Active local pub, and half a mile from North Creake Abbey which has a really good restaurant/café, great outside space with toys and little tractors and an award-winning farmers' market.
Burnham Market is 2 miles away, with its famous hat shop and much else to offer for a wander round. Fabulous beaches at Wells, Holkham, Burnham Overy Staithe, Titchwell, Brancaster and Hunstanton (plus many more) are within a short drive. The first 3 are the nearest and are 3-5 miles away.

Guest access

Full, exclusive access to the entire cottage and its garden and parking area. I am always happy to discuss special offers for mid-week stays, couples and/or longer stays. The cottage sleeps 5 plus an infant. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at a small extra charge, but must not be left on their own in the cottage for lengthy periods, please.

Interaction with guests

Owner lives next door, and is on hand to help/advise on how to best enjoy your stay. The cottage has a folder and a mass of information, maps and ideas for places to visit for all ages and interests, but do get in touch with me directly if you have special requirements, e.g. somewhere special to eat out, child- and/or dog-friendly places to go, bird-watching etc.

Other things to note

Well behaved dogs are most welcome. There is an outside tap and towels inside the door to clean up your pet before coming into the house. The cottage is situated well away from the road but the access is not gated. The sunny front garden is child- and dog-proof for added peace of mind. I expect all guests to be scrupulous about cleaning up after their pet(s) in the garden, please. I keep bantams, which are behind a fence beyond the cottage parking area. Younger guests are most welcome to help feed the hens.
Please note that I do not provide towels for stays of 1 or 2 nights, although these can be provided at a small extra cost. Unfortunately I cannot accept one-night bookings at weekends.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Chalk Hill Cottage. Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back! Kate was a superb host who advised on local areas, attractions and very helpful throughout our stay. The cottage is very clean, cosy and had everything we needed. Beautiful garden that we were lucky enough to use and our 2.5yr old daughter loved the chickens in the front (especially as Kate gave her a fresh egg!) and the ‘games cupboard’ with books, puzzles and toys! Thank you for a lovely, relaxing and cosy stay at Chalk Farm.

Delightful cottage well equipped and perfect stay for our 'get away' in Norfolk. Would certainly go back again. Kate was a lovely host and although we are regular visitors to Norfolk she gave us some local tips which were perfect.

Kate was a welcoming and friendly host, great communication with us before the trip. Although Kate is next door, you very much feel like you have privacy and your own space.

Lovely cute cottage with lovely kitchen and living space. Upstairs is quaint and clean and comfy. Chickens and fruit trees out front made great entertainment for our toddler and location was good, just 10 mins drive from Wells
