A very pleasant and informative stay . Comfortable room and nice surroundings. Our hosts were very attentive and helpful, and informative of the abundant wildlife around. I can recommend this to everyone who wants to vistit Panama. The breakfast was easy and delicious. Overall a very good experience.

If one wants to unplug from modern life, this is the space to visit. This was my first time using airbnb, so I was not sure what to expect. It's tranquil and off the beaten path. One could spend all day by the river, being with self. Renting a car would be advisable if one wants to venture beyond Loma Limon. Mariel and Fred felt more like family, than hosts. They are great embassadors of Panama! Communication was hilarious but effective, using Spanglish- them in English, and me with really bad Spanish :-) I will be back! Muchisimas gracias a Mariel y Fred!

We had a wonderful time staying with Mariel and Fer. Their place is outside the City, beautiful and peaceful. After an exhausting pace getting ready for the trip and a long plane ride, we had three days to enjoy a wonderful outdoor environment with plenty of solitude, if you want it. We enjoyed meeting and getting to know our hosts the most. They are so friendly. My husband and Fer played guitar and sang one night. The place is great for a family as there are two rooms available (you need to enlarge Airbnb map to see separate rooms as they on stacked together on map) and a lovely outdoor kitchen. I didn't see any mosquitos. It's early to bed and early to rise at Loma Limon. Muy tranquilo. Thank you, Mariel and Fer.

Where to even begin? Fernando and Mariel are the best! We found ourselves on quite the adventure. At 1:00 AM after I-phone maps directed us to some strange suburb in Panama City we finally got straightened out using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps and searching for “Riverside Village” en La Mesa. That will get you there. But back to 1:00 AM, when we were lost and nervous by how far in the country we were, there they were with flashlights looking for us to make sure we found the place. We woke up to most surreal landscape with low, lush hills, mango trees and the scent of lilac and lavender, everything I was hoping Panama to be! But it gets better, the hosts are the most amazing people. We chatted about how they personally built and landscaped the property. They checked in on us and were always up to discuss life or anything needed. We made a life-long connection with them. This location is far away from the city (about an hour drive or more). Lots of massive speed bumps to get there. The accommodations are clean and tidy. There is internet access but no cell service. Definitely a good idea to connect with them on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). We can’t wait to go back.

Mariel and her partner are lovely people and amazing hosts! They organised our whole trip to visit San Blas Islands with us and we had a great experience. They were always there when we needed anything from driving directions and travel information to kitchen equipment etc. and we were looked after with fresh fruits from the garden. Mariel also took us to a river close by for a swim. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back any time :)

We only had a one day layover in Panama and couldn't have ended up in a better place! Their home is beautiful, set back in the countryside with beautiful gardens, art (by the hosts), and natural surroundings. The hosts could not be more generous or helpful, and the food was amazing, much of it from their garden. A perfect spot to sit back and relax, watch the wildlife (birds, monkeys, lizards...), and even take a dip in the river. We enjoyed getting to know them both and hope to be back in the future!

Mariel and Fernando were the nicest people we met during our stay in Panama. In fact, they were the nicest people we have met anywhere, in a long time. They made my sister and I feel very welcome, comfortable and relaxed. It was as if we were staying with family! Their place was a wonderful getaway from the city and exactly what we were looking for on our last days of our trip. Their property was lush and full of fruit trees, beautiful plants, excellent scenery and an abundance of beautiful wild birds. The dogs and kittens were an added bonus for us, as we are animal lovers! They were extremely gentle and kind. Their property was close to the river and we enjoyed our morning walk to the river - great workout. The people we passed on our way were also extremely friendly - great neighbourhood. We also took advantage of the outdoor kitchen and hammock. Mariel was very understanding when we had an accident in her kitchen and we were shocked by her humble response. We LOVED Mariel's homemade lemonade and Fernando's homemade fruit smoothie!!! Mariel was also more than helpful with helping us get around and back to the airport (very fair rate for transportation to airport.) She even went out of her way to assist us when our transportation company from San Blas failed to get us where we had paid to go. I can go on forever about how wonderful Mariel was!!! Gentle and caring soul. As for the room, it was good. It was clean, spacious and provided all that we needed, including a wonderful breakfast and morning chat. For those interested, it did have AC and a television - we didn't care much for these as we liked the heat and sounds of nature. The Wifi signal was not very strong in the room - but we weren't there for the internet - we just wanted to take in the scenery and the experience. It was a great one!
