A beautiful dog friendly cottage in the perfect location - overlooking Coniston Lake with a spectacular view from the upstairs bedroom window. The cottage was a perfect romantic getaway for us as a couple, but with 3 bedrooms could easily accommodate a family. The cottage was very clean, well furnished/equipped and really cosy and homely. You could happily stay there and not go out! Especially with a wood burner in the living room! Jane the host was extremely friendly and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Communication was great all the way through. The only small point you need to be a bit careful of is the road leading to the cottage as it is quite windy, fairly steep and narrow (although short). You may struggle with a larger car but it is possible as we did it ok with a Citroen DS5 which is pretty large - but it was tight. Certainly not to put you off however as most cars will be fine. Location of the cottage is fantastic with a 2-3 minute walk to the very pretty and small village which has all you need (newsagents, three fantastic pubs, a quiet little pizza place and a small coop). The Lake itself is only a 2 minute drive or a 10 minute walk (parking is available on the water front by the cafe). We hired boats on the lake which was fab! We would recommend Tarn Hows nearby as well as it is stunning. This cottage has it all and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. If you find this - don't hesitate, just book it. You won't be disappointed! We hope to return in future.

Beautifully styled cottage with views of Coniston Water. We had a lovely stay with three generations of our family enjoying the cosiness of the log fire and the proximity to the attractions, both in Coniston itself and the wider Lakes. Thoroughly recommended.

Cozy cottage with great interior design. All the details inside are very well decorated. You can definitely tell the hosts have been put in a lot to do that. Jane and her husband are very nice to us. They are always there to answer any questions we got. There are some great restaurants nearby that worth checking out. One of them is called Steam Bistro, but make sure you book a table beforehand. And wish you jinniandajiba.

A lovely cottage that had a very homely feel. The hostess was great at getting back to our messages and questions. Everything you could reliably want is included: cutlery, crockery, fridge/freezer already switched on, TV, bedding, towels, even logs for the fire! Perfect location as the village centre is but a short walk away. Location can be a little hard to find so suggest looking at the photos provided and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps to see the brown hut you turn off at on the main road! The place was certainly nice and clean; I didn't find a spec of dirt in the entire house and I know that will be important to a lot of people. Comfy sofa, WiFi provided and we really enjoyed our time here.

I have lived in Coniston for many years and raised a family here. I love the village and the surrounding area and all it has to offer. I am happy to give advice to people on walks bike rides and other activities available in and around the lakes.
