The space

Aloha Nature Lovers ! Watch the ships and waterfall from the huge wrap around deck as the horses graze in the pasture below. The stream has several totally private waterfalls and pools to enjoy and make for great hikes. Hiking and riding trails go for miles. Our turn key, off the grid, two story 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath. Lindal Cedar A Frame ranch house has great views from the upstairs loft. There is one king and one queen bed upstairs . The down stairs bedroom has a king as well. There are 2 futons and a couch to sleep on if needed also. The 60' of deck with ocean and mountain views make the hammock one of lifes great rewards! There is a granite top kitchen and Dish-TV. Outside you can sit under the stars around the camp fire and roast some marshmallows. There is plenty of room for safe tent camping for the kids all over the 4 acres of beautiful park like setting with rope swings and large shade trees across the property. We are situated between two tropical stream valleys with total privacy. Located 25 minutes north of Hilo and 30 minutes from Waipio Valley. The house is 1 mile from the highway with the last 1/4 mile dirt road. If you are looking for an over the river and through the woods getaway experience on the Big Island this is the place for you.
NOTE : Flooding may and does occur in North Hilo and the Big Island. Please use Extreme caution when near, swimming in or crossing any waterway. 4x4 or jeep is recommended for exploring back road areas on the island and to get to my place. 4x4 is required to access Wapio Valley, Green Sands Beach and Mauna Kea . Book a cheap car and ask for a jeep up grade when you arrive to get good rates on jeeps. Aloha and be Safe !

Definitely recommended as a place to explore all there is to see around Hilo and up to Waimea. It's fun to come home to a Jeep trail entrance, which takes under 10 minutes. If you like RVing like us, you'll appreciate this off-the-grid spot. This is a rare Airbnb where the hosts help you unload your bags! Since this was the halfway point of our trip, we just chilled at the house for two days. The waterfalls and swimming holes are worth it alone, but a big, comfortable house makes it even nicer. The surface-collected drinking water is clean and perfect. Killer star watching - we spent most of the time on the porches. The market/bar/post office down the street might lure you in for longer. This is the kind of community we could settle in...

This property was amazing :) Private Waterfall + free roaming horses and peacocks. Amazing spot for secluded rest + relaxation. Plus Keith will pick you fresh fruit, give you a tour, and light a bonfire. Happy days.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The workmanship put into the house was amazing, and totally off the grid. The views from the decks and bedroom were unbeatable. The falls and pools were as beautiful as any we have seen in Hawaii, and they are all yours to enjoy. Unfortunately, when we arrived the drought had dried up the falls and the pools we not hospitable looking for swimming. But the hike up and down the gulch was great nonetheless. You will definitely want a 4x4 vehicle to get there. We highly recommend this place.

The photos don't do this place justice. Everything is bigger, greener and awesome-er in person! Keith has meticulously curated his place and it shows incredible pride of ownership. The animals are hilarious to have around and provide a lot of comedy. The sounds of nature were so intense it was hard to sleep our first night, but after than we looked forward to the night symphony. Even though this place is pretty secluded, we found it to be incredibly easy to get in and out of and very central to all of our Hilo side excursions. Don't be intimidated by the need of 4 wheel drive. Once you cross the stream bed to and fro, it's just like backing out of your driveway. Not a big deal. Thank you Keith for sharing your home with us!

Amazing all around with a 5-star view! The place was clean and there was plenty to do around the area as far as activities. Keith was helpful and thorough. Be aware there is no AC or fans at the house but that is all apart of the experience!
