Privacy, Panoramic 7-mile long pristine Rangeley Lake. 1.5 miles to town on Maine's Scenic Rt. 4 relaxation, fishing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, biking, wildlifephotography & lupine flowers in June. Stunning views from open kitchen/living area layout - 3 decks for sunning or entertainment. You are almost guaranteed to see deer, Mr. Fox, moose, or eagles flying above the deck. No pets live on property however, dogs only upon pre-approval. $25 fee.

The space

2 1/2 bedrooms (walk-thru bedroom with pull-out twin ottoman), 2 full baths. 3 couches & all long enough for a 6 ft person to sleep. One couch is a 1 pull-out firm FULL-SIZE click clack-style (by TV) in front living area -This is also where there are extra linens, 1 pull-out twin ottoman in separate room adjoining a bedroom. Open kitchen w/ 3 living areas, long trestle table (10 p-. add leafs). Two wood stoves with 2 heat monitors and electric baseboard heat as well if you ever lose power. We have an outside wrap-around deck around the whole front of the house, along with 2 separate decks on each side of house. We don't shovel the decks in winter. There is the owner's apartment that is private and located under house, we are RARELY ever there if a guest is in the house. If we happen to be there for part of your stay, we will not intrude or come into your space. Kitchen offers an electric stove with an abundant amount All Clad cookware, every utensil you need, and just about every spice, there may be some food items that will be in the fridge, such as condiments. I do put milk, orange juice, eggs, and half & half in the fridge for you to use. You can use what you need or ignore them. Both yards have beautiful grass, bushes and trees surrounding the property. fruit trees, Wild Maine blueberries (during late July and August) bushes in each meadow. Driveway is rather steep, just fine for even our "Smart car" to make it up but you need a running start in winter months! This yard is incredibly private, it's so enjoyable to take advantage of that feature. So lay in the Sun stretch on the deck and watch the Eagles soar by! There are 3 eagles who regularly fly over the house every day. There are two Eaglets that look like large crows who often fly with Mom. You can spot them doing acrobatics on the sky.

Guest access

The entire upstairs level of the house is available, the decks, yards and all the rooms on your level. The downstairs laundry, an extra bath and massage room as well. We do have deeded rights to the HOLA Association located about a quarter of a mile towards town (Burr Rd.) from the property. It's a small park-like environment with boats, canoes and kayaks docked, a roped-off swimming area and floating dock. There's also public access to the town dock and park that is located just about 2 miles away. A small fire pit on side of house with chairs for sitting out by the fire in the storage shed. You're welcome to pitch your tent and sleep by the fire. Buy your own wood or check out what you can scavenge in the woods.

Interaction with guests

If you have questions I'm always happy to help. Don't hesitate to call me on my cell. This space is yours and we'd be happy to lend a hand if you need it, otherwise we will respect your privacy!

We have an apartment in the lower level of the home. We try to only be there briefly during your departure/arrival, if this rare situation occurred, we would be stealth-like!

Other things to note

(SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps correctly locates our driveway. properly locates our home. You can't see your next door neighbor in the summer...only across the lake on the hill and a home a couple of acres away that is soon to be built. This location is secluded, private although very accessible to the town and things to do. There is some poison Ivy in the bushes, look for the 3 shiny leaves and keep away if your exploring/locating the blueberry bushes on the front hill.

We enjoyed our 10-day stay in Lisa's house. Pros Great location: secluded, very nice view, close to the lake (0.3 mi). Short drive to the downtown with a supermarket, a coffee shop with great coffee, beach, a playground (5 min drive); close to hiking trails and Smalls waterfalls (10-15 min drive) Well-equipped kitchen. We found everything we needed. 2 bedrooms with very comfortable beds, both are non-adjacent to the main living area so my husband could watch TV after my bedtime without disturbing me. A lot of games, books, DVDs. Good communication with Lisa. Cons Slow internet - this may have been specific to our stay due to local storms at the time. No dishwasher - not a problem in itself, but the kitchen sink and faucet are positioned deeper than is typical and I had to bend forward to wash the dishes, which hurt my back.

We had an amazing week in Rangeley. The best part of this house is the location (if you want to be close to town) and the view from the windows. Absolutely outstanding.

Response from Lisa:
Hi Deborah, We had certainly cleaned the house well prior to your arrival. The wind brings pollen and dust by leaving the windows open to keep the house cool. If we don't do that prior to you arriving, the house would be stiffelingly hot. Since we don't have A/C to keep the house cool, being on the hill does make the house appear to be dusty. I'm sorry if you felt it was not clean. You can dust and 10 minutes later the pine and cedars drop the pollen on the TV area especially.

The house is exactly as depicted. It's very warm and welcoming and comes with a spectacular view. It's close to a legit grocery store and the kitchen is well-equipped. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice getaway!

Or family of 4 had a great time. We visited in early April and had everything from warm and sunny to 6" of new snow. The house had everything we needed regardless of the weather. The house is in a perfect location to see the sunsets and unwind at the end of the day. The kitchen has everything you need to make full meals if you choose to do so. Lisa was very quick to reply to our messages. Definitely recommended!

I'm an avid snowmobiler in the winter and decided to make a trip to Rangeley after hearing great things about the trail system. Since this winter sport can be pretty expen sive, I usually go cheap on lodging. I found Lisa's house online which included everything one could need at an affordable rate. I've stayed in homes that were more expensive and offered less. The only downside is you wont be able to turn the trailer around in the driveway without unhitching. This wasnt a big deal to me, but might be more difficult for anyone that tows a trailer longer than 20 feet. In that case you can always park the trailer in town if needed. When I decide to head back to Rangeley in the future, I hope this house is available.

I'm a person with little time to get away from work. I appreciate the use of an interesting and relaxing place to escape, if only for a couple of days. Hiking, gardening, reading and sleeping are some of my favorite activities! I'm an easy traveler, preferring a light load and a nice music selection and great kitchen a plus!
