A beautifully converted farm building in a peaceful location in the grounds of a historic property in beautiful West Cork. Arranged over two floors, it is ideally suited for 1-3 people.

The space
The Piggery is arranged over two floors.

The ground floor has a comfortable living and eating area with a wood-burning stove, a separate kitchen and adjacent shower room. Upstairs is a large and light-filled sleeping and living area with a super king size bed and a single bed, doubling as a day bed. It's ideally suited for one person, a couple or a couple with an additional person.

The Piggery is deliberately low-tech - there is an excellent wi-fi connection throughout the property but no other audio-visual equipment - we encourage guests to bring their own devices if they want to.

Guest access
The Piggery is located in the grounds of a larger house. There is a shared driveway, but The Piggery is located at a distance from the main house on one side of a former stableyard. There is parking outside the property.

Other things to note
The stairs connecting the two floors are steep. We therefore do not recommend The Piggery for anyone with mobility issues or for small children to stay.

Where you’ll be

County Cork, Ireland

The Piggery is set in the grounds of a historic property one mile outside the market town of Skibbereen. The property owners host the annual West Cork History Festival in August.

A car is essential to get to the property and to get around West Cork, although you can walk into Skibbereen itself - it takes about 20 minutes.

Skibbereen has a range of amenities including supermarkets, independent food shops, excellent cafes & restaurants, chemists, gift shops and bookshops as well as an Arts Centre.

The Piggery's surroundings are rural and peaceful, with the coast close by - the nearest beach is a 10 minute drive away. Beautiful Lough Hyne s 15 minutes away.

The Piggery is within 20 minutes drive of the towns of Baltimore, Ballydehob, Schull and Clonalkilty, all well worth a visit. It is also close to the Wild Atlantic Way.
