The space
The house has a high panoramic view over the Gloucester-Sharpness canal with its daily kaleidoscope of canal bank and water based activities. Important Notice: Tony re-opened his CanalViewBnB in August 2020, after nearly five-months of lock-down due to Covid-19. Having completely redecorated the whole house, installed some new items of furniture, and set in place new social-distancing and hygiene rules, guests can be assured a high level of safety. Tony Latham is a retired international filmmaker, who specialized in multi-language development films in third world countries, and other types of productive media. Current passions include writing books, growing high-value food crops, conservation and biodiversity projects. Using DIY skills, Tony has transformed his home to include three en-suite double bedrooms, a modenized and enlarged kitchen, and a very productive vegetable and fruit garden. His first privately-funded book, 'The Story of a Cornish Village - Lanreath,' historical in nature, was published early October 2015, and is selling well. His next book, 'Wildlife Adventures in the Sundarban' (Bangladesh) is projected to be published before the end of 2016. Tony is a passionate story-teller, who never lets the truth spoil a good yarn. In the first three-months as a host of airbnb, Tony was awarded SuperHost status, gaining 100% five-star rating from all guests - now extended to more than six-years times in subsequent three-month periods. Tony offers two double en-suite guest rooms, each with a walk-in shower, with one facing the canal. Many of my guests attend weddings at Elmore Court, just five minutes drive away. Those who do check in early, and I offer a free drop-off to the manor if required. On return, my guests normally hitch a lift back with friends, dropping off after crossing Sellars swing bridge, and walking the last 200-yards back along the canal.
