Comfortable house with full facilities, situated in an ideal location for easy access to visit many of the major attractions in the South West.
Easy parking, private garden with views across the beautiful Hadspen Estate.

The space

The rental property is a self-contained house with a private garden area, situated next door to our home.

There is a large double bedroom with a balcony overlooking the parklands of the Hapsden Estate which surrounds us, and from here you may see deer, foxes and the resident hawk. The bedroom has an ensuite toilet and sink, with a new bathroom with shower on the ground floor.
We may be able to offer temporary beds if more than two people are staying; there would be an additional charge for this.

The kitchen has dishwasher, hob, oven, fridge, freezer and washing machine.

The living room has TV with Sky Sports.

The natural fresh water for the rental property and our own is drawn from the grounds of the Hadspen Estate.

Guest access

We are situated on the A371 and easy to locate; when you see the dovecote just pull into the driveway and you can park directly outside the property.

Wincanton Racecourse is only a five minute drive away, or if the weather is good can be walked in 20 minutes.

You can easily access routes to Hayes Motor Museum (5 minutes away), Yeovilton Air Museum (15 minutes), Glastonbury (20 minutes) and Longleat House (20 minutes).

Interaction with guests

We will be there to welcome you and we can offer advice about the best tourist destinations to visit.

We are happy to recommend some of our fantastic local restaurants. A couple of our personal favourites are At The Chapel which is only a 10 minute drive away in Bruton, or if you lucky you may be able to book a table at Matt's Kitchen (also in Bruton).

Other things to note

We own two beautiful Newfoundland dogs. They are very well behaved and are kept out of the garden and house of the rental property at all times.

Jeanne was a very welcoming host and let us in before the check-in time and helpful about local places to eat. Lovely basket of bread, jam and cereals awaited us. Wifi intermittent but excellent TV reception and very comfortable sofa. Traffic noise as close to road, but this stops at night so we got a good night's sleep. A great place to break up the journey to Cornwall or Devon. Thanks Jeanne.

Stay was perfect, if very brief - we were down for a family wedding at Yarlington house a few miles away. We were allowed to drop bags earlier than check in time so we could get to the wedding on time which was a great help.

A wonderful welcome from Jeanne. Our wedding anniversary was memorable thanks to a generous welcome pack, and a glass of Prosecco!

We had a lovely time in Jeanne's property. The place was quite spacious, nicely isolated but close enough to things you needed. The region was almost magical, everything was up to expectations and even more. The region is very beautiful and we were more or less 1 hour drive to so many places to visit. She had a nice basket of goodies waiting for us as well, which was a nice touch. I can only recommand

It was a great place to stay and they were very helpful

Lovely country cottage good value and only 5 minutes to a couple of local pubs for great food. Easily accessible to Bath, Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge to name a few. Jeanne was lovely and we were left to our own privacy to enjoy the eggs, bread cheese and wine plus more that Jeanne had arranged for our arrival. Recommended for a nice getaway.
