Our booking was very last minute and I am so glad we found the Hayloft; it was a perfect place for our overnight stay. Warm and cosy, with very comfortable beds, it had everything we needed. John could not have been a better host: very quick to respond, unfazed by our uncertain arrival time, and leaving the most delicious local apple juice, cider and eggs. We will definitely return if we need somewhere in the area again.

The Hayloft was perfect and John was an incredible host. I arrived by train and John wrote out impeccable walking directions for me to ensure I didn’t get lost, and I arrived to the Hayloft to find a darling welcome in the form of bread, eggs, and cider. The place itself has all you need. Linens are high quality, the place is spacious, clean and comfy, and it’s also a very easy walk to the center of town— within two minutes you’re the market square. John was also extremely responsive and attentive while respecting his guests’ privacy. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Thanks John!

We absolutely loved the Hayloft and the little village. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with gorgeous linen and bedding, a great bathroom and lots of space in the living areas. We loved seeing the friendly chickens walking around the property and very much appreciated the eggs that were given to us. John left lovely breakfast supplies for us, and his own cider and juice which was a wonderful treat. The property felt very peaceful and safe and has a lovely outdoor area where children could explore. We loved the village, especially the market, and the George pub where we had lovely meals. We had a wonderful day out visiting Wells cathedral and Cheddar Gorge which were only a short drive away. Highly recommended and would love to visit again.

The Hayloft really is a great place to stay. It was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The owner, John, is very friendly and makes some delicious cider and apple juice that he was kind enough to share with us. Off street parking is a plus. Very private and quiet.

The Hayloft is incredible and exceeded all our expectations - much bigger then the photos and very well presented. Castle Cary is a gem of a find too, lovely cafes, shops, pubs and excellent walks...all on your doorstep. John was a fantastic host and made a special effort to make space for our campervan, plus left us a welcome pack of homemade apple juice + cider, local milk and butter. Plus a highlight of eggs from his friendly hens.
