The space

Just off the N56, down a leafy lane, this traditional, single-storey, detached holiday cottage lies in an idyllic setting. Retaining its ‘olde worlde’ character, it lies in an ideal location for walkers, as the cottage is on the renowned Bluestack Way and for the keen fisherman, the property is about 450 yards from the Owenea river. It is conveniently located between the market town of Glenties, 2.5 miles and the heritage town of Ardara, 4.5 miles. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch the handweavers of Ardara producing the tweed for which Donegal is famous. This is also a popular area for its beautiful beaches. Visit the golden beaches and caves of Maghera and the fabulous white beaches of Narin And Portnoo. Shop, pub and restaurant 2.5 miles.
All on ground floor: Living room with tiled floor. Dining room with patio doors and wooden floor/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin with additional single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

The cottage is a wonderfully cosy original gem in a perfect location for exploring the many beaches, villages etc. The wood-burning stove does an incredible job of heating the whole cottage (in addition to the electric heating...). Take a walk down the back lane (right at the gate, then left) and discover the walking trail and river plus old bridge (and if the timing is right, the best blackberries I have tasted). If you like industrial archeology, the Fintown railway is a must!

Lovely house in a remote area but close to Glenties and Adrara. Recommended

Nice quiet spot close to Glenties. Description accurate. Barry was great at communicating arrangements and the directions were spot on. A genuine old Irish cottage with the accompanying quirks and character...but with the addition of a nice new clean kitchen and bathroom.

Gorgeous cottage with lovely surroundings. The sitting room is nice and cosy (with a new comfy couch) and the kitchen is well kitted out. The guest book makes a very interesting read (dating back to the 70s!).

House was even nicer that the pictures, really home-y vibe. The location is incredible, with walks right by the house and some really dramatic scenery on your drive there. 10/10 would stay again

I am from Dublin. The house has been in my family since the early 1970's. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
