Charming little chocolate-box chalet, with two bedrooms, ideal for a romantic break “a deux” or a family ski trip. Chalet Greniette is an original extended “mazot”, (traditional garden chalets for Savoyarde farmhouses), which has been modernised and enlarged.

The space
Accommodation is spread out over three floors (see the floor plan in the photo gallery); there is parking right outside. On the ground floor is a twin bedroom and a funky white, black and silver bathroom with freestanding claw-foot bath and separate shower, and WC. Up the first circular staircase is the living space: a comfortable lounge with sofa and armchairs, a wood-burning stove and TV / DVD player, with double doors out onto a flat balcony (no railings, not suitable for small children). Next to the lounge is the modern kitchen, with dining table and chairs (the owners are keen cooks and have fitted the kitchen with everything you could need!) Adjacent to the kitchen is a large terrace, with balcony furniture in the summer season, and steps down to the parking area. Up a second circular staircase from the lounge, cosily nestling under the eaves of the roof, is the double bedroom, featuring the original ‘mazot’ arched wooden door, with a high-mounted bed and a WC and handbasin next door. Please note; the circular staircases are quite narrow and are not suitable for people with restricted mobility.

Guest access

1 bathroom, 2 WC;
Modern fitted kitchen (lots of gadgets);
Off-road parking;

Other things to note
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
Winter ski season (Dec 16 - April 14): bedlinen, towels and end of stay cleaning are included. Bookings usually run from Sunday to Sunday, and at peak times there is a minimum stay of 7 nights (Xmas, New Year, and Feb 4 - March 11).
The Rest of the year: (April 14 - Dec 16): bedlinen and towels are included. End of stay cleaning is payable locally and costs €50.
DAMAGE DEPOSIT: We take a €300 Damage Deposit on arrival, either in Euros or Sterling cash, or in a UK or Euro cheque. We refund this deposit on your departure as long as we are able to check the chalet properly on your departure. If this is not possible (if you are leaving very early or very late) we will withhold the Damage deposit until we have received the keys back and have been able to check the property, and we will then return it to you by bank transfer. Please note the deposit rises to €500 for mountain biking groups and for people bringing a dog.

I'm British born but have now been living more of my life in France than in the UK, and this is now my home. I've been running Mountain Highs Self-Catered Chalets and Apartments in Morzine since 1995 and I live just 15 mins down the valley from Morzine, with my 2 daughters, our border collie Sydney and our cats Tina and Asha. I enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing in the winter, and trekking, road biking and lake swimming in the summer, and reading and music whenever I get the time ;) I also love to travel and get to know new places...wish there was just more time to get to all the places I haven't been to yet! Morzine and the Portes du Soleil are a wonderful place to choose for a holiday and I feel I am very lucky to live here all year round. I am very keen for everyone who stays in our properties to have a great holiday and I personally spend a lot of time communicating with each and every Mountain Highs client. Don't hesitate to ask me if you'd like information that you don't see in my listings. I speak French, English and Italian, and can just about communicate in Spanish too, have patience!

During your stay
We're available by email or phone from the moment you book, and we can give you information on all the resort facilities and services. I (Rachel) will be the person who checks you in on arrival and will probably be the one that checks you out too - I live 10 mins down the road in St Jean D'aulps. We've been running Mountain Highs for 24 years now so we've amassed a wealth of knowledge about Morzine, the locals and the wider area!

*Additional Services Offered by Mountain Highs:*

Geneva Airport transfers: We operate our own airport transfer service in our licensed taxi minibus, which seats max 8 passengers in comfort with plenty of luggage space (VW Caravelle 4 x 4 long wheel base). We can offer shared transfers or private transfers, always door-to-door (unlike some transfer services who will drop you at the bus station!) – contact us for a competitive quote (Prices range from €60 per person return based on 4 travelling together, down to €47.50 return for 8 travelling together).

Lift pass purchase: We are able to arrange your lift passes in advance of your stay, so that they’re ready on your arrival at the apartment. We can take payment for these by credit card or bank transfer in advance, or cash on arrival in resort. We offer discounts of 5 – 10% for “early bird” bookings (up to 22nd November) and lower rates on local (Morzine-Les Gets) passes than you can buy in resort. For rates for your chosen stay, contact us.

Help with arranging child care or babysitting: we have contacts with the in-resort childcare companies and can make the initial enquiries for you. For ad-hoc babysitting we have a list of trusted contacts and can put you in touch with them after you have booked.

Start-up grocery shopping: for those arriving too late to be able to buy supplies on your first day, or if you’re arriving by airport transfer, if you contact us with your shopping list with 2 days’ advance notice, we can purchase and deliver your first days’ groceries for you, with a small charge.

Full or part-catered service: we work with several highly recommended freelance caterers who can provide a combination of breakfasts, afternoon tea, daily cleaning, children's suppers and adults 3 or 4 course dinner with or without wine included, and also a dinner delivery service.
