I started the Moroccan adventure in 2006 after a particularly harsh winter in England,(where I live when I'm not in Rome, and now in Marrakech or traveling), which had caused me a cold/glare after the other, I decided to leave for a warm place, even with the idea of exploring a possible real estate investment. After 4 days spent in Marrakesh I was healed and I also fell in love with the city! The idea of buying a riad in Marrakech was very well combined with that of having an activity; that it took me away from the museum where I worked part-time to reach a hot spot for at least 3 or 4 days a month justifying such absences with a work project. So I started looking for the right place (the location was fundamental for me) and the right riad (for my budget) , it took almost two years and then the work started ( even the ones to be supervised every month, very happy to escape from London!) and the work also lasted a long time and then there was the pleasant but tiring company to make it done by the local artisans every piece following my drawings and their advice. This is how Riad (hidden website) is still traveling, from Japan to Nepal, Buthan and even closer destinations but the magic of Marrakech still has its effect and I come back as often as possible.
