A chance to celebrate Christmas and New Year together as family or as friends in the romantic and idyllic setting of Blackcraig Castle in the picturesque glen of Strathardle.
The Garden and Tower Apartments are being let together over the festive period, and will be suitably decorated with warm winter welcome.
The apartments are situated in a small private courtyard which connects them. The lower apartment is on the ground floor and contains the kitchen/dining room which has french door leading into a small garden, a twin bedroom with Ensuite bathroom, a second twin bedroom and bathroom. There is also a utility room with washing machine and dryer on the ground floor. The upper apartment is accessed via the original stone stairs from the courtyard and contains the large bright living room overlooking the garden and woodlands. It has a double bedroom with ensuite shower and separate ensuite toilet, a twin bedroom and a further shower room.
The apartments are finished to a high standard throughout, retaining much of the castles original features, and will be tastfully decorated for the festive season.
The small Courtyard with its 'Stone Heads' - a feature around the castle which was designed by the artist Patrick Allen Fraser in the mid 19th century, reflects the beautiful baronial Archtecture that can be seen throughout the Castle both externally and within.
There are many lovely walks around the gardens and the local area, as well as markets and festivals to visit, and the ski area of Glenshee is a 30 min drive.
There are opportunities to view the castle when the owners are at home.
The majority of the gardens are available to visitors, including the walled garden, river walk and deer park, with the front of the castle being reserved for the owners.
Other things to note
Located a few miles from Bridge of Cally on the A924, arriving guests should look out for a set of stone gate pillars with sleeping dogs on top and a gatehouse that signals the Blackcraig Castle entrance road. Following this they should proceed down the tree-lined driveway and over one of the few remaining Bridge Houses in Scotland. Access to the Apartments is the SECOND turn on the left after crossing the bridge house.
We expect guests to treat the property with respect and leave it in a clean and tidy state.
There is a no smoking allowed and no pets to be kept in the apartments.
