The lovely thing here is the quiet and relaxing peace of this little cottage. With the open fire and also the South facing frontage this is indeed a most welcoming place to just take some time out and recharge your batteries.

The space
Lovely whitewashed traditional Irish Farm cottage. FREE WIFI in the cottage (Wifi is called Imagine , password: 09010502)

It has a cozy sittingroom with open fire. You can burn wood etc. Small fitted Kitchen . Double bedroom with comfortable double bed and shower en-suite, on the ground floor. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with 2 single beds in each room. There is a toilet and wash basin upstairs also in a small compact bathroom, although this is more suitable for small kids with its low ceiling. As it's an old cottage, there is a steep narrow staircase, so take care! These upstairs bedrooms have low attic ceilings and are probably best suited for children , although many adults have also stayed here, There is an electric blanket on the bed for added comfort. You have Free access to the farm and all the lovely walks, both on the farm and on the local mountains. There is also a great traditional music culture in this area.
Your cottage is adjacent to the owners, so you have instant access should your have any enquiries , or if you are looking for hot tips on places to visit , stories and legends from the area, etc.

There is an authentic old Fairy Fort on the farm, and an ancient 'Swearing Stone', on which it's said Oisin lay his hand, on his return to the Land of Erin , after he had spent 400 years in Tir na nOg ( Land of Youth ) If you stand in the centre of the fairyfort and close your eyes, and listen with a quiet peaceful heart, then you will hear the ceoil ( music ) of the Fairies.

We like to preserve nature and do our bit to help biodiversity. We don't use any chemicals or sprays on the land and allow patches of ground to grow as they like, making it a haven for wildlife. If the beautiful sound of birdsong annoys you, maybe you should look elsewhere. Likewise, if you are seeking acres of manicured gardens, then this is not the place for you. If you want to enjoy nature at its finest, with glorious hedgerows harbouring multitudes of life and natural meadows with mixed grasses and wildflowers providing sustenance to pollinators, then you are most welcome to share this special place for your visit. Guests sometimes come, planning to use it as a base to travel around but more often than not are happy to just enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside and explore the walks around the farm.

That's not to say however that you shouldn't venture further afield. We are blessed to be located in a central location in Co. Tipperary and indeed Ireland also. There are plenty of wonderful castles, heritage sites and scenic locations all within a short drive from the farm. For going out there are some amazing restaurants and great pubs with live music. If you are here on a Thursday night you might get the chance to visit the legendary traditional Irish music session pub 'Jim o' The Mills' which only opens on a Thursday night!

The Cottages are situated on a farm about 1mile from the village of Borrisoleigh. Here you may buy petrol, hardware, food and drink. There are also restaurant and Fast Food outlets. You can buy fresh home grown vegetables from Barbara and her husband Michael on Friday mornings in the 'Square', in front of the beautiful Parish church. There is a garage and 3 Filling Stations. Bus service serve Borrisoleigh as it's on the main Thurles to Nenagh R498
Here you will get a flavour of Irish hospitality and friendliness at its best ! There are loads of testimonials from all over the world, which verify the wonderful experience holidaymakers have had here in this part of traditional Ireland. There are sheep, ponies, donkeys, chickens, pet rabbits etc on the farm.
