We had a good stay in Lucia's small beachside house. The house is very well located, between the village on one side and a beautiful swimming spot on the other (insenatura Acqua viva). The swimming hole is one of the most beautiful we've been to, and was almost deserted in late May when we were there. The terrace is beautiful with views of the sea. Lucia was kind enough to get her son to drive us from Lecce to Castro, which was very practical. The house does need however a good number of necessary things which are not currently provided. The weather was very bad when we arrived (no fault of Lucia of course!) but we were very cold as there was no heater and no blankets, though Lucia did bring us an extra blanket upon request. A heater and some blankets are thus absolutely necessary in case of bad weather. The kitchen could also be better equipped: no kettle, no appropriate cooking knife, no cutting board, no toaster, nothing for breakfast. Another issue is the always open skylight in the bedroom. The skylight cannot be closed, meaning that the bedroom is flooded with light very early in the day, making sleeping-in difficult. The hot water heater in the bathroom is also very limited, meaning hot water often runs out after one shower. All in all though a great stay in a beautiful location.
