The Stables is situated within the grounds of the old Cardean Woodland. It's ideally placed for exploring the local countryside: walking or cycling in the Angus Glens and the Perthshire hills, or skiing in Glenshee or golfing in world renown courses.

The space
We consider The Stables to provide good value, high quality short term rental accommodation.

Are you looking for luxury, stylish self-catering holiday accommodation in Perthshire / Tayside? Would you like a taste of real rural living with the comfort and the service of a hotel, in the luxuriously furnished surroundings of a converted barn with all the facilities you expect? The Stables offers the perfect retreat for romantic couples, families and friends wanting both peace and quiet as well as easy access to either Perth or Dundee or Glenshee.

Are you working in the Dundee or Perth areas for a few nights, several weeks or even longer? Would you like the space, comfort and convenience of a home in a beautiful rural location? At The Stables, you can enjoy a home-like furnished apartment that can cost less per night than a hotel.

The Stables is self-contained luxurious holiday self-catering cottage which sleeps 6 adults. It has a luxurious open-planned kitchen dining and sitting area, 3 modern en-suite bedrooms, a well provisioned gym and a large walled garden area with barbecue for dining al fresco. The Stables truly offers the highest standard of attention to detail, comfort, fittings, furnishings, design and service.

Guest access
You will have full access to the property including the Gym, the walled garden and also the extensive grounds and river.

The East Barn garden is a particular special feature of the property. It is mature, well stocked and full of colour in the Spring and Summer. Low stone walls and cobbled pathways divide the garden into various sheltered areas which are ideal for sitting out and relaxing. The barbecue area offers table and seating for up to eight people.

Originally part of the Cardean Estate and dating from about 1859, the Stables and the surrounding estate is a great space to pause, rest and reflect between your days adventures and / or heavy work schedule.

Originally part of Cardean Estate and dating from about 1859, the Stables and its coach house were converted into residential accommodation in 2000. Some of the adjoining barns were demolished and a walled garden was created in their place. The house has lots of traditional character while also being bright and comfortable.

I love all animals especially cats. We have two cats called Sorcha and Orlaith. They are Maine Coons and are sisters. They are very cute and are great company for us. They love living here as do we... I love food, especially eating my husband, Michael's cooking: whether it's Italian, Spanish, French, Thai, Cantonese or Indian - I love it all. He loves experimenting, fusing different cuisines and I love to provide critical tasting reviews of his gastronomic endeavours :-) His signature dish is 'Tuscany Beef' - delish!!! I love 'Eighties' Music. and every year I attend the Rewind 80's Festival in Scone Palace. I even dress-up in 80's vintage costume to help me best relive the excitement and joy of that marvellous musical age. Another passion of mine is Jazzercise. I manage a local class 2-nights a week and I also attend 1-2 other nights and sometimes even a Saturday morning ;-) It's such good fun and makes me to so happy and fit too - I highly recommend it for everyone. We absolutely love walking locally. Never a weekend goes by without a walk. Where we live we can walk through some of our Glorious Glens or Fabulous Forests or Marvellous Mountains - such a soulful, relaxing and healthy pastime. My favourite holiday ever was to San Francisco to celebrate an important birthday. It was a fantastic experience, a holiday of a lifetime - we seemed to do everything ... from a tour of the Napa Valley tasting the local intoxicating good produce, to reliving the lives of prisoners in Alcatraz, to walking across the iconic golden gate bridge (trying desperately hard not to look down the improvised drainage holes) and then absorbing the quiet oasis that is the Golden Gate Park to touring China Town and drinking tea for two hours followed by three hours of devouring Dim Sung. My favourite book is 'The Time Traveler's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger. The story is about Henry, who involuntarily travels through time, and Clare, the woman who loves him for almost her entire life. This beautiful love story draws me in and makes me want to go back and read parts of the novel again and again. The song I love throughout most of my years is 'Father Figure' by George Michael. It is so passionate so haunting, so well written and so meaningful. From powder-white snow, to crystal-clear seas, to golden brown beaches to the green green grasses of home I love to travel to explore to discover special destinations on holiday. Some where I can truly relax, get back to the real me, and let my Mojo shine. We want our guests to feel our home is their home. We keep in touch with our guests before they arrive checking their understanding of directions to our home and making them aware of our locality and facilities. We offer support and guidance to help them make the most of their visit. We ensure a warm, and informative, welcome. We then, disappear and leave them to enjoy their time, albeit we are only a doorbell, text, call away should they ever need anything :-) I feel good if my guests have had a good time in our home. Maybe, hopefully, we will see you soon :-) Love, Michelle x
