About this listing
Downtown renovated 1 bedroom apartment with a comfortable bed in a heritage-listed balcony house. Very quiet, windows view inner courtyard. 200m from Wenceslas Square (Prague's main square), 10 minutes from central train station. Free wireless wifi, cable tv, washer, fridge. Our guests wrote "Metro, trams, famous sites, excellent restaurants and cafés are all very short walks from the flat. The hosts are Prague people so they know the city intimately and are happy to help with anything."
The windows face into a balcony above a courtyard, so although you will be right in the city centre, the apartment is completely quiet. It is on the first floor of a historical balcony house (no lift here) which is one of the oldest in Prague - its foundation goes back to the 14th century (but don't expect a palace). There are several luxury hotels in the street, but this is still mainly residential area where the locals live.
In the bedroom, there is a queen size bed and a folding sofa bed made for a separate sleeping arrangement ( let us know ahead, we will prepare the 2nd bed for you).
In summer, If you want to to have your morning coffee among flowers or hang your laundry you are free to use our large balcony (we live right next door), just ask for the key.
Interaction with guests
We live next door and we are here if you need us.
The apartment is in the very centre of Prague. The neighbourhood is full of cafés, pubs, bookshops, stores, cinemas and others. What's more, it is the best place to start exploring Prague - almost any important place of interest in Prague is at most 30 minutes away by walking.
There are several ways of getting to the flat from the airport:
1. Public transport.
Bus 119 (it costs 32 CZK) to Nádraží Veleslavín, where you transfer to the A subway line (the green one). Take a ride to Můstek (sixth station) and exit in the direction: Václavské náměstí. Then, it's a five minute walk to the flat, which is located in Stepanska street (the street has Starbucks on the corner. The flat is in the midle of the street.
2. Aiport express
You can take a bus "Airport express" which costs 60 CZK and goes to the Main train station (Hlavní nádraží) where you transfer to the C subway line (the red one) and take a ride (24 CZK) to "Muzeum", where you will exit in the upper part of the Wenceslas square (Václavské náměstí). From there, it takes around six minutes to get to our flat, which is located in Stepanska street (the street has Starbucks on the corner. The flat is in the middle of the street.
We recommend NOT taking taxis from the taxi rank in front of the airport - you may be overcharged. Instead, call AAA Taxi on the numb when you arrive in the exit hall, or the Nejlevnější taxi +, or Uber if you have the app. There is also a Czech version of UBER called LIFTAGO (you will need app). Taking the taxi to the flat should not cost more than 600 CZK.
If you come by your own car be aware parking in the centre of Prague is a pain. You will need to find a paid parking spot since parking in the centre's streets is illegal for non-permanent residents. There are several options, of which we recommend the following two:
1. Parking Centrum, Wilsonova 372/6, Prague 1. Price per car per day - 650 CZK (more expensive, but larger capacity, so finding a spot is almost guaranteed)
2. Václavské garáže, Václavská 18, Praha 2. Price per car per day 500CZK
3. MR.PARKIT Václavské n. 490 CZK, Panská 500 CZK
These are not the only options and we recommend searching the internet for the most up-to-date info.
Other things to note
We don´t serve breakfast, but the kitchen is well equipped and there are always 2 kinds of coffee, tea, sugar, cream, oil, salt, and vinegar. Free wifi, fridge, microwave oven, washer, towels, linens, cable tv, many tourist guides + maps for your use. Last not least, Prague has a great and cheap storage system at almost all train and bus stations.
The default check-in is between 14,00 and 15,00. Later check-in (even very late) is possible but let us know in advance. No parties, keep quiet after 22:00 (our neighbours like us, so we would like to keep it this way). The apartment is non smoking and not childproof, suitable for children over 7. No pets, please.

I was born in Prague and have lived here my whole life. After my older children moved out, we split our big family flat into 2 new, completely separated apartments, one of them we listed with Airbnb. My main hobby as well as profession are books. I took a course for tour-guides, so I can give you some pointers to interesting parts of the city. And last but not least is my love of good food. All of my guests are provided with a list of recommended restaurants and cafés, which, believe me, took a lot of hard work to put together :).
