Hamtramck has been called “The World In Two Square Miles” and was originally settled by Polish immigrants. It still maintains its Eastern European feel, but now also reflects the melting pot experience with its restaurants catering to many other tastes, from Yemni to Indian to Iraqui, Bengali and Greek. At our home we don't have many rules. We would like you to have fun on your trip to Detroit and treat our home like you would yours.
Friends (up to 2 or 3) are welcome for short pop-in visits (under 1 hour) and so is responsible drinking, but our dogs like to go to sleep at a reasonable time so we ask for quite time after 10 pm. The Hamtramck House is well known an awesome place for entertaining, but due to some past experiences, we may need to assess additional fees for friends you wish to host longer than an hour, as well as additional cleaning fees ($10 per person, $15 cleaning fee).
Because of our home's very photogenic nature we have, from time to time, requests to do filming etc. on-site. We can consider such requests but likely may need to assess an additional fee (approx $100).
Smoking is allowed but only outside and appreciate that you clean up afterwards. There will be a $30 additional cleaning fee if you smoke inside.
I'm originally from Dallas, Texas, but now happily living in Michigan, until we can retire someplace warm. I met my husband, Jeff, here in Hamtramck, MI. We have been together now for many years. We both enjoy movies, eating out and cooking together, walking our dogs, and fine wine.
