Clean, comfortable and warm. My first time using AirBnb and it won't be my last. Very happy with my stay here.

I'll begin by saying that the accomoation is a modern, clean one bedroom apartment in a good location. Its a converted bedroom/ensuite of a house that encompasses a small kitchen/living area. I had booked the accommodation for the night before the Dublin Ironman 70.3, I stay in Air B&B's 8-10 time/year for work and for triathlon races. I use it too cook my own food the day before and have my own breakfast on race morning (I have issues with sensitive stomach). Having contacted the host with a week to go before check-in (as I do with every Air B&B host) and again on the Wedesnday before to arrange check-in times, I could not reach him on the check-in date we had pre-arranged and his excuse of a missing phone is totally unacceptable when I could have been reached online (as well as me calling, texting and leaving voicemails, I also sent 3 emails) anytime as the host was aware of my check-in times throughout the week before. I was forced to wait 2.5 hours unsure if he was going to get in contact and Googling alternatite accommodation in Dublin (not ideal pre-race prep). On top of this I had to pay for food at a local restaurant and then throw out the food I had purchased to pepare in the apartment for the race. I will likely not be reimbursed for 1) paying for meal I did not want, and/or 2)the food I puchesed but had to throw out.

Response from Gerry:
Sorry about the wasted food Diarmuid. Please send me the bill for this and it will be reimbursed. Ref. misplacing my mobile. I was trying to replace my steps to find phone. As i was not at home, I was not in a position to make contact with you. I eventually got home with no mobile and got on my computer to made contact. As an athlete originally, I appreciate your preparation is very important. Anything that happened above was not premeditated or intended. I apologize again yours in sport Gerry

The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The view from the window is nice in the Summer. Plenty of hot water and good powerful shower. Location is lovely. Just round the corner from Terenure village and very handy for shops and bus to city. Highly recommended for solo travellers.

The room is very functional and located in a quiet neighborhood. The place is easy to find and just a few minutes walk to the bus station. Gerry is warmhearted. Even we had no chance to meet, he introduced all the facilities in the room by phone and talked to me I can approach him when I need any help. Thanks, Gerry.

I will definitely recommend Gerrys place. It is private, it's clean, it has everything you need, the neighbourhood is nice and rather quiet but not too far from the city center. I met Gerry on my arrival and he is one of the friendliest person I've met. He made me feel very welcome and when I asked him something, he was fast to reply. If I ever need a place to stay, I will pick Gerrys place:)

I am a very friendly and helpful person and I like to give that extra stitch and make sure my guests needs are looked after. ie places to go, sight seeing etc. My main mode of travel around the city is cycling and walking. I can organize a bicycle for getting around the city. …
