We spent three nights in this cosy cottage nestled in the hills of Bantry. It was a great place to stay as we explored the majestic Beara peninsula.

This place is very inspiring. Jenni is a wonderful welcoming hostess. The view is breathtaking through the fields and down to the sea with mountains , horses, so many shades of green. It provides a perfect retreat and the pictures cannot do it justice. The accomodation is comfortable and charming with everything you need. So beautiful to relax in the evenings beside the open wood fire. If you are seeking a peaceful sanctuary to recharge your batteries please be kind to yourself and book this now!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, Jenni and her daughter were both very welcoming.. Lots of horses and farmyard animals as well as a no. of strutting peacocks! Plenty of walks and wilderness to explore... People with mobility issues might find the stairs very steep for accessing bedrooms, otherwise all was great...

The cottage is on farm outside Bantry which offers pony trekking if you are interested. We arrived in the rain late on 16th March, 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 dog. I'd read the other reviews so came prepared with €2 coins for the electric meter and kindling, firelighters and coal for the open fire. The house warmed up quickly once the fire was going. It was my first time climbing and alternating tread stairs, it's like climbing the ladder in a ship. As others have described the setup is basic, simple, yet comfortable for our family of 4. Plans to explore were put on hold due to weather so we took the kids to the swimming pool at the Westlodge Hotel and to eat at The Brick Oven (4th time in the last 3 years). The kids were fascinated by the animals including what they referred to as the dogsheep, a sheep with a collar and bell we met at the main house every day. Before we headed home we took advantage of the pony trekking which the kids loved. We're looking forward to going back in the summer when the weather is better.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay. 10 min drive into Bantry on v narrow and windy roads. Hse set at the side of a hill with stunning views looking over the Mealagh valley. Felt 100 miles from anything!

Great place to stay, we really enjoyed our stay at Jenni's. The views down to Bantry Bay and of the surrounding mountains are quite stunning and the location is perfect if you want some peace and quiet in the countryside. The farmyard is full of ducks, chickens, peacocks, horses and ponies, dogs and pet sheep! very entertaining. Jenni was really helpful and obliging and always nearby if needed. The cottage has everything needed for a comfortable stay, one word of caution regarding the stairs to the bedrooms - it is quite steep and may not suit anyone who may be a little unsteady on their feet. The location is perfect for anyone planning to explore west Cork and is a great base for hill-walking, mountain-biking, fishing, kayaking and many more outdoor activities. We're hoping to return sometime soon and would have no hesitation in recommending this AirBnB cottage.
