Set on one acre with magnifcant oak trees our log home has a separate 1200 sq ft apartment over the garage. A small deck with a big view overlooks Bear Mountain. We have space for your boat, trailer and vehicle on our gated one acre property.

The space

Full size kitchen with microwave, stove and refrigerator. Kitchen has pots & pans, dishes, silverware & glasses. Bath has hair dryer & extra toiletries, if needed. A French press, teapot, toaster and Keurig coffee pot and coffee are provided. We also provide aluminum foil, plastic wrap, napkins, salt & pepper, sugar, creamer, dish soap and towels.

A washer and dryer are available for your convenience.

A 12 x18 " propane BBQ is located on site. Please let us know if you want to use the BBQ as we store it downstairs.

We do not serve breakfast but do provide various breakfast items for you to enjoy.

We have some low lawn chairs to use for concerts or at the beach. There are two beach towels on the dryer for water sports.

Guest access

The apartment and private deck are for your use on this property. You are welcome to walk around the property. We have a golf cart available if you would like to use it to go down to Greenhorn Golf Course for golf or dining.
The road down to our property is not paved but a good gravel base. Note: If you golf you will need to use a GH golf carts because at his time do not pay the permit fee to use our cart. You can use our cart to carry your clubs down to the course and back to the log.

Interaction with guests

We will try to be available during your stay to answer questions and share as much information as possible to make your stay special. We have put together a binder of various activities and sights to see in our area. It is your vacation time and we will follow your lead if you prefer to be left on your own.

Other things to note

Since the apartment is over the garage we are very respectful and make sure we do not open the garage doors during your stay while you are in residence.

We do not cook breakfast but for your convenience do provide breakfast items in the refrigerate at the log. There are English muffins or bagels, cereal
and oatmeal, milk, orange juice, butter, jam, cream cheese, coffee, tea and bottle water. There are a variety of other snacks provided as well.

We have a gate to our property and if you have a boat we can close the gate at night. We have a gate opener that we can provide you during your stay if you are a fisherman or enjoy water sports.

We are offering a peaceful atmosphere in a country setting. There is no smoking, of any kind allowed in the log or anywhere on our property. No loud music or TV. No pets. We are a qualified business ready Airbnb.

The log is ideal for two people to enjoy. If you want to include a third adult please obtain prior approval.

We have a " fun cabinet" that contains cards, games, puzzles and color books & crayons. Please enjoy the cabinet but we ask that you or your child return items to the cabinet, neatly, when you are done with them.

Children: We have one rollaway bed to accommodate a child. We do not have a waterproof cover on this rollaway bed. Note: Please bring proper protection if your child wets the bed.
With prior approval, we are willing to accommodate up to two children if you provide a bed/bassinet and bedding.

Note: we are not toddler proof at the log, there are cleaning supplies & detergent under the kitchen sink, laundry and bathroom. We ask you consider this and if you chose to book you will be responsible for your toddler and children's safety.

Amenity limitations - Not childproof & have cleaners under sink. We also have a rollaway but not waterproof mattress cover. Wifi can be weak at times due to bad weather.

If you are looking for a home away from home in gold country we advise a stay at the Log. The home is beautiful and well maintained. The hosts are wonderful and very attentive to every detail. We stayed for a girls weekend to explore the area and the Log was perfectly located for our travels. Everyone we met were extremely nice. Definitely plan to visit the Log in the future. Karen & Rick were wonderful hosts and greeted us when we arrived. Also gave a lot of tips for things to do in the area. The space was big and very clean and the grounds quiet/serene. Karen really goes above and beyond making sure there is breakfast food and a stocked kitchen to cook if desired. We found ourselves wanting to stay in and watch the deer run around outside the large front windows. This is close to groceries, food and wineries. We enjoyed Far East Chinese in town but popped into Murphy’s one night to go wine tasting and grab dinner. Locke Winery and Grounds restaurant were highlights! Thanks so much Karen and Rick!! We will be back!

The Log is absolutely incredible! It’s a perfect private apartment filled with anything you could need! We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the porch overlooking the hills! Karen was a delight as was her husband!

The Log was an awesome homebase for a gold country weekend. Visited with my husband, and were so impressed by the great guesthouse experience staying at the Log. Karen and Ric were great hosts, very flexible and communicative, their home is charming and cozy. The location can't be beat if you want to travel to the various mining towns surrounding Angels Camp. We look forward to visiting again!

If we hadn’t been trying to get away from the Bay Area smoke we may have never happened upon this gem o a spot-Angels Camp and The surrounding area are quite peaceful and relaxing. The Log was a perfect spot for my partner and I to get away and press pause on a fast paced hectic world. And now that we know it... we can’t wait to return.

My husband and myself are both retired. He and I enjoy fly fishing, tubing and fishing from our boat. He enjoys golfing as time permits. The "log" as we affectionally call it was a remodel done with my husband being the Contractor. The property was originally built by the Lewis family and changed hands several times. The interior remodel is unique and we would love to show it to you if time permits. We enjoy our home and hope you will as well.
