Neighbourhood highlights

Lochinver is a small Highland fishing village located in the NW of Scotland in an area called Assynt. It is on the NC 500 route and located within the Highland Geopark. Surrounded by significant mountains with fabulous coastland, the area offers lots to enjoy outdoors. Lochinver has a few shops and restaurants to enjoy during your stay.
Directions:
If you head into Lochinver from the main Ullapool or Lairg road (A837) you will enter the 30mph zone down a steep hill. Turn 1st right over the old stone bridge, signposted to Baddidaroch (one way traffic system) and head up the hill. About 500 metres from the bridge at the brow of the hill, you will see the Old Coastguard Station, on the right. There is a gate for cars (opens out, so keep to the right when arriving, if you want to bring the car in) and a pedestrian gate. The gates need to be kept closed when not in use, to prevent deer eating tree saplings.
