to see waves crashing in and walking/cycling options.

Located in the heart of Tragumna , one of the most picturesque villages in WestCork. (of course I am biased!).The Lookout is a very modern accommodation, it has wonderful views in a quiet peaceful area located along the Wild Atlantic Way, just 5km from Skibbereen. At our B&B you can look forward to a relaxing stay, enjoy the sounds of the ocean crashing against the rocks and beach. The Lookout is close to the Blue Flag Beach, Skibbereen Eagle bar/restaurant and offers breathtaking coastal walks.
The room is located on the ground floor with its own private entrance and private ensuite. The room is bright and clean. The internal door to the rest of the house is locked off. It has a kingsize bed with good quality linen and comfortable mattress. The room also contains a Smart TV, mini fridge ( to hold fresh milk and water), toaster, butter/jam, tea/coffee making facilities, choice of cereals (3) and milk. The ensuite has a large shower, toilet and sink. Weather permitting there are deck chairs to sit out and have a coffee in the morning, or relax on arrival and enjoy the sunset. Although I do not provide a full breakfast, there will be a choice of three cereals in the room, fresh milk in the fridge, breakfast biscuits, toaster and bread, tea and coffee.
Tragumna is an extremely safe and quiet village. Im sure you would feel right at home here. What to See and Do: Kayaking: Atlantic Sea Kayaking, Reen Pier & Lough Hyne. Reen Pier is on the way to Union Hall, about a 15 minute drive from the house. Whale Watching: Colin Barnes runs Cork Whale Watch out of Reen Pier. Nic Slocum runs Whale Watch West Cork out of Baltimore. Both tours are excellent. We suggest Cork Whale Watch as the route Colin takes will give you a whole new perspective on the coastline the house looks out onto. In addition, you will pass the seal colony located on the Stags Rocks (the group of rocks you see around the corner). Walking from the house: Tralispeen beach: turn left at Trag beach, follow the road for 1km, then take a left at the T-junction and walk 2-3 km. Towards Castletownshend: Toe Head tower can be reached by taking a right after Tralagoch beach. If you are planning to walk all the way to Castletownshend, be sure to stop at Sandy Cove beach. Nearby sightseeing: Lough Hyne - a must visit; Rineen woods; Drombeag Stone Circle; Knockdrum Stone Fort; Liss Ard Gardens. Scenic drives: Crookhaven, Barley Cove & The Mizen Head; Bantry, Glengarriff & the Beara Way; Bantry, Gougane Barra & Kenmare; Clonakilty, Timoleague & Kinsale. Golfing: Skibbereen Golf Club, 18-hole course. Alternatively, there is a fine 18-hole links pitch and putt course in Rosscarbery. Clubs can be rented at both locations. Angling: Seaanglingcharters.ie, Reen Pier; Baltimore Angling & Wild Life Tours. Diving: Baltimore Diving Centre Other: Fastnet Rock lighthouse tours, fastnettour.com
  • Fiona was an absolutely fantastic host. The room was beautiful and sparkling clean, and location absolutely perfect. Will definitely be back again. Can not recommend highly enough.

The guest room has a picture window facing the water, due south onto Dunmanus Bay. There is a hand-basin in the room with toilet next door. Own use of separate bathroom. Use of kitchen, dining room and outside space on request. A small dog lives here, too! The Sheep's Head Peninsula (opp the pin point on the map)approx 5 km from Durrus village on the sea road. The area is renowned for walking and cycling. Bantry is 20 minutes driving distance. Two hours from Cork City by road.
My home is situated in VERY RURAL West Cork; this is farming & fishing country - on the south-western end of the Wild Atlantic Way. Nature at its very best and a photographer's paradise! Marvelous for walkers and hikers.
  • Unfortunately we only stayed one night with Marion, but really enjoyed our stay! She is a very courteous and warm lady with a playful little dog and a beautiful house right by the sea. We would be happy to visit them again and continue our exciting conversations!

The room was clean, with a big bed, a sink inside (to wash hands, brush teeth, etc). The bathroom was correct as well. Overall, she's a great host and we would definitely stay again
