Bed and light breakfast in the centre of a quiet Cotswold town only a short walk from the railway station (Oxford 15 mins) and local facilities. Two double, adjoining, well-appointed first-floor rooms with private landing area. Parking, if needed, in our drive.
We had Lower Watts House designed and built twenty years ago and it has lived up to its expectations – the clue is in the name - using a fraction of the energy of a comparable building. The layout of the large house naturally lends itself to separately accommodating four guests in two double first-floor rooms with a private landing seating area. Please be aware that there are no cooking facilities (guests usually walk up to eat at one of two local inns). Secure bicycle stabling is available.
Access to the Annex is through the house front door and up the stairs. We offer two double first-floor bedrooms - the Green & Blue room and lovely private curtained landing area to relax in. Breakfast is served in our dining room downstairs. There is a shared, large bathroom which is for your exclusive use. You are also welcome to enjoy and use the front garden. The house kitchen and back garden are for our own, private use.
Interaction with guests
I can provide lots of local information - places to visit, restaurants, theatre, train times and can arrange taxis if needed. I can also give advice on local walks and cycle rides (happy to loan maps and guide books). I am present and on-hand throughout the guest's stay, as my wife and I live in the main part of the house.
I enjoy walking, both in the glorious Cotswold's and further afield and feel privileged to have raised our children in such a nice town. I am closely involved in local community life, and a walk up to the shops can take twenty minutes, as I chat to folks on the way. I love the changing seasons and look forward to aspects of each of them. A perfect winter's evening for me would be sitting by the fire playing my vinyl collection - which seems to have stood the test of time.
