Dereck was very responsive and ensured he was there to check us in and to show us around if needed. He was almost on call to us as and when we needed as they were staying down the path. Also great in returning an item the very next day that I had left behind. Great for outdoor use in good weather as the garden is very spacious. House is lovely and warm, would have been great to have use of the real fire but we weren't there for too long and there wasn't instructions as to how to use it - so wasn't quite sure if we could. I'm sure that Derek would have assisted us if needed however. Would recommend this property, but definitely need a car to access as it is not directly close to public transport.

Lovely views, lovely hosts. The house is well designed, warm and comfortable with a great bathroom as well as picture windows in the living room and bedroom. Durham is a short drive away. Derek and Wendy were helpful and fun and left us well stocked in the kitchen. Recommended!

Derek and Wendy's home was a haven away from the hustle and bustle. Although i stayed for work, i would be keen to return in the future for a social stay. The views are spectacular and the free-standing bath is wonderful. They very kindly left some essentials- bread, cheese etc. which was appreciated and kindly showed me how each appliance worked before saying goodbye and enabling me to settle in. One of the nicest Airbnb experiences so far (and i travel a lot for work!) Thank you again x

Derek and Wendy really welcomed us into their home and it was such a lovely, relaxing base for our few days in the Durham area. We were bowled over by the loveliness of the location and how this cosy home took full advantage of its position. A reasonably short walk along a country track took us to a bus route into Durham that runs the 6 mile journey several times an hour late into the evening. A 5 minute drive, or 40 minute country walk, took us to the lovely Cafe No. 4 in nearby Langley Park for the most delightful afternoon tea or cooked breakfast. I'd definitely recommend this home for a stay in the Durham area for those who prefer the peace and quiet of a country location to the bustle of the town.
