Sea Eagle Retreat is haven for recharging and reflection nestled in the stunning surrounds of Tasmania's holiday playground. It is located on the calm shores of Moulting Bay and a short drive to the seaside town of St Helens and the stunning Bay of Fires

Use as a base for exploring the local area or just sit and chill on the deck and enjoy a drink of choice — and like us, we hope that every guest who stays will love it as much as we do.

The space
A relaxing coastal getaway for family and friends filled with sun, sand and sea, Sea Eagle Retreat has everything you need and nothing you don't.

Decorated with love and care, the house is filled with carefully collected seaside memorabilia and treasures . It is a comfortable space celebrating a typical Tasmanian shack culture and certainly doesn't aspire to be a luxury hotel and that’s just how we like it.

Enjoy the peaceful surroundings, sleep in, and appreciate a slower pace.

There are 3 cosy bedrooms for up to 6 guests. Fall into quality mattresses and linen for the most restful night's sleep.

The master bedroom is located at the Eastern wing of the home and features a queen-size bed, it's own ensuite bathroom and sliding door access to a private outdoor nook and views of the expansive lawns and bay beyond. There are no other bedrooms located at this end of the house so it is the perfect couples retreat.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 feature double beds and are located in the Western wing of the house and both feature super comfy double beds. The main bathroom is also located in this wing along with a second living area that is perfect for those travelling in a group or with children and provides options to enjoy some private space away from the hub of the house. Like the eastern wing the western wing also enjoys views of the expansive lawn and bay views.

Both the ensuite and main bathroom have been recently updated and are calm and functional spaces.

Located in the heart of the house is an updated and well-equipped kitchen with quality appliances including oven, cooktop, microwave and pod coffee machine. The kitchen opens up to the dining area which features a large timber dining table perfect for sharing meals with family and friends.

The large living area enjoys the same lawn and bay views of the eastern and western wings. The wood heater will heat the whole house on those chilly Tasmanian nights.

A large outdoor deck area, bbq, and comfy outdoor lounge makes it perfect entertaining or just for snuggling up, enjoying your morning coffee, or just sit back and read that book you've been trying to finish.

There is a secure sun room which is perfect for bike storage and does include a couple of storage racks.

Should you feel so inclined there is an expansive lawn area perfect for a bit of back yard cricket. There is access from the property to the shore of Moulting Bay and even a seat there for you to sit and take in the views.

The entire grounds are fully landscaped with beautiful garden beds for you to enjoy and if an outdoor fire is your choice there is also one of those for you to enjoy.

Coffee, tea, and basic provisions are provided and there are two grocers in nearby St Helens and a wide array of restaurants and Cafés.

Sometimes the local area is quiet, and sometimes it's a hive of recreational activity. You may even be lucky enough to see the local Sea Eagle who regular pays us a visit.

The property is short drive from local attractions including Bay of Fires, Peron Dunes, the St Helens Mountain Bike Tracks and the beautiful seaside hamlet of St Helens.

Unwind, reconnect, rejuvenate, and relax with family and friends in this little slice of Tasmanian paradise.

Moulting Bay is quite shallow and not suited to swimming or fishing. It is great for kayaking and for long walks along the water's edge.

St Helens is all about the ocean. The beaches, bays, and estuaries here are perfect for swimming, beach walking, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and every kind of fishing.

Bay of Fires and Binalong Bay are rated one of Lonely Planet's top ten regions in the world and St Helens is known as the gateway to this area. The iconic white sandy beaches, lichen-covered granite boulders, and crystal clear turquoise waters provide the perfect backdrop for all beach and water activities. The bays are conservation areas and home to an abundance of bird and marine life.

The St Helens Mountain Bike Trails are some of the most scenic trails in the world – where else in the world can you ride Mountains to the Sea, ending your ride in one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the Bay of Fires.

Pynengana is a small dairy town and home to the historic Pyengana Dairy where you can see cheese being made and taste a selection of award-winning cheeses. It's also home to The Pub in the Paddock one of the oldest pubs in Tasmania.
