Guest access

The entire cottage and its surrounding yards are available including private roads at the upper part of the mountain.Parking for 3 cars comfortably.Walk up the mountain to the saddle and see all of Dingle Bay. Ask property manager(Joe) for directions on how to access the Kerry Way hiking trail. There are working farms about so sheep shearing and sheep moving of flocks takes place in the vicinity. Please ask if it is ok to watch and keep any gates you encounter closed. It is recommended that you have a car to stay at the property, as it is 6 miles from the nearest town.

Interaction with guests

Guests MUST contact property manager(Joe OSullivan) by text email or phone call the DAY BEFORE arrival to determine when you will meet for Checkin. Checkin is usually 5 pm, a little later is ok, but Joe works , so earlier can be difficult for him. This is important as he can give you an accurate estimate of how long it will take you to get to the area- and HOW to get here. Please read location details thoroughly, as gps, postal code and maps are essential for easily locating the turnoff.

Other things to note

We make every attempt to keep the house at a comfortable temperature for all guests. Those guests BEFORE you may not want the house as warm or as cold as you are accustomed. We have folks coming from hot and cold climates. The wall heaters in the bedrooms are there for that purpose. You can also make as many fires in the fireplace as you would like- which warms up the house quickly.

The Mountain cottage is a great place as a base. The best part is eating your breakfast overlooking the mountain and so quiet at night.

First AIR experience and super impressed. Communication was great and Joe, property manager couldn't have been any more obliging and helpful, a super guy. The house was very cosy and clean with adequate essentials and in very pretty location. Would have loved more time. Thanks Joe and Michelle for making first experience a positive one.

Perfect stay in your place. Joe was really helpful and friendly with us. So many things to see and do in 3 days. My advice will be to stay longer next time.

Perfect if you are looking for a quiet place to get away. Kids loved the garden/fields/little stream around the house. Cosy cottage with lots of character. Our stay inspired a lot of drawing and painting for the whole family. Particularly liked Kells Bay House and Gardens.

Michelle responded to my online queries very quickly and gave lots of good advice. Her property manager Joe is very friendly, meet us promptly at the designated spot and was full of advice and local tips of were to eat/visit etc. The house itself is fantastic if you want to escape it all....the sun room offers fantastic views and a brilliant spot to sit, relax and have our meals. T.V. And wifi were not missed! Unfortunately, we had cloudy skies so didn't get to star watch... Tip! Keep a eye on we're you turn off the road when following Joe to the house...took us a couple attempts to find the house on our own... thankfully Michelle has some very friendly neighbours who didn't mind us driving up their lane!

We were welcomed to the cottage by Joe who was very informative and helpful on local activities and sights. We were provided with enough fuel to light the first fire which was greatly appreciated. The house was perfectly clean and warm when we arrived. Its description on the site was perfect, the cottage is cosy and beautiful. It has everything you need for cooking and it is very peaceful. Bring a pair of slippers, as the tiles can be cold in the mornings! A car is a necessity for getting around and there is an abundance of sights and walks to do. We highly recommend dinner at the Mooring in Portmagee, and a trip to the Skelligs/Valentia island.
