Guest access
You are welcome to explore the farm area, with the permission of the owners, this is so we can explain any hazards you need to be aware of. Please be aware there are animals at all times of the year and all gates are to be left as you find them. There is an electric fence operating, please treat all fence wires as live.

Other things to note
We are in a rural area with limited street lighting and definitely not in the city or near shops. But rest assured you will enjoy the piece and quiet we all love in Waikite Waikite Valley.
This is a fully operating Dairy cattle grazing block, and we will be tending to our stock daily. There may be machinery in operation during this time. ie motorbike, ute, tractor. While guests are staying we will be as courteous as possible. But again you are more than welcome to come and see what we are up to.
Due to having livestock on the property, they do make noise and are very inquisitive animals. Therefore caution is required if you are interacting with them, they can be friendly/unpredictable creatures. We prefer this to happen with us around.

Hi welcome to our WaiNot Cottage Farmstay. I am married with two teenage children. We have recently retired from owning a dairy farm and now just run our Dairy cow grazing block which is the property the Cottage is located on. We love the beach and our local lakes for swimming and taking our jetski out. We enjoy meeting new people and would love to share a special piece of rural New Zealand with other travellers.

During your stay
We like to welcome our guests on arrival and then be available if they have any problems or need help.
We are happy to take you out to visit Dairy cattle during your stay at a mutual convenient time and weather permitting. Just let us know if you would like this to be part of your plans during your stay. (we have sold the Dairy farm and can no longer take you to see cows milking) During August, September & October we do have calves feeding daily.
You may even get a wonderful photo opportunity or get to pat dairy cow up close.
