The space
You'll be captured by the views through the picturesque windows as soon as you enter. The contrast of the green grass, the sky, and the blue waters of the beautiful Pacific Ocean and Chetco River are a sight to see that you will never get tired of. The colors of nature warm your soul. And the sounds of the sea calm your spirit. From the forest above to the ocean below, the Chetco River flows. This is the magical place where the river meets the sea and you will have an up-close view of the boats going in and out - fishing boats, sailboats, kayaks and even the Coastguard.
The cozy atmosphere, yet spacious rooms give you a feeling of home. Professionally designed, with high-quality furniture and bedding, you will surely find comfort and relaxation here. The fully-appointed kitchen and dining area will help you make the most memorable dmeals with an unforgettable ocean view. You will find ample space in the kitchen to cook and it has beautiful, custom-made Mahogany Countertops.
The private deck offers comfortable seating and a perfect place to have your morning coffee. The patio area features an outdoor grill and has more seating with views of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. The lush green lawn seems to just drop off into the ocean. If you listen closely, you can hear the sounds of the crashing waves, you might hear the seals barking from the docks, or the many sounds of the seabirds. In the Summer you will see lots of pelicans. If you watch closely, you might even see a whale. Spring and Winter are migration times, so don't forget those binoculars! If you are lucky you might see the Coast Guard training in the surf during rough weather. They are truly amazing and have saved many lives. Visitors are sometimes unaware of conditions, so always check weather and tides before venturing out. You may find a tide chart at the State Welcome Center, at the Port Office, or online. If you search online make sure you have the correct area on the map.
If the beach is your destination, we have so many to choose from. You can stay close to home or venture out to a serene beach where there is no one in sight. There are many miles of exploring near the water, whether you want to walk, play or just relax. Our State Parks are a great place to start! But make sure to bring layers of clothing, as it can get chilly, even on summer evenings.
For picnics or sunsets at the beach, our local favorite, Sporthaven Beach, is just below and is a great place to run your toes through the sand and maybe get your feet wet! The water can be cold though. Bring a wetsuit if you plan on swimming or if you are a surfer you‘ll love our beaches! Have a bonfire at night and maybe roast marshmallows.
Beach towels are provided for your use and there are games, movies, magazines and music CDs to add to the experience.
After a long day turn on the beautiful modern electric fireplace to warm up or just add to the romantic ambiance. Relax or recline in a comfortable recliner. Or cozy up on the new luxurious automatic reclining couch and wrap yourself with a soft blanket. Enjoy a movie, or take advantage of the 65" Smart TV and hook up to your favorite app.
When night falls, the lights start twinkling over the Harbor and you will see a sprinkle of homes throughout the hillside. The Harbor lights up and it is a whole new view of the scenery below.
