The space

This small house was built in Valdres in year 1850 and has also been used as a stable on the way with the animals up to the mountains in the springtime and down from the mountains after the summer.

It was then moved to Oslo and eventually rebuilt for housing with warmth in all floors in addition to the fireplace and a bathroom with shower.

This house is very close to the enormous woods of Oslo called Nordmarka. You will be sleeping close to a lovely small river basin with the roar of the water except when the weather has been very dry. Most water in the spring and in the autumn.
There is not a separate kitchen, but a small refrigerator, coffee capsule machine, water kettle and a small oven with two cooking tops. But only water in the bathroom.
If you want to wash clothes there is a washing machine you can borrow in another building on the property.
Hairdryer is there.

We quite often see deer in the garden and of course ants or an occasional spider like in the forest. They are perfectly friendly.

Guest access

You can feel free to use the garden as much as you want. And it is lovely to do hiking in the woods from here. You will find books and maps about Nordmarka and other areas in Norway.

We also have access to one of Oslo's most beautiful Spas, just 15 minutes walk from here. You can enjoy the facilities for a reduced price if you talk to me first.

We spent a weekend at this charming small house and its beautiful surroundings and had a truly wonderful time. Despite the cold weather it was warm and cosy and really better than we even imagined. Elsebeth has really put love and care into making this little cabin the perfect getaway/relaxing experience and I would absolutely love to return again in the Summer. Communication with Elsebeth ws fantastic also!

This was the picture perfect cabin for our stay in Oslo. Close to the metro, 20 minutes to downtown, yet still secluded. The cabin is small, quaint, comfortable, and truly magical. We highly recommend you stay here when in Oslo.

The views from the cottage are absolutely stunning no matter what time of day. Absolutely stunning scenery and a perfect cottage to suit. Such an enjoyable stay and would definitely come back here very soon. Elsebeth was available to help at any time, not that we needed it as everything was ready for us. Such a wonderful cottage and definitely reccomend if you're wanting to sight see in Oslo or walk the hills above. Perfect location for both.

Elsebeth is a great host with a lovely little cottage to offer. The description was accurate and the views were amazing. Waking up there every morning was a pleasure. I would and have recommended this cottage to family and friends, and we will be returning!

This is a wonderful place to stay when in Oslo. It's outside the bustle of the city center in a quiet residential neighborhood, but it's easy to get downtown from here, whether by car or public transportation. The cabin itself is cozy and comfortable, the fireplace is a nice touch on a cool Norwegian evening (and also puts out a LOT of heat), and Elsebeth is a very warm and gracious host. She was happy to answer our questions about the area, and unobtrusively checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. My wife and I had a wonderful time. Highly recommend this if you are looking for something out of the ordinary.
