The space

The feeling of absolute comfort and relaxation and being "at home" is what is truly unique about this period terraced house. There are 4 bedrooms, one has a super king size bed another a king size bed and the other 2 have queen size, the house is full of character, beautifully decorated giving the overall feel of opulence, and comfort, accommodating 8 people, having been restored by its owner, a well known interior designer.
The property is full of wonderful details, like the 6 ft clawfoot cast iron bath, for that leisurely soak, or the restaurant quality range cooker set amongst the traditional style handmade kitchen, full of all the modern conveniences you would expect to whip up either a quick snack or a gourmet meal.

There are 3 reception areas; the main drawing room, has a 5 seater pink velvet couch and working open fireplace, connecting through to the dining room which features a wonderful antique mahogany dining table with seating for 8; double doors leading out to an outdoor terrace the centrepiece of which has a wonderful antique candle-lit wrought iron chandelier, along with wall sconced candle lighting.

The fully equipped kitchen has a center island for cooking and dining and also has a seating area with armchairs, flanked with wool mohair blankets and a wood burning stove, for those chilly evenings, a side door to the winter terrace, and double doors leading onto the summer terrace.

The terracotta and marble floor tiling in the outdoor terrace are the original tiles from the kitchen when the house was built.

Meanwhile the summer terrace, surrounded with climbers and roses has a barbecue, fountain, lighting, garden loungers and garden table with 4 chairs perfect to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the south-west evening sun (and a large umbrella).

The romantic master bedroom has a 6 ft canopy bed and runs the entire width of the front of the house.
All bedrooms have feather pillows and duvets, and all bed are dressed in 100% high thread count cotton bed clothes.
The main bathroom has the bath and an electric shower which is typically Irish low pressure but the top floor shower in the attic is a power shower .
The house comes to life when its full of people and has a wonderful atmosphere, especially at Christmas time.

Karen's home is so gorgeous! Karen greeted us with a smile and a bottle of Proseco and lots of great advise of where to go and what to see. The house is as good as the photos. Very clean and very comfortable. The beds were pefect and the bathrooms, water pressure and temperature perfect. We could not fault our stay at this home.

This house was absolutely charming and comfortable. The beds were great, the house spotless, and Karen was such a great hostess. Our concerns that the house was too far from Temple Bar area were totally dispelled. It was easy to catch a bus, and less than a 20 minute walk. This house was one of the hightlights of our trip. I will recommend this house to any of my friends.

Very comfortable and convenient home. Fabulous comfy beds and wonderful antique furniture make this a very special place. My family and I really enjoyed our 2 day stay, and my daughter loved the cosy top floor, with a brilliant shower

The house was built approximately 100 years ago and is in a row of similar houses on a residential street. I don't have the expertise to say what is from the period of the house, but there lots of details which appear from the period in which the house was built. The house is utterly charming. Old wallpaper, old light switches, old furniture. New kitchen and televisions. The wifi worked beautifully. The house is three stories, with a living room, dining room, kitchen, den and a closet room (about literally) on the ground floor, with a small back yard. The second floor has three utterly charming bedrooms and a bathroom. A narrow staircase leads up to another open area and a small bedroom which were likely servants' quarters when the house was built. The house is furnished comfortably and there are lots of shops nearby if you want to cook. Karen met us, showed us the house, texted us when my husband parked in a pay zone, let one of my kids with a later flight stay a few hours and otherwise was an amazing host. We would gladly stay again.

Karen's house is absolutely stunning, and she did everything to accommodate me and my family. The house is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It feels like coming home after a long day of sightseeing. The location is perfect with shops and restaurants right in town and an easy drive to the middle of the Dublin. Would absolutely stay again, thanks Karen!

Highly recommended! We were warmly welcomed by Karen who left bubbles, breads and jams in the house for us. The house is amazing, with many rooms, each decorated beautifully with plenty of space, which was perfect for us. Located only a short taxi ride from the city centre and a short walk from Rathgar and Rathmines villages. Karen went out of her way to accommodate our requirements which was very much appreciated - we'd love to stay again at some point in the future. Thanks a lot Karen.

The house is just gorgeous. We loved every minute we stayed in it. Located just perfect in a quiet neighborhood and yet you are in Dublin City within minutes. We were a group of 5 and had more than enough room and space. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Lovely living room for quiet evenings. All in all: Possible that we will book that again sometime :-) Karen is a great host. She is easy to contact and looked after us more than we could ask for. Thanks again Karen.

Hi ! I am a scorpio !!! need I say any more! By nature I am artistic, I love Colour, Fabrics and Antiques. My passion is houses, especially decorating them , and reddecorating them, I always seem have a plan of some sort hatching :-) SO I am very lucky that my passion is also my job. I am an interior designer, and run my own business. Before I began my interior design carreer, I was a fashion designer, I guess design is a bit of an obsession with me too. So I am delighted to share my lovely home with my guests allowing them to enjoy it as I do. My other love is socialising which is an umbrella for travelling, eating out and good wine :-). I enjoy keeping fit at the local gym, and walking up the mountains nearly every day.I could live on seafood and dark chocolatetry to "Live Now" .
Looking forward to meeting all my new guests
