The Cottage is a converted dairy just 5 miles from the beautiful City of Bath. Surrounded by stunning open countryside with stunning views. A calm and peaceful space to relax and enjoy fabulous views, walks, golf/tennis, and near to some of the UK's most beautiful sites.

Next door there is another holiday house, which also sleeps four. The Cottage has its own private garden and patio area. Both properties can be rented at the same time so that two families can holiday together.

The space

The cottage is a self contained little house, next to our house. It is very warm and welcoming, and decorated with a stylish mixture of antiques and contemporary furniture. There is plenty to do in the local area, hiking, biking, golfing (Kingsdown Golf Course - 1 km or Cumberwell Park - 3 km), visiting our local award-winning pub, The Longs Arms, seeing the sights and shops of Bath and the pretty town of Bradford-on-Avon, or just relaxing with a DVD in this very comfortable cottage.

The tennis court is right outside the cottage. Guests are very welcome to use it. We have balls and racquets for you to borrow.

There is plenty of storage space for bikes if guests would like to bring these.

Guest access

The cottage makes up part of the former farmyard. There is plentyof garden space in which to roam. Beside the cottage is a small paved area, with table and chairs for your own private use.

There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other has two singles, with space in either bedroom for a travel cot (We have one you can use).

There is a great selection of DVDs, for kids and adults and plenty of games to play. You can go out into Bath for dinner or stay in and cook. The kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher and washing machine.

Interaction with guests

We can offer recommendations of places to visit, restaurants and things to do. We have two busy children and a dog, so are in and out but always on hand for as much support as our guests need.

We provide some goodies for you to make your own breakfast, bread, butter, jams, juice, oats, fresh coffee and a selection of teas.

Other things to note

A car is necessary as we are right in the countryside as we are not serviced by any public transport. There are local taxis companies who can be booked and are quite reasonable.

We arrived to beautiful home, greeted with home made bread and a very warm welcome from Julia. I have never stayed in a place so homely, from lighter candles to every personal touch you could think of. Would defo recommend this stay to everyone and will be going back again. Thank you Julia From Lynne and Kieron

This is a cosy, stylish cottage in a lovely peaceful rural setting. Fresh homemade bread and delicious jam along with other breakfast essentials are an added bonus. My son and I picked this cottage for its location close to Bath and our family and found it to be the perfect oasis after busy days. Our hosts were friendly and attentive but in no way intrusive. My sons 6 foot plus frame managed in one of the twin beds while I was extremely comfortable in my room. The linens are lovely and there is a good supply of kitchen equipment and utensils. I certainly recommend this little home away from home.

We had such a lovely stay for a week in Julia's cottage. My daughter loved Pebble (the dog), the tennis court and the vast amount of books in the cottage! Julia's communication before we arrived was excellent and we really appreciated the lovely food bits she left for us to enjoy. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend the cottage to any one. Our first cottage and air bnb (URL HIDDEN) won't be our last!

We stayed at Julia’s place as a central place to meet for 4 old uni friends, and the cottage and hospitality exceeded our expectations. The extra touches of coffee, eggs, home made bread(!), toiletries and picking apples from the orchard were an amazing surprise. The place was spotless and extremely comfortable, a home away from home in a beautiful countryside setting. We spent the weekend in bath, at bath spa, enjoying the great choice of coffee shops and restaurants and the cottage was the cherry on top of a perfect weekend. Thank you!
